The EKHO hotel is on the edge of Eller town, not far from the main street, making it easy to travel. The characteristics of a good hotel are: clean, quiet, comfortable and modern, rich breakfast, and warm staff. Seems very ordinary ... However, isn't it very unusual to encounter a hotel without regret during the trip.

I have to admit, we absolutely loved our stay here. The people were so accommodating and friendly. The location is on a steep hill, most cars won't make it up but walking down and up takes about 5 minutes or a tub tuk can get you there. The view is amazing and worth the walk. It's so close to the main road and close to main attractions (about 20min walk) the room was comfortable, warm, clean. The breakfast was some fruit, with eggs made according to your choice, some toast and they even let us try the coconut pancakes which were so yummy. Everything was amazing. We were so happy there and will definitely stay there again.SOLD OUT

It's close to the station so you can walk if you don't have a lot of luggage. The location is good. There is no cooler probably because the location of the hotel is cool. On a hillside, the road is extremely difficult to find. Opposite is the woods, there are monkeys, squirrels, birds, very ecological, so there must be mosquitoes. The hotel is excellent, everything you need in the room is there, even slippers, furniture and plumbing have been updated. It is located near the street with restaurants, 5 minutes down the hill. Walking to the start of the trail to the nine-arch bridge is about 20 minutes. We had a room with a stunning view, mountains and a waterfall are visible from the window. Good for value. The location is very good, it’s at end of the town, convenient to go hiking and the restaurants. It’s quiet at night. The room is very clean. The owner is friendly. He gave us a pot of tea to welcome us when we arrive. Also he provided us the bus schedule information and advices for the time in Ella.

The hotel is on the hillside, with a good mountain view, the room bathroom is super large, the only room that is not damp in the 20 days of living in Sri Lanka, if there is air conditioning, it will be perfect.
 It is more than 20 minutes' drive from Ella Town.  Ella is mostly sloped . It is basically a curved path to various hotels and homestays. It is very suitable for  people who want to be quarantined for a few days to live for a few days. I especially want to praise their service team. The hotel has incredibly beautiful views, the windows overlook the cliff, the jungle, tea plantations. The breakfast is good, hearty. The staff is very responsive, always ready to help. It's cool at night, so ask for extra blankets.
The only downside is the pedestrian road to the hotel, as half of it is on concrete, the other half is on the ground, where there are leeches in the wet season, they have time to stick to you in 4 minutes of walking.
The hotel can only be reached by tuk-tuk along a narrow road, the staff kindly gave us a ride to the car on the day of our departure.

On the maps Trip.com The hotel has an incorrect address. The photos are old, with the words of the owner ten years ago. Now the hotel looks different and is not on the first and last line, as in the photo: you have the roof of other houses under the feet.
I do not know what ‘privacy' people from other reviews are talking about. As I think, there was no privacy and there was no close: noise isolation is very bad, we stopped for two nights and every night woke up 3-4 once from someone's voices, crying a child under the door at 6 a.m., some other sounds.... this is the biggest minus : (Still in the bath ants crawled. And the floor was dirty, something constantly sticking on the feet, had to walk in shoes in the room. In the refrigerator, black pelvic, pelvic on free bottles of water.
According to Ella's measure, the hotel is quite far from the center, 500 meters, and the road to the center is constantly going from the mountain to the mountain, you get tired of climbing constantly. But the view is very beautiful from the window
The host of the hotel was kind and pleasant, and his brother was a very pleasant man who took us before our next stop. Results do yourself

This is a B&B-style hotel. While the entrance is a bit difficult to find, chartering a car is easy, public transportation is difficult to reach. The room is spacious, bug-free, and offers mountain views. The restaurant is reasonably priced, and the breakfast is simple, but with freshly made omelets, it's quite good. The staff were friendly, but a bit overly helpful. They offered tea and water at breakfast, but they were actually looking for a tip. Since I didn't have cash with me that morning, I went upstairs, saying I'd give them money. They chased me from the second floor to the fourth and asked me how my breakfast was at my door. Their intentions were obvious. Fortunately, considering the prices at Ella, I gave them 200 rupees and they happily left, which was acceptable.FromSEK 378

Отель отлично расположен к центральной улице с магазинами и ресторанами. Номера очень большие.
Но есть минусы: 1. Наш номер выходил на улочку, по которой ездят все туристы к своим отелям на вершине. Шум от байков и тук-туков очень сильный до полуночи, а так же может быть ночью и активно начинается с 6 утра. Если ваш номер будет выходить к центральному входу, думаю, там тише.
2. Окна в отеле имеют естественное кондиционирование, т.е. верхняя часть окна без стекла, только решетка, поэтому очень сильно слышно, что происходит на улице. В эту решетку залетают комары, хотя в номере и включен фумигатор, но в первую ночь нас покусали, на вторую мы включили ещё один прям возле кровати, и все было хорошо.
3. В городе Элла ночью около +14, поэтому в комнате тоже холодно из-за открытых проемов в окнах, запаситесь теплой пижамой и носочками.
Завтраки большие, много всего приносят, всё вкусно. Есть парковка перед домом, хозяева очень милые.FromSEK 340

I'd like to share more than just a review, but a sincere thank you for several days of absolute peace and pleasure. It wasn't a typical vacation, but a true recharge.
This villa is in a stunning location, surrounded by green hills and tea plantations!
The hotel has only two spacious rooms, both with balconies and panoramic views. Everything is clean and tidy.
There were four of us traveling, and it felt like the house was ours! It was amazing! Breakfast was prepared on time, and it was varied over both days. Large portions, everything was delicious: fruit, roti, burgers, several egg options, pancakes, and drinks to choose from.
Nearby there's a picturesque railway bridge and a restaurant serving local cuisine. The city center is a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride along the serpentine roads.
Special thanks to the hotel owner and manager, who were always ready to help, share information, and offer assistance!
