The hotel was generally better than it was on the pictures it was very cool. It was a hard contact with the hotel owner because we didn't get access to BaselCard. The room is generally very clean and large and I am as happy as possible but the contact and the fact that you can enter and you have to leave without any concessions is not the best.

❌ The apartment reeked of cigarette smoke, it seems previous guests smoked everywhere, despite strict no-smoking policy. This was very unpleasant.

Not the best for the price, but considering it’s Switzerland it is cheap. Really bad cigarette smell and not clean. Not a very pretty place either. Works if you’re going for a few nights and it is well located.

The hotel is located right next to the SBB station, making transportation within and outside Basel very convenient. There's a large supermarket right next door and in the station's basement. Unlike other European cities, the area around the station is relatively safe, so it's not dangerous. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable, and the famous breakfast restaurant is beautiful. The breakfast food is good, but the selection isn't extensive. The interior is classic, but not outdated! The emotional attitude of the lady at the front desk was baffling. When I wanted to order a taxi during check-out in the morning, there was no one at the front desk, nor was there a bell. So I called out ”hello” a few times. The young lady came out from the adjacent room.
”Why are you yelling 'hello'... I am busy... Do you think I should be here (at the front desk) all the time with a smile?” she ranted, complete with an expressive display. What was that all about? Basel was our final stop in Switzerland this year, a border city spanning only 24 square kilometers. Despite its border location, it's very developed and modern.
**Environment:**
Among hotels like Victoria, Mövenpick, Radisson, and Novotel, we chose this 3-star option. It's directly opposite the SBB train station, and the main bus terminal is just 100 meters from the lobby exit. Although it's a transport hub, the area is decent; there are a few homeless people around, but its convenience makes up for it.
**Facilities:**
There's no fitness center, but you can pay to use a partner facility. The lobby bar is alright, not too crowded, with a nice corner view of the street. Coffee runs between 6-7 Swiss francs. The room isn't huge, but it's fully functional, and the bathroom is quite spacious, which is great for travelers.
**Cleanliness:**
The common areas, like the lobby and hallways, are well-maintained, and the room was very tidy. You can definitely trust the cleanliness standards of Swiss hotels.
**Service:**
Check-in and check-out were both quick. Our room was ready well in advance, and luggage storage was straightforward. They provide a Basel Card, which offers free use of all city public transport and half-price entry to some museums. I didn't particularly notice any other services.FromRUB 11,303

This hotel is great. The staff are very nice and helpful in every way. It has all the amenities that’s required for tourists and it’s very clean.. Breakfast was good no complaints here. They even have a QRCODE for a free ride on the tram or bus. how cool is that. They even called a taxi for us to take us to the Viking tor departure. We definitely recommend this hotel. The room was clean, we have a bunkbed, double bed with a single bunkbed. The toilet is separated, the shower room is very tiny, not much room to move around inside. No hair dryer is provided. There is a small TV in the room where the channels are quite many in France and some in English. Our towels were changed daily and our bed also being done daily during our stay.
The hotel is in good location, there is a tram stop nearby, also we can just walk around 15 minutes to the main train station and it was safe during the night and even early morning. The nearest supermarket is COOP and it is around around 5-10 minutes, you can see the COOP office building from the hotel and still need to walk straight from it.FromRUB 7,515

There are capsule coffee in the room and the toiletries are provided by L'Occitane.
