We spent one week in July 2018 at this residence. We had a three room apartment which was clean and in good condition although very basic. Aircondition was nor included in the rate. The balcony was facing the car park with good views to the mountains but unfortunately also to the high way and a fairly loud bar (Power Slave). At times the pool was busy and opening hours were limited (9.30-19.30) ie. no morning or evening swim. Premises were nice and clean but also worn out. Overall very good location for touring this part of Italy but price vs value is questionable.

We arrived mid July to stay in this charming residence with 2 friends from England, ready to show them the delights of Marina di Carrara and also the historic old town of Carrara with its quarries and area of outstanding beauty. We were made very welcome and were pleased to be shown our very comfortable bedrooms with a nice big really comfortable bed and adjoining modern shower and toilet.Attractive decor, and air conditioning was a welcome addition so our room was kept nice and cool.Everything very clean and plenty of fresh towels for our use.We loved the little garden in front and at the side and it was great to come back midday and relax there for a while.Breakfast was served in a bright airy room just off the garden, where there was more than enough to eat, with cerials, rolls, cheeses, cold meats, fruit and an easy to use good coffee machine.I must thank and praise the owners for making gluten free items available, which made life a lot easier. It is a family run B and B and everyone was most welcoming and helpful and friendly to us.Must add the pick up service from Pisa airport was a real bonus to us both arriving and leaving and reasonable for 4 + luggage.Thankyou for a memorable holiday.Am sure we will return.

Hotels Near Bagno Il Cavallino In Sarzana Review

I recently stayed for a work trip. Even amongst these times, I’m never ceased to be amazed. The hotel was 10/10 as far as cleanliness. Sheets, linens, bathrooms public areas. All immaculate. The staff was very friendly, helpful and I could tell they spoke many languages. They were advising others on good nearby eating and sites to see. Felt very private and quiet. I would never guess this is a 2 star hotel. I’ve stayed at many 2 stars places, that you hope to never encounter, in your worst dreams. This place felt like you were staying at a 4/5 star hotel and I was definitely treated, that way. I am definitely looking forward to staying here again and I highly recommend it for a short weekend or a ten day holiday.

This is a wonderful little hotel with six rooms above its downstairs restaurant. The rooms are spotlessly clean, include a mini-fridge and have balconies overlooking the hotel's pool. The balconies have a small table and two chairs and are separated by honeysuckle hedges. The grounds are beautifully kept with a manicured lawn around the pool and flowers blooming everywhere. There is ample free parking and an elevator to get heavy luggage up to the rooms. Breakfast is included and the breakfast buffet is well stocked with many more offerings than the croissant and coffee typical of some European hotels. There are varieties of yogourt, breads, sliced ham ad cheese, cakes, cereals and both cut and whole fruit. A great way to start the day! The owner was incredibly helpful. We arrived having had a flat tire on our rental car. We had changed the tire on the side of the road ourselves and had no success contacting Avis by phone as our Italian was not up to navigating their automated phone messages. The hotel's owner took it upon himself to call Avis on our behalf and determine that the closest rental location had no cars available and that we would have to drive to the Pisa airport to get a new car. He made multiple calls for us and negotiated everything with Avis. Without his gracious help we have been at a loss. We looked forward to getting back to the hotel each day. It was an oasis of calm during a busy vacation. Our room became a safe haven where we could relax, open the windows and door and gaze out on the patio. What an enjoyable place.

Our air conditioning unit began to leak badly and the carpet floor was soaked. We were immediately offered another room. But the air conditioning unit was not working properly. This room had an area of mould around the bath & the tap was about to fall out of the wall. We were offered another room, this time with an upgrade to a junior suite, which had two rooms, but the following morning we realised that this too had a badly leaking air conditioning unit. The floor again was soaked. We improvised by soaking up as much water as possible with the bath towels, weary at the thought of changing rooms again, as we were only there for 5 days. At this point the wardrobe door almost came off in my hands. In the suite, which is for 4, we had two plastic cups & one tea bag! The staff, apart from one kind lady, were surly and un helpful. The pool area was uninviting and almost totally cornered off. There were very restrictive opening hours to the pool, which made in inaccessible for most of our stay. The breakfast was disappointing. The croissants were not fresh and the fruit salad came out of a tin. It was disappointing not to have orange juice, just a highly processed fruit tropical drink instead. The bonus of having a spa was irrelevant as the hotel charged a 15 euro entry fee for hotel guests. This was probably once a very nice hotel, but it seems that some serious investment is necessary. We travel frequently to this area but I am sorry to say that we will not be going back.

Antico Casale is beautifully situated on the edge of town in a rural location. Gorgeous views surrounded by farmland. Our hosts were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We understood that it was walking distance to the town. Whilst technically it is and we did so on the first night, I wouldn't recommend the walk home along unlit lanes with no footpaths. Well positioned for outings to Pisa, Florence & Cinque Terre etc. An affordable apartment which was basic but comfortable. It was an apartment for 3 but only really suited for 2 as the sofa bed was in the dining room. Main bed was wonderfully comfortable. Kitchen was very basic. No kettle was provided, however we requested one and the hosts happily provided one. Only a small thing but the only cups available were espresso cups which weren't suitable for a cup of tea. Again the host obliged and went as far as to tell us to keep them as a souvenir. Pool and grounds were wonderful - secluded and peaceful. The weekend functions whilst lovely to see could be quite noisy. Whilst we understood and wouldn't want to spoil their fun, the celebrations ran on quite late and 1 night I was woken up at 12:30 am by the music. Breakfast was relaxed and pleasant. Loved the different croissant and yoghurt varieties, though it did become a bit repetitive. Wouldn't really consider self catering in such a limited kitchen. Sadly the restaurant wasn't open to guests so you need to go out for food. This was a good place which could be great with some tweaks. Kettles as standard would be an improvement and also the inclusion of outdoor furniture for the veranda. We had just 1 chair by the door. It's the little things that make a big difference.
