I travel almost every month. This hotel is definitely the best value for money around. Very pleasant surprise.
In terms of location, the hotel is five or six hundred meters away from the skycity. It is closer to Queen Street and Victoria Street. The Asian supermarket opposite the hotel is very convenient. The hotel location is good so it is quiet
In terms of facilities, the electrical appliances of this hotel are better than five-star hotels. I am so surprised that I often travel on business, so I have stayed in many five-star hotels. The household things are very high-end. Panasonic TV LG refrigerator is Australian brand Westinghouse appliances and furniture are very new and very new What brand of oven I forgot is also a very good brand The toiletries and tea bags and coffee in the room are complete, even the tea cups are Australian brand maxwell and williams The bone china is very good texture than the things used by five-star hotels. The kitchen has an induction cooker, a range hood, a kettle, etc. The sofa in the room is also very spacious.
In terms of service, the hotel owner and front desk are very nice. The staff can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. There is a free upgrade. Amazing. There is a lock up garage. The garage is safe and convenient. The room has free mineral water and tea bags. Discounts on taxis

We had extra high expectations of the brand and so we have to admit that it’s not exactly amazing. It is good for nearby stays to the airport. The shuttle bus costs $8/pax one way and is convenient as it is 24 hours. There is no lift so if you have heavy luggage, you might need help. There are porters but we didn’t use this service. All in all, it checks all the boxes but somehow does not amaze. The food was particularly disappointing but only because we ordered 2 portions of the fish and chips - it was chewy! 😂 The burger was good, however. The beds were comfy; the a/c works but although we had it at 16C, it felt like 24C.FromMYR 492

This is my third stay here. The location is unbeatable, close to the Sky Tower! It's so convenient for dining and shopping! This is an older hotel, so the facilities are what you'd expect from a 20-year-old four-star hotel. If modern facilities are a priority for you, this might not be the best choice. I have stayed here before and had a good experience. Which made me come back... however this time we were placed in a room directly underneath the restaurant. So late evening and early morning we were able to hear shoes clapping chairs dragging and the occasional banging. Not great for a restful restorative sleep! We also had no internet access in the room! And strangely... although check out time was 10 am we had a cleaner knock on our door and attempt to enter before 9am... and ask us when we were leaving! felt a little rushed! I did mention these apon leaving to reception it was blown off as unimportant and suggested I request a different room next time. I recently stayed at the Mövenpick Hotel Auckland and wanted to extend a special thank you to the amazing team, especially Moira and Christian Jose.
During my stay, the elevators were undergoing maintenance, which could easily have made things inconvenient for guests. Instead, Moira went above and beyond to look after myself and many other guests. She was constantly checking in, offering assistance, giving clear updates, and doing it all with a warm, professional attitude. Her outstanding support truly turned a potentially frustrating situation into a very manageable one.
I would also like to thank Christian Jose for his kindness and helpful service throughout my stay. His friendly manner and willingness to help did not go unnoticed and added to the overall positive experience at the hotel.
Despite the elevator maintenance, the service from Moira, Christian Jose, and the rest of the team ensured my stay remained comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend Mövenpick Hotel Auckland and deeply appreciate the efforts of these staff members.FromMYR 554

Hotel with a central location. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Check-in was not informative at all. The staff seem to know very little about the meaning of hospitality, especially at the reception and in the restaurant. The restaurant staff at breakfast were poorly qualified or interns, and the supervision made no effort to help.
There was a concierge, but they were never available when needed. The business center had a broken printer, and the swimming pool looked more like a public pool than a relaxing area, with an unpleasant atmosphere.
In my opinion, the hotel does not reflect a 5-star standard. The room was cleaned just the day before my departure, even with the “Please clean my room” sign on.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by lovely staff who were so helpful and kind and we even got to check in early!! It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and we were given a complimentary cake which was delicious and a great surprise for my husband, our room had heart balloons on the bed when we arrived also and did a I mention a free minibar!! I had a lovely massage followed by steam room and sauna. The room service was a good price, no hidden fees as others had mentioned in their reviews. In NZ it is normal to hold a room bond so to us it was no surprise. Only two things that wasn’t great but not the staffs fault 1. Children running screaming down the hallway stomping from 6:30am, I had to open our door and tell them people are sleeping. 2. Level 2 in the pinnacle tower is awfully close to the bus stop where we were and a busy road, traffic was still very loud at 12am. We will be back and request a higher room. The small facade, really small, has to be carefully scolded, or missed, the door is not like a five-star hotel. The hotel lobby is also small, and the lobby of several hotels in New Zealand is small. The whole hotel is very interesting from the appearance to the room. The restaurant is especially beautiful. There are not many food choices and the taste is OK.
