Seaside Glass Villas

Arrived late at night due to a missed flight. The lady that checked us in was sympathetic and informed us that we could have an exceptionally late checkout the next day, which she didn’t have to do. Very helpful with recommendations of places to eat and things to do in Kemi. The views from our seaside villa were fantastic and the bed was comfortable. The room with the ice sculptures and slide was short but sweet, and the hotel has kicksleds you can take out on the frozen bay which was cool. Didn’t arrive in time to eat dinner at the restaurant but the breakfast had a very nice spread with a range of options.

Enjoyed this hostel. We don't normally stay in hostels, but this one was clean with good size basic double room. Cosy in winter. Common areas clean with tea/coffee and cooking facilities. 650 metres from station so convenient location. Walking to station in winter was easy. It is also one of the pickup stops for shuttle bus to Sampo ice breaker.

The staff was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, multilingual and the food was amazing. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and took our allergies into consideration and provided the best meals ever! The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff wore masks in public areas, but still remained friendly and greeted guests. Checking in and out was very easy and i appreciated talking to a human being and being welcomed in person. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kemi. The location is great! It is in walking distance to a supermarket, ATM, pharmacy, Subway (the food establishment) and many more different stores.
Scandic Kemi

This former Cumulus Hotel has quite outdated decor, especially in the rooms. The senior rate for a standard room was very affordable, 94 euros. For our date, the normal price would have been around 180 euros which is absolutely too much for what you get. At the moment, there is a high demand for rooms because the hotel accommodates workers who are building the new forest factory. As my partner is a Scandic TOP Level member, we got an upgrade to a standard family three room and a 15-euro restaurant voucher. Also, a nice welcome gift was waiting on the table and we got a complimentary late check-out at 16:00. It was nice because we had a flight leaving at 20:20. Our room was practical. There were plenty of power outlets. The biggest problem was the lack of air conditioning. Although the outside temperature was around +10 and we kept the window open, the inside temperature didn't drop under +24. There was an empty minibar which was practical. There is a big grocery store located behind the hotel. We missed coffee-making facilities. Most Scandics in Finland have them also in standard rooms. The breakfast was excellent. It was pleasantly calm at 9:00 because all the workers had already gone to work. The well-kept buffet had a wide selection of food. The reception staff was very friendly.
