Stayed here over a month in July. Was a wonderful place to explore Aberdeen, Deeside and Speyside. The hotel is situated in central Aberdeen just off Union street. It’s s new property in a pedestrian area with a parking area below. Unfortunately the parking area is a) hard to get to (mapping software such as Google maps cannot find it) and b) not directly linked to the hotel ( staff can access the area outside the parking garage if access elevator access is required - just buzz the hotel and ask). Not sure at all why it was designed this way as it’s a simple change of doors to allow customer access to the hotel with a key card, and still allow staff access to their restricted areas. Customer service at the hotel was excellent in all areas: front-desk, bar staff, restaurant and housekeeping - impressive. Room was comfortable if a little compact compared to some Residence Inns. The room lacked a few cooking dishes/ items. None appeared to be available on-request. Breakfast was great with an extensive selection plus additional items available to order. Cooking is easy as easy to prepare meals & groceries are very easy to stock as there is a Marks& Spencer food hall less than 100 yards/meters away.

We had a few issues on the first evening, but swiftly sorted out by Marisa on front desk in the morning who was absolutely super and is a huge asset to the hotel I think! A Marisa of all trades! The night staff were great as well! The rooms are great, large beds - classic Residence Inn amenities with the kitchenette and a couple of really comfy bar stools at the kitchen table, and rare openable windows. Breakfast amazing, they have Aberdeenshire butteries available, as well as the usual faire (bacon, sausage, beans, egg etc) as well as 'on-the-go' breakfast bars. But, something I was genuinely impressed with; takeaway containers so you can have breakfast in your room. I wish more hotels did that. Alas, the negatives: - I'm not keen on the hotel trend of the big sliding door for the bathroom, it really doesn't work unless you're on your own. - The area outside the hotel can be quite noisy, so if you're a light sleeper ask at front desk to be overlooking the courtyard. - The bathroom lights are quite far away from the door, so you're either fumbling around in the dark or waking up whoever is still in bed!
