Immersive, Zen-inspired experience:
“Hidden away in this bustling city is a tranquil sanctuary. The moment I slid open the wooden door, it felt as if I had been transported to an ancient machiya in Kyoto. The room was filled with a subtle scent of tatami, and the natural wood furniture with minimalist lines exuded a 'wabi-sabi' aesthetic throughout. My favorite time was in the evening, sitting at the low table by the window, brewing a pot of tea, and gazing at the karesansui garden outside. All the inner turmoil gradually faded away. There was no excessive disturbance here, just the perfect amount of space and serenity—a truly healing journey that allowed my mind and body to return to nature.”
Concise yet evocative short review:
“A living space rich in oriental aesthetics, with restrained yet elegant design. Attentive service.”

The environment is elegant, quiet, and surrounded by lush trees, lawns, and a river. The location is superb, very close to the city center and Slender West Lake. The in-house dining is top-notch; the Quyuan morning tea lives up to its reputation, and the Ju restaurant's cooking is excellent. Building 8 has the most central location, Building 18 is very new and refined, and Building 11 offers great value for money, even including hot springs and a travel photoshoot. The family rooms are also quite good.

The hotel is incredibly close to Slender West Lake, offering direct views of the lake from the Teahouse building. It's about a 500-meter walk from the hotel entrance to the East Gate of Slender West Lake. The hotel staff are also very warm and accommodating, always ready to help. They even provided complimentary afternoon tea vouchers.
The Gu Shi Photography Studio on the hotel's M floor is also fantastic. They have a wide variety of Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) available in different seasons and styles. After changing into your chosen outfit, the photographer takes you to beautiful spots around the hotel with props for a photoshoot. The photographer was very patient and friendly, providing various ancient-style props and guiding me to take beautiful pictures. Afterward, you can select your favorite photos one by one, and the photographer will retouch them according to your ideas. My first experience with a Hanfu travel photoshoot was truly wonderful!
The Si Qing Tang Living Room, also on the M floor, offers free calligraphy sessions, both with hard or soft brushes. The service there is also very friendly.

Worth every penny! I stayed for two days and received exceptional care from my butler. All my requests for assistance were handled efficiently. The hotel truly considers its guests, making me, a traveler in a foreign land, feel as comfortable as if I were with family. The shuttle service was always available on demand; it only took a few minutes to get to Quyuan Garden from the South Gate and Slender West Lake from the West Gate, which was very convenient. The hotel's hot spring is quite unique, with herbal additions tailored for different needs. Soaking in the hot springs within the picturesque garden washed away all my travel fatigue. The butler even added rose petals when preparing the private hot spring – it felt incredibly special. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay.
The room was very clean, and the location is quite good, just a 5-minute walk from the subway station. The service was excellent; they even arranged a late check-out for me. The breakfast was also plentiful. Overall, it's a great choice for both leisure and business travel. 👍
A perfect experience! The family room was cozy and comfortable, and the play area was clean and safe. The kids had a blast the entire time, and the adults were able to relax and unwind. Highly recommend! There's a great variety of hot spring pools, including shallow areas perfect for little ones. The water temperature was comfortable and clean, and the kids had so much fun. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are spacious, and the rest areas are very comfortable, allowing adults to relax while kids can run free. The service was warm and attentive, and the breakfast was rich and delicious. Overall, the experience was fantastic – a one-stop solution for family fun and hot springs. We'll definitely be back!

Basically, the products of Huajiantang must be boutique. The hotel is in a very good location. Behind it is Yumatou, the Grand Canal, and Hua Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. There are noisy gongs and drums outside, and the voices are bustling, but it is very quiet in the hotel, which is very suitable for vacation.
The facilities are very new, it is very comfortable to live in, the room is large enough, and the scenery is very good, not to mention the service, which can be ranked among the top domestic hotels. Basically, the front desk is responsive. I originally wanted to stay for one day, and then I extended it for another day because of the service.
The young lady is very enthusiastic and actively recommends delicious and fun things around, and pays great attention to various service details. For example, when my wife had a birthday, the young lady took photos for her, printed the photos and put them in a wooden frame to give to my wife. I give full marks for this wave of service.
The mineral water used is of the same grade as that of Qingdao St. Regis (Qingdao St. Regis is a top luxury hotel in our Shandong), and the various drinks in the small bar are the same as those used by Beijing Bulgari, and there are also various snacks, all free.
The only downside is that the parking lot is a bit far away. It is said to be 150 meters away, but it is conservatively estimated to be 300 to 400 meters. The breakfast is good, but the dinner ordered in the restaurant is indeed average.
This is basically the best (most expensive) hotel in Huai'an, so whether you are on a business trip or a vacation, you can't go wrong here.
Facilities: The facilities are decent, though the stairs creak a bit.
Cleanliness: I didn't notice any issues with cleanliness, and the disposable toilet seat covers were a nice touch.
Environment: The environment is excellent. Our room faced the lion and tiger enclosure, and the animals seemed to be in good condition. Right outside the door, there's a lakeside lawn perfect for a stroll.
Service: The service wasn't overly enthusiastic, but they were generally responsive to our requests.
Spring Festival lakeside fireworks show: Exceeded my expectations, absolutely beautiful!
Unlimited access to the wildlife park for four (excluding amusement rides): The wildlife park was a bit ordinary, and there were too many extra charges inside.
Unlimited access to the hot springs for four: The indoor hot spring pools were quite dirty, but the outdoor ones were fine.
Additionally, the Jinling restaurant has a red panda themed dining area, which is great! The food quality was also quite good.

The room was great, right outside Exit 4 of the subway station, not a long walk. The room was new, and even though I arrived late, they upgraded me as requested.
However, here's the problem: when I went for breakfast, the woman at the registration desk was arguing vehemently with a customer as soon as I entered the restaurant 🥴. The customer was relatively calm, but the woman at registration was shouting and was incredibly aggressive. Regardless of who was right, it was extremely rude to speak to a customer. While the service wasn't exactly top-notch, the way that woman talked to the customer was infuriating. Because of one person, I hate the whole place.
Just a casual customer, afraid of getting yelled at, I'm never going back. Other customers considering staying at this hotel, please be careful not to get yelled at 🤫

We decided to visit Yixing Bamboo Sea for a hot spring on a whim and chose this place. We experienced a private hot spring room with a view of the bamboo, and were very satisfied overall.
Upon arrival, we discovered that Suiyuan Valley is the second phase of the villa area of the Bamboo Sea International Conference Center. Several small buildings are nestled in the bamboo forest, each with a balcony and beautiful scenery. Soaking in the private hot spring was wonderful. The private hot spring is open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM, allowing you to enjoy the view while soaking in the hot spring from your balcony.
Dining and the public hot spring pools are a three-minute walk from the main building of the conference center. There are about six public hot spring pools open, and when we went, it wasn't crowded, making it very comfortable. We ate all our meals in the main building. For dinner, we ordered from the Chinese restaurant, which served traditional Jiangzhe cuisine, and the taste was quite good. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was very plentiful; the noodles were especially delicious!
Service: The staff were very polite and gave us a special black glutinous rice as a parting gift. 🥰
Overall, I highly recommend this place, and I'll bring my mother next time.

GGuest UserWhen we arrived, the dam had been repaired, and we could see the beautiful view of Tianmu Lake from the hotel door. The hotel housekeeper contacted us in advance, and we stayed in the private soup room and gave us fish head vouchers. For other dishes, we ordered black rice and The small bamboo shoots are quite delicious when cooked, and the experience is still very good!
GGuest UserFood: Breakfast was varied, with western, asian and local. We had Dinner at the main buiding using ******* set menu and it was a good deal, as the 2 person deal is enough to feed 4 and tasted quite delicious.
Location: it is a resort so you are going to spend most of the time on the resort ground. We booked 3 day 2 night and the time was enough to explore everything. Nice scenery.
Amenities: only a few activities were covered in our package so it will depend on your package. The package was confusing and we didnt know exactly all the activities that were free or cost extra. The reception on check in should have explained all of this upon check in, but maybe they are not trained, or maybe because our accomadation at pinecone is considered 4 star so they used lower quality staff. All the free stuff are a bit lame and service was poor except for the craft lady who actually showed us a wechat app for the hotel where free activity voucher can be found. They outsourced the activity area so that is really poor decision as it hurts the brand image due to service levels. For hotel staff, thumbs up to the shuttle ladies, who you call to get from one place to another. They are prompt and speedy.
Service: check in staff was professional but not warm. As mentioned, the activity area is outsourced so most staff are cold and seemed rude, except for the craft lady who was actually decent. But considering this resort and the type of guest, i would consider this really bad.
Cleaniness: the room is very clean, a bit worn (see pics of wall), but it feels quite clean.
DdyhxThe hotel has its own onsen area that's open to non-hotel guests. So the entrance starts with the shoe cabinets before reaching the front desk that serves both onsen day-use guests and hotel guests.
The Japanese themed room was luxurious. Very clean and impeccably maintained, good sound proofing I could hear a pin drop in the room. Double basins, Dyson hair dryer, bidet toilet bowl, standing shower and a huge zen sofa couch area by the window, complete with tea and chess set. Pity there's not much of a view out there. There's also no phone here, just a speaker by the bedside table or one can use WeChat to communicate with the front desk and of course robot deliveries.
Bed and pillow was too soft for my liking. Service is excellent and they even provide turn down service. I left the room for onsen and came back to a room where the curtains are drawn, a plate of fruits on the table, floor towel laid out in the shower area with the bath towel, originally under the basin, now hung on the door of the shower.
The stay package came with an Afternoon Tea set of fruits, desserts and crackers. The cheesecakes were meh but the pineapple tart made up for it. Fruits were fresh and yums.
In-house guests were given unlimited access to the Onsen and I took my time to enjoy it fully. It's a full Jap style onsen, meaning going fully naked. A rather small onsen with just 3 pools but the outdoor one was the best, soaking in 43 degrees pool in the cold. There's a chill out area outside including a lounge, meditation room and a movie-cum-reading room (what an irony though). They also have private onsen rooms for rent at additional costs.
Leisurely breakfast the next morning at 930am. Yes, I had to choose a specific hour to be at breakfast as it's a Jap bento set with a partial buffet (of noodles and porridge). Not outstanding for me.
But otherwise, it was 5* experience and I recommend this to anyone planning to come to Taicang to experience the onsen.
MMoAlantehOur stay at the Novotel Suzhou was nothing short of memorable! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service, which set the tone for an amazing experience for our entire family.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with a modern yet inviting ambiance that instantly made us feel at ease. We were particularly impressed by the range of facilities that catered to everyone in the family. The hot springs were a highlight for us, providing a tranquil escape and a perfect way to unwind and rejuvenate. The water was just right, and the surroundings were serene, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere.
The swimming pool was also a big hit, especially with the kids. Spacious and well-maintained, it offered plenty of room for swimming, splashing, and simply having fun. The kids’ playground was another wonderful feature that our children absolutely loved. It was well-designed, safe, and filled with engaging activities that kept them entertained while we enjoyed a bit of downtime.
Food at the Novotel Suzhou was a true treat! The morning brunch had a diverse selection of delicious items that catered to all tastes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making each meal a delightful experience. We looked forward to each dining experience, knowing there was something new to try and savor.
The afternoon brunch was another stand-out feature. It was a luxurious affair with a mix of international and local flavors that kept us coming back for more. The chefs clearly took pride in their craft, and it showed in every dish.
Overall, our stay at the Novotel Suzhou was filled with wonderful moments, from relaxing in the hot springs to enjoying family time at the pool and playground. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to create lasting family memories, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

DDaziranjuangudexiaoxiaoThis stay was a complete surprise from start to finish, and I have to rave about it! The hotel's surroundings are quiet and elegant, with exceptionally healing views. Every step offers a new scene that helps you relax and escape the city's hustle and bustle, making for a truly comfortable and pleasant stay.
It happened to be our 10th wedding anniversary, and after mentioning it briefly to the front desk, the hotel was incredibly thoughtful and upgraded us for free to a private hot spring courtyard room! The courtyard was quiet and private, and having our own hot spring was serene and romantic – it absolutely set the perfect mood, full of ceremony.
The room was clean and tidy, with a warm and comfortable layout, and attention to detail was evident everywhere. The service was gentle and attentive, warm and considerate without being intrusive. The entire experience was superb. From the environment and room type to the heartwarming service, everything was impeccable. It was a truly memorable stay, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

GGuest UserI was incredibly lucky to participate in the nature park and hotel's study tour during this stay, and it was a wonderful surprise! After the event, we even received a mysterious gift back at the hotel, and the adorable raccoons even offered a wake-up service. My child kept looking forward to the raccoons visiting the next morning.
The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with excellent soundproofing. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to take you wherever you need to go.
The breakfast selection was very rich, and while the taste was decent, nothing spectacular, it really captured the kids' interest, and they were very happy. However, there's room for improvement regarding the cleanliness of the tableware.
The staff I encountered at the hotel were all friendly and greeted us warmly. For families traveling with children, it would be great if bed rails were provided (though I didn't actively ask).
My child is still talking about the raccoons. We'll definitely be back to experience the hot springs in the future, and I hope they'll have similar activities again!
GGuest UserThis is my second time visiting Nanjing for a hot spring experience, and I'm very satisfied with Banyan Tree this time. I was a bit anxious before coming, but it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located within the Garden Expo Park. The day before arrival, the hotel added me to a chat group. My friend arrived earlier and helped me check in. We were traveling with a child, and the room had kid-sized slippers, towels, bathrobes, and toiletries. The hotel breakfast was very rich and delicious. During the day, we took our child to explore That Natural, Pioneer Bookstore, and the Cliffside Cafe. In the evening, we went to the Vietnamese restaurant for pho. Since the park's shuttle bus had stopped running, the hotel specially arranged a car for us, which was excellent. My child forgot to print some homework and only remembered at night. I sent it to the butler in the chat group, and they helped print it and delivered it to us that night. The hotel's hot spring was also very quiet with few people, almost like having the place to ourselves. The hot spring in our room was also disinfected and filled with fresh water for each use, which was fantastic. I've already recommended it to my friends!

AAring172I chose Banyan Tree Suzhou for a high-intensity review during earnings season. I didn't have very high expectations before booking; I just wanted something quiet, clean, and with convenient dining. Driving here was incredibly easy – just stay in the left lane on the highway all the way. A big thank you to the hotel's hospitable ambassador, 'Alice Xiaoxiao,' who was very thoughtful and accommodating. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the beautiful Suzhou-style garden, especially the vibrant mix of red and green maple leaves. The hotel kindly upgraded my room, which I really appreciate. Photo 1 shows the delightful view from my bedroom. The hotel also offers various pillow types – down, memory foam, and firm foam – ensuring a good night's sleep. A spa treatment was a must, and as soon as masseuse Sophia started, I could tell she was a true professional. It was definitely worth experiencing, just as other reviewers had said.
