Check in to the Cliffs of Moher in the west of Ireland. The nearest big city is Galway. Galway has few good hotels to choose from. Jury inn is a good choice. The location is next to the Spanish arch in the city center. Very close. Self-driving cars can be parked in the underground parking garage on the right side of the hotel door. An overnight car of 10 euros is not expensive. Although the hotel is old, the room facilities are good, and the breakfast is also a standard English breakfast, it is recommended!

I visited Metropole Hotel with my family during our last vacay in Greece. It was the first time that we visited this part of Greece and we are really satisfied with our hotel choice. Everyone who works in the hotel is really friendly and helpful, providing tips about the near beaches as well as restaurants or "taverna" in the local area and in Litochoro. Both of the rooms that we booked were clean and quite throughout the day. Also, the breakfast was quite good, the best start for our days. I would recommend this family business as a place to stay and relax during your holidays and definitely great as value for money. Thanks for everything once again!

We stayed in The Maryborough Hotel in Cork (just before Covid-19) and it was the most relaxing, joyous experience. For my job, I travel to many hotels but this is definitely my favourite. It is my place to go to totally relax, be surrounded by fun, welcoming and helpful staff and visually, it is beautiful to be surrounded by gardens, flowers and billowing trees. The deluxe rooms are divine, with large glass doors and a terrace outside to sit and enjoy nature. The spa treatments are divinely relaxing and the thermal suite is dimly lit and has a warm, thermal pool to ease the body and mind. A wonderful way to finish your evening is to dine in Bellini's Restaurant in the hotel. A very special thanks to Mia Walsh, the Manager who goes over and beyond to help you in any way possible and who makes the experience so enjoyable. Also, a special thanks to Katie in reception and Martina in Bellini's Restaurant for their professionalism and friendliness. I stay here on a regular basis and it is always a huge pleasure. I would highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to returning again after Christmas.

Nestled in the heart of Cork city, arriving thru the gates of Hayfield Manor is like stepping through a porthole. Away from the busy streets of Cork city yet right in the middle of the city, Hayfield Manor is a step away and into a world of relaxation second to none. The impeccably kept grounds that welcome you to the Manor give a true sense of anticipated relaxation, the typical Cork welcome by the doorman reinforces this. The building itself is beautifully furnished in traditional style while still being fit for it purpose of hospitality. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the room was very well presented. Only downside was the Shower/ Bath facility in the Bathroom which needs to be upgraded to modern walk in shower rather than the old shower over bath. The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, and the staff were second to none. The staff’s knowledge was impeccable regarding the food they were serving both on content and cooking methods which made the whole dining experience wonderful. Also, the staff were happy to relate what dishes on the menu were new and the fact that they were interested in feedback regarding them. Simply put the dining experience was wonderful. Overall, our two-night stay was very enjoyable, made so by the wonderful staff who did everything to make it so and make sure guests were kept as safe as possible during the pandemic.

It was my husbands 50th birthday party last weekend and we had chosen the Charleville Park hotel. We were absolutely thrilled. I was worried as we had guests arriving from all over the world, many used to five star service. Charleville Park and it’s staff exceeded our expectations. Professional and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. The food was superb. My husband is South Africans so I asked them to make a special Durban dish - Bunny Chow ( picture below) . It was amazing! So authentic. I also requested baked Alaska, as it’s my husbands favorite dessert and even though it wasn’t on the option list, they came up with the most delicious baked Alaska I’ve ever had. Throughout the night my guest kept commenting on how good the food was! Sheila couldn’t do enough. Padraig was the perfect host and a big shout out to Nicole Earls who anticipated my every need. She even took some photos and video and airdropped them to me! Josh in the residence bar put up with our singsong until way past our bedtime, always with a smile. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Bravo all! We will be back for our next event.

Just arrived home from a family/girlie weekend in this fabulous City or Cork where the weekend could of been horrific after a lockdown! This hotel and it's super friendly, on it staff made our visit harmless under the circumstances that were surrounding us. From the start of our welcome to the clean comfortable rooms that had fridges, fluffy towels, ironing board, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and if you were fortunate a room with a view, to the super friendly staff! Big shout out to our new friend Majella who welcomed us at morning breakfast with her Irish wit and sense of humour...adorable and couldn't do enough from accommodating our needs to advice as to where to visit. This hotel is open and modern and just a short walking distance to the City centre and situated right on the river Lee Bus station around the corner. When and not if I and my friends come to Cork again (already looking for an excuse), we will definitely be coming back here! One criticism...we were on the 4th floor and could overlook the atrium, they need to dust their Golden Balls!

It is a typical family hotel in Europe. The landlord seems to have 2 buildings with a backyard for use as a hotel, small-scale operation, can not expect too high. The general impression is as follows: 1. The hotel is clean and tidy, the room is not big, it is OK. 2. Basic equipment and small bathroom. 3. Good location, opposite the University of Cork. 10-15 minutes walking distance from downtown. 4. The price does not include breakfast, 128 euros, a little expensive. 5. Breakfast is paid for 9 euros, but the food is too limited and worthless. I suggest you buy it yourself. 6. Because I didn't have a room type, I was given an apartment, so I brought the kitchen.

We arrived on Friday night on 6th of March it was just short of midnight. It was a break away for my fiance and our daughter to visit two terminally ill family members. We were welcomed by lovely night staff who were very helpful and friendly and very swift with our check in. When we got to our room we noticed a sign on the door which said room free for servicing but we tought it may have been a mistake. We went into the room and it was absolutely filthy towels on the floo in the bathroom dirty cups all over the place smelling of cigarettes smoke and this was at the start of the COVID pandemic. We went and spoke to night staff and again were very helpful and gave us a beautiful clean room. Following morning after a good sleep we went for breakfast and the restaurant was very poorly lit in my opinion but the food looked good.it was self service for my coffee so as I took the mug on the table it was full of tea stains absolutely disgusted I decided to take a look around the juice area and the glasses there were also filthy. I was absolutely disappointed more to this dirt in a 4* hotel. The food tasted absolutely good. After we ate breakfast I asked to speak to the duty manager who to my disappointment turned out to be who I believe was the restaurant manager on duty at this time. We sat and she did listen to my problem where she went on to offer us complementary meal which was absolutely beautiful top marks. The chefs are wasted in this hotel. We felt that we were fobbed off with a free meal. So I tried to contact the General manager and she was off so on the Monday after we arrived home I sent the manager a complaint and the manager was quick with her response saying she would investigate and as off the 30th of March I have not a response I understand the covid pandemic more so why the hotel should have been cleaned properly.

Stayed at Cannaway B&B for 3 nights while in Cork. The location is great for day trips to explore Cork County and the place itself provides for an authentic country-mansion style of a B&B experience. As many reviewers have mentioned, the property and the grounds are stunning and our hosts were super-friendly and helpful. Granted, running a place like this is very demanding in terms of effort, time and money and there is a tremendous amount of attention to detail that make the place truly memorable. As recent reviewers have mentioned, there are a couple of students helping out this summer and they are pretty much in charge of all guest services (i.e. room cleaning, serving breakfast, etc.). Although we spent the days outside visiting other places, we pretty much enjoyed our stay and slept quite well while there. We had the largest (family) room on the first floor and it is the only one without an en-suite bathroom. Its private bathroom is huge and right across the hallway, which made showering and occasional visits in the evening or early morning hours a bit more cumbersome when other guests were outside. Having said that, the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. As other reviewers have remarked, the breakfast is relatively unassuming but you get to choose how you want your eggs done. The only true letdown however was the cleanliness of the tableware at both the coffee lounge upstairs and the breakfast table. There were stubborn food remains on almost all the cutlery and dishes and we had to regularly ask for clean ones at breakfast. I'm guessing this could be due to an overloaded, improperly loaded or malfunctioning dishwasher, as we have observed in other larger hotels as well. Overall a very nice place for a quiet and relaxing stay and with a little more attention to the aforementioned breakfast quality and tableware cleanliness, it would be just perfect!

My husband and I celebrated a significant birthday this weekend with a Mini-Moon package at the Vienna Woods. Although we are both from Cork, neither of us had ever been to the hotel before. Our experience was beyond compare at every stage. The hotel is charming; a delightful blend of old and new. Decor is tasteful and appropriate. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was magnificent. The dinner was outstanding with an excellent menu that delivered way beyond expectation. Breakfast was superb, offering a vast range pleasing both the healthy and the treat agendas. Above all though, the service was heartwarming. It felt like a family had opened their home to us. Darren guided me through the booking. His advice was welcome and spot on. Marcin and Encarna served our amazing dinner with aplomb and style. Thank you Encarna for decorating our table with a big bunch of "Happy Birthday" balloons! Shulagh's attention and smiles at breakfast were a wonderful start to the day. And Susan at reception was so graciously accommodating in every way. Thank you to you all for making our stay in your very beautiful hotel so memorable. Highly recommended. We can't wait to return!

One of the best things about BnBs is that its far more personal experience than at hotels. And this is just what this BnB leaves you with. We were greeted by an effervescent Marian , who despite being in a tearing hurry to make it to evening mass, made sure she had fixed us coffee with Irish bread, and scones, explained all the choices around the BnB for dinner, made calls to atleast three restaurants to book us a table, showed us our room, asked us what time we'd like breakfast the next day and ensured we wore highway jackets while walking outdoor! Phew! The strolls from the BnB are gorgeous, with rolling farms leading to the Atlantic and needless to say we'd lost track of time, while walking to our restaurant. Just then we saw a car slowing by us, with the lady in it signalling to jump in. We were late for our reservation and the restaurant was going to close, so Marian had come personally to drive us there! A gesture I'll never forget! The next morning, while she was making breakfast, my husband enjoyed chatting with her in the kitchen. The breakfast was fabulous , really big and scrumptious and generous.. she even suggested we pack some scones along the way. The room was cosy, though the bathroom was basic. But what made this an incredible experience was the stunning, peaceful countryside and Marians amazing warmth ,energy and hospitality. Would definitely recommend it , if Nature is your thing. A word of caution, the GPS takes you through a really long winding route , cut off from any kind of civilization. So call before you go and ask for directions, as apparently there is a better way to reach it.

Sea View Guest House in Allihies is one of the best Bed & Breakfasts that I have ever stayed in! Our room was fantastic, the hostess is extremely kind, the breakfast is superb and the location is also beautiful. Our family room was absolutely fantastic: we had a lovely view over the ocean - in the evening we saw a stunning sunset from our room. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. The room had a water boiler, tea bags, coffee and cookies were laid out for us, which was really nice. The bathroom was also nice and fresh, and not so large. The bathroom was well-cleaned and had a shower cabin. I also liked that the bathroom had a frosted window that was possible to open. It was also great that our room had a wooden floor and not a wall-to-wall-carpet. The hostess - Mary - is very kind and helpful. She was one of the kindest B&B-hostesses that I had ever met. The breakfast is absolutely lovely - and I got very full and happy with it. You help yourself to the wide selection of fruits, juices and to the milk, yoghurts and cereals. It was also nice that you could choose homebaked scones, Danish bread and several other sweets along with small baguettes. You also order what you like from the menu: for example Irish breakfast, porridge or something vegetarian (as a vegetarian I got beans in tomato sauce, scrambled eggs, a little mushroom, hash brown and a fried tomato). Sea View Guest House is located in the middle of the small and cute village of Allihies on the Beara peninsula. Allihies - and the whole of Beara - is beautiful with so many cute and colourful houses and a stunning landscape – in my opinion the most breathtaking landscape on the whole island of Ireland is found on the Beara peninsula. In Allihies there is only one restaurant - O'Neill's Restaurant, which has nice food (and a couple of vegetarian dishes) and live music and is a place I can recommend. Allihies (and Sea View Guest House) is located about 30 minutes from Dursey Sound (Dursey Island cable car). All the roads on the Beara peninsula are small, winding and narrow so make sure to have plenty of time when you are about to drive. I can absolutely recommend Sea View Guest House and I happily give them five stars here on TripAdvisor (and I almost never give five stars on TripAdvisor). Everything is great at Sea View Guest House: our room, the breakfast, the location, the view and the hostess.

Moorepark West House was a great place to stay. It's quiet, it's comfortable, and it's affordable, and it's clean. My room and bathroom on the first floor were large and I didn't hear anyone coming or going. The living area provides a central hangout for talking with Eric or the other guests, though the place is pretty calm on the weekends since most visitors tend to stay the week for work and go home on weekends. The best part was the kitchen - lots of eggs, rashers, sausages, cereal, and fruit available, plus coffee and tea, and you can help yourself anytime. Caution: It is really difficult to find Moorepark West House. There isn't an actual address, and I never received his message with directions. I drove up and down the area at least 10 times before Eric came to meet me at a gas station so I could follow him. I enjoyed my stay and would return if I ever ended up in that part of Ireland again.
