We very much enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. We were a family of 3 and shared a room. The staff were very welcoming and efficient on the front desk when we checked in. Once in the room we were very pleasantly surprised to see how good the pull out bed was for my eldest son. In fact it was a double sofa bed. It was very sturdy and had a very decent mattress on it ( unlike other top rated hotels we have stayed at ). The room was clean and had everything you might need , including iron and ironing board as standard. Breakfast was a tasty affair and staff were constantly replenishing items as they ran down. All staff very friendly and overall a great stay for a super price. Will definitely stay here again when we are visiting family again.

This was a last minute booking for a work event on the Friday evening. I decided rather than drive home afterwards I’d crash in a hotel for the night. I chose this one for its location close to the main road. As soon as I arrived I was made to few welcome really helpful staff. The room was clean and warm and had everything I needed, and more. Breakfast in the morning was hot and well cooked, unlike some places I’ve stayed. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of it. Next time I have something to do in the area I’ll be staying here.

I needed somewhere reasonably priced as I was in Bedford for an early appointment. I found it on a 3rd party booking platform and booked as it has good reviews, I didn't even think to check tripadvisor, until the day before check in and by then it was too late to cancel after reading all the poor reviews on here. Anyway, we arrived and the parking is plentiful. A few disabled bays. The lobby is very nice, and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. We requested something not too far away (from the reviews on here), and they obliged. We didn't have breakfast here as it is rather expensive...£15 per person. They do buffet dinner too and that's not cheap either...about £25 or 30 per person. We decided to get takeaway delivery instead. The room is a bit small for two people, but fine for one. It was OK though for one night. I'd stay here again should I come to Bedford again.

What can I say, after walking about a mile through corridors we finally got to our room in the 500,s will need to get up 10 minutes early find my way back. Walked into the 5 avenue corridors all smelt freshly painted and I thought they might have done the rooms as well, Wow no they haven’t, if it wasn’t 9,30 pm I would have drive the 2hrs home. Old soap stains and looks like tooth brush marks on sink, still looks like some has clean there teeth and the spit was over the taps had to wipe with a towel. Old bar of soap on the floor and lamp light plug left in way so you can just stay on it after getting over the shock of the room. 2 single beds in the room which I can live with as long as comfortable it’s like a rock might as well sleep on a park bench. Cancelled rest of stay and will find another hotel. This is willows training centre one and we normally stay at the lakes very frequently.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We checked in here for 1 night using Booking.com ...it cost us £55 a night for 2 people ( no breakfast as we'd read previous reviews which weren't very complimentary) we'd added to booking for an accessible room as husband disabled. We arrived at Hotel about 6pm. Plenty of parking and disabled spaces. Hotel building accessible to wheelchair users and disabled toilet in reception. No lifts. When we checked in room was on 1st floor receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and found us a room on the ground floor (room 43). The room was furthest away from reception which wouldn't be a problem for an able-bodied person but navigating suitcases and additional items needed for a person with disabilities (on a mobility scooter) through several doors was a bit awkward, but we were grateful for the ground floor room. The room was small maybe better suited for 1 person, but adequate for 1 night. Plenty of storage, TV, tea/coffee provided, no fridge, no AC but fan provided, windows open slightly, extra pillows/blanket, hairdryer, body/hair wash, bar of soap, towels provided. The bed was small (double) but a huge desk in the room which if was replaced by something smaller a larger queen/king sized bed could be fitted in. En-suite Shower with shower curtain, plenty of hot water, fixed head shower, adequate for me but totally inadequate for my husband who couldn't shower, no grab rails or shower seat. This hotel is lovely and the size of the rooms is reflected in the price. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless from reception to rooms (bed linen and towels good quality) carpets all look new, paintwork all fresh its a credit to the housekeepers. There is a large well stocked bar, with pool table, and also a cafe/restaurant which in my opinion was more aimed at catering for a student population, with a limited daily menu, (we didnt use it) again very clean. The staff we met on reception were extremely friendly, helpful and informative. Hotel is on a university campus dont follow sat nav postcode just follow the road straight round. Mitchell Hall on the left, not very well sign posted. Its in beautiful grounds and a 2 minute drive to the co-op and petrol station. We would return (but the hotel should offer accessible rooms, the room we had wasnt suitable for a wheelchair user ( we had to leave it outside the room door in the corridor) and there should be disabled bathroom facilities)

A group of ladies (of a ”certain age”) booked a 3 day 2 night stay with dedicated room for our quilting. Ignore the quilting, we have just had the greatest experience in customer service and food - and there just may be a few picky individuals in our group myself included!! The bedrooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. A few very minor hiccups in some rooms 're absolutely minor issues ( I spent 30 years travelling in so called 3 and 4* hotels so speak from experience), What stood out here was a) clear and genuine want to help by Cranfield Team b) the best customer service approach as individuals not just the overall management customer service approach c) event management easy to do business with and efficient d) food - on diets now!. Will be rebooking this week!!!

Located on the Cranfield University campus, this is an excellent, well planned, cleaned facility. I was impressed by the attention to detail. Pleasant room, with everything you could want: TV, Tea & Coffee facilities; Good WiFi, Comfortable bed, Hot & powerful shower, Luggage rack, Hairdryer, Iron & ironing boad, even a box of tissues.

Have stayed here a lot over the last years and something seems to have gone very wrong with the rooms and restaurant. Really cold bedroom with ineffective and very noisy wall fan unit heater. Bathroom towel rail turned off thus had damp towels for 5 nights as towels and sheets not changed throughout. No replacement of tea and coffee in rooms. I asked for more bedding and got a heater which was delivered but did not work. Restaurant buffet closed so had an ok but very over priced a la carte dinner. Quite embarrassing as I was hosting a business dinner, my colleague also noted how cold his room was too. We are both very easygoing and not complainers at all. Staff as friendly, cheerful and helpful as ever but they are clearly being very let down by the facilities they are being asked to manage just now.

We did not have dinner here so cannot comment on that although the menu looked lovely. However.....breakfast was a joke! Myself and my 2 friends all got up early to get get to breakfast which is only served until 8.30am and when we got there we found that there was no cooked breakfast, only continental. That's fine but a continental breakfast does not consist of a croissant and an egg cup of yoghurt! Oops I mustn't forget the 2 slices of cold toast🙄 at not point when we booked were we told that there was no cooked breakfast....it clearly states on their website the cooked breakfast available. When we went to speak the gentleman at reception, Baz, he was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He lied, would just walk off and ignore us or was rude and a bit confrontational. He would not give us a head office number for Verve hotels. And we were not the only people unhappy this morning! It's such a shame because the breakfast, or lack of, and his attitude, has spoiled what we thought was a lovely little hotel. I've seen the comments on here from the hotel staff when they get a negative review and I cannot believe how rude and insulting they are to people. Rather than apologise and take on board these comments they just want to be nasty so I can see why Baz was the same! Also, although the small car park is free you have to wait for other guests to come and move their car that's blocking you in as the hotel allows double rows of parking. I would like to add that all the other staff we met on our stay were lovely

Really nice hotel with friendly staff, we only booked for one night and unfortunately did not have time to dine in the restaurant but plan to return. The hotel is nicely decorated and very clean our room had two fans both with remote controls these were more than adequate to keep the room cool on a particularly hot night. Have read few comments about parking being a problem which I think are unfair the hotel tries to maximise the parking area and yes customers do double park but it’s not a problem I would rather that than leave the car on a side road, only one moan it’s a shame that they only offer continental breakfast it’s not a deal breaker but we do enjoy a cooked breakfast when staying in hotels.

I really enjoyed staying here with my work, I have stayed before but since the renovations the hotel really is beautiful now. I used the restaurant too and the food was great, the setting peaceful and the staff very good. I was served by someone called Candice (I think that was her name who was excellent). I have attached some photos of the food. Also if you’re away with work and also a cyclist, try and take your bike too as there are some lovely early morning river paths to cycle which start just outside the hotel. Perfect!
- Guest User
The location is very good, close to the river and really have a swan! The breakfast in the hotel is quite rich, facing the river. There are also many restaurants nearby. It is very convenient to go downstairs. The only downside is that the air conditioning duct has sound. Old hotel is inevitable

Great staff and lovely comfy room with nice extra amenities for my All Accor level. Breakfast also great. Couple of issues- ( very old) safe in room did not work. Also nail clippings on carpet! Hermis from front desk did a brilliant job of emergency hovering. Mehar also kindly gave me a late check out.

Check in time is 2pm we arrived at 1:30 pm and were told the room was ready and did we want to check. Obviously yes was our reply. We were then told there was a £10 early check in charge!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't get more ridiculous that that. Later we checked in and the room was OK but quite spare and cold. Then to the restaurant which is no more than a PUB restaurant with menu to match and prices relating to a 5 star hotel. The wine prices were astronomical for the wine on choice. I think the lowest wine price was in the region of £28 which in Tesco is sold(retail at 37). The restaurant prices have a small print caveat with (an optional) service charge adde of 10%. This them makes the price of a bottle of wine around £30 (there is no service or added value that the hotel adds to the wine so why the service charge). Our second night we ate there the menu had been redacted to the Sunday carvery at 8pm. However they did have fish and chips(£14) and ”catch of the day” choice(16). I asked what the catch of the day was with the reply SEA BASS. I leave the reader to work this out. Sea Bass is a fish that gives itself up and can be found in plentiful supply on supermarket shelve and almost certainly at a lower price than Cod or the like. I don't think I need go on but there is plenty more to suggest that people should avoid this place

Every nook and cranny in The White Hart oozes grand antiquity and contemporary retrofitting has ensured comfort instead of a dated environ usually synonymous with aged structures. The White Hart hits the right buttons with tasteful decor and attention to details. There’re ‘gargles’ from old pipes probably and a cranky air-conditioner but I’m too tired to take note. I’m aware only because I’m a light sleeper. The only drawback was the overly long prep time for my breakfast, which I had to miss unfortunately due to a lack of time. Nonetheless the manager on duty exercised discretion for not charging me for a take-out lunch requested when I’m seated for breakfast.
