Our train back from Machu Picchu was delayed, so we didn't get to the hotel until 10 PM. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a cozy warmth. The turndown service was already complete, and there was even a hot water bottle. It was hands down the best night's sleep we've had so far on this trip. The hotel itself is incredibly stylishly decorated. Breakfast is a buffet, but you can also order à la carte. The coffee is excellent too. Highly recommend!

The hotel has a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Arms Square. The room was spacious, with a large and comfortable bed, and was clean and well-equipped. The service was excellent; they poured me a cup of local altitude sickness-relieving tea as soon as I arrived, and helped with my luggage when I came in and out of the hotel. The breakfast was also good, not lavish, but it had everything I needed.

The location is good, just near the Temple of the Sun. Although the suite area is a bit roundabout, it is a historical building after all, and was the communication room for the Inca Empire to convey orders (the Inca civilization did not develop writing). The breakfast is quite satisfactory. Because of the historical building, the wall is relatively thin, and the noise is still relatively loud. As a 50-square-meter suite, there is enough space for a bathtub but there is only a huge shower room... Is it because of the high altitude of Greater Cusco?

Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio.

I stayed at this hotel twice; in between I went to Macchu Pichu and left the baggage at the hotel. Location wise - it’s very central with a PeruRail office next door albeit the other ones are not too far. Reception is 24hr and there is a nice courtyard with a restaurant as well as a common area with a kitchen at the back. I stayed in the Teepee tent on both occasions; first time the rate was more affordable at around gbp40/night. In July, the night gets cold. But the tent does have additional blankets and a heater. This worked except on the last night as it seems it stopped in middle of the night. Without the heater, the room was quite cold. The common bathroom is at the back; the showers are ok and you get enough privacy. I noticed the hot water does take a while to come through. I left the baggage in the storage - no issues. Overall good but for same price bracket I would try somewhere else.

This hotel absolutely exceeded my expectations. Located in the heart of Cusco, it's incredibly convenient for getting around and finding restaurants. Converted from a monastery over several years, the entire hotel is beautiful and grand, a perfect blend of history and modernity. I was also pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite for free. The room was filled with a sense of tranquility, and I slept comfortably at Cusco's high altitude. The breakfast was also plentiful. The only downsides were the slightly noisy air conditioning and the soft pillows, but I still highly recommend this hotel!

Staff at Tierra Viva were lovely and welcoming upon arrival, assisted with bags to our rooms, which were clean and comfortable. One of the rooms opened to a busy road, but shutters and double glazed windows allowed no noise, so we had a comfortable sleep. The buffet breakfast was great and you could some basic breakfast things including eggs made to order. We would definitely book again, thank you Tierra Viva~~

I arrived in the hotel found that the bath tub doesn’t have stopper so asked them to provide stopper but was given a day later and there is no hand wash provided. No soap provided on my last day. Also the hotel staff asked me to pay additional $55.00 as they don’t seem to have record of my arrival to Peru and I have come illegally to Peru.. I have to argue about it and finally they found my arrival details. Breakfast is fantastic and cleanliness is good as well.. Apart from minor issues it is good..near to all amenities .

This was an absolutely FANTASTIC stay experience and I recommend it to all travellers to Cusco. The house is conveniently located in the historic centre of Cusco and you can easily access restaurants, cafes, main attractions within a few minutes of walking. The Wanchaq train station is at most a 20-minute walk on the main street of Cusco, thereby making it very safe and easy at any time of the day. Taking an Uber, it is around 20 to 30-minute drive to the Cusco Airport, costing less than PEN 20. The main gates are locked at night for safety, though all staff will make sure that front desk service is still available 24 hours for anyone needing to exit or enter the premises. Communications is conveniently maintained through WhatsApp and made very easy. There is some street noise in the rooms at night including music playing from nearby shops, but that seems to be more prevalent on the weekends. The room and bathroom are well-maintained and have all the necessary amenities, including welcoming packets of coca tea. There is an electric heater in the room for nights with lower temperatures. Breakfast is made-to-order for every item, and it feels like a private restaurant experience. Eggs cooked any way are of top quality; juices are freshly squeezed; breads are toasted warm; coffee and tea are made fresh and refilled at a moment's notice; and the fruit salads are filled with copious amount of fresh fruit. Service is all top notch: homemade breakfast every morning, housekeeping at appropriate times, 24-hour service for late-night arrivals or early-morning departures, and answering questions for travellers - the hosts are absolutely warm and welcoming in every way possible. They also generously kept my large luggage in storage while I travelled to Machu Picchu for two days (coming back to stay again after), which made my trip very convenient. Again, I would recommend this to all travellers to Cusco, especially considering that the value for money is amazing.

The photos don't do justice to the place! The hotel is fantastic--the location is close enough to the attractions but just outside of the main tourist area since it's up on the hillside, so it's the perfect combination of convenience and relaxation. The check-in process was so welcoming, we felt at home as soon as stepping into the hotel's courtyard. The views from the hotel were unbelievable; the breakfast was great; the rooms were very clean and has all the comforts you'd need. And don't miss the llamas in the backyard! The restaurant staff didn't seem very experienced but it was sufficient.

A special mention to Wilma, who went the extra mile to accommodate our request to change to a room with a queen bed instead of two standard beds—her helpfulness made a big difference. The room is a nice, clean bed, a good balcony with a view on Cusco, very comfortable to sleep. The bathroom is very large, good water pressure, so it was important to rest after an active day. At the reception I cooperated with two men - provided me invaluable help, organized breakfast in boxes on the road, brought burnishes of coffee, showed ancient ruins in the hotel basement, were very nice and kind, so pleasant such attitude to tourists. The room is a nice, clean bed, a good balcony with a view on Cusco, very comfortable to sleep. The bathroom is very large, good water pressure, so it was important to rest after an active day. The hotel converted into an ancient house is quite large inside and very local. There are many public rest areas and the courtyard landscape is beautiful. There are often surprises in corners, antique furniture decoration, and the atmosphere is full. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is large. There is a separate toilet and shower room. The independent balcony can rest and enjoy the street view. Luggage can be stored at the front desk and 2 minutes walk from the weapons square in the city center.

The photos don't do justice to the place! The hotel is fantastic--the location is close enough to the attractions but just outside of the main tourist area since it's up on the hillside, so it's the perfect combination of convenience and relaxation. The check-in process was so welcoming, we felt at home as soon as stepping into the hotel's courtyard. The views from the hotel were unbelievable; the breakfast was great; the rooms were very clean and has all the comforts you'd need. And don't miss the llamas in the backyard! The restaurant staff didn't seem very experienced but it was sufficient.

Да, This is a wonderful place to stay in Cusco. The hotel is cozy, clean, and has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent — perfect for walking around the city and relaxing after a long day. A special highlight is the breakfast — absolutely divine. Everything is fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, with a great variety. You can really feel the care for guests. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended.

The hotel has a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Arms Square. The room was spacious, with a large and comfortable bed, and was clean and well-equipped. The service was excellent; they poured me a cup of local altitude sickness-relieving tea as soon as I arrived, and helped with my luggage when I came in and out of the hotel. The breakfast was also good, not lavish, but it had everything I needed.

The room facilities are complete and the reception is warm. The staff even provided alcohol to facilitate our handling of the wound. The hotel is decorated in a simple and elegant environment. The breakfast is also good, mainly because it feels great to live in the backyard of the monastery.

This is a small, cozy, and unpretentious hotel. The rooms are clean, with soft, warm beds and plenty of pillows. The breakfast spread is compact and just right, not overly luxurious, but comes with delicious coffee and refreshing fruit juice. The reception staff are very helpful. The location is great, close to the square and tourist attractions, and feels safe. I do have a suggestion for improvement regarding housekeeping preparing the rooms. During my first stay before going up to Machu Picchu, the sugar for the drinks wasn't refilled. And during my second stay after coming down from Machu Picchu, there was a significant amount of feces left in the toilet, with a foul odor, as if housekeeping hadn't attended to it. This area needs to be checked, strictly monitored, and the good service quality maintained. I wouldn't want this small issue to negatively impact all the other positive aspects of the hotel. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

The more expensive rooms were nice but we had stayed in hotels about half the price of this place that were just as nice. The breakfast here wasn't included and was quite basic compared to all the other places we've stayed that included breakfast. Location Is great, only a block from main plaza. It wasn't horrible but if you have the time then it might be better to keep looking just in case.
