Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed at this hotel for one night during our trip to Steamtown (which is amazing!). The hassle began right away when we were told at 4:30 that is would be a 45 minute wait to get into a room because there were no clean ones available. Once finally in the room it appeared fine other than a lot of chipped paint and very dirty windows. Later that night we discovered that there was only one working outlet in the room. Being the typical family with an 11 year old son we have a lot of things to charge so thank goodness I remembered to bring our multi usb charger. The next morning we additionally found that the fan in the bathroom did not work and the floor to the tub was very soft and spongy, making us wonder if the tub was installed wrong or the ”historic” floor was rotting away beneath us. Our ”comped” breakfast because of the long wait for our room did not cover the drinks, which we found out after we had already drunk them. The final straw was discovering in the light of day that the outlet problems in the room were because of a tangle of power strips pluggedinto one another had been switched off. My husband had to crawl under the night table to discover this and came back up with many hairs on his shirt. It is a beautiful building with lots of charm but most of that can be seen in the lobby for free without risking an electrical fire 3 inches from the bed. If you are going to charge people to stay there it comes with assumption of basic safety. This was our first experience in a Raddison hotel and we will for sure be staying at our usual Hilton hotels from now on.

This hotel is an unexpected find in Scranton. It would be a fit in any major city. The architecture is beautiful, the rooms well appointed and the staff very friendly. It is conveniently located to the rest of downtown Scranton and another major hotel forming a great conference venue.

We needed a place to sleep on our way to NYC. This hotel was directly off I81 and we have always had good experiences with Hampton Inn. The complimentary breakfast is always nice . The Hilton app allowed us to go directly to our room after 10 pm and open it via Bluetooth. Slick.
- Guest User
The hotel, staff, and rooms are very nice. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The only food that looked appealing was the packaged yogurt and the boxed cereal. The one banana in the fruit basket looked mushy and old. The only other fruit I saw was apples, which is not a breakfast fruit. On the plus side, the coffee was hot.

Excellent place to stay, I will not stay anywhere else going forward. Facilities were very clean. The room was fresh and “DID NOT” smell of cigarettes or ok dirty carpet. Staff was wonderful. It’s close to the interstate and…….. they give you water! 💦 Loved my few hours stay here and will only stay at Hampton Inns.
- Guest User
The hotel is by the road, but sleeping in the room is not noisy at all. The style is always friendly, clean and comfortable, the mattress is very comfortable, the quality of sleep is good, the breakfast is not very rich, but it is enough for a breakfast before going out, and the products are also very good!

Stayed here for one night to visit the Peckville Christmas House ( a must) before heading to Great wolf. Unfortunately there was an incident in the laundry resulting in fire alarm evacuation. My son was scared and did not want to stay any longer. The front desk attendant was extremely calm and helpful as all guest were waiting outside. They immediately refunded our room so we could go somewhere else. Although the fire dept cleared the hotel, my son did not want to stay. We will be back in March where our family hosts a family reunion.

Nice place to stay, clean, conveniently located and most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The only exception being the lady who worked at the breakfast buffet. She clearly hated her job and and resented each person that crossed her path or dared speak to her. Her rudeness was the only thing keeping.me from giving 4 stars. I ihope she finds a job she doesn't hate so much.

The staff went above and beyond. Very friendly and helpful. Clean and well managed. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Very close proximity to Montage Mountain Resort too! Restaurants and shopping nearby. Ten out of ten.

Pro: Lots of space and mostly clean. Cons: Mold in the corner of the shower. The body wash container was empty, the one nightstand was dirty, missing a reading lamp. Breakfast ran out of large paper plates. How can you eat a waffle on a small plate? I expect better from Marriott.

Checking in was lovely because of Shawn. Clean. Walkable to Uni and restaurants. Price was high the weekend we stayed there for Scranton. Stay away from the rooms near the elevator. Remember that it is in the city; so, even on the highest floors you can hear road noise.

The staff at the Hilton Scranton are very pleasant and helpful. It makes up for some short comings in the room(s). i.e. dirty/stained carpets, some plumbing issues. Otherwise a great stay. The bar staff is excellent as well.

This is a very good hotel. The rooms are spacious with their own kitchen equipment and can be cooked by themselves, making them feel warm. The fly in the ointment is not cleaning the room every day.

Room was booked as part of a travel package for a music event at the mountain. Check-in was 3pm, event’s doors open at 4, you would think they would anticipate a lot of people descending on the property at the same time. Many of the rooms were not ready at 3, leaving a large group of travelers stuck in a warm lobby or in line out the door in the hot sun. Instead of bringing out pitchers of water, or some token of appreciation for the wait, the woman at the desk just attempted to avoid eye contact with everyone. When we it was our turn to check in, the clerk told us that the room was not ready, it would be about 15 minutes, to sit off to the side and she will call us over as soon as it’s ready so we don’t have to go through the line again. After about 20 minutes, my husband checked with her and she replied “Oh, yeah, it’s ready.” Who knows how long we would have sat there if he didn’t check back? They only had enough keys to give out 1 per room. The electronic key through the app does not work at this facility. The key stopped working, and when we went down, the woman in front of him had a disabled key too. The alternative side entrance next to the elevator broke down, so everyone had to go around through the lobby. I wonder if that’s a fire code violation in case of a need to evacuate? The restaurant is closed, and the “continental breakfast” is a rolling cart full of gas station-style faire. The room was not clean. It did not look vacuumed. There were strangers finger prints all over the ice bucket lid. There was black mold and obvious water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom, likely due to no exhaust fan. We started with an empty roll of toilet paper, facial tissue box was out too. There was a little dorm fridge on the floor right in the middle of the path to the bathroom, we moved it right away because it was surely something we would fall over getting up in the night to use the bathroom. There was a letter telling us they are not performing housekeeping during our stay because of Covid and to leave trash and dirty linens outside the door and to call the desk to request more. I have stayed many nights at hotels in the same price range for concerts and my kids travel team sports. I don’t expect a ton, but this place can do much better.

Currently staying at the Days Inn. Very affordable. Pool is warm. Hot tub is HOT. Room is adequate. Bed are soft. Views are nice. Request a mountain view room if possible. The skyline at night is actually very beautiful. I wish I brought binoculars. Basic cable. Wifi is strong. Breakfast is grab-and-go. Prepackaged stuff. Not a lot of seating. They are currently undergoing renovations too. The lobby restrooms were under maintenance. Housekeeping staff are helpful, but you have to catch them before 3pm. Can't beat the price.

Stared at this location while driving back home after spending a few weeks in Florida. This hotel is very well located near the I81 and surrounded by many shops, restaurants, gas stations and may more. The hotel and room was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. This is a hotel I would defenitely choose again when in the area.
