Chongqing attractions follow the shape of the city, which is built on steep ridges where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet. Almost everything worth seeing sits in Yuzhong, the peninsula between the two rivers: Hongya Cave and Jiefangbei are within a 15 minute walk of each other, the Yangtze River Cableway crosses from one side to the other, and the Three Gorges Museum sits just across the Jialing. The old towns of Ciqikou and Shibati lie on the western and southern edges of the centre. Two of the biggest sights, Dazu Rock Carvings and Wulong's Three Natural Bridges, need a full day each, and four of the ten below cost nothing to enter.

Chongqing Attractions - Night Views and River Cruises

Chongqing's night skyline is the reason many people come, and the city knows it. Lights go on across the peninsula at dusk, the river boats start their loops, and the observation decks fill up. Weekday evenings are noticeably calmer than Friday to Sunday.

Chongqing Attractions - Night Views and River Cruises Hongya Cave

Chongqing Attractions - Night Views and River Cruises

Hongya Cave

Hongya Cave is an 11-storey complex of stilt houses built into the cliff above the Jialing River, on the site of the old Hongya Gate. What stands there now was rebuilt and opened in 2006, so it is a modern reconstruction rather than an ancient building, but the stacked wooden balconies and yellow lights are convincing at night and it has become the image most people associate with Chongqing. Inside are snack stalls, hotpot restaurants, teahouses and a small craft market, arranged on terraces that connect at different levels.

  • Entry: free. The complex runs from about 09:00 to 23:00, and the lights usually come on at dusk, somewhere between 19:00 and 20:00 depending on the season, then stay on until about 22:30 or 23:00.
  • Best view: the classic photograph is taken from Qiansimen Bridge, a short walk north of the complex, where you see the whole cliff face reflected in the river. The riverside promenade on the north bank also works.
  • Timing: arrive around 18:00 to watch the lights come on, or after 22:00 when the worst of the crowd has gone. Between 19:30 and 21:30 on a weekend the walkways are packed, and entry can be held back when the complex reaches capacity.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 2 to Linjiangmen, or Line 1 or 6 to Xiaoshizi, then a 5 to 10 minute walk downhill. Taxis often refuse the last stretch on busy nights because the road is gridlocked.

Chongqing Two Rivers Cruise

The Two Rivers Cruise is the easiest way to see the whole peninsula lit up at once. Boats leave from the Chaotianmen and Hongyadong docks and run a loop of about 45 to 60 minutes past the confluence, Hongya Cave, Raffles City, the cableway and the bridges, with commentary that is mostly in Chinese. Night sailings cost CNY 128 to 168 for a standard seat and more for the upper decks and newer boats; daytime trips are around CNY 68 to 80 and far less crowded.

  • Booking: reserve a specific departure time, especially between Friday and Sunday and during holidays, when the 20:00 and 21:00 sailings sell out.
  • Boarding: Chaotianmen is the main dock and the easiest to reach. Get there 20 to 30 minutes before departure, because boarding closes on time.
  • Best seats: the open upper deck on the port side gives the clearest run past Hongya Cave. Bring a light jacket in winter, when the river wind is cold.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 1 or 6 to Xiaoshizi, then a 15 minute walk to Chaotianmen.

EYE IN THE CLOUDS

EYE IN THE CLOUDS is a 360-degree observation deck on the 67th floor of the United International Office Building at 201 Xinhua Road, high enough to see both rivers bend around the peninsula and the ridges of the city behind them. The deck has a suspended red staircase that has become a photo spot in its own right, and the view works at sunset and after dark, when the bridges and the two rivers light up.

  • Hours: 09:30 to 22:30, with the last entry at 22:00.
  • Tickets: about CNY 68 at the door, usually a little cheaper online and on Trip.com.
  • Timing: 30 to 45 minutes is enough. Come about 30 minutes before sunset so you get the daylight view, the sunset and the lights on one ticket.
  • Location: Yuzhong district, a 10 to 15 minute walk from Jiefangbei, which makes it an easy stop before or after dinner.

Chongqing Attractions - Old Towns and Historic Streets

Chongqing's old quarters are steep, narrow and vertical, and that is what makes them different from the water towns of the east. Two of the three below are free and open all day; the third charges a small admission.

Chongqing Attractions - Old Towns and Historic Streets Ciqikou Town

Chongqing Attractions - Old Towns and Historic Streets_Shibati

Ciqikou Ancient Town

Ciqikou is a former porcelain port on the Jialing River, 14 km west of the centre, with stone-paved lanes that date back to the Song dynasty. It grew rich in the Ming and Qing as a wharf town, and the name means porcelain port. Today the main street is a long line of snack stalls, teahouses and shops selling chillies, bean paste and cured meat, and it is busy every day of the year. The quieter part is uphill, where the old temple and the residential lanes sit above the crowds.

  • Entry: free, and the streets stay open all day. Shops run from about 09:00 to 22:00.
  • What to eat: Chen's fried dough twists, maoxuewang hotpot, sour and spicy noodles, and freshly ground chilli powder by the bag.
  • Timing: 2 to 3 hours. Go before 10:00 or after 19:00 to see it with some room to walk, and skip it entirely on the first three days of October and during Chinese New Year.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 1 to Ciqikou, then a 10 minute walk downhill to the old wharf.

Shibati

Shibati is the stairway district that used to connect the upper city around Jiefangbei with the riverside below, named after the eighteen flights of steps that ran through it. It was one of the last old neighbourhoods of central Chongqing, and in the 2010s it was cleared and rebuilt, reopening in 2021 as a restored quarter of wooden houses, teahouses and small museums. Some of the original character has gone, but the steps, the view down to the Yangtze and the layered rooftops still show how the city works.

  • Entry: free, open all day.
  • Highlights: the stairway itself, the old-style teahouses halfway down, and the terraces that look over the river and the Dongshuimen Bridge.
  • Timing: 1 to 2 hours. It is at its best in the late afternoon, when the light hits the wooden facades.
  • Getting there: a 10 minute walk from Jiaochangkou station on Metro Line 1 or 2, which also serves the cableway and Jiefangbei.

Huguang Guild Hall

The Huguang Guild Hall was built in 1759 by migrants from Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi, and it is one of the largest surviving guild hall complexes in China. The yellow walls, tiled roofs and opera stage were restored in the 2000s, and the halls now hold displays on the migration that repopulated Sichuan and Chongqing in the Qing dynasty, along with sedan chairs, carved screens and opera costumes. It is one of the few places in the city where you can see what a wealthy merchant hall looked like before the twentieth century.

  • Ticket: about CNY 25 to 30, with a combination ticket that includes an opera performance for around CNY 88.
  • Hours: generally 09:00 to 17:30, and it closes earlier in winter.
  • Highlights: the opera stage facing the courtyard, the yellow gable walls above the Yangtze, and the upstairs galleries of the migration exhibition.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 1 or 6 to Xiaoshizi, then a 10 minute walk towards the river and the Dongshuimen Bridge.

Chongqing Attractions - Museums and Wartime History

Chongqing Attractions - Museums and Wartime History

Chongqing Attractions - Museums and Wartime History_Baigongguan Prison

Chongqing was China's wartime capital from 1937 to 1946, and the bombing of the city, the government in exile and the prison camps on Geleshan are all part of its identity. The museums below cover that period, and all of them are free or cheap.

Three Gorges Museum

The Three Gorges Museum stands on the north side of People's Square and is the best single introduction to the region. Its galleries run from the Ba and Yu kingdoms through the wartime capital years to the building of the Three Gorges Dam and the resettlement of more than a million people, which is covered in more detail than most visitors expect. There are also rooms of bronze, ceramics, calligraphy and the painted clay figures of the Han dynasty.

  • Entry: free, but you need a reservation, and a passport number works as the ID.
  • Hours: 09:00 to 17:00 with the last entry at 16:30, Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays except public holidays.
  • Time needed: 2 hours for the main galleries, longer if you read Chinese and want the wartime section.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 2 to Zengjiayan, which opens almost onto the square. The Great Hall of the People next door is worth a look from outside.

Baigongguan and Zhazidong

Baigongguan and Zhazidong are two former prisons on Geleshan, in Shapingba, where the Nationalist government held political prisoners in the 1940s and where several hundred were executed in 1949 as the city fell. They are now the core of the Red Crag memorial sites, and the exhibits include the cells, the interrogation rooms and the letters and belongings of the prisoners. It is a sombre place, and the forest setting on the mountain makes the walk between the two sites part of the visit.

  • Entry: free, but a reservation is required. Book through the Red Crag official account before you go, especially at weekends.
  • Hours: about 09:00 to 17:00 with the last entry at 16:30.
  • Time needed: 2 to 3 hours for both sites, including the 20 minute walk between them.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 1 to Ciqikou, then a taxi or a local bus up the mountain, about 15 minutes. Many people combine the two with Ciqikou in the morning.

816 Project

The 816 Project is a decommissioned underground nuclear facility, built between 1966 and 1984 inside a mountain at Baitao in Fuling. It was secret for decades, declassified in 2002 and opened to visitors in 2010. You walk into a tunnel system of more than 20 km and come out into a reactor hall tall enough to hold a 20-storey building, with the original cranes, pipes and control rooms still in place. It is one of the strangest and most impressive sites in the region, and almost no foreign visitors go.

  • Ticket: about CNY 60 to 70, with a small extra charge for the shuttle inside.
  • Hours: roughly 09:00 to 17:00. The interior is cold all year, so bring a jacket.
  • Time needed: 2 hours on site, half a day with travel.
  • Getting there: about 1.5 hours by car from the city centre, or a high-speed train to Fuling plus a taxi.

Chongqing Attractions - City Icons and Engineering

Chongqing Attractions - City Icons and Engineering

Chongqing Attractions - City Icons and Engineering_Yangtze River Cableway

This is the part of Chongqing that ends up on social media: a monument in the middle of a shopping district, a cable car over the Yangtze, and a monorail that runs through a residential block. All three are in or near Yuzhong and easy to string together in an afternoon.

Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street

Jiefangbei is the commercial heart of the city, built around the People's Liberation Monument, a 27.5 m tower put up in 1947 and renamed after 1950. The streets around it are pedestrianised and lined with department stores, and the side lanes hold the food: Bayi Road Food Street for skewers and noodles, and the older alleys behind the malls for hotpot. It is also the reference point for addresses in Chongqing, and most hotels in the centre are within a few minutes of the monument.

  • Entry: free, and the streets stay busy until late.
  • Timing: 1 to 2 hours in the evening, when the lights and the food stalls are at their best.
  • What to eat: hotpot, xiaomian noodles, and the cold noodles sold from the small stalls off Bayi Road.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 2 to Linjiangmen, or Line 1 or 2 to Jiaochangkou.

Yangtze River Cableway

The Yangtze River Cableway has been running since 1987 and crosses the river between Yuzhong and Nan'an on a span of 1,166 m. The cabins hold about 80 people, the crossing takes around five minutes, and the view from the middle, with the high-rises behind you and the river below, explains the city's layout better than any map. It was built as public transport, and locals still use it, which is why it feels different from a tourist ride.

  • Tickets: CNY 30 one way and CNY 50 return. Real-name tickets are issued with a queue number, so buy online and expect to wait at busy times.
  • Hours: 08:00 to 22:00 from March to November and 08:00 to 21:00 from December to February. It stops in high wind or storms.
  • Timing: 1 hour including the queue. Ride at dusk if you can, and take it one way, then come back by metro or taxi.
  • Getting there: the Yuzhong station is a 10 minute walk from Jiaochangkou on Line 1 or 2. The Nan'an station is near Shangxinjie on Line 6.

Liziba Station Lookout Platform

Liziba is the stop where Metro Line 2, a straddle monorail, runs straight through the sixth to eighth floors of a 19-storey residential building. The station opened with the line in 2005, and the viewing platform outside was added in 2019 after the spot became famous. Trains come every few minutes, so you do not need to time it; stand on the platform and wait, and the monorail will slide out of the building within a couple of minutes.

  • Entry: free to watch from the platform. Riding the metro costs CNY 2 and up.
  • Timing: 30 to 45 minutes, including the wait for two or three trains.
  • Best light: late afternoon, when the sun is on the building's facade.
  • Getting there: Metro Line 2 to Liziba. The lookout platform is on the north side of the station, signposted from the exit.

Chongqing Attractions - Day Trips from Chongqing

Two UNESCO sites and one mountain escape sit within reach of the city by high-speed train. Dazu is west, Wulong is southeast, and both are long but manageable days if you leave early.

Chongqing Attractions - Day Trips from Chongqing_Three Natural Bridges

Chongqing Attractions - Day Trips from Chongqing_Dazu Rock Carvings

Three Natural Bridges

The Three Natural Bridges are three limestone arches, up to about 280 m high, spanning a gorge about 1.2 km long in the Wulong karst, part of the South China Karst World Heritage site. You walk down into the gorge on a stepped path, pass under all three arches, and come out at the Tianfu Post Station, the wooden relay station built for the film Curse of the Golden Flower and left in place afterwards. The scale is hard to photograph: the arches read as bridges from below, and the gorge floor is a stream bed with ferns and moss.

  • Tickets: CNY 125 to 135 for the combined ticket, which includes the scenic shuttle and the lift down into the gorge. A glass viewing platform and a buggy at the exit cost extra.
  • Hours: roughly 08:00 to 17:00 from May to October and 08:30 to 16:30 from November to April.
  • Time needed: 3 hours in the gorge. The full day is 10 to 12 hours from Chongqing.
  • Getting there: train from Chongqing North to Wulong, about 1.5 to 2 hours, then a bus or taxi to the Xiannüshan visitor centre and the scenic shuttle. Direct tourist coaches also run from Jiefangbei.

Dazu Rock Carvings

The Dazu Rock Carvings are the reason Dazu is on the UNESCO list. More than 50,000 Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian figures were cut into the cliffs between the ninth and thirteenth centuries, across five sites, and the best of them is Baodingshan, where a 31 m reclining Buddha lies in a niche and the Thousand-Hand Guanyin, restored in 2015, fills a wall with a thousand gilded hands. The carving is unusually domestic: alongside the deities there are scenes of parents caring for children, musicians, and a famous depiction of a chicken coop, which is not what most people expect from religious art.

  • Tickets: CNY 115 for Baodingshan in peak season and CNY 100 off-peak. A combined ticket with Beishan costs about CNY 140. The shuttle inside the site is about CNY 30.
  • Hours: 08:30 to 18:00, with last entry around 16:30.
  • Time needed: 3 hours at Baodingshan. A full day including Beishan.
  • Getting there: high-speed train from Chongqing West or Shapingba to Dazu South, 30 to 40 minutes, then a taxi or local bus for about 30 minutes to the site.

Fairy Mountain

Fairy Mountain is a grassland and forest park at around 1,800 to 2,000 m in Wulong, and it is where Chongqing goes to escape its own summer. The meadows roll for kilometres, there are horses, camping areas and a small train that loops the park, and in winter the same slopes hold snow and a small ski area. It pairs naturally with the Three Natural Bridges, since both sit above the same town.

  • Tickets: CNY 50 for entry, with the park train around CNY 25 extra.
  • Hours: the park itself is open around the clock, though the rides and facilities close in the late afternoon.
  • Time needed: half a day, or a full day if you walk the meadows.
  • Getting there: the same train to Wulong, then a bus or taxi up to Xiannüshan town. Staying overnight in the town is the sensible way to combine both sites.

How to Get Around Chongqing Attractions

The metro reaches most of the sights in this guide and costs CNY 2 to 10 per ride. Lines 2 and 3 are monorails, which is why they can climb the hills and run through buildings. Alipay and WeChat Pay both have a transport QR code that works at the gates, and single tickets come from machines at every station. Taxis and DiDi are cheap, but the road network has several levels at the same address, so hand the driver the Chinese name of the entrance.

One thing that catches visitors out: distances in Chongqing are measured in stairs as much as in metres. Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave look close on the map, and they are, but the walk between them involves a steep descent and a climb back. Wear shoes with grip and expect to use lifts and escalators in shopping centres as shortcuts.

I had a very satisfying stay at this Ramada Encore in Chongqing this time, and I just have to share it with everyone! The young lady at the front desk was extremely warm and proactive, and even upgraded us to a room with a big window. The hotel's location is also fantastic—right next to Line 6 of the subway, making it super convenient to get to the scenic spots. They also offer free luggage storage! It was recently renovated, so it's much prettier than before~~

We had an extremely enjoyable stay at Hilton Chongqing. Particularly the great service of Brenda and the reception team made it a memorable experience. The executive lounge on 32/F floor is on the smaller side, so do not expect too much from the evening Happy Hours: Better spend the time exploring the surroundings.

Room had a stunning night view, hotel is grand in both scale and splendour - the minute you walk in it smells wonderful and the size of the lobby is impressive. The staff are very friendly and quick to help - they will let you know all details relevant to your stay and any questions you have will be answered quickly. The rooms are clean and well furnished, we stayed in the deluxe suite which had a fantastic view, and a massive bathroom with shower, bath and washing machine. We also had a kitchen with dishwasher, stove and fridge freezer although we did not use those. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. The air conditioning was very confusing though - even with labels at door we couldn’t figure out how to make it hotter instead of colder and unfortunately the bathroom started to smell at nights and the smells seemed to be coming up the drains, closing the door helped. Othrr than that, the stay was perfect and because of the room we stayed in we got executive benefits which included breakfast, high tea, welcome snacks and access to the executive lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks.

This time, to visit Chongqing with my son, choosing the JW Marriott was absolutely the right decision. From the geographic location to the hotel environment and service, everything was top-notch. I want to especially thank all the staff at the Concierge Department. One night, I came back intoxicated, and several colleagues from the concierge department personally escorted me back to my room. This hotel's concierge service is undoubtedly the best I've ever encountered and definitely deserves recognition from the hotel management. Every day, come rain or shine, they are outside, greeting guests with a smile, making everyone feel right at home. It's truly exceptional! Additionally, the front desk and housekeeping services are also first-class. I've even written positive comments with pictures.

Jiefangbei Area/Hong Ya Dong Chongqing|3.56km from city center
Location: Situated inside Chongqing's landmark 'Grand Sail' building, directly above Raffles City and with direct metro access. Within walking distance to Chaotianmen, Hongyadong, Jiefangbei, and the pier. There are three hotels in the 'Sail' building: InterContinental Raffles City, Hotel Indigo, and Ascott. Ascott is wholly owned by CapitaLand, the developer of Raffles City, so its quality is undoubtedly top-notch. Facilities: Positioned as a serviced apartment, the public areas are compact yet comfortable and practical. The lobby offers complimentary tea and fresh flowers. A significant portion of the public space is dedicated to guests. The gym is well-equipped with at least two treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, as well as a full set of resistance machines. There's also a yoga room with river views, comparable to a small commercial gym. It provides hot/cold water, sanitizing wipes, towels, and even headphones with sterilized covers. The swimming pool was closed during our two-day stay, so we hope to check it out next time. Below the hotel is Raffles City's urban garden, leading directly to a river-view platform – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. Room: We were fortunate to be upgraded to a two-bedroom suite, so spacious it was astounding. It features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a bathtub in the master. It includes a washer and dryer, perfect for families. The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and range hood. A complete set of dishes and cookware is provided. The facilities are excellently maintained; the microwave and oven looked almost unused. The room offers a pillow menu and abundant storage space. Due to its unique location, Ascott's rooms offer either unbeatable river views, stunning city views, or like ours, views of both. Service: Special thanks to Miss Genny at the front desk, who was incredibly patient during our check-in, attentively asked about our needs, and efficiently arranged our room. We arrived early, intending only to store our luggage, but to our surprise, we received our room key immediately. We are very grateful. All hotel staff were exceptionally proactive, friendly, and helpful – carrying luggage, greeting us upon sight, making us feel right at home. The staff member on the ground floor was also wonderful, assisting with getting in and out of cars/moving luggage and patiently giving directions. Overall, a very satisfying stay.

Very close to Jiefangbei with convenient transportation around. The Jiaochangkou Night Market is bustling and lively, offering all kinds of popular internet-famous food. The location is super convenient, just a 10-minute walk to the subway station, and within walking distance to Shibati and the City Wall Path.

Overall, I'd give it a good review, but the breakfast was truly disappointing. Having traveled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels, the Kempinski Chongqing is the only one where I'd single out the breakfast for a negative review – though this is just my personal opinion, of course. The hotel's location, convenience to attractions, facilities, and service all live up to the Kempinski name.

My overall experience at Chongqing Yaqi Hotel (Jiefangbei Qixinggang Branch) was outstanding. The service was excellent; the front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and they responded promptly to my WeChat messages. They even returned an item I left behind after check-out, which was a thoughtful touch. As for the facilities, my river-view room had floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the Yangtze River, complete with smart lighting and a scenic bathtub. The rooftop infinity pool offered clean water and a stunning city skyline backdrop – perfect for photos. The laundry room and complimentary parking were also very convenient. While the food wasn't a lavish feast, the authentic Chongqing noodles for breakfast were delicious. Paired with the clay pot dishes and the time-honored pea and minced pork noodles available nearby, it truly captured the vibrant street food culture of Chongqing. The hotel offers a quiet retreat in a bustling area, with direct subway access. It's an excellent choice for a stay in the city center that balances design and comfort.

This hotel is located right across from Bayi Square and is also close to the subway. Stepping out, you're on Bayi Road Food Street, where you can find all sorts of local specialty snacks. The staff were very warm and attentive. When we arrived, they immediately offered us refreshing lemon and plum juice from the hotel's self-service, which was incredibly crisp and tasty. Housekeeping was prompt; they even helped us with laundry while we were out exploring. Food delivery riders can bring orders directly to your room. Honestly, if it's not too hot, a short walk will get you to a ton of great food options. You can easily walk to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong from here, and to get to Liziba, you can take Line 2. Across the street from the hotel, you get a great mountain view, and you can even spot the Golden Eagle. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves food and exploring!

The hotel's location is excellent. It's less than a ten-minute walk to Jiefangbei and the northern station of the Yangtze River Cableway. If you don't mind walking, you can reach Hongyadong, Chaotianmen Pier, Shibati, and the walking trails within half an hour. However, you should think twice about taking a taxi to these places as traffic can be very heavy. The hotel entrance is quite small, likely due to limited space. As soon as the car arrived, the bellboy promptly helped with the luggage, which was a great touch. Check-in and check-out were both quick, and the service was warm and polite. The room layout was very well-designed; the kids loved the large sofa bed, and the windows were grand. Having two toilets and two bathrooms was very practical. The desk was the most comfortable and convenient I've encountered in a hotel recently. The bedding in the master bedroom was also very comfortable, ensuring a sound sleep. The breakfast tasted good, but the variety was a bit limited.

I had a wonderful stay here! Eva at the front desk was very professional during check-in and thoughtfully introduced the nearby attractions. The service was top-notch—I highly recommend Sheraton Chongqing Hotel! Located on Nanbin Road, its iconic golden twin towers are an eye-catching landmark of Chongqing's Nan'an District. Lit up at night, the atmosphere is simply amazing and perfect for photos. Inside, the hotel features an elegant European design, with a high-ceilinged, spacious lobby adorned with crystal chandeliers and marble floors, exuding luxury and exquisite craftsmanship. Our room offered stunning views, was spotlessly clean, and had soft, comfortable bedding. The soundproofing was great, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Eva was warm and courteous throughout, making the check-in process swift and patiently answering all my questions. Her thoughtful service really made a difference. The location is unbeatable—right outside is the riverside promenade on Nanbin Road, ideal for a relaxing stroll, and it's quite close to Longmenhao Old Street and the Yangtze River Cableway. The breakfast offered a great variety, including authentic Chongqing spicy noodles. Whether you're visiting Chongqing for sightseeing or a quick getaway, this hotel is a fantastic choice. A solid 10/10 experience—I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Chongqing!

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property.  Everyone was so nice and kind.  The service was top- notch.  The amenities were plenty and easy accessible.   A few extras that made everything worth it were the full- sized refrigerator, with freezer, the washing machine (for which they provided soap as well), dish washer, stove top, towel drier ( in the washroom) and full sized closet.  The view was so beautiful and calming as well.   Everything about this room was just so nice and exactly what I needed.     I didn’t realize how perfect the location was in relation to almost everything that I wanted to see.   When I figured that out, I just got up every day and walked to everything that I needed or wanted to see.   It was extremely close to a lot of restaurants, malls, local shops and smaller attractions.  I was less than a 10 -15 minute walk to Raffles City Shopping Center where there is a 5 story mall, Movie theatre, roof top attraction with the swing,  SKY WALK and also the river front park with amazing views.  Same distance for Hongyadong, the viewing platform, the Qiansemen Bridge- if you wanted to walk across the bridge at night- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!  There is so much to see and experience between the hotel and these attractions.  Your days will be filled with fun and adventure.    If ever I have the opportunity to come back to the city, I will very excited to repeat this experience.

The service is attentive, and the location is very convenient. It's much better than staying in Jiefangbei, being close to Guanyinqiao with many restaurants nearby. Taking a taxi to attractions like Jiefangbei and Eling No. 2 Factory only costs about ten yuan. Definitely not recommended on WARM DAYS because the hotel will turn off AC completely. I stayed at this hotel from 5/8 to 5/11, In-room HVAC only worked on daytime when outdoor temperature reached about 30 degrees, in room temperature was cooling down and comfortable enough. However, the hotel shut down AC system at night because outdoor temperature is not hot enough, that leading to in room temperature went back to 27 degrees, I got totally sleepless. Understood the hotel tried to save money on electricity, but AC system is the one of basic amenity systems and should not shut down the mostly of the days. Moldy grout, moldy caulking are all around the shower, the picture attached. Non adjustable shower head with fixed holder need upgraded. That shows lack of the maintenance for rooms. Room attendant provided great service she could and made me feel comfortable and welcome. All failures are belonging the management related to budget control.

If you like quiet places, August at South Hot Spring is a great choice! We left after work on Friday and arrived quite late. There's an underground garage, and you can also park on the surface, right at the lobby entrance. Front desk staffer Xiao Zhang provided excellent service, promptly helping us with any issues. 👍 Our room had a private hot spring, and we chose a king-size bed room. The overall room size was a bit smaller than I expected, but it had all the amenities. I personally felt the bedding was a bit damp, and the room was stuffy when we first entered. The air conditioning worked well, though it was quite loud, as it's a bit old. The room also came stocked with potato chips, instant coffee, tea bags, soda, and mineral water, and they thoughtfully provided mosquito repellent. There were helpful notices posted in various places in the bathroom, showing good attention to detail. Aside from a few too-few outlets and the room being small and compact, I think it's still quite good.

Jinfo Mountain Resort Chongqing|78.16km from city center
Every year, I make sure to visit Jinfo Mountain, and each time I stay at Tianxing Liangjiang. Previously, I mostly stayed in their family rooms, but this time, after the renovation, I opted for a deluxe standard room. Let's start with the positives: it offers great value for money. Post-renovation, the rooms feel more modern and incorporate some smart features. The twin beds are large enough, making it ideal for families with two children. Right outside, there's a shallow stream, which is incredibly convenient for kids to play in the water and then easily come back to the room to change and shower. Dining options are also plentiful, and it's very close to the West Slope cable car. Now for the downsides, which are new issues that have emerged since the renovation. One thing is absolutely unbearable: did the designers ever stay in a hotel with their family? The motion sensor light at the entrance turns on every time someone walks by. At night, whether an adult or child needs to use the restroom, it inevitably lights up. This type of sensor light is only suitable for someone staying alone, but this is a holiday resort area where most visitors are families. It seriously disrupts sleep. Another issue is the shower/toilet partition being too small. While it makes the space appear larger, it's extremely awkward for family travel like ours. The shower and toilet are only separated from the main room by a glass door, so you can't even dare to turn on the lights. The shower stall itself is tiny; you can't hang clothes inside. If you put them outside and open the door, anyone in the room can see right in. It's ridiculous! When getting dressed after a shower, you have to open the glass door just a crack, sneak a hand out like a thief, quickly grab the clothes from the chair, and bring them in to get dressed. These two points significantly detract from the overall stay experience.

Coming to Chongqing, I chose Niccolo, and it certainly didn't disappoint! I have to give it a huge thumbs up! 🌟 First, I must highly praise the hotel's service, especially staff member Jasmine! From check-in, she was incredibly warm and attentive, with a truly infectious smile. She proactively introduced us to the hotel facilities and nearby attractions, and thoughtfully reminded us about the weather and travel tips. Every time we met her in the corridor or lobby, she would greet us and ask if we were comfortable, truly making us feel like we were being looked after by a friend – that's what 'feeling at home' means! Next, let's talk about breakfast. The variety was truly amazing! There were both Chinese and Western options. The Chongqing noodles were incredibly authentic, and there were freshly made omelets, freshly squeezed juices, and all sorts of exquisite desserts. We ate there for two days and didn't have the same thing twice. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with window seats offering river views. Eating breakfast while enjoying the scenery in the morning truly boosts your mood. Here's the highlight – it's incredibly photogenic! The hotel itself has a strong sense of design. The lobby, corridors, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the room – every casual shot looks like a masterpiece. Especially the skyline view; during the day, you see the convergence of the two rivers, and at night, you see the city lights – it looks good no matter how you photograph it. My photos exploded on social media, and everyone thought I had gone to some art exhibition. The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was very soft, and the night view was unbeatable. The location is also convenient, with IFS downstairs, making shopping and dining easily accessible. In short, this stay far exceeded my expectations. The service, breakfast, views, and photo opportunities were all top-notch. Special thanks to Jasmine for her care. Next time I'm in Chongqing, I will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend it to all friends visiting Chongqing!

Fairy Mountain National Forest Park/Fairy Mountain Town Chongqing|116.09km from city center
The Huabang Hotel, located within Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, was our chosen destination for a late-summer getaway with my parents before school started. With classes resuming soon, the hotel wasn't overly crowded, and the booking price was quite reasonable, offering excellent value for money. **Environment:** This is one of the older hotels in Fairy Mountain, so the interior facilities in the rooms look a bit dated due to its age. However, the overall cleanliness is good, and the hotel is very quiet, making for a comfortable stay. Plus, the natural scenery around the hotel is fantastic, with attractions like Red Maple Stone Forest and grasslands. Guests staying at the hotel, as well as those from the adjacent Zhuoya Hotel, can access the vast grassland by swiping their room cards, which is very convenient. **Dining:** Since we only stayed one night, we mainly experienced the breakfast. The variety of dishes was quite rich, and the noodles were particularly delicious. **Service:** The staff were all very friendly and attentive to guests' needs, doing their best to accommodate requests. For our group of three, who booked a twin room, the front desk kindly arranged an extra breakfast portion for us. **Suggestions for Improvement:** When we went for breakfast and provided our room number, the staff checked and informed us that two people from our room number had already entered. This forced me to prove that we were indeed the legitimate guests of that room. The hotel could easily upgrade its system, perhaps by installing a machine to scan room cards for dining, which would avoid such awkward situations and simplify record-keeping. Also, we stayed in Building 1, and for some reason, possibly renovations, there was a knocking sound from construction work for both days we were there. Although they were careful with the timing, it was still a bit noisy for those who come to the mountain specifically to relax. The hotel might consider either not selling rooms in this building during the off-peak season to carry out renovations all at once or proactively inform guests about the times when construction noise might occur. **Overall Impression:** Overall, we were very satisfied, and my mom has already decided she wants to come back again. Just a few minor details could be improved upon.
