|1.7km from city centerBijou little hotel on outskirts of Amsterdam, which is easily reached by public transport. We understood our budget, and set our expectations accordingly, but we are extremely pleased by the welcome from all the staff were have met here. Although not lavish, the facilities are impeccably clean, and our room (”Carel Appel”) is compact but nicely laid out. The ”Continental breakfast” is probably what one would expect, but the staff are charming and attentive - their service is much appreciated. A special mention must be made of the evening meals prepared in the restaurant by ”Roy” (Leroy); we have feasted on the peanut chicken and house-prepared burger with No. 19 dressings, which were very appetising. And this evening, we have delighted in his ”slow-braised calf”, with braised vegetables and ”long-and-low baked jacket potatoes”. No-one would consider us restaurant critics, but we know what we like - and we LOVED this! Thank you very much Roy. So if you are anywhere nearby between 6.30pm and 9.00pm, pop in for a quick drink before sampling what main courses this Chef can offer. We hope you will enjoy your meals as much as we did.

|0.63km from city centerThe hotel is close to public transport (10 minute walk) and the staff are quite friendly. They had a nice little store so you could buy a beer or bag of chips late at night. The only thing that stops me from putting 5 stars…no usb outlets. I totally get that the outlets for power are not universal, but everybody has a phone, and a USB port by the bed is needed for people that don’t have a wall adapter. Add that and this place would get 5 stars.

|4.26km from city centerSo it was our first time in Amsterdam and only having recommendations for restaurants meant that we were unsure what/where to stay… so we let price ish be our guide. We opted for the Best Western in Amstelveen and the fact that it was a global hotel chain you can really go wrong… We had booked a package holiday minus the transfer from Airport to hotel. So from the airport we purchased 2x 3 day tourist travel cards and caught the next train to Amsterdam central station. Then we turned on Apple Maps and input the hotel address and set it to public transport. Tram 24, tram 5 then tram 25 heading towards Sacharovlaan station. From the station the hotel is situated next to a Volvo garage and other businesses and is about a 5 to 10 minute walk. The room was huge, the bed was bigger than our king size. There’s plenty of power points, a TV (which we couldn’t get working..?) air conditioning and heated floors in the bathroom. A Nespresso machine and pods were in the room and a hair dryer (that seemed to overheat and shutdown frequently). We booked B&B and it’s served until 10:30. It’s not the best variety for breakfast, obviously catering for a continental style. Personal preferences I would have liked the sausages to be less anaemic. Our room was on the 3rd floor and quite quiet as it was the opposite side to the businesses. They do take a €150 pre approved deposit on a credit card that they will take if there’s any issues with the room after you have checked out. Yes the hotel is approximately a 40 minute tram ride to the city centre but we didn’t mind travelling each time. One last thing to note is, you don’t have to go to Centraal Station from the airport to get to the hotel. Instead from the airport train station look for trains to Zuid, then catch the tram 25 to Sacharovlaan. Our 3 day tourist public transport pass ran out before our departure so we brought a 1 hour travel pass as hotel to Zuid to airport is about 40 minutes buuuuut that ticket wouldn’t allow us to enter the train station, so we had to buy some one way tickets from Zuid to airport. That worked 😃

|4.25km from city centerHotel location is good, the room is large, there is a balcony, standing on the balcony, you can see the beautiful scenery across the road. The picture of the Dutch tulips placed on the bedside is very beautiful, the breakfast is good, the restaurant is beautiful, the hotel is moderately priced, and the price is high. . The service staff was warm and thoughtful. When I asked about the Ajax home route, I was very enthusiastic to give us directions. I didn’t travel far to the stadium by taxi. I took a two-hour trip when I was on a business trip. The long-awaited stadium is really worth it!

|1.59km from city centerWould rate it lower if I could. The room was terrible. It was small and there was next to one space to store clothes, and while this didn't bother me for my 2 night stay, it would be really inappropriate for any longer stay. Toilet and shower are shared with many other rooms and are poorly kept. Cracked tiles, random empty bottles of shampoo and condition etc just left in a pile on the floor. There is a sink in the room, but our tap was cracked and sprayed water out the side when you turned it on. There is also a lot of noise outside, as late as even 11pm and with our window broken, we couldn't close it properly to help shut out some of the noise. Food in the bar below is good but VERY expensive for what you get. We also paid for breakfast included and it was nice to help yourself to bread, a toaster, some crackers, deli meat and cheese but... it was just stuff that they bought from the Lidl literally right across the road, about 20 metres away. Not worth how much they were charging for it. They also double charged us and are refusing to give a refund. We spoke to staff at the time and they all seemed friendly and happy to help but couldn't do anything. It was all ”Oh, I'll text the person who is doing the breakfast tomorrow”. She didn't. And when we explained it to the person on breakfast her only suggestion was also to text a co-worker. They took our details and said they'd email us about it. They didn't. We had to chase them up with multiple emails which they all ignored, so we emailed the company through whom we booked the stay. They contacted Abina who claimed that they'd already sent the refund through. They hadn't, which we have proven with bank statements. They still haven't. As of writing this it's been 6 weeks since our stay. No refund and extremely poor communication from Abina through and through. Absolute worst hotel experience to date. Don't stay here.

|0.59km from city centerThis was our first stay at this location, but it certainly won't be our last. We had a bit of a panic during the day about arrival times as trains were horribly delayed, however the reception team were kind and reassuring throughout. The hotel is located next to a tram stop (take Metro to Zuid and then tram 5 to Kronenburg) for easy access to the city centre and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast, and there is no bar or restaurant at this hotel, however a range of drinks and snacks are available at reception and it is possible to order in food. Reception staff were also most helpful with printing off our travel documents for the next day.

|1.13km from city centerWe chose to stay at this hotel because it was walking distance to the family that we were visiting. That’s the last good thing I can say about the Amsterdam Forest Hotel. I booked a deluxe twin room. The room that we were given was nothing like the room shown in photos of the hotel’s website. It was tiny, hardly big enough for 2 people. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel. No mirror in the room. One very small window overlooking the parking lot. No TV remote in the room. The phone in the room that you would use to contact reception wasn’t working. They charge for parking. They charge for breakfast. The halls are dark, almost scary. The halls are so narrow that if you encounter the housekeeping cart, you’ll have to scoot sidewise to get past it. The mattresses were about 2 inches thick, on top of a bigger mattress. On the plus side, they did 2 loads of laundry for us for a bargain price of 7.50 euros.

|1.36km from city centerI couldn't rate this hotel any higher. It's on the outskirts of town so lovely and quiet, the rooms are a good size and we didn't hear a peep from anybody else while we were in our room. We were allowed to drop off luggage early which was handy and then we came back about an hour early but were told our room was available so we could check in slightly earlier than the 3pm advised time. Check in was easy, and our room was on the 5th floor with the lifts just near reception. The room had a small kitchen which included a dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker, hob. Bathroom was a decent size and a nice walk in shower. We didn't eat here but we did come back for drinks before calling it a night on the Saturday and the bar was reasonably priced (it was cheaper compared to the city centre) and the staff on shift were extremely friendly. The hotel were happy to call us a taxi when we first arrived as we didn't know how far things would be, but we then stuck to Uber after that as it was a lot cheaper than the local taxi companies (same as the UK then!). Check out was equally as easy and again staff were pleasant and friendly. We will visit Amsterdam again next year, and we'll be more than happy to stay here again.

|1km from city centerThe service apartments is situated at Amstelveen district which is at the south of Amsterdam. You may reach from the airport or the city center easily with the public transport. The check in and out speed is efficient and the staff are friendly to help you with all matters. The rooms are big, clean, well equipped with all the things you need for a short and long stay with the family. Free Wi-Fi increases your satisfaction. You either cook in the room or use the facility in the hotel. The menu meets the needs. There is a small supermarket in the hotel for your urgent needs. The rooms are cleaned weekly and towels & garbage could be collected upon request daily. As the hotel is close to the shopping mall, you can make all your shopping easily. I suggest for all occasions.
