I must have started this review about 5 times because I don't really want to be negative, but then again I don't want to be positive either! We stayed here for one night, and it was enough - much like Pisa itself I feel - one day/night is enough! The location is well out of Pisa - taxi will cost in the region of €25, but if you like the idea of their thermal pools, saunas, etc it's worth it. Our room was a split level - bed above the en-suite with a decent sitting/chilling area downstairs. However I use the term ”chilling” ironically because the AC couldn't get near coping - despite having it working as hard as it could for the entire stay, it only managed to cool the room by less than one degree celsius. Opening the windows didn't help, but they opened into a corridor anyway, so privacy was a concern. Once you actually see a member of staff in the thermal baths/spa area (they seem to be rather sp**** and stay hidden - pretty sure I read that in someone else's review), they are lovely, but I genuinely felt awkward asking them to show us around - which is what the hotel receptionist had told us to ask! When we checked in, we were informed of a ”party” being hosted on the terrace that evening with food (not beverages) costing €90 each. We may have been tempted, but decided that given we were only there for one night, we'd eat in Pisa itself. On returning to the hotel we grabbed a couple of drinks at the bar and were invited (by who appeared to be the Food and Beverage manager) to enjoy our drinks on the terrace with the live music still playing - this was lovely and very thoughtful - certainly the highlight of our stay at the hotel. All in all, it's somewhat aged and needs a bit of TLC, possibly understaffed a little, and in a rural location. That said, the staff are very good and the location makes it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The thermal baths are beautiful and somewhat unique so it's very ”different” and for a night-or-two, you can't go wrong. I don't regret booking it, and if the AC had worked, so would probably have been a far more positive review.

After traveling, the hotel is relatively quiet. The main considerations of safety, cleanliness and other factors when traveling out are still good. There is also a parking lot, suitable for self-driving travel, a good choice.

This hotel, now called Hotel Villa Tower Inn , is definitely a 3-star hotel -- as indicated in the Trip Advisor description here and NOT 4-star as suggested by their logo and promotions. I suppose it may be a decent 3-star hotel: quaint, near the only real attractions that draw you to Pisa, easy-to-find, with 24-hour reception, a mini-bar fridge, LCD TV, etc. I understand from some reviews that there are renovated rooms. Not 207, although the bathroom sports updated amenities. The paint is aging and the decor is ”charming” where charm stand-ins for ”subpar” like ”antique” stands-in for ”old.” The headboard has probably seen better days and seen many things. I say that because this is the ”Romantic” room. It's romantic because with more than one person in the room there is going to be a lot of touching--intended or not. The ceiling is very high: eyeballing it, the height of the room is easily 20% more than either its length or width. Continuing on the theme of odd perspectives and charm, there is an armour in the room. It is perfectly serviceable, though only Michael Jordan could use the top of the two clothes rods. It is 3” short of the 8' height of a basketball rim. (I measured.) How such a guest would fit for sleep is a whole other question... The room has what seems to be an anemic little A/C that turns out to be surprisingly up to the job at least through the night. It was so hot out this week that we hardly bothered to open the shutters (inside or out), except to note that the view from this room is of a wall and hospital parking area/park. I'm trying not to be too *****y because the hotel can't possibly live up to my expectations of a 4-star hotel. It shouldn't have to... unless, of course, its logo suggests that it has 4-stars.

We stayed in the triple room with tower view. Do not get too high hopes but the room is really nice and cozy. Staff very attentive and the breakfast good. Bathroom was really nice too so we loved our stay. Only downside is that it is paper thin walls, you hear almost everything that is going on. For us not a major issue but it is present. The beds were not great but that is also a little bit personal. Between 3 and 4 dots would be apt.

The hotel is perfectly located literally 2 minutes from The Leaning Tower. The street outside has plenty restaurants, supermarkets and small shops. Our room was on the first floor. Basic, but very clean with a small fridge and ensuite facilities. Also on the first floor is a small roof terrace where you can have breakfast or drinks overlooking the Tower. You can buy chilled beer, wine and soft drinks from reception. The staff are a real credit to the hotel: very friendly, courteous and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Franceso.

After our EasyJet flight was cancelled we were unable to find anywhere to stay in Pisa so spent half the night on a sofa in a hotel reception area and half sitting at the railway station. My sister suggested Blue Shades who offer ‘day rooms’ and we were only too grateful to check in and grab some much needed sleep. The room was clean, spacious, had great blinds, en-suite bathroom and teeny hidden kitchen area - it was everything we needed and more! Morover even in sweltering heat it was an easy walk to the airport.
- Guest User
The hotel is very close to the airport, and this is certainly a good thing, and this is very sharp management. First of all, they gave us the key of a room that was actually busy: we entered and found things of other people. Let us - without any excuse, the receptionist said ”he had headache” - the key of another of these ”mini apartments”, we found us in a room with kitchen but without any stick or pentling even for heat a little water, with an express machine equipped with n.2 coffee capsules (right eh: only one night 2 people = 2 capsules and stop) not a the not a camel ... 2 capsules for the Express and just, if you don't like your cattle (you will work with so many foreigners, and let him find a boiler and two bags of the- always 2 heh I don't say overdrive) In the box for the sticks 1 fork and 1 knife. In the refrigerator, 2 bottles of water. And to finish 1 large and 1 small towel for two people. Then we asked him another couple of towels and for charity: they gave it to us. This hotel is not cheap, you get paid. You are especially sold as ”apartment hotel”: they spark you in a room without any suplettile (even a card with the wi-fi pw) with a sparkling and boring and about half of the right equipment (dryer, a couple of extra coats, I left the key to a empty receptionist this morning because the receptionist was smoking out. She was there with her dog, talking to the phone ... I don't think it's a professional way to stay at work. It is near the airport, however, and this is still the point of merit.

It is very convenient to walk a few minutes away from pisa tower. The door of the flight that arrived late at night was locked and tossed for a while before entering. The environment is good. The bathing facilities are a little rudimentary, and the breakfast is served in the yard. The MM service at the front desk on the first floor is very good, helping to print train timetables and tickets. Italian thieves must pay attention to the safety of their property.
- 马
The service is good, no milk and eggs for breakfast, no problem with full control, very close to the leaning tower, 5 minutes walk. The front desk service is very good, and I am very patient when printing tickets and train schedules. Call the door if you arrive late at night. The yard was locked, and General Iron kept the door. As soon as I arrived in Pisa, I experienced a gypsy thief, and I found out that there was no loss in time.

From the moment we arrived at the entrance and we're greeted by the receptionist, Maria we felt so welcomed. I'd read that all the staff were welcoming and this proves to be the case. Our room, Altana, was on the top floor. Very roomy and calm with extra special touches like a bottle of red wine, some soft drinks in the fridge, books to read but most impressive of all was the very top room with great views over the rooftops, a comfortable sofa and a record player with vinyl LPs. What a treat. Very sophisticated. Also a dressing room a d great bathroom. A perfect stay. This was our favourite stay of the four places we booked. Absolutely lovely.

If you are in Pisa and this is in your budget, its such a treat. Stylishly decorated, super clean, the friendliest staff, fantastic breakfast that is included and its in the heart of Pisa, 500 yards from the leaning tower. We stayed 2 nights (different times), both rooms very comfortable, could not ask for any more.

The location of the hotel is a bit off; the breakfast is very good, the restaurant is very beautiful, and the prices of orders at other times are more expensive; the rooms are quite spacious, safe, refrigerator, TV, etc. are all available, all of which are embedded in design, which has a sense of science and technology; The open-air garden on the second floor is very beautiful, suitable for evening chats and gatherings; in terms of services, two beds are set up in the room as required, and free taxi-hailing services are provided. The consumption receipt is shown at the checkout, but a tourist tax of 4 euros is added every night (Not mentioned when booking by Ctrip); In terms of hygiene, the rooms can be cleaned up in time, but the corridors, rooms and towels all have a sour smell.

This was a Great hotel near the airport. We arrived really late at night at the hotel and they had our room and key ready for us. We didn’t wait at all. We had checked-in online before we arrived so this was very convenient. Comfortable rooms and nice breakfast!

Like many other AC hotels in Italy: a good hotel. Clean, friendly staff, good housekeeping, ok location a bit out of town (though you get a quiet rest and a good night sleep). We came to like the ACs in Italy - wherever you go, you get a good level of service, a solid product and friendly staff wherever and whenever. So is the case in Pisa. Free parking - plenty of in front and on the side. Would chose again to stay here.

Excellent hotel!! New installations, fair price. It is a little far from the pisa tower but it is a very quiet place and has parking at the hotel. The only problem is that taxis take a while to get there. But a great option.

Stayed here for 1 night in August to see Pisa before flying home after a wedding holiday, and we honestly could have stayed for a week. It was perfect to be able to relax and decompress after a busy trip in such an impressive hotel with pool grounds on the edge of Pisa. It was easy to get in and out of the centre of Pisa, the walk was fine in the day (you do have to use an underpass but plenty of other people are also using it). At night we opted for taxis, the underpass had a bit to do with this but also it was just easier for us all dressed for dinner. Our room honestly felt like luxury, this place is an absolute gem for those who want a high standard hotel whilst seeing Pisa. would 10000% recommend. Only criticism - the roof is underused. There's a disused bar that's completely empty and a handful of seats. We couldn't believe this as it was absolutely beautiful at sunset. They could definitely utilise this more to give the hotel that extra wow factor. We'd have definitely made us of it if it were running.

Perfect location - 25 minutes walk from the train station - walk out the front of the hotel turn right & you see the Tower in seconds. Rooms clean / tidy & traditional but perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay in Pisa. Breakfast was buffet style & had everything from cereals, croissants, yogurts to bacon & eggs - all good. The rooftop bar is the star though - it has a perfect view of the tower. Costs are reasonable as well being the same as what you would pay at street level.

Stayed here for two nights before heading to cinque Terre. I'd give 4 stars to the staff, breakfast and location for station and walking to the tower. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was super and plentiful. And location was perfect for late arrival from Pisa airport....right next to Pisa centrale. I'd give about 2 stars for the room and general condition of the hotel. Although the rooms were clean and comfortable it was let down with poor decoration and overdue refurb. Holes in walls, need of redecorating and fefit. We had an adjoining room and could hear everything on the other side...even zipping up their case...poor. NH need to do a walk around and see the problems here. Paid £135 per night. Don't think I got my money's worth. No fault of the staff they can only work with what they've got. Come on NH.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, a Friday and Saturday. We were unable to check in until 40 minutes after our room was supposed to be ready, check in was disorganised and the taxi we booked while checking in arrived 24 hours early at 5am with reception ringing us to wake us up. We went down to breakfast, arriving at 9.35am. Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10am. Hardly and food was left, just trays with crumbs where food had once been. No bread, no pastries, just a few bits of ham, salami and cheese and that was about it. Other people who arrived before us were also in the same situation. I gave up and went back to the room feeling disgruntled while my wife stayed and had a coffee and a few morsels, even the coffee was difficult to obtain. The hotel itself is interesting, but is in need of some TLC, the toilet was a bit smelly and the room was very tired looking. We had a room at the front overlooking the river. The air con worked ok so we were able to close the window and shutters to keep the street noise down but it was still quite noisy with traffic and the noise of people shouting etc until the early hours, to be fair it was the weekend so not entirely unexpected. Great location, but I get the feeling they rely on this and the history of the hotel to fill their rooms, simple complacency. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Cleanliness not great, such as stained upholstery on chairs. Would not stay there again. Overall disappointed, if I were you find somewhere else, too expensive for the standard of accommodation and service.

Overall it is good, the room is spacious and not crowded at all, and the bathroom is quite large. The heating in the room is adequate, so you have to lower the temperature when you come in. Breakfast is charged separately, not particularly rich, there are many types of bread but no leafy greens, and coffee is exquisite. There is a free pizza map in the shop, there is a free parking lot, open air but very safe. Drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa in less than ten minutes.

Wonderful service, wonderfully located hotel. A short walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, restaurants everywhere and a lovely gelato shop about 5 minutes away. A 12 minute walk from the Pisa Centrale train station so this hotel is extensive convenient. Breakfast was included in my room package that I booked for my family so every morning we would go to the pastry shop right around the corner where breakfast is served, a coffee drink and a delicious pastry to start us on our day. we stayed here for one night - it's an ok hotel, walking distance from the train station which was a priority for us. The rooms were clean and in reasonable order and the breakfast was good. The one issue for us was the noise of the elevator - we were in room 112 which is located next to the elevator shaft - it was noisy as the lift seemed to be operating throughout the night.
