My stay was pleasant. My room was clean and quite basic (but I really didn't mind considering it was £14 each per night for the 2 of us). Brilliant location with a metro stop just up the street. I couldn't fault my stay here especially considering how cheap it was.

The place is new but unfortunately not much consideration has been spared; the owners are either amateurs in hospitality or are simply in the business of making a cashflow out of a building. 1. If you stay on the ground floor you will hear every coversation at the reception, some long, and in perfect clarity. You will also have to close the curtains to avoid being face to face with neighbours passing by who may also occasionally be very talkative - I had a couple who coming out to talk and smoke 20cm from my window once every hour - I'm guessing window is single-glazed? No carpets or intermediary doors to dampen the noise. Easier for cleaning... If you feel strongly about minimizing your contribution to the cleaner's work schedule the next morning I fully recommend you stay at this hotel. And then the evening comes and you water noises kick in. 2. Your single room may be large enough to accommodate even a king bed but you will be served with a single bed, just because. A second connected single bed pulls from underneath the first one; I thought such beds are intended for children's rooms when occasionally they have sleepover guests... 3. You will have a desk in your room that is 15-20cm wide, insufficient to put your laptop on - although the room is large enough to fit a desk of any size, and you will share the desk with the TV which could not for some reason be hanged on the wall (wall too thin?). You will have a cheap plastic chair that is inclined at an angle that makes it unsutable for desk work. No public space where you could work. Together with distractions from poor sound isolation this is disaster for people who have any work responsibilities. 4. No electrical outlets next to the bed. If you have more than one device a single available outlet might pose a problem. 5. Walls are paper thin (thinner than usual). With neighbours this would be hell, luckily I did not have any. 6. TV has the western news channels, not sure about East Asian. 7. The area is off Kiraly (King) street which is on the poorer side, with cheap supermarkets (Penny Market and Lidl), however overall the location within the city is good. Just a block north there is Andrassy street which is one of the grand thoroughfares of the city. The address is about midway between City Centre and the Heroes Park. 8. Staff was fine, yet software cannot help when hardware is so lacking. 9. My conclusion is that the building was never intended to be operated as a hotel but was repurposed quickly and without much thought by persons who may have operated Airbnb's (just a guess) but have no idea why people choose hotels over Airbnb's in this day and age. I was thinking how to get out within first two hours of the stay and did so the next morning. 10. For the price I should have chosen a real hotel 20-30min outside the city, not this.

Lovely hotel with large clean rooms. Nice front desk staff. Good location in a quiet area. There's a lot to like about this hotel and I would give a 5 star rating, but we had issues with our specific room that made our stay less enjoyable. The front desk staff is very good and did their best to help us but we were only staying 1 night. We booked our room to stay 1 night in Budapest, after a river cruise, to regroup before continuing on with the rest of our vacation. We specifically booked at Izabella for the in room washer/dryer. The in room w/d is a combo unit, common in Europe. I've used similar units before with no issues. The washer worked well but we could not get the dryer to work. The front desk clerk was also unable to get the dryer to work so he allowed us to use the hotel's dryer in the basement. This all took awhile - We cancelled our dinner plans and ordered take out in order to be able to do some laundry. We were only able to do 2 small loads of laundry during our stay. Note: there is a drying rack in the bathroom; however, we were leaving early the next morning so there wasn't time to hang dry. We also could not get the A/C to work so we opened the balcony doors to cool the room. While the area is quiet, we experienced the usual city noise, and unfortunately, a group of guests, woke us a little after midnight, talking loudly for about 20 minutes. I tried shutting the door but the room got too warm. The other issue we had was very strong food odor coming from an adjoining room. The smell dissipated after about 2 hours with the balcony door open. I believe the issues were specific to our room as our friends in the room next door didn't have trouble with smells or a/c. I feel sure the staff would have tried to resolve the issues if we were there longer. I'm unsure whether to recommend this hotel - It was not a satisfactory stay for us but there was a lot to like about the hotel in the right circumstances.

General observations - Basic but comfortable hotel well situated near Oktagon. Provided are small towels, hand wash, toilet roll. Hair dryer. Our double was two singles pushed together which is fairly common. Positives - room fridge to keep water cold. Air conditioning. Decent shower. Reasonable breakfast included. Staff speak English. Quiet. Clean. Negatives - no facility to make a cup of tea, just a coffee machine in reception which dispenses tiny cups of poor instant coffee. Room has bedside lamps but nowhere to plug them in. If you’re in the shower and someone uses the water elsewhere (sink, toilet) you can get scalded as the cold water is diverted from the shower. Room safe that we couldn’t operate.

As part of the VBT trip we stayed at your hotel this week. Unfortunately one of us tested positive for Covid-19 and due to the fact that we were scheduled to fly back to the US, we needed to extend our stay and quarantine. Mark, at the front desk, provided outstanding service. He helped make arrangement for our extended stay and helped us contact the travel services included with our VBT trip. He made sure we had food though room service and personally delivered menus and food. Mark made a bad situation much better and we are very grateful for his help. Jim Slavin

Staff are polite and professional, our room and the hotel were clean, breakfast were good selections of foods and drinks and dinner at the restaurant were excellent. They don’t have kid’s menu so they provided pasta based on my child’s request. My child really enjoyed eating them.I definitely recommend UP hotel Budapest and would like to go back one day.

A solid performance from a good 'all round' experience. The hotel hasa great location overlooking the Danube. Well placed for nice walks, boat trips and restaurants alike. The hotel serves a thoroughly decent buffet breakfast in pleasant surroundings. The lobby and bar areas are very slick, contemporary styled and show a high degree of imagination. There is a physio /medical facility too. Seems to be very popular - offering a range of treatments. The spa pools are decent and the gym well equipped and a nice atmosphere. Great hotel, excellent stay and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again.

Check in at 12:00 on the same day, the hotel counter staff took the initiative to say that the room has been cleaned, and they can let us check in in advance, which is great! Although there are only four stars, the location in the city center is great. It is only a 5-minute walk from the New York Cafe. There is a shopping center next door, which is very convenient. Ask the hotel service staff about the taxi service, and take the initiative to remind us that the price of calling a taxi through the hotel is reasonable. Hotel is located 1-2 minutes from the market hall, and right next to the pedestrian zone, and maybe 1-2 minutes to the river abd bridge. So the location is very good. An airport shuttle bus station is about 10 minutes walking distance, very convenient. The hotel was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and big enough for a single traveler. The breakfast buffet was decent and everything looked and tasted fresh and good. In total, I really enjoyed my stay there and would come back anytime.

We loved this hotel. We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we had booked for longer. The hotel is set back in a square and not immediately visible from the road but no difficulty in finding it. We stayed in room 701. The beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious. No noise from outside or inside the hotel was heard which enabled a great sleep. We had a coffee machine in our room but it had no instructions and we had no idea how to use it but there is a coffee machine at reception available all the time which supplies delicious coffee. The buffet breakfast was more than we could ask for with fabulous scrambled eggs! We had a late flight but the hotel supplies lockers for luggage free of charge so we were able to make the most of our last day. All members of staff were helpful and friendly and our housemaid was lovely. This hotel is in a lovely area for exploring and very central. We would definitely return!

Great location, right on a strip of restaurants with a shopping mall less that 30 seconds walk. The apartments are built on top of a Lidl so great for purchasing food to cook at home. There’s a great range of appliance and kitchenware, alongside a washing machine and iron. All in all it’s perfect and very well presented. Only thing that let them down was the cleanliness, we found hair everywhere (even round the sink and in the bath) balcony was dirty and so were the table and chairs. If it was properly cleaned I would have said 5*

We had a reasonably sized 1 bed appt. From other reviews I was worried about noise and bad behaviour of groups of tourists but this is a block of 90 apartments and only 24 are tourist rentals. Others include a number of people with the title ”Dr” so they are not riffraff, if you know what I mean. Our stay so far has been very quiet. Almost no noise from inside the block. It's the centre of a city so there is road noise etc but the windows are triple glazed so keep the noise out very well. Lift and corridors are all v bright and well cleaned. The area is touristy to some extent with loads of good value eating places including a very popular Hungarian restaurant where you need to book called Getto Gulyas. The area as a whole used to be the Jewish ghetto so the huge synagogue is close by but that meant that the are as a whole is quite run down in appearance. I think that makes it a much more interesting feel than some of the more renovated areas. This apartment block is new enough that it's not shown on Google satellite. Apartment was very clean and well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. Everything you need for cooking on holiday. Furnished exclusively from Ikea by the looks of it but it felt new and not worn out. Bed is comfortable and on the firm side. So far the is absolutely nothing of any significance wrong with the apartment. Maybe we have been lucky by not being near a stag party. But we've only seen one about town in our stay so far. From our experience we would recommend.

We loved our 5 night stay here, we opted for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were amazed at how big, clean and well equipped the apartment was (there were even a couple of laundry pods to do washing if you wished). The staff at reception were really welcoming and happy to help giving great advice. Location is fantastic as close to all the main sights with the metro, tram and bus stops at the top of the road. Close to some brilliant restaurants like Mozel Tof, Ghetto Goulash and Pork and Prezli (make sure you book) Really handy that the direct airport bus stop is just a 5 minute walk too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if coming to Budapest.

Ramada by Wyndham Budapest City Center

We chose this hotel as it has just been opened and it still has this feeling of freshness. This comes with some drawbacks as well but let's focus on the advantages first. One of the most important one is naturally the location. It is just next to the main tourist places and you can visit all the main sites on foot. The room we got was decent in size; it overlooked the tiny yard which meant that it was - mostly - quiet. Apart from the air-con units which turned on and off at night both inside our room but also the generators outside. You could hear them when you opened the window. Breakfast is next door in the Mercure- albeit really good- it cannot be reviewed as Ramada breakfast. We found two things really frustrating which will prevent us from staying there again. The first one is the parking space. The hotel has no own parking lot and all they offer is looking for a place in the street. This is no good because in this area not only it is payable but also limited to 3 hours per day. Another option is a public parking lot a few hundred meters from the hotel. Not very convenient if you have luggage. The last one is the parking next door at the Mercure for ca 25 EUR per night. The receptionist at Ramada told us not to bother asking as it is usually full. Still we did ask and we conveniently parked there. The staff at Ramada are young and rather inexperienced compared to the Mercure. Finally, the glass door to the bathroom... OK with some pattern on it but still rather inconvenient when you share a room with someone. Also the elevator broke down one evening and was not functioning until noon next day and the hotel has 6 floors... All in all a decent place with no frills.

The location is good, just next to a metro stop. The hotel is located in the centre of the city. The reception treatment: the worst one I've been in different. I arrived at 13.56 and even at 14.01 did not answer me since checking was at 14.00, but the worst thing is not that indifference to the client if not the antipathy in explaining the rules... it is amazing still having read it before in others reviews users. The room that I was given was given to work at the hall of an indoor patio and had no intimacy because the inside of the room was seen from outside; I went to reception for if they could change my room and they did not listen to me directly It was all complete...which was not real since I asked the cleaning staff confirmed it to me.

ROOMbach Hotel Budapest Center Budapest, Rumbach Sebestyén u. 14, 1075 Hotel Alan Shackel 132 points   4 hours ago We found this hotel to be a great 3* hotel. The location is perfect (2 mins walk from Deak Ferenc terminal where the 100E airport bus terminates and central to all of the major sights. Staff at the hotel are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and when we had what was a minor fuse box problem in our room, it was resolved within 5mins and with no complaint or prompting from us, a bottle of bubbly was nonetheless delivered to our room as an apology for the inconvenience. What a great touch. Standard rooms are very small, but if you upgrade to a Superior Room, they are modern, spacious & comfortable with a large bed, a spacious lounge area and a nice bathroom. Breakfast is very good too. One criticism I have is the lack of in-room tea/coffee making facilities, which seems strange given rooms do have a fridge. However, reception arranged for a kettle in our room, so problem solved! Another criticism is the position of the TV, which is fine if you're watching on the sofa, but difficult to see from the bed. One final criticism is no drawer space at all.b Bedside cabinets have no drawers and clothes storage is open plan. However, there is free security safe for valuables. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend The Roombach and we would definitely stay here again.

The hardware of the hotel is good, the price/performance ratio is good, and the location is a little bit off, but if you have a traffic ticket, the traffic at the door is still very convenient. The only disgusting thing is the service of the hotel. The door card is inexplicably swiped repeatedly, and you have to go upstairs every day Swipe the door card repeatedly, sometimes the door still can't be opened. When we checked out, we were inexplicably charged for the phone bill, which cost dozens of dollars. It was strange to ask why, saying that we answered a call from a local friend. At that time, I was confused. Do I have to charge for answering the phone? The hotel manager explained that only room-to-room calls are free. After staying in the hotel for so many years, this is the first time I have encountered such a strange thing.

I think it is hard to find a place at this price point in Budapest where you don’t need to share a bathroom that checks all the important marks - it was clean, quiet, had helpful staff, and is in a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Plus it’s cool to say you slept on the Danube river. The only negative was that it is a little outside the tourist areas and is about a half mile from a public transportation station that goes to the main part of town. So adds a little bit of extra walking to your already tired legs. Still though - very happy with this choice.

Wombat's City Hostel Budapest

The airport shuttle bus 100E drops only a few minutes walk away from the hostel. (30mins travel) Very useful. There is a socket and reading light next to each bed and I had a change of bedding on my second day. I feel that this is due to there being no bed bookings and you choose your own, so they don't know which bed is still in use. There's a danger you may lose your bed if you don't leave things on it. There was a shared bathroom with a toilet in it and a locker provided in the room too. I brought my own towel as this was not provided. There is shower gel provided in the shower. A really central hostel, though they're is a hub of bars directly opposite, so they're is a lot of noise until very late which means I had disrupted sleep both nights. Plenty of takeaway places close for quick bites to eat and lots of café spots close too. This hostel is also very close to get to the main sights and starts of walking tours also if you'd be doing this too.

The location of the hotel is very good, and the surrounding scenic spots are within walking distance. However, walking from the subway station to the hotel are steps, and it will be inconvenient to bring luggage. The decoration style is very design sense, and the staff is very bice.

The Hive Party Hostel Budapest

One flaw that was able to ruin my stay in Budapest: IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. I understand it's a hostel, I understand it's a ”party hostel”. I did not expect a deathly silence, but blaring music cannot be tolerated! The unbearable bass. Not even the caps could save me. There is no roof between the floor with the rooms and the floor with the bar / nightclub. The first night they disconnected at 6.30 am, the second night at 3.00 am, the third night at 4.00 am.
