We booked to stay here for three nights, and after one night left to find alternative accommodation. We think this says it all.

Had a pint with mates while waiting for ferry. Dark and dingy bar with rubbish choice of beers. Only saving grace was charming woman serving behind the bar.

Stopped in for food on way back to Oban on the ferry. Could do with a little tidy up/scrub but great welcome and staff very helpful and food was delicious. We enjoyed the pizza very much which was home made and we were told how long it would take (25 mins ish) and it arrived on time. Our dogs were made very welcome too which was a bonus.

Was delighted when I saw my room - cosy, good heating, well presented and pleasant. Menu pretty limited for vegetarians - unless you like fish and chips, pizza or rice with bean chilli, you're out of luck. But the staff work at high speed and the pub is very busy indeed at times in the evening. Everywhere I went, I told people how good it was and recommended it. But at the end of a day out, returned to my room and although the bed had been made and clean (?) cups provided, absolutely nothing else had been done. Bins overflowed, shower hadn't been cleaned. Worst of all, I'd left towels on floor for laundering (as instructed by notice on door) and they'd been returned to the towel rail. I noticed with misgiving, after sleeping there for a night, that a corner of my duvet looked pretty grey. So a great place to stay, with really hard working staff - let down by their cleaner.

Tobermory Tower burger is £12.50 on their website menu. We were actually charged £16.95, £4.45 more than their online menu. The Tower Burger costs more because it has cheese & bacon extra. I asked for no bread bun so coincidentally the cheese was visible, or lack of it. It looked like it was the crumbs leftover on a chopping board. It wasn't a slice of cheese as you would expect. It was just sparse small crumbs of cheese sprinkled on top. I know I should have said something at the time but I did mention it to the staff that took our plates away & she said she would mention it to management. We sat a further 5 minutes & no one returned. My said he couldn't taste any cheese in his burger. Our first visit & will be our last.
