The hotel is a legendary hotel that opened in 1913 and has been 110 years ago. It is the same hotel where Queen Elizabeth stayed. The front desk upgraded the room type to a top floor room. The room has a large usable space, the bathroom is large, and the equipment is LeLabo. The gym and swimming pool are on the B1 floor of the hotel. The swimming pool is not large, but the temperature of the pool is very comfortable. What impressed me most about this hotel is the Hawthorn Lounge on the first floor of the hotel. Breakfast is served a la carte, with dedicated service. At the end of the meal, a postcard from the hotel is given to you. The location of the hotel is very convenient, just one step away from Calgary Tower and Wonderland Sculpture; the room service is fast.FromPLN 644

Did not eat breakfast, but the lunch on the first floor restaurant was ok, the room was large, the double room seemed to allow four people, because the four of us opened two rooms, the front desk started to make a mistake and thought we were one Room, and then gave us four room cards, did not say nothing wrong, and later learned that it is two rooms. There is a small swimming pool on the first floor, and the environment is ok. The double beds in the double room are large, with a balcony, a coffee machine, and hygiene. Location strategic as there are fewer homeless people around compared with the 7th Avenue or core shopping area, and I didn't feel unsafe during my stay. It's near Chinatown too. I however do not particularly like this hotel as there's no kettle inside the room, air conditioning is rather strong and couldn't be adjusted except the temperature. Nothing to eat nearby and the restaurant on 2/F requires booking. The hotel doesn't have a character itself. My husband, son & I stayed here for one night. The location is great. It’s near to restaurants, the city and airport. The hotel is pretty clean and so was our room and bathroom. We enjoyed our stay. The water park, swimming pool and hot tub was a great amenity which my 7 year old enjoyed a lot. We didn’t have problems with parking either. I always enjoy my stay at Deerfoot Inn & Casino. The purpose of my trip was to hang out with my sister and catch up on our lives. The deluxe queen room was spacious and welcoming. I found a stain on the top sheet when the cover topper fell away. Just looked like a coffee stain, but jeez?! We went down to the buffet for supper, and the prime rib and scalloped potatoes were delicious, as well as the other entries. After we ate, we sat in the lounge next to the restaurant. I loved the big, comfortable chairs we chose to sit on. When I got up to use the ladies' room, my hips were out of sorts for several steps because the chairs are sitting too low. Not our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today!
It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so
minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered.
Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”.
After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card.
Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge.
“No apologies or thank you for staying with us”.
Disappointing.

The hotel itself was nice and is located close to the airport which was convenient for my purposes. The room was nice and the bed was really comfortable and that was important to me as I only stayed there a handful of hours to catch some sleep before catching a delayed connection. The only thing I didn't like was that after using the taxi to get to the airport, which the front desk person kindly called, I was informed that I should have been given a voucher because the shuttle service at the hotel was down due to the cold and the vehicle they use not working properly, which I wasn't given. As such I paid for the taxi out of pocket ($15) which isn't a big deal but comes across as being a bit cheap. Check in was made very easy! Rooms are big and renovated. They have great wifi and it was clean. Pool was great and fun only downside on the weekend was having to book an hour time slot to use the pool. Would book again!FromPLN 310

We loved our experience at The Dorian! Room was beautiful with so many details covered. Bathroom was huge (hard to find these days) and we especially loved the details in the wet bar cart. Service was friendly from check in to check out. We did not eat on site, but the location was in walking distance to our dinner date. Only negative was the cleaning staff talking loudly in the hallway at 9 am for about 20 minutes. I should have let them know their voices carried into our room, but instead didn't say anything...I regret that after the fact. All in all, we had a great time and will for sure book at the Dorian again!FromPLN 674

The plan is not as good as the changing trip to Calgary. Fortunately, it was a great surprise and joy along the River Ridge Hotel. I stayed for 4 consecutive nights. The room space, facilities, common living room layout and breakfast snacks were all done in place and intimate. It’s really comfortable to make breakfast and sit in the sun every morning. The hotel environment is not to mention, just by the Bao River, there are two different styles of riverside parks at both ends. Even if you visit the hotel around the hotel, you can enjoy the autumn colors and different scenery of Canada.FromPLN 210

The hotel is friendly to families, with complete facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. This hotel shares a gym, swimming pool, and self-service laundry with another Marriott hotel nearby, which is also very convenient. The sofa bed is not very big, but it is no problem to sleep two children, but be careful about the edges of the sofa bed. I booked a corner room at the far end, which is larger but a bit far from the elevator. It's still OK for a one-night layover at Calgary Airport before going to Banff, but it's a bit old.FromPLN 518

The room was good, big enough, the furniture was new, the sofa and bed were very comfortable.
The front desk service of the hotel is polite and thoughtful, and the leisure area in the lobby is very spacious and warm.
If you want to talk about the shortcomings, the breakfast provided by the hotel is a set meal but needs to be ordered in the accompanying restaurant menu. The content is cumbersome and the waiter feedback is very slow. It always says I will come back without any constructive suggestions. Hotel guests should be arranged a concise version of the package, which is convenient for guests in a hurry to save time. In addition, the waiter in the restaurant, especially an older man, was very impatient. The bread type not reflected on the menu was not willing to explain more, because there was no tip?FromPLN 440

It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so
minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered.
Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”.
After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card.
Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge.
“No apologies or thank you for staying with us”.
Disappointing.
Side note - Service in the casino was great - including the restaurant.
