Reviews From Real Travelers
I hesitated to give the hotel a review and thought it may have been a one-off but decided to write about our experience for the sake of other travelers. For context, my husband is a Marriott lifetime platinum and we have certain expectations when staying at a Marriott chain hotel. The Renaissance Reno is equivalent in our mind to a Marriott hotel but it failed to deliver the same quality during our stay. The positive: the hotel has been renovated with its unique style and the lobby is stunning. Our room was spacious, comfortable and updated The negative: There were 2 front desks in the lobby on each side of the entrance and it was confusing where to go for the check-in. Considering that my husband is a loyal Marriott member, the staff helping us seemed curt and did not make us feel special. Since it was a Sunday and we were told that the member's lounge was closed. We could still enter it and there were dirty dishes sitting on the counter and it felt unwelcome. Breakfast at the lounge the next few days was mediocre, so were the afternoon appetizers. This applies to service as well as quality of the food and available options. The worst offender has to be the internet TV. This trip was for us to relax, stay in and catch up on some movie watching. It was the worst experience ever! It took us about 5 hours to watch a 2.5 hour-movie. We thought it was just an a one-time problem but it happened to any movie on any internet channel. This is no exaggeration: the movie would freeze every minute which we got used to, but then it would freeze long enough to display an error, at which point you have to start over from beginning and fast-forward to where it was left off. Lastly, we did not mind paying the $15 self parking but started to notice there were outside people not staying at the hotel parking for free.

This is a turn key Destination, High end stylish Hotel, Luxury Spa and fitness center, High end The Shore Restaurant and bar, Executive lounge with morning breakfast and evening canapés, Huge Bocci gaming area, many other activity games, bar and pub grub. The moment I walked I felt like family. The front desk staff, were super friendly and helpful. The Bell Captain was much more than luggage helpful, great area tour guide and local expert. I even met the Director of operations and GM of the hotel who paid attention to every detail of my stay. I Love this place so much I moved permanently!

The place seems very unorganized. Tammy Adams is supposed to be the manager but we stayed 3 weeks and many things were not up to Hilton standards We had no phone , clock or desk lamp. I tried to call the front desk several times and let the phone ring at least 20 times each time and no one answered. I was a cancer patient and really was not well. I was taking meds every hour and a half day and night. Not having a clock was very difficult in the night. A friend sent flowers and she hadn’t heard from me so she actually called to find out that they had arrived so my husband went to get them. David, at the desk, said he’d come up to tell me but I he didn’t leave me sticky note on the door. If I had a phone , like at other hotels, I would have been left a message. We were told housekeeping would come on Thursday, then Friday then finally came on Saturday. I was really suffering and bed ridden. The housekeeper Allie was so accommodating and helpful. I want to compliment her. I asked about why she hadn’t come and she said she’d been assigned 413 not 415 those days. The next week no service until Monday of the following week then again on Wednesday. The day before we left. It seems like there is no house keeping supervisor. I do want to compliment Crystal who was serving breakfast and Wednesday evening social refreshments She is very friendly and helpful she makes sure the food is great. Home made cookies a favorite. Even though CRol Nicholson is the event manager, she is very friendly to the guests and staff. She helped us get our reservations straightened out because we had to stay the 2 weekends We could have been with out a room if Carol hadn’t fixed it. My husband had tried to arrange the reservations with Anita but not done right. A suggestion for the custodian. The lobby restroom floor was very wet after he mopped yes there was a cone saying wet floor but I suggest he be given a dry mop to use after using the wet one. A disabled lady had to use it and had to grab the sink. It’s not hard to dry the floor!!! I’m disappointed that the quality of this Hilton has dropped so much. We’ve been going there over 5 years because of my health problems.

Friendly staff. Strange location. You'll have to drive to any restaurants/groceries/fuel. Impressive breakfast. Coffee available throughout the day. It's in a quiet part of Reno, which we appreciated. We had our kids with us and it was nice not to be surrounded by city noise. You'll need to drive to any restaurants or grocery stores. The room was spacious and clean. Full size fridge, microwave, and 2 burner stovetop. We didn't need to cook, but it would be a nice option if you stay for an extended time. Small pool, no hot tub/jacuzzi. Overall, I would recommend this place.

The hotel is a mid-range hotel in westin. The room is very new and relatively large. The location is in a better area of Reno City. The bed was very comfortable. Some reviews said it was noisy, maybe because the windows were not closed tightly. The public area on the first floor is relatively large. The gym facilities are okay and the breakfast is also good.

A great hotel with new facilities, great views, and free breakfast. The bed and hot water in the room are very comfortable. It is worth visiting again. Breakfast is also good, and you can also take away coffee

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, twice while driving to and from a different location. It was a very nice hotel. The front desk staff who checked us in were by far the nicest staff I’ve encountered in years. They were friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable and clean. Plenty of space for my family of 4. My only complaint, and this is very small, is there wasn’t any place to hang towels after use aside from the shower door which would only fit 1. This wasn’t a super issue for us as we only showered once before continuing on but it is something I noticed. Something else we noticed is that the street outside of the hotel is very busy and loud. Not something the hotel can control but good to know. We had a white noise machine for our children and we were glad we did. The hotel has Tesla chargers and both times we arrived the chargers were open and we were able to fully charge which enabled us to start our trip the next day easily. The breakfast is probably the best I’ve seen in a hotel in a very long time. Wide variety and tasty.

I try to stay at a Hilton property since I am a Diamond member. I also love staying at H2S since it has all the amenities I need. Like a little condo. There is breakfast but I didn’t take advantage of it. There were asst breakfast sandwiches which was nice, grab n go or eat there in the lounge area. The room had everything we needed, fridge, microwave, dishes, etc. Shower was dated wish it was adjustable. My son and I were pelted by the water. Located cannot be beat! At the end of the parking lot next to the mall, restaurants within minutes, you name it! Location was everything! Only about 10 mins from Grand Sierra where my son had his competition we couldn’t have been happier. Walls are a bit thin as I could hear neighbors talking loudly which was annoying. Overall a great choice as for us location and amenities are everything!

This was an unplanned trip for medical reasons and after long days at the hospital with a loved one this hotel had just what we needed. The food was good, the service was great, everything was really clean, and the new gym was exceptional. I would absolutely recommend. Michael at the front desk was friendly in the mornings, Danielle at the bistro was so positive & energetic that it was contagious, and Kevin in the restaurant overheard my daughter saying she thought she might like a grilled cheese & soup for dinner and he ducked out to start warming soup for her- just in case!

I am very dissatisfied with the hotel's pre-authorization deduction system. My room is $200 a night, the hotel deducted me $200, then deducted $200 from my credit card, then deducted $20, and finally buckled me. 10 dollars, I went to the front desk theory, they said that they made a lot of mistakes, and later cleared the back of $ 220, but the remaining 10 dollars did not know what the deduction is! I also encountered such a bad hotel management system for the first time!

Clerk at checkin was NOT friendly. Did not ask if we'd been to this hotel before, did NOT offer directions to the elevator, which are around the corner from the front desk, not visible and not obvious when looking for them. we wandered around with our luggage for several minutes before an employee helped us. This town has a severe shortage of taxi cabs, making getting anywhere difficult to impossible. There are no nearby restaurants, forcing guests to dine at their overpriced eateries.

it was the first time after the pandemic, it was super clean and if I can compare it with the Vegas experience; the staff was very friendly. we tried almost all dine-in restaurants, they used fresh ingredients highly recommend trying them all.

It's very close to the airport, and the shuttle bus is operated. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the water pressure is satisfactory. I didn't expect much because it was a free breakfast, but I was so satisfied because it was similar to the breakfast I paid for and eat at other hotels.

Just beside the small river, cross the bridge and walk more than 200 meters along the river to the car museum to see the various cars carefully collected by the casino owner. A dedicated parking garage is available for free parking. The stopover from Yellowstone Park to Yosemite is not bad. Reno is the second largest city in Nevada and has many casinos.
- JIKE
The location is very good, in the center of reno, the hotel has no casino, it is relatively quiet, and the car museum is behind. There is a building opposite the hotel dedicated to 5 knives a day. My feet hurt a little on the day of check-in. The front desk gave a disabled room directly.

We stayed here while driving US-50 through northern Nevada. The hotel is very close to the airport, but we had no trouble sleeping due to noise or anything like that. Location is also good for restaurants and other services, and it's easily accessed from the Interstate. Hotel was good too; service was friendly and competent. Rooms were comfortable and modern; beds were fresh and sleep was good; bathroom was clean and the appliances worked well; and the Wifi worked well too.

Very good, breakfast is free, no one collects money at all. There is a self-service laundry room. The room is large. Look to the snowy mountains. It takes about ten minutes by car to get to a Chinese buffet restaurant, king buffet.

Our group from the Bay area goes to Reno twice a year for the past 20 years. Late August for golf/fantasy football draft and in March for March Madness. This was our first time staying at The Eldorado thanks to the Executive ****** Host Grant Wellington. I rarely give 5-star reviews. The rooms are perfectly cleaned, with comfortable beds and bedding, strong water pressure, beautiful views, etc. The world-class dining. Yes, I said world-class dining was off the charts. La Strada was one of the best Italian restaurants on this side of the pond. We are all foodies from the bay. The all around experience was perfect. Roxy is also very good. We are looking forward to returning for March Madness!

For more than ten years, the annual meeting has been in Reno, and I have stayed at those high-end hotels in the city. In recent years, I like to live in Sands. One is cheap; the other is parking plaza, not a parking building, and it is close to the elevator; the third is far away from other old friends who live in the center hotel, avoiding entertainment. The bad thing about this hotel is the old hotel, which is separated from the strip by two streets, and it is inconvenient to drive by yourself; it is the most commonly used in the old US-window air conditioner, noise; and then the price is low, residents, restaurants Casinos are not high-grade.

Our room was a suite in the Tuscany tower (room 918) which was fairly close to the reception desk (just up a nearby escalator and down a corridor that passes by the swimming pool, Biscotti's restaurant, and the convention hall before you reach the elevators). Our suite had a comfortable King bed with 4 very thick pillows, a mini-fridge, and a large living area with a small table and two chairs. We asked the front desk for some thinner pillows which were delivered to our room. The bathroom had dual sinks, a long vanity, and a whirlpool tub. The dual shower heads in a walk in shower for two was a very nice touch. Our only complaint was that the door was not very sound proof, and we could easily hear conversations from our neighboring suite and hallway during all hour of the day or night.

The facility was just right for what we needed. It was clean and spacious. The surrounding area was blighted due to the closure of Harahs and other business establishments. There were some undesirables hanging around the hotel but tolerable. Good Vietnamese and Thai restaurant nearby. Inside the hotel, I felt safe. The front desk folks were very courteous but did not have a lot of knowledge as to where to go or where to eat. Overall, I would rate my stay a 7 or 8 out of 10.

We found the hotel to be very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and a spacious room featuring a lounge chair and long desktop surface. The staff was courteous and responded to our request for a microwave in the room. It is apparently one of a few hotels that doesn't have a ****** and we appreciated that. Our conference group utilized the very large rooms for talks and dinner. The only thing I found odd was that you couldn't access the stairs to go to your rooms (stairs are for emergency only) so the elevators were very crowded when our large group ended events.

We booked two rooms for a week through RCI on checking the ranking given by RCI. Property has been rated Gold Crown for more than a decade. However our experience was mixed. Pros Spacious studio rooms with full furnishing. Furnishing is dated but well maintained. Location is big positive as nearby riverside is hub of all activities. Restaurants serving all type of cuisines are within walking distance. Parking is within the building. Activity center is well maintained. Cons.. No service for the entire period of seven days. No staff is seen with masks. Covid seems to be more of an excuse. Front office staff although courteous and helpful has been instructed to deny basic services to timeshare clients. We could see other guests also pleading to lend vacuum cleaner for self cleaning the rooms. We went through the same stress. Only saving grace was offer from front office to change the rooms. Final recommendation... it is okay to book this place for couple of days. Avoid if you are planning long stay.

Booo… this one is at the bottom of my list Well, if you have an opportunity to stay at a different hotel, closer in town little more expensive if you can afford it, try not to stay too long at this one it’s an old hotel. It’s a old stinky ****** needs to be leveled and rebuilt wrong part of town, a lot of transient people on the street. I did not like it but it was cheap. It was clean and old and stunk phone. Desk was friendly maintenance was nonexistent. I change the filter in my AC unit because it was nasty. I stayed there for two night. The only thing that was comfortable was leaving my truck outside because they had security in a fenced in area. Security walk to grounds all the time not nice not good I don’t like.
