This hotel is everything you want in a hotel. Clean, well located, friendly staff and outstanding rooms. Have a studio suite with a bedroom door gives you space if you need it. If one of you likes to stay up late you won’t disturb the other person. The kitchen has a stove microwave full size fridge and all utensils. Breakfast has scrambled eggs , egg whites, waffle maker, toast potatoes bagel sandwiches several juices oatmeal great coffee and plenty of seating. Parking is $25 which is fair compared to other hotels downtown. It is self parking and there are plenty of spaces. Super easy and convenient. Pool is clean and gym has all the basic’s elliptical treadmill weights. Definitely recommend so many restaurants near by and the Capital Park across the street for a morning stroll. I always felt safe. Thank you to the employees here who really work hard and are super kind efficient and friendly. Check in took about 5 minutes and was seamless. Also They have a little commissary to buy essentials and snacks as well in the lobby.

I was in town for a conference at this hotel and decided to stay here for convenience. Front desk staff were, for the most part, delightful for the entire four nights I stayed. My room was spacious with a semi decent view and a mini terrace, though the door didn’t actually open more than a few inches, so one couldn’t avail of the terrace itself… that being said, it was nice to be able to get fresh air into the room! The TV in the room was huge and I am always grateful for a mini fridge, though I couldn’t get this one very cold. One thing that did leave a lot to be desired was the general cleanliness of my room, which I will give 3/5. The vacuuming was very poor (there were remnants of a previous guest’s food on the floor) and layers of heavy dust in the bathroom. It could definitely do with a deep clean! I also used the guest microwaves in the lobby on several occasions — both were filthy with splattered food (gross) and neither had a turntable. Another disappointment was one staff member (who was in the middle of training a new front desk member) — everyone was lovely except for her, when I asked the possibility of a late checkout on my final day. Her response was curt and quite rude: “I can’t tell you if you can or cannot get a late checkout. You have to understand our housekeeping needs and availability. You have to understand there are a lot of guests who will probably be asking the same thing…”. Coming from a customer service background myself, one should NEVER tell a guest what they “need to understand” — there are far better ways to explain this. She also never once said anything along the lines of “I’m sorry, this might not be possible” … it was just poor customer service, which was a shame. This aside, the hotel was very quiet and I slept well (and deeply) each night. Oh, and I got locked out of my room on the day I was checking out — it turns out the battery had died in my door lock, so the front desk staff had to call security, who then called maintenance. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long and both security and maintenance were super fabulous and quick to fix the issue. PS If you do decide to stay here, I hope you get as much of a giggle out of the elevator constantly saying “going down” as I did! :) PPS Location was excellent!

I was visiting Sacramento for a symposium at the Sacramento Convention Center. The Sheraton and Hyatt were recommended properties because of their proximity to the venue, and attendees were split between the two properties. I chose the Sheraton for the Marriott rewards points. But, by most measures, the Hyatt was a superior property. I would characterize the guestrooms at the Sheraton as ”well-worn” and overdue for renovations. For example, the bathtub in my room had a permanently discolored concavity that collected a significant amount of standing water. I visited a colleague in one of the suites, and all of the seat cushions were fraying, and the furniture was dated (like early '90s). The pool area was also depressing, especially relative to the resort-like atmosphere offered at the Hyatt. On the upside, the staff members were all friendly (including a delightful 16th-floor housekeeper who went out of her way to check in with me in the hallway and asked if everything was going well with my stay), and the gym was spacious and well-equipped (one of the best hotel gyms I've visited in recent memory).

Stayed two nights in a visit that included nearby theater. Other theaters also close by. Lots of restaurants nearby at various price levels. Walking distance to many Sacramento sights including the State Capitol. The negative part is that the area has a goodly number of vagrants and possible addicts. A key card is needed to open the metal fence gate to use the stairs and exterior walkways to the rooms. That being said the room itself was good, clean and well maintained with a very comfortable bed.

The hotel breakfast will start at 8:30, because it is necessary to hurry, so if you don't eat, the meal coupon will be wasted. The hotel offers free coffee and tastes good. I was overcharged at the time of check-in. Fortunately, I found out in time that the money was returned and the front desk was too unprofessional.

Overall: would stay again! Nice hotel, room, bar, food, very convenient location. LOCATION: Convenient! Right next to DOCO and the Golden 1 Center. Old Sac is a few minutes walk away. Public transport nearby. HOTEL: The decor was a lovely, sophisticated, modern take on various historical periods. Music is a theme, nodding to the historic past of the building. Balcony bar - Art Deco. Clean, eye-catching, charming. Emerald velvet chairs and gold-toned metal accents, whimsical 1920’s & ‘30’s music playing overhead, and servers dressed in simple roaring ‘20’s attire. Menu: Small bites. Phyllo baked brie, oysters, ahi poke, short ribs, Asian lettuce wraps, and more. 1st floor restaurant - “7th Street Standard”, is the name. Bright & elegant with simplicity. This restaurant can be a standalone; it’s better than a “hotel restaurant” in food quality, artistry, and presentation. Didn’t eat here this time, but have before. I recall everything being good! Great drinks last time!! Had happy hour drinks this time ($10), still great! Handcrafted, fresh, subtle sweetness for balance, nothing syrupy or fake-colored (reg price $15). Happy hour food and drinks available 3-6pm. Full menu includes trout, salmon, pork belly, and other goodies. ROOM: I like the decor. The lamps were cool: gold dipped bulbs, bronze-colored cones, retro meets are deco feel. There’s a handy motion-censored light under the bathroom vanity when you don’t want to turn on a bright light at night, light-framed mirror for easy getting ready, spacious bathroom. Views from my particular room were not worth seeing. Good blackout curtains in-room, lots of natural light when open. Bathroom basics included: shampoo, conditioner, lotion soap. Not included: q-tips, cotton balls, etc. The mini fridge could fit some small leftover food boxes. Plenty of outlets near the bed. I don’t recall any food snacks offered for sale. $5 Fiji. Open rack closet, and drawers available. I believe my room was 320 sqft, with enough space to roll out a mat and do a room workout, if that’s your thing (or gym on 4th floor). AREA OFFERINGS: There’s a Starbucks Reserve steps from the hotel and many places to eat, drink & entertain within easy walking distance (steakhouse, bowling alley, movies, rooftop pool bar, beer vault, and SO much more!). While it’s a nice area (million-dollar condos and attractions next door), another block over in one direction becomes a not-so-nice area (homelessness and refuse), so just be mindful of what direction you’re heading, if that bothers you. PARKING: There are unattended daily parking lots right next to the hotel ($13-$16ish/10hrs), hourly metered parking, attended hourly/daily lots, valet ($40 seems to get you 2-day parking with in & out privileges; I valeted early evening, pickup needed before 2:45-ish a.m. on the third day). Valet had a very easy texting system. They texted me my valet ticket with a clickable link to call my car when desired. The link let me know the progress of my incoming car (“requested”, “on the way”, “ready”), so I knew exactly when I needed to head out and could enjoy my time until then. You can tip through the link, too.

Okay, so I'm not a Fiddler on a Roof, but I will ”sing the praises” of the staff at the Red Roof Inn. Some home improvements recently mandated that I find a place to stay for a couple of weeks with my dogs. I initially stayed two nights at a cheap corporate-managed competitor but felt that something was missing. I travelled nearby and met Angie at the Red Roof Inn. She was welcoming and enticed me to stay there answering my safety, service, and amenity concerns (I needed a place for my 2 dogs, and appreciated that the rooms promised a microwave, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, and coffeemaker...the only thing that was missing was a safe but my dogs don't wear Cartier Collar Bling so we were good.) When I returned later to book a room, Maria helped me find the courtesy reservation made by Angie. Maria has been a super star throughout my stay. She works various shifts and is always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I am not sure if the rooms have recently been renovated but I was pleased with the decor and my comfortable king-sized bedroom (I could visualize this room being in much pricier hotels I have stayed in). I was assisted by four different room attendants, my favorite being Shereen. The other helpful attendants were Shabeena, Riley, and Sovita. Before checking out for a weekend trip, I notified Jesse (maintenance) of a broken electrical plug...when I checked back in 3-days later, it was fixed. While I was away, I received a call from Mahogany verifying my upcoming reservation. I had forgotten to call the property and really appreciated her follow up. Mahogany was always great along with Evelyn, who always called me by name and made me feel like family. The other two front desk agents who helped me were Melini and O'Neal. I mention all whom I met by name because they all prove that you don't have to be a Five-Star Hotel to give Five-Star Service. I noticed many members of this team helping each other instead of having an ”it's not my job” attitude. I believe a team is only as good as the management so I have to also give kudos to Amit and Aneesh. The neighborhood is not the greatest but the property is literally up against a CHP office. They offer free parking (always had a close space) and I never felt unsafe (I was approached once by a young lady who Donna Summer might have referred to as a ”Bad Girl,” but after a quick, ”toot toot, hey, beep beep,” I let her know that she was barking up the wrong tree...as my dogs barked at her!). The property does have a washer and a dryer (working), as well as, an ice machine (broken after first night) and two vending machines (not working during my stay). There is a Jack in the Box across the street but, while you could walk 10-20 minutes, you really need to drive to a close market or convenience store. All in all, this is very good property. I signed up for Trip Advisor just to compliment this staff. This is the first time I have stayed at a Red Roof In

The experience was phenomenal. Everything was perfect. Ice machine didn’t work but that wasn’t a problem because of the fridge keeping drinks cool. The laundry washers worked so well. The Jacuzzi was perfect. I really enjoyed staying at this place and I wish they let me stay another night. I reserved a king room but some reason arrived to a downgrade and a discount room. They saved me some money. Well appreciated.

Our last stay was 6/18/22 We adore the staff! (Lei, Shelly, Angela, Ronaldo to name a few) The hotel is finally doing a renovations and I can't wait to see the improvements. Walls are thin. There is a train near by. Those don't bother us. We come to swim most of the time. I really like the fact that this location takes care of Elite Bonvoy memebers! This location is great with in walking distance to Cal Expo. We have walked many times to the Sacramento Republic Games.

The front desk attendant was very polite. The lobby was very clean and hade a nice aesthetic. So was (and did) my room. I was surprised that they had pump bottles for the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. A little bummed that they weren't all the same scent though. Other bummers were that the curtains let in too much light. Easy enough to fix by rolling over, or putting a pillow in front of my face. It wasn't THAT bright. And the mini fridge was really loud when trying to cool off. This was also easily fixed. I just turned the thermostat to it's lowest setting. It was silent the rest of the stay. And not a bummer, but the heater is apparently controlled by the wall thermostat that I completely missed. Took longer than I'm willing to admit pressing the off button on the A/C unit. So all in all, I early enjoyed my stay! Oh, almost forgot the breakfast! It was your standard continental affair. Eggs (scrambled or hardboiled), sausage patties, toastable breads, griddle, yogurt, juice dispenser. All self serve of course. I was not able to review the pool. If it was ever open, it wasn't while I was there (I left before 9am and got back after 10pm every day).

I’m extremely dissatisfied with my experience at the DoubleTree. I arrived at my room at approximately 5pm and immediately lowered the thermostat temperature to cool the hot room, then went to dinner. Returned at approximately 8:30pm and my room was still hot and humid. I went to the front desk to report the malfunctioning ac unit and I asked for a bottle water to help bear the heat. One employee reached for the water but was stopped by another employee who told me my Hilton status was too low for complimentary bottle water, but I could go buy some from the restaurant. When maintenance arrived at my room his heat gun measured the air blowing from the vent at 84 degrees. He repaired the wall unit and cool air began to flow. He said he would tell the front desk that if it malfunctions again to move me to a different room. At 2am I woke up to a hot and humid room. The ac unit was blowing hot air again. I called the front desk and spoke with Swasti A. to report the malfunctioning unit so I could be moved to a new room and she said there was no note from maintenance. She said she could not move me to a new room, but I could try opening my window and maintenance would be back onsite at 6am. She never once apologized for the inconvenience. I could not sleep in the hot room so I stayed awake until 6am then called back the front desk requesting maintenance. Eddie from maintenance arrived soon after and apologized repeatedly. He attempted a repair but per his heat gun the air was not cooling quickly and he suspected it would malfunction again. He said he would try to find me a new room and returned in minutes to take me to the new room. I was exhausted from my sleepless night but gladly moved my belongings to the new room for my second nights stay. Eddie showed empathy and exhibited excellent customer service. Unfortunately the front desk and Swasti showed no empathy and never apologized. I left the DoubleTree feeling very unappreciated.

A Cool place to stay and good experience but nothing in my room worked. The outlets and usb did not work and could not plug my phone in. The tv was not clear and fuzzy. The hotel phone in the room did not work. The room did not have a blanket. The bathroom needed a good cleaning. The girl who checked us in was not not helpful and didn’t know about the hotel. She also told us to come back for ice then said she was the only one there and could not get it and told us to walk to the bar. The guy at the bar didn’t seem happy to leave the bar to get the ice. The food was good and the dinning staff was amazing.

Platinum member with Choice. Made reservation on Mobile app. Attempted to check in. Was going to pay with CC on file with Choice for 5yrs. Is a reloadable card registed to me with all info, also on file with Choice. Use Nationwide on a weekly basis. However, because has no chip, clerk said they could not take. Ridiculous policy. Clerk refused to charge to CC. So paid cash with $100 deposit. Had to sign a form which said could not get back until 1000am. Was 1130pm and tired. Did not dispute thinking was just a protection against transient or shady guests. No, is for everyone. With an appointment with customer at 1000am, I attempted to check out and was informed I could not get my cash deposit back until 1000am. When Manager arrived. I missed appointment with customer..possibly costing me a money. Do not expect to be treated with any respect or any different than some random off the street person. You will not. I, as a Platinum member will never stay here again. Choice has been notified and I am going to pursue this so others will not have to deal with a policy, which could very well be illegal. Will find out. Stay at own risk. Never again.

Company holiday party was held a couple of blocks away so location was perfect. We were checking in at the front desk (6:04 pm)and the Hotel Registration Clerk said that ”Happy Hour” had just ended (6:00 pm). She asked if we would like a glass of wine (part of Happy Hour). We said ”yes” and less than 5 minutes later we both had glasses of a quite good Pinot Noir (red). The same Registration Clerk also had the extra pillows i had requested delivered to the room shortly after we entered our room. The room was tastefully decorated in muted grey & red tones and the mini bar was fully stocked. There were soft jersey robes to lounge in. In addition to the robes the room contained a yoga mat, reusable water bottles, wine bottle opener & other assorted items for sale if you were interested. The room was extremely quiet which considering all of the construction going on in the area was welcomed. All in all I would give the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel 4.75/5 stars. The .25 deduction was due to the extra firm mattress on the bed. The mattress was so firm that it was not comfortable for side sleepers.

It is 20 minutes walk from the center. The place is not the most scenic, literally over the head passes hyvey - a little tense noise at night. The motel is certainly not in the best state, but overall clean. And for its money is just a find for America! The truth is that because of this, there was a very fast contingent - some alcophriks and any non-reliable visitors. At the same time, a simple breakfast with a Swedish table was included for this money. What was on the menu: omlet, chicken sausages, Belgian waffles, yoghurt, two kinds of toasts and belongings to them, oven, coffee/tea/sok. There was a CFS nearby if you need to eat day or night. Parking is big and free. The manager is Russian-speaking.

Comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. Best location in Sacramento. Everything is walkable. Good government rate. This is an old, 1970s building that has not been renovated since construction. The windows are original material. They do not seal. The room is a yellowish beige. There might be only two electrical plugs in the entire room, but none by the bed. Doors are original wooden material. Air conditioning keeps the room cool but not without a racket. I spent two days here in June. I slept comfortably. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Had parking been free this would be a four-star review.

Customer Service by the front office has always been great and helpful and James is very knowledgeable, helpful and doing a great job. It's unfortunate that the prior 2 guests were un- happy. This hotel is 100% safe, and there is no broken-down cars. I think since I have been here so long I would know what's going on around here. The only thing that could be changed is an update on the furniture. Other than that GREAT HOTEL!!

In addition to breakfast, sausages, eggs, waffles, buns, cereals, milk, coffee, and fruit, as well as gourmet food made on-site, good food! The most want to say is that here and the Hilton on the edge of the airport, not comparable, but the price is almost! If you rent a car, get together for 10 minutes. The suite is two TVs, but watching TV sleeps does not interfere with each other! The bridge outside the window is golden! There is a microwave in the refrigerator, but it is not big.

I wish I could rate Zero, or negative five. This place is absolutely DISGUSTING!! Racist, rude, lying, scamming, and definitely NOT following any sort of cleaning procedure at all. When I checked in there was still lipstick and jizz all over the sheets from the last people using the room. The hotel staff totally knew about it because the bed WAS MADE!!! But the sheets hadn’t been changed. The tub leaked, the light fixture looked like it was five seconds from falling off the wall, there were dirty dishes in the drawers, the floors left the bottoms of my feet black after walking on them, and when I asked for more towels, every single one had black smudges and fingerprints all over them, “clean” sheets were the same case. We saw them spraying everything with Clorox bleach spray in the laundry room so I doubt they wash anything properly. There were bedbugs and a huge bloodstain in the middle of the mattress, I SLEPT IN MY CAR EVERY NIGHT!! I checked out one night early because I couldn’t bear to go back another day. I took the front desk up to the room to see what I meant by how deplorable it was— they agreed and originally returned me my $100 deposit. Then five days later after I complained to corporate and wrote several scathing reviews they changed my file to say that I destroyed the room (even tho prior to my complains I had never been told this) and then charged me that $100 deposit. When I called back to ask why, they told me that magically five days after I left they noticed I destroyed the room so they had to charge me, and if I didn’t understand maybe they should tell me in Spanish (because I have an Hispanic last name). This place’s unprofessional front desk staff has yelled at me, hung up on me, and lied to me, and they’ll do the same to you unless you show up with an hourly need and a drug dependency. DO NOT STAY HERE. Sleep in your car, you’ll be happier than I was because you didn’t have to pay almost $500 for it.

Traumatizing experience do not stay Who likes to be woken up at 6:30 in the morning? How about being woken up by the sound of your door opening? We’ll that’s what happened to me on Oct 17. At 6:30am I am woken up by the sound of my hotel door opening. I sprint towards the door to slam it on the intruder and look through the peephole to watch the intruder scurry away with a cart of some sort. After calling the front desk, they said it was a “maintenance man.” What? Why? Also, why would the maintenance man run away down the hall? Though I was furious l, I was equally tired. Without a deadbolt, I resorted to pushing furniture against the door to feel safe. I felt like a kid practicing for what to do in a school shooting. Fast forward to 10:30am. At checkout, I explained that someone came in my room, unannounced at 6:30. All I was given was “the maintenance guy made a mistake and went in your room.” No empathy. No sorry. No anything. I will never stay at this place ever again. The experience was horrible. The staff lacked empathy and responsibility for their actions. Don’t stay here.

We were in town from Oregon to meet with extended family. Originally we planned to stay downtown, but rates at the major hotels, with taxes and parking, were at $500 per night for a stay in grubby, dirty downtown Sac City. Here, about 5 miles away, we found excellent lodging. The facility is new, crisp, and designed thoughtfully. Staff were unfailingly friendly. Breakfast, made to-order and included in the rate, was outstanding - we had avocado toast topped with a well-prepared egg, onion and cheese; the preparer did her thing with a smile. Noise was not a factor. We appreciated that the room had blackout shades - now, only, if they could cure the troublesome light from the microwave. Room size was impressively generous. Public areas were also generous - it would be possible to meet friends and hang out in these areas. Access to the hotel off the freeway is a bit circuitous but easily managed with your GPS. We would highly recommend this hotel.

This is the worst Marriott hotel I have ever stayed in. It is in a good location, not far from the airport and the California Capitol, but the service is extremely poor and the attitude is stubborn. No breakfast will be provided during the epidemic. I will not inform you about other Marriott hotels I have stayed in. There is no breakfast dine-in, but breakfast package is provided.

Sacramento can be a somewhat difficult place for overnight travelers on a budget. This Motel 6 has been around for a while and has gone through some changes over time. One of the major changes is security. There's a high fence around it with key access gates to keep out non-guests. There are a lot of homeless and other questionable types wandering the area. The lobby is locked and guests register at an outside window which can take a very long time and is very uncomfortable on a typically hot afternoon in Sacramento. Registration procedures seem to take forever and require a bunch of identification for all guests in each room you book, signed and initialed agreements to policies, a $100 damage deposit for each room and on and on. As we were registering, the line of those waiting to register got longer and longer, most of them sweating in the bright afternoon sun. Not good. The rooms were OK, but not really up to Motel 6 standards. They were clean but worn, scratches on the furniture and sink countertop, light fixtures not complete, electrical outlets not working, etc. No tv remote in room, got one from the office. It didn't work. The beds, however, were excellent and very comfortable. Our rooms were on the I-5 side of the building -- the freeway is probably no more than 50 feet away from the building if that. The roar of traffic is constant. One night, some kind of construction was taking place on the freeway right outside our window. It was loud and went on till about 4 am. Not good. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but they are behind protective glass, it's difficult to communicate, and the check in procedures are complicated and time-consuming. There must be a way to make it better, easier on staff and guests alike. Staff was pleasant and tried to

My husband & I recently stayed overnight to see KISS at the Aftershock Festival at Discovery Park. We were very pleased. The Hotel is clean, modern & bright. Hotel is next to the Freeway but we hardly noticed any noise. The complimentary breakfast was good, something for everyone, fresh fruit, toast, bagels, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, make your own waffle station, juice & coffee. We felt very safe as it is near an industrial area and we noticed a few unhoused individuals nearby. The property is fenced & gated. You must scan your room key at the front door to enter the Hotel at night. They also have a security guard from 6pm-6am. There was a nice looking pool but we didn't get a chance to use it. The only downside was there's no food/restaurants nearby and they do charge for parking, $8.50/night, but that's not bad. They do offer snacks & beverages for purchase in the Lobby and there's always UberEats. Another Hotel is being built nextdoor, so maybe a few food places will be built in the future. We will definitely stay again. Farrah & Lorena at the front desk were awesome. The were very welcoming, friendly and answered all our questions regarding ordering an Uber, parking & breakfast hours.

DAYS INN should belong to an economic chain hotel in the United States, which is equivalent to our 7-day hotel. The reception desk is closed at night, and only a small lattice window CHECK IN is opened. The room is on the first floor, so the time is late, so I have no time to check the room and sleep.
