Glorious kitchen/living room and terrace with lovely river views to Polruan.The spaceAccessed via its own front door, this luxurious apartment provides accommodation for 6, with a lovely open plan kitchen living room benefitting from a multitude of views/aspects over Fowey and from the terrace and living room over to Polruan. There are 3 bedrooms, a master on the top floor with private ensuite bathroom with shower and iconic views from the bath, a further twin/superking on the first floor sharing a shower room with a lovely cabin room designed and crafted by a local artist/cabinet maker to provide a fun "young room" for sleeping, gaming and TV watching. This apartment can be combined with the one bedroom apartment on the ground floor to provide an excellent "multigenerational" holiday house or simply a large holiday home for two families needing their own separate space.Guest accessThe apartment is superbly located on the path down from the main town car park. Whilst luggage drop off is quite easy from an easily accessible road above the property we don't recommend driving to the house although road access is possible for those with limited mobility. It is also a perfect jumping-off point for trips further afield, whether to access Cornwall's beautiful coasts or visit attractions such as the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The house has much to offer, whether for couples looking for a relaxed getaway, walkers and dog owners seeking an escape after a hard day on the Cornish cliffs, or families running straight into the downstairs shower room to wipe away the sand from a day on the beach surfing and making sand castles. Set in one of the most attractive parts of Fowey, Seaweed Cottage will prove to be a great hit with all ages.The property boasts a wealth of character including beamed ceilings, a feature fireplace in the lounge with an electric fire, designer furnishings and unrivalled views of the sea, harbour mouth and the beach. The cottage benefits from a larger than expected front garden, which consists of lawn, slate walls and seaside plants. Towards the end of the garden, there are some delightful marine and coastal views of Readymoney Cove, which can be enjoyed from the raised patio area which is provided for outside dining.The property is accessed through a porch into a slate hung entrance hall with door way to a light spacious breakfast room with a large oak dining table and chairs, under stairs cupboard housing the fridge/freezer and views over the garden and out to sea. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped and includes a gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and butler sink.Across the hallway there is a charming beamed sitting room with stone floor, colour TV, DVD, leather sofas, and antique furniture. There are delightful views across the garden and out to sea from this room.The stairs lead up from the hallway to the bathroom which has a shower over the bath, WC and small wash hand basin. Bedroom 1 and 2 have a double bed, built in wardrobe and cupboards and super views of the sea. Perfect for dog owners, families and friends.The spaceWhat makes Pella so special is, you are not restricted to its large private garden and orchard, but have access to the woods and fields which make up the 12 acres of grounds. Once an ancient hamlet dating back to the 13th century, Little Pinnock, Pella is one of three detached houses which we fell in love with and now let as holiday cottages.This is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life but still be only a few miles from the historic harbour town of Fowey and the surrounding beaches. Our children loved building dens, having adventures, playing hide and seek in the woods or splashing about in the shallow stream before returning with rosy cheeks and hearty appetites. For the less energetic there is a large south facing patio, perfect for soaking up the sun or an evening BBQ with a chilled glass of your choice.Entering the cottage, you are welcomed by an open plan high beamed living area with a large log fire to warm any chilly evening. (The cottage also has central heating). At the other end of the room is the well equipped Kitchen diner with seating for six people. Along a small corridor and down two steps you’ll find the large master bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom with a Victorian roll top bath.Upstairs you’ll find a small hallway, shower room/toilet and the second bedroom with its oak beams and sloping ceilings. This bedroom has both a double and a single bed with views across the orchard.Guest accessPella has its own private garden but guests have access to the woods and fields which are shared with two other holiday homes on the 12 acre grounds. |0.3km from city centerI'm not really sure where to start reviewing the Harbour Hotel in Fowey - part of me doesn't want to publicise how fantastic this place is! We really enjoyed our stay - we really didn't want to leave! The helpful and friendly staff (Karina on our last evening at dinner was particularly brilliant), excellent food (we had a cream tea, breakfasts and dinner) and a superb room with a stunning view over the bay. The hotel's position in Fowey is fantastic - allowing short walks to the centre, the harbour and walks - as well as having those jaw-dropping views from the bar/restaurant. Thank you for your hospitality and we'd love to come back and stay again!
