Hotel is in district 3, so about 2.1km to downtown, however, it’s only a 30 minute walk and there are many restaurants and coffee shops on the way plus the main museum is a few minutes away. Lovely pool area and attentive staff. The background music is lovely and there is an excellent pianist who plays around 17:00. stayed here 2 nights and loved my stay here.From$122

Hotel is definitely different with its traditional Vietnamese furniture and old world charm. I would say the rooms are in a slight need of a facelift but booking this type of hotel you know you are not going to get a modern 5 star property.

As “luxurious” as it looks its not. Check in took about 45 minutes. As someone who works in the hospitality industry my hotel & many hotels I’ve stayed at have a check in and check out separate line. It was even more disappointing to wait in line to be told to wait when they should have the extra bell men who are waiting around to tell the guest to wait in the lobby instead of waiting in the long line. The receptionist I had didn’t ask how I was no warm greeting she just asked for my passport. It’s already giving me a sour taste. Get to my room it was very clean, the room has some neat tech features I thought were so cool. The room & the roof top pool is the only positive thing I have to say that pool is incredible. I wouldn’t recommend staying on the weekend way too many families with kids & the music is so loud. You can’t really enjoy the pool without kids being loud and peeing in the pool. The food was ok. To be honest if they have a facility day pass I’d do that unless the manager decides to have a meeting with the team to be better to never tell a guess “no” and separate check in lines. We have incredible experience stay at Au Lac Charner Hotel.
The location is absolutely fantastic! Being situated in the heart of the city centre made it so convenient for us to explore all the amazing attractions nearby. The fact that we were near famous restaurants like Anan and just a short distance away from Senspa and Miumiu was an absolute delight.
I can't stop raving about the complimentary breakfast and high tea that Au Lac Charner Hotel provided. It truly exceeded our expectations and added such a special touch to our stay. The variety of options, coupled with the impeccable service, made each morning an absolute treat.
I also want to give a special shoutout to Mr. Hoang (Hotel Manager?), for being incredibly patient and helpful throughout our stay. His willingness to answer all our questions regarding directions and even assisting us with Grab bookings truly went above and beyond. His dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was commendable!

The Odys is a tricky one for us to review. Overall we stayed 3 nights during our trip, 2 nights together then a break and a further night after a trip to the mekong. The hotel itself is quite nice.. nothing really wrong with it as such, the rooms were clean and had everything in there like all the others we've stayed in during our time in Vietnam. I wouldn't really call the Odys a ”Boutique” hotel but that's a matter of opinion.. but where we feel the Odys was a let down in this regard was that ”personal” feeling. Earlier in our trip we stayed in many places and all of them without question made us feel like we'd been before.. and in the case of multiple nights and multiple visits indeed the return welcome felt very personal (Bonsella.. you are the best in this regard during our trip!). The staff in reception were pleasant and polite but but it did seem very ”clinical” in approach? Maybe the city thing? But in our opinion it was a little too sterile feeling for a ”boutique” hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was fine, with the usual options available but the staff in the restaurant were our least preferred of the whole trip (anywhere in Vietnam), they were disorganised to say the least.. There were plenty of them around but service wasn't exactly the best. We did take advantage of one of the offers for the restaurant one night, booking a table by the side for a good city view. When we arrived that evening we find that the table we booked had been given to someone else, and in fact there was no mention of our booking. We waited and before long another suitable table became available. After eating we got the bill, and queried why the offer wasn't applied. We were told in order to get the offer we needed to book a table beforehand, this was by the very same person who led us to the table after finding out our booked table had already been given to someone else. It was sorted out, but this is just one of many examples of the staff not being the best. Oddly enough it was also the only place in Vietnam where we struggled with staff not being able to speak English (very few seemed to?), this took us by surprise as even in the remote locations in the north this didn't seem an issue. So In summary, we think this hotel is ok for the night, but that boutique feel is not there, its much more of a large hotel kind of feeling.From$50

My stay for 6 days with The Reverie Saigon was truly Dream. Not only the location and extravagantly luxurious decoration of the hotel, the gist of the dream was the Hotel staffs' human attitude and delicate communication. The staffs were always ready for my demand: anything from cleaning, reservation of outing, dressing me up, in-room meal.... In particular, pre-communication by email on my schedule, Ms. Duong Le (Concierge Team) was excellent and flawless in her arrangement of my demanding requests. I felt sorry for consuming her much time and energy. Ms. Duong Le was absolutely patient, as I know I am myself haughty, boastful and sometimes naughty customer. I really thank other nice people. I remember a guy at the bar with whom I talk of happiness of human being. (I forget his name!) But I would like to point out a person, a cleaner of my room, Ms. Uyen who kindly sewed my button with charming smile. Pros: Lovely rooms (two-bedroom) which had everything you needed. Nicely decorated and felt upscale. Hotel was slightly off the main road and rooms were quiet. HCMC roads are busy and noisy!! Small but clean gym, small playground for kids (indoor and outdoor). Pool is big and clean. Restaurant area next to pool. Lobby and reception area is very nice, smells good and has a luxurious feel. Location was good, near the zoo. Cons: only one: breakfast. Vietnamese food is very good but this was the hotel’s weakest link. Limited choice and not that delicious, if you got there after 8.30am almost all the warm food was cold. Hope this can be improved.From$93

First of all, I couldn't check the photos of the accommodation in advance. The accommodation had no curtains and could fit 8 people in one room. The toilet wasn't bad either, and I was able to find the location after wandering around the alley for a bit. However, when I first opened the door, I wanted to leave. Because it smells seriously. i visited ho chi minh saigon for 4 days business trip , but i only booked 1 night because i didnt know if this hotel was suitable , when i checked into the hotel and went back to my room to rest , the room was very clean and there coffee and tea for me enjoy in the room . after staying for 1 night , i was really staisfied . the hotel breakfast also had a lot of choies , i later stayed in 2 more night again . after checking out on the third day i took the grad car to the airport , when i arrived at the airport checkin my luggage , I realized my laptop was left in the hotel lobby，i quickly called the hotel，fortunately the hotel staff helped me put it away , and then i returned to the hotel to pick up back to my laptop . fortunately i chose a hotel not far from the airport , i successfully returned to airport to board my flight country. I would like to thank a lot of the hotel staff for its service. If I come to Ho Chi Minh City for business next time, I will still choose this saigon eastin grand hotel again..From$53

Unexpected gem to find this hotel. We originally booked because it was hard to find a hotel around the New Year holiday, but I'm very pleased to have stayed at the hotel. Loved the room we had, the executive room with a nice walk-in closet and a separate living room. Sauna and steam room, which came in handy. 3 jacuzzis on the rooftop along with the pool. The breakfast in the morning was good. Plenty of options and the pho ga, was very good! Friendly staff and great views from my room of downtown. Executive lounge had nice options for the evening canapes. The only drawback and it's not the hotel's fault, but the hallway in our room smelled of ****. Lots of people smoking in their rooms which is not the hotels fault, but a bit of a turn-off since I don't smoke. Other than that, we would definitely stay again. Worth coming back!From$80

The room is clean. The location is also good. The bad thing is the breakfast, not much varieties. We stayed there for 4 days. The first day we get up early and food were still available even though not variety. The second day, we went for breakfast at 9AM, everything empty only bread and one curry left, I asked for white rice to eat with curry but they mentioned that no more. Then the 3rd day, we went early around 8:15/8:20, also same nothing left even no rice. We really disappointed and the last day we even didnt go for lunch, we just order from Grab.From$79

We booked two rooms temporarily, and the cost was a bit expensive (about VND 5000K). The room was small and the facilities were relatively old. When my friend who was traveling with me was looking for a hair dryer in the room, he found rotten fruit left behind by previous guests in the cabinet. The smell was very smelly. Another puzzling thing is that there are two bathrooms, but the service staff did not tell us how to use them. The overall service of the service staff was okay, and the breakfast was normal. Was recommended Intercon and it did not disappoint. Enjoyable stay for a girls' weekend and birthday trip. The hotel's location is the best- right across the Book Street, Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office and a short walk to a street full of lovely cafes and restaurants and a slightly longer walk to the City Hall and Opera House. It was a wonderful stay at Le Merdien Saigon. Check in was a breeze and Ms.Hanni who was on duty was professional and able to address the concern on a minor defect in the room toilet. The issue was rectified while I was outside and issue was fixed prior to returning back to the hotel room. Attentive to the details she verified to ensure everything is in order in the next day. Other concerns were also addressed during check-in and also swift arrangement to address some other issues. A wonderful surprise to a fruit platter as well! We also ordered the in room dining food for dinner and it was good, thanks to the wonderful chef who brought the food up. Overall it was a good stay again in Le Meridien and like to compliment the warm hospitality and excellent customer service to Ms. Hanni and also to the manager on duty . Will be back staying at Le Merdien Saigon in the future. A minor feedback to the Global Marriott bonvoy app ( not Vietnam specific) if the room booking could have a list of default options for customer to be notified if the booking is primarily for room only vs room with breakfast vs room with addon (i.e breakfast , etc ) so that customer would be able to know easily during online booking .
