A very traditional hot spring hotel. The rooms are also laid out like traditional houses. The scent of rush mats hits your face as soon as you enter the door. The corridor design makes living more convenient and reasonable. Sleeping on the Kurokawa River at night may be a bit mind-boggling for those who are sensitive to sound. I chose a one-stay, two-dinner plan, a traditional Japanese kaiseki. The Japanese food was filling but not delicious~ The only regret is that the hot shower in the room recently broke down. I originally chose this hotel because it had a private bathroom in the room. But the controller, Uncle Nakanishi, was particularly interesting. That night, there was insufficient water pressure on the second floor and the water supply was cut off. The emergency call was not delayed with the false enthusiasm of the Japanese. Instead, he hung up the phone in a very rude manner and said ”wait a moment.” , I also took a cold shower and ran out of water halfway, so I solved the customer's problem first. With this episode, I can still sympathize and understand. When I checked in, the other fat uncle was not very enthusiastic, a little cold and stiff. Too many guests and too busy?

Excellent and hearty service: There was heavy rain at our arrival and departure. The staff helped to carry our luggage from main building to annex. Umbrellas were provided. Shoes and clothes of suitable size are provided immediately on arrival as we were soaked with rainwater. Drinks and comfortable sofas were arranged while we were checking in. Every staff wore smile on their face and helpful, reaching helping hands even before we asked. Nice food: Japanese style meal , tasty, nice rice and prickles , we were very full after dinner Nice onsen: different onsen to choose from, with suitable temperature. Free family onsen booking Escape from urban: nice green environment , eye catching for instagram.

The staff will move you to the parking lot a little far away. The lobby, lounge, and front desk are on the 3 floor, and the wooden building makes you feel warm. The room I stayed in was on the 2 floor of the new building. 10 It feels wide even in a Japanese-style room with tatami mats. It is also nice to have a four-tatami service room with a digging. The water of the river flows nearby, and the sound of the water clears your heart. The large communal bath is on the 1 floor, the indoor bath and the open-air bath, both of which are equipped with natural stones. The quality of the spring is colorless and odorless salt spring. There is no feeling of slimy, but the body warms up to the core. Dinner • Breakfast is full of content. Dinner is a course meal. Every dish is really delicious because it makes full use of the characteristics of seasonal ingredients. The salt-grilled salmon is salty and very fat and delicious. There was also a cherry blossom for breakfast, but it is tempura, so it seems that the taste is different from the cherry blossom for dinner and eating another river fish. Even if you use the same ingredients, you can realize that if the cooking method changes, the taste changes like magic. The rice was also very delicious. The grains of rice 々 stand and shine is evidence of delicious rice.

The Yamanami highway runs to Beppu area, and it turns to the left side of Kurokawa Onsen from the intersection with national route 442 where the rest house of Seno is located. Since several years ago, national route 442 has changed to a new road, and it is easy to run with a margin of road width. This inn is ”Ryokan Wakaba”. There seems to be a lot of guests in GoTo travel, and there is no space to stop in the free parking lot, so the key is left at the front desk. The night meal is room meal. When you sit in the seat and look at the drink menu, the drink using ginger seems to be delicious. When Nakai comes, you order ”ginger sweet sake” which is said to be the least alcohol. The dishes are also carried in good procedure. The dishes unique to Kumamoto are delicious, such as frost horse stab and red chicken after Kumamoto miso beef. However, Yakiniku in the room smells on the clothes. Breakfast is usually served in the hall on the first floor, but it is a lunch box in each room to prevent corona virus infection. Rice is cooked with a cherry blossom using shichijo rice, and the side dish is a delicious morning rice called 'rokuhon of kokokugo' and 'miso soup of shichijo rice, tsukitake and Minami Seki fried rice. The inn was friendly and the response was good and the hot spring was pleasant.

I stayed with my eldest son's family of 4 who live in Kumamoto. They said they had never stayed at Kurokawa Onsen even though they had lived in Kumamoto for about 6 years, so they came all the way from Saitama to pay all the expenses to us.I wonder what's going on. (lol) The accommodation was a large inn in Kurokawa Onsen, but we entered the hot springs at 4pm, 8pm, and 7am the next day, but for some reason we had almost exclusive access to the hot springs. We had a large indoor bath surrounded by a bamboo grove, and a Japanese cypress bath. There are three hot springs: two, an open-air bath, and a hot spring with an open-air bath that can be used by visitors. The second one was probably the best. The quality of the spring water is simple. The room was an ordinary Japanese-style room, but you could hear the sound of a waterfall from the river flowing beside it. The meal was a buffet, and the tuna sushi with red vinegar was excellent.Afterwards, we had various types of skewers, amberjack sashimi, roast beef, and my elementary school grandson ate 5 rolls of eel, which was overeating. There were all-you-can-drink shochu drinks. We were able to compare the drinks! The shochu from Kurokawa Onsen was delicious, and the breakfast buffet included natto and milk that were locally produced and delicious. At night, we got to see Jupiter and the moon through an astronomical telescope, and my grandson was impressed! I didn't go for a walk around the city due to the cold weather, so I just stayed at the inn, but I was able to take it easy.I think this is an inn that families can enjoy together.

It’s not a luxury ryokan and there’s only a few pictures and little info about the room. I don’t know what to expect but the photos taken by other guests around the property were truly beautiful. I stayed in the room “Shion” and it was one of the five (?) rooms that contained an en-suite bathroom. It looked like a dated traditional Japanese room in the hotel’s website, though I know that this ryokan was actually built and opened in the 90s, not an old property at all. It was located next to the nicely decorated coffee room, vending machines and close to the reception area. Dining place was just a little further. All connected under one roof. This is very important for us since it was rainy on the day we checked in. I was satisfied with the room’s decor. The room was more spacious than expected. Clean, cozy with a lovely scent of tea in the air. The in-room foot bath unique to this room was a nice touch and it was more convenient than those Kotatsu-style foot bath. We enjoyed it very much. The irori was not fired with charcoal but was covered. The arrangement is good since the charcoal fired hearth will make the room stuffy. I usually don’t like sleeping on tatami, but I slept soundly that night with the fluffy futon . Also I don’t hear any noise from the neighboring room or the traffic outside. This is not a top-tiered ryokan. You may well be aware that the number, size and quality of the towels provided cannot compare to those luxurious properties. There was no free mini-bar but just vending machines. The in-room rock bath was small and rough. There’s no butler, of course. If you have problem adjusting the temperature of your bath, you have to tell them before dinner. Dinner time is fixed at 1800 and you will certainly see other guests when you step out of your room. Nevertheless, our stay was comfortable. Staffs were polite and hospitable. The room was equipped with good heating devices, a fully automated toilet, a powerful hairdryer, and some good quality skincare, hair & body wash, which I wanted to buy. I was pleasantly surprised by these. The public and private baths were located in another side of the main building, where you need to pass through an outdoor moss-covered courtyard. We didn’t go to the public open-air bath but had checked out the private indoor baths, they’re rustic, just a bath & without any other facilities but looked interesting. Meals were served in a private room in the restaurant. It didn’t come with horse sashimi, crab, lobster or other sumptuous ingredients but it tasted good. The add-on premium Akashi beef, however, was not impressive. I decided to stay at a ryokan near the Kawabata street just because of the Yu Akari. However it turned out to be a very good experience though I still didn’t like to bump into other guests during my stay. Oyado Nishiyu is a great choice and the property has done a good job making their guests comfortable.

Fujiya is located just beside the bridge (Marusuzu Bashi bridge) along the river in the center of Kurokawa Onsen. It is a very good place to walk around Kurokawa Onsen, and the river is a comfortable inn. The staff were very polite, young but polite, and they were greeted with very comfortable hospitality. The room we stayed in was a room called ”water”. On the corner side of the room, there is a small room like an external study room, and it is the best to enjoy the scenery !! The meal is also a number of menu satisfying with a gentle taste that utilized the taste of the material 々. The hot spring is perfect, and the Chihiro no Yu for women is recommended by a small bath in the back of this and a bathtub with a feeling. You can also enter the ”noshiyu” of the sister shop about 5 minutes away for free. I felt a little hotter than Fujiya, but I think it can be enjoyed by comparing hot water. It is ”Fujiya” who wants to use when going to Kurokawa Onsen again.

The Kurokawa hot spring of the source, the horse stab, the sashimi, the salt baking of the river fish, and the tenkara were able to enjoy the food of the place 々, and the fatigue of the work was healed. The dining room was also arranged side by side like a counter table toward the window, so it was good to see the scenery outside and not care about the surroundings. The large bath is small, but there are two places for guests and hot water, so I don't care about congestion. The washing place of the inner bath was cold because the door of the open-air bath was opened or the corona countermeasure. It is a hot spring area that wants to visit again slowly again in the hot spring town with the atmosphere, including the inn, but not old, and the surrounding area.

It is a secret hot water near Kurokawa Onsen. When I stopped at the parking lot, the inn was greeted and guided immediately. There is a semi open-air bath away from all rooms. I stayed in a room called a day of forest, where I can see bamboo forest from the bath. The bath on the room is a small inn, but this is a wide rock bath, and it was the best inn I have ever used. It was also good that the bedroom and toilet was away. The family bath along the river was very hot, so the temperature was considerably lowered by water. The large bath near the mother's house, where the atmosphere stairs were down, was good in the morning and night, and it was three times, but it was rental. The meal was very delicious with morning and evening thoughts. However, it was a pity that the person in charge was a new rice, so there was no explanation of the dish. There was an explanation from the lady general at breakfast. (I think dinner books are required.) Especially rice is excellent. I returned for the first time. I heard the brand to the lady general on the way back. When I returned, I was brought with a different tea bowl and I thought my care was great. Because it was spring festival, I thought it would be ruined if there was a person in a country with a large voice, but I was able to spend very quietly at the dining room. I thought that maybe even the inn was thinking... And the dryer in the room is weak. Amenities are substantial. I was happy that there was cleaning, lotion and cotton swab in the public bath. The phone can't see the email unless you go out. The price is also reasonable compared to a famous inn nearby. During the day, stop by hot springs nearby, and if you stay here, it is the best!

1) When booking a room, I only know that breakfast/dinner is included, and when I check-in, I know that there is only one beef bento for dinner. My friend doesn't eat beef, and the hotel is also flexible. We each add more than 4,000 yen to the dinner buffet. The food provided by the buffet is not tasty, and the food is not hot, so we have to make do with it when we have no choice. It would be nice if the hotel could provide one more bento option for vegetarians/religious people. 2) The reason for choosing this hotel was to see the starry sky, but the weather was not as expected, it was cloudy and I couldn't see it. The food is not good, I didn't see the starry sky, I regret choosing this hotel.

A more modern hot spring hotel has a different feeling from a traditional Japanese-style hotel. The service is not so good. The room is very large. There are two private soups indoors and outdoors. The dinner is full and delicious. The breakfast and dinner are relatively simple. But it is not bad. It’s a pity that I only stayed for one day, and I will stay for a few more days next time.

Staffs were super friendly and helpful. Free pick-up service from the bus stop. As we arrived before check-in time, the driver dropped us at the main street and showed us where to eat and how to walk back to ryokan. The ryokan kindly offered us early check-in. Luggages were in the room already when we arrived. Front desk staff explained everything clearly. We could only book the private onsen once. Private onsen number one is a bit small, and the water was not hot enough, but the view is pretty with a small garden and rock mountain. I love the large outdoor onsen (for hotel guests only). Water was hot. Beutiful environment and great atmosphere. Changing room was clean and spacious. The smaller outdoor onsen is for public. Room was a bit old and simple, but it came with a cute balcony which I didn't expect. Food was great. Dinner was served in room, and breakfast was served in breakfast room. Overall a great ryokan experience.

I was traveling by car, and I already felt so beautiful when I arrived in front of the hotel. When you enter the hotel, the check-in attendant will ask you to put down your luggage first, and then provide you with a delicious cup of green tea and chocolate to relax you immediately! Although the waiter does not speak English, it does not hinder everyone's communication. The waiter knows how to use the phone translation software and is worthy of praise. There was a real buzzing sound when entering the room. ❤️❤️❤️ It’s so new, so clean, and so comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and have a private hot spring pool. I'm really happy. Dining is not included when booking a room, and the waiters will introduce nearby restaurants. Because I checked in for two days, I asked the waiter if I could order dinner and breakfast for the second day? Finally successfully booked. Dinner was a very exquisite kaiseki meal, the food was very good👍🏼and the portions were sufficient. The second breakfast was delicious. This hotel is really worth recommending If I have the chance, I will book this hotel again🏨

Stayed for 3 nights, in Tsuribana room with private onsen. The room is a traditional tatami room, by the fast flowing river. The entrance to the room is a kitchenette with fridge, sink and tea-making facilities, then on the left is the tatami room with cupboards and a safe, and sliding onto a balcony looking straight onto the river, and on the right is the toilet and sink, then beyond is the onsen with the usual shower and the bath itself. You can sit in the bath and gaze out onto the trees with the sounds of the river and the birds - it sounds heavenly, and it is! The road is the other side of the river, but you don't notice it as it's hidden in the trees and a way above the Ryokan. Plus the sounds of the river drown out any traffic noise. Such a beautiful place to stay! This was our third week out of a four week tour of Japan, and a rest period. We stayed in plenty of ryokan, but none quite like this. The gardens, all with streams running through, weave through the buildings of the ryokan so that the whole thing feels absorbed in nature. Not much english was spoken, but just enough to go with our japanese, and the staff were so helpful and friendly, always there when needed. There was a little lounge and firepit by the reception where you could get tea or coffee at any time, and a little fridge where you coud buy the amazing local yogurt. There are lots of walks straight from the Ryokan, plus Mt. Aso and other activities within a short drive. Wed had a hire car but barely used it. So, onto the food: We had breakfast and dinner included. Without exception, every single thing we were served wa beautifully presented, delicious and an adventure!

The hotel is hidden in the valley, the scenery is beautiful, and the beautiful maple leaves are seen. It is about 10 minutes by car from the Kurokawa Onsen Bus Station. There is a hotel shuttle service. Girls thought that they would eat out of the wall like many other hot spring hotels, so dinner and breakfast were really unsatisfactory. At the same time, since there is a shuttle bus from the hot spring town center, there is nothing to eat nearby. It is recommended that you prepare some snacks to prepare yourself from time to time! In addition, there is no good-looking yukata kimono. In short, the coat and cape are like the welcome in the hotel lobby, which is very disillusioned.

Go from the front desk to the back and cross the bridge on the river and enter the building with the room. It is a clean and rustic inn. In addition to the open-air bath and the public bath, there are 6 rental baths that are aimed at each. The bath is free to enter if it is empty rather than a reservation system. It is also convenient to be able to confirm ”empty” on the TV in the room. The meal is served in a private room prepared for each room near the front desk in the morning and evening. It was not a menu that was aimed at, but it was a dish with a feeling of handmade. From the pick-up, the guide, the meal waiter and one person were in charge. I had a service that matched the pace of the customer without hurrying. In the morning, he was sent to the master of the inn and received a handwritten thank you later.

Although the location is in the mountains and the road to get there by car is rough. I am very satisfied with the room condition and size. The surrounding scenery is very beautiful, but because it is deep in the mountains, the air is on a different level. The Finnish sauna and bathtub facilities are luxurious, and all appliances for dining are provided. There's also a beam project, so it's a good place to spend time. It would have been nice if they had informed me in advance that check-in would be done without anyone and that room check-in instructions would be sent via email. Unlike ryokans, breakfast and dinner are not provided, but you can get them at the nearby Kurokawa Onsen. The surrounding scenery was so beautiful and the air was clean, so my parents who took me there were very satisfied. As I was checking out, I saw a raccoon running and the kids were screaming with excitement. I'm planning a return visit and I think it would be a good idea to stay for more than 2 nights.

The hotel is very close to the hotel with a person at the entrance, indicating where to park, very close reception that explains everything and accompany you to the room, with tea service and sweets nothing more to reach. The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre and is located in the heart of the city centre. At the divorce, you are surprised by the shoes you gave when you arrived warm and thank you in cold days.

This is the impression of traveling in the corona misfortune and cold. If you take a walk around the inn, you will find seven waterfalls, and the road is well maintained, so it is worth visiting in early summer. It doesn't have the power of Nabegataki in the same small country, but it's definitely a little-known spot. As expected, it was cold and I walked back to the inn for an hour. It was as magnificent as the open-air bath of Gajoen in Myoken Onsen and Gekkouju in Kurokawa Onsen. It was cold though. The quality of the hot springs was generally good! The reputation of the meal was high, but the taste was not good for me. Even so, the waiter in charge was lively and it was a fun time ♪

It was a quiet inn a little far from the center of the hot spring town. There seems to be a transfer service to the center of the hot spring town. You can go to the center in about 15 minutes on foot on the slope. I stayed in a Mezzone type room. On the 1 floor, there is an inner bath and an open-air bath, a washroom and a toilet, and a massage machine, so you can spend it with nonbilli. The inner bath and the open-air bath are connected by the door, but the underside of the door is open, and the washing place of the inner bath was cold this season. There were other large open-air and rental open-air baths, and I enjoyed the bath. Dinner was very delicious and satisfied with both mass. The service is well served and it is a popular inn. There were many breakfasts and rice, and of course the rice was delicious and satisfied. I think it was a good inn because I want to be nonbillied in the inn. I want to stay in a flat house type room this time.

It's a Beautiful mountain lodging ryokan about 7 minutes by car from Kurokawa town center. It sits next to rice field. The entry walkway to main building was beautiful with different colors of tree leaves. There are several rooms, restaurant, gift shop, fireplace areas in lobby of main building. We stayed in the individual stand alone villa with private outdoor bath looking into courtyard. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, cozy and spacious. Staffs were more than just helpful and genuinely looking after our every needs. We got there earlier before check in time at 3pm. They held our luggage and drove us to town center despite we had our own car so that we could be free from worrying of driving in windy roads. There were 6 public onsen bath for guests to use. We didn't try them as we had our private one in room. But the thoughtful design of 1 men, 2 women and 3 family public baths impressed us. For guests who enjoy mingle with other travelers, there are library with piano, observatory room with telescope to see stars, and open fireplace sitting room. The meals were scrumptious and plentiful, using local ingredients even with home grown rice. We loved every bites. We will definitely return to this mountain retreat ryokan in different season for scenery and local food.

Meals and services are as others write. Kurokawa Onsen is 3 degrees. At first, it seems to be abolished like thinking ”is this abolition village?” before this became popular, and the hot spring was good but rough, and the inn was bad, and it was the end of the hearing from Nakai San about the bad mouth of other inn. After that, it became popular what happened, and when it revisited, it was issued by the inn as' hot water bill ', and people other than the guests could enjoy hot springs. ”It became a good hot spring area.” I thought so. ... but it is a little change, but the competition consciousness between the inn feels like a nose. There were some impossible times for the time to put the hot water bill and the time to use it, and it was difficult to use. It's small, so there's no way to do it now, but I'm worried that I feel a disturbing wind just knowing when it was abolished.

A quiet remote inn in Okukurokawa. There are only 8 rooms in the vast land. Because each room has a bath, I don't meet people in the large open-air bath, and I rarely meet people in the hotel. The room is a calm Japanese-style room. The floor I stayed on was on the 2nd floor, but when I opened a door, I went down the stairs to the 1st floor from here and went to the indoor bath. The bathroom is filled with steam and is a hot spring that flows directly from the source. The service is also substantial. Welcome fruit was prepared in the refrigerator. The food is also vegetables from the home vegetable garden and locally produced Japanese beef. The rice is also delicious with locally produced ”Akigeshiki”. It was a satisfying hotel in everything.
