The hotel's facilities and services are very good, especially the front desk during the few days we stayed, very enthusiastic, the printing service provided by the hotel is also cheap, lower than most hotels, it is very conscience. There are two large supermarkets next to the hotel, which can be reached within 5 minutes on foot from the business district. The room is rectangular. Only the side where the door is opened has a window, and the other sides are not breathable.

There is no breakfast, and parking is actually charged. The waiter is black, which is poor. I will not take the initiative to tell you to put a piece of paper for parking on the windshield. If you do n’t put it, you will be fined $ 65. Domestic one-bedroom apartment buildings, the rooms are particularly noisy, there are nightclubs downstairs, and there are planes in the sky. If the air conditioner is not turned on, it will be very hot and meetings will be noisy. In short, the price of chicken ribs, if not for the next day to catch a plane, do not choose here.

I am blown away by the amazing service, the cleanliness, the spacious room and design of this place. The staff have to be praised for being so accommodating and helpful. Genuine kindness from them provides such a good atmosphere and you don't feel like ”just another guest”. While it's hard to praise all staff, one in particular stood out. Grace from room service was so humble and kind and I hope that management sees this review and passes on the positive feedback. Thank you Grace :) I highly recommend this place for short or long term stays. They live up to the Accor standards and it's refreshing to see service like this at it's best! Thank you Sebel Manukau for a home away from home :)

Facilities, location & amenities are good in the studio rooms. Cleanliness was really good, the only thing would be that because there are no windows in the room there is a musty smell every time you enter it, having come from outside. The service would be an area for improvement more so around knowledge. When signing the room contract I was asking the receptionist questions about how to do early check out and what is turndown service but she said she didn’t know much about the contract and didn’t she didn’t advise us that to get a “2nd key” we needed to download an app to gain access to our rooms as we had to use the keycard we were given for powering the room. Also functions on our TV weren’t working so we called the receptionist and he said it should be there, but the HDMI option wasn’t showing. So he finished our phone call with I don’t know, we can’t help you with that, we don’t have a technician. I managed however to work it out using Google.

Doesnt look much from the outside but the rooms have been nicely renovated and have everything you need for an over night stay (disregard the slept in beds!). Shared communal kitchen on the ground floor if you dont want to eat out. No elevator so if you dont like stairs ask for a ground floor unit. Walking distance to fast food restaurants and backs onto shopping centre with foodcourt kmart and countdown. 20 minutes or so from airport so close if you need a cheap overnight stay before or after a flight. 2 adults and 2 small children, room was big enough for us all and beds for everyone.

I stayed at the property on the 5th February 2023, in Auckland for work. The checkin process was easy, the room was new, clean and pleasant But at 12.30am i was woken to somebody trying to get into my room. I thought they had the wrong room and would realise but then i heard the lock go and the door started to open which is when i jumped out of bed and stopped the person from coming through. He was standing there with a key in his hand and a bag. He said he thought the room was empty !!! In the morning i looked at the door handle and there was nowhere on the door that a key could be inserted they were opened with a card I reported this to the reception in the morning and told them to check the cameras in the building, the response i got back was not good enough and i was told there was a night porter on. I didn't see a night porter on the property If a guy can access my room in the middle of the night then that means that myself and my belongings were not safe at this property I sent them a follow up email last week and have heard nothing from them

Fantastic place, extremely clean and tidy. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. It had everything you need in a kitchen to make the basics - though we just made a cheese etc platter and then had a few glasses of wine. TV in both the lounge and the bedroom. I was able to arrange early check-in, I just phoned ahead on the day to make sure it was still okay. Very quiet. Such a great location; a home away from home really. Will 100% be back!

Having to come to Auckland after the sudden death of my father we were pleased to be able to book our first night at the Quest, but disappointed we couldn’t stay for the duration of our visit. Again superb service on arrival which was again surpassed after lunch. Arriving back at the hotel , Atek the duty manager advised us that due to a cancellation and changes made by the staff we could in fact stay at the Quest for our time here. Atek your empathy, efficiency and caring made a difficult situation so much better. The Quest Hotel is indeed fortunate to have you as an employee and you will always be remembered by us for your caring and genuine understanding. The word has been spread around my family and friends. Well done Atek and the Quest. Again nothing but superb service and accommodation. Thank you. Mike and Kay Legge. May 09 2022.

Originally through work I was booked a studio room - when I checked in the lady at the front desk was lovely. When I entered my room it smelled strongly of cleaner but unfortunately the bathroom/shower area was still disappointing. There was a lot of mould and grime in the shower area and the grout of the tiles. I couldn't have showered there. When I went back to the front desk to explain, and enquire about another room, I was kindly upgraded to one of the apartments beside the Burger King and had a much more pleasing stay. The apartment was new, sleek, super clean and had beautiful finishings. I would definitely stay in the apartments again. It was near to lots of different eateries, conveniently close to the motorway and a great location.

The outlook is beautiful, the room was lovely and clean. However, unfortunately we got the room next to the kitchen and it was very noisy, not well insulated at all. The kitchen is fantastic and very well equipped. The guy who booked us in was lovely. The only issue we had was that the owner charges 4% surcharge for using a card to pay which is a total rip off, especially when the payment is processed on line by them. The banks do not charge 4%.

Location is in the city of Parnell, more than half an hour's walk from the CBD. This is the palace of the Queen of Tonga. It is a relatively simple holiday home, 3 floors, wooden structure, high lift, kitchen to cook by yourself, shared bathroom - good hot water, washing machine, garden. There is a supermarket nearby. If you want to cook for yourself, you can go back and buy ingredients. There is also a very lively street nearby, with some cafes, restaurants and small shops. Less than five minutes walk, you can go to the Holy Trinity Church and St. Mary's Church. Overall is good. The service is basically invisible, the store is small, and no service personnel can be seen. Upon arrival, the room was ready and clean. Other self-help is just fine. There is a small heating in the house, very intimate.

The only thing that redeems this hotel is the airport transfers. Honestly how this hotel is still trading is a miracle. The rooms are not only dated the curtains are torn everything is just glued together and playing a waiting game. The rooms are clean. you are a long way from anywhere unless you have a car it is hard to get around. We had to book 2 nights as we came in the early morning on one night 4.30 am . Look if you are transferring and just need a bed which is all the hotel caters to in reality. The pool was a deep mossy green the walkways are lifting the walls are full of spac filler. Sorry but next time I will stay at the Novotel which is right at the airport.

I didn't stay at the Heritage Hotel in Christchurch, but I thought about staying in Auckland to experience the style of the historical buildings! A little disappointed, the room is very big, the inside is very old, and the layout is very strange🤣 Outside the window is a messy dump, no one helps with luggage, the room aisle is very long, and the old wooden floor is creaking There is a sense of antiquatedness from a long time ago, without the texture of cultural tradition The location is very good, the Sky Tower is just outside the door! It's only the size of Auckland, and the Sky Tower is beside you when you walk there😄

Our family of 5 stayed during a 3 night holiday to Auckland, choosing this accommodation as not many can accommodate 3 child families, and also liked the location within close proximity to the mall etc. The layout and space was good but that's pretty much where it ends. It appears that some of the units may have been renovated but our unit was obviously not one of them. The room was rough, with holes in walls purely patched, one electrical socket was even hanging out of the wall. Our bathroom window would not shut probably so we had to ensure lights were off to reduce bug visitors. The place was also grotty, the sink etc needed a good clean, initially I thought the old timber etc might just be stained etc due to age but one wipe of a tissue over the skirting board revealed thick dust. The light fitting in the bathroom was full of dead bugs. About 3 blown bulbs in the unit. The crockery was stained and much of it with chips and cracks. The location and space means with some much needed TLC our unit would be great... but as it stands we wouldn't stay here again as for $235 per night we were terribly disappointed.

Ponsonby

Along with Parnell, Ponsonby is our favourite place to stay in Auckland. We stayed at the Great Ponsonby Art Hotel again this year and have no regrets. We always enjoy returning here. Parking is no problem in the hotel grounds or on the street. The small, beautifully furnished hotel offers the kind of hospitality we like most: the staff are attentive and very friendly. The service has been just perfect. This time there were three of us travelling together and we booked the penthouse room and one of the three pavilions behind the house. The balcony and garden are perfect for enjoying an aperitif or a take-away menu. If you're lucky, the odd bird will pay you a visit - this time a kingfisher was a special guest. The rooms are clean and pleasantly large. The pavilions are outfitted with new bath rooms. The cooked breakfast is a dream, just like in the good old days when there were many more B&Bs in New Zealand than there are today. Ponsonby Street has a great selection of restaurants and there is something to suit almost every palate. We were never disappointed. And last but not least Ponsonby is perfectly located for a stroll to the CBD and many sights as the Auckland Museum or the Auckland Art Gallery. We shall return.

Ian was very accommodating - when we checked in, we weren’t sure how many nights we would need as our flight had not been re-booked at that time, so he moved us to a room that was available for at least 3 nights. Our room (12) was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The mall at New Lynn is within walking distance and has plenty of food options as well as shops. Do not stay here. This place is absolutely disgusting. I have never been so grossed out in my life. The sheets were filthy and made everyone’s skin itchy. We ended up staying awake the whole night to protect our belongs and not to catch what ever was in the beds. The bathroom was the worst part. The roof and walls were covered an green and black mould and the shower floor was grimey and slippery. The motel is hosting Housing New Zealand guest who are extremely noisy parting until early hours of the morning. Cars were racing up and down the driveway all night and the other guest were threatening us and implying they were going to steal our belongings. We had to drop our car to a family members in Auckland as we were told the car would be broken into if we left it in the car park. When we approached the manager and explained our distress he said “ you are a liar , you have a plan and trying to get your money back from me” We explained we were not looking for money, we wanted him to realise this place is foul and not suitable for guests. He kept saying “you are a liar, you are a dirty liar , you planted the dirt”. We explained we had seen illegal activity within the premises and he told us he was going to contact the other guest to come “have a chat” with us. We stayed in a city facing studio on the sixth floor. The bed was comfortable and daily servicing of the room okay. The facilities are quite good with adequate crockery and cutlery, a cooker and dishwasher. Also the shower room incorporates a washing machine and drier which we used successfully. Powder and d/w powder were supplied and replaced as used. Towels were decent quality and replaced daily. Not luxurious accommodation but served our needs well.
