|0.36km from city centerMy partner and I stayed at Hawkstone on a Golfing break away (2 rounds of golf and a 1 night stay). We arrived to find that the booking company had requested a twin room for us but Cheryl was extremely helpful and changed our accommodation for us to a King Size Room. She was also very helpful in giving us some information about local facilities etc... The room itself was very comfortable and everything we needed was at hand. The bed was extremely comfortable and I would have been very happy to take it home haha. The food was amazing and all of the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The two golf courses were well-maintained and we both enjoyed playing here. Would we stay here again? Yes absolutely, though next time we will be booking direct rather than through a booking company.

|0.49km from city centerNot stayed in the rooms but been in many a time for a drink. Nicely situated close to the town, railway and bus stations with a pleasant pavement area at the front Our experience is that the staff are always excellent with a smile and efficiency that is often missing in some places. Food is good too Nice place to spend some time

|3.23km from city centerFirst you generally know what you are going to get from the HI Express brand and this is a prime example - clean, efficient staff, good sized rooms for a traveller, well positioned near major road, good breakfast and a good shower. This fulfilled all of those admirably. Plus it has a bar so you can relax rather than look for elsewhere if you desire a pint. Would stay again.

Shrewsbury
|0.2km from city centerThe hotel is right in the very center of the town and the location is very good. The breakfast is very rich, you can order the main dish yourself, we have a very clean breakfast. Hotel service is also very good, we asked about the bus time nearby, the hotel front desk sold to the computer to print a schedule to us. The only downside is that the hotel house is very old and the rooms are generally small.

|1.22km from city centerMy wife and I recently traveled to Shrewsbury (from Chicago) as part of a group tour. We booked our 2 nights there at Anton Guest House. We found our accommodations to be very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Anton Guest House is located in a quiet neighborhood, an easy walk into town. We also felt that our stay at Anton Guest House was a great value. The owner, Louise, could not have been more gracious, friendly or personable. She made us feel right at home from the very start. I love breakfast time; the delicious food that Louise made for us was a great way to start the day. With a nice variety of breakfast choices on offer, each morning can be a new treat. I highly recommend Anton Guest House to anyone staying in Shrewsbury. We will definitely book there again when we return. Thank you Louise!

|1.93km from city centerWhat a lovely hotel. Very quite, outside of the main town, with lovely views of the hills and countryside. Clean and tidy, with plenty of hand sanitiser at both entrances and at the desk. Very friendly lady on reception… I think her name was Sarah. My first venture out in a very long time to visit friends in Shrewsbury, and I have to say I will definitely stay here again. My room was spotless, and lovely and warm. Had breakfast in the restaurant next door and it was excellent… I met the Manager Heather who is from my neck of the woods, and she was brilliant. Very friendly and welcoming. My friends recommended me to stay here and I’m glad I did.

|0.6km from city centerThe hotel is in a perfect location right opposite the train station and very close to the town centre The hotel was very quiet because the bar area is not open at the moment, check in was easy the room was clean and adequate for me the bed was very comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the ensuite bathroom was large and well equipped with shower, basin and toilet, the manager that checked me in said if I need anything replenishing to call at their other pub just up the road from the hotel, overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel it was value for money.

Shrewsbury
|0.41km from city centerAbsolutely shambolic: Booked premier plus room for 2 nights: air con didn’t work so first night was literally the worst nights sleep. So hot I needed to use my inhaler! No maintenance so had to move to a normal room (no premier plus rooms available) for the second night, Couldn’t gain access through the back so had to walk all the way around after we’d been out - no one answered the buzzer….. Breakfast on day 1 was disgusting. No staff, bacon was dramatically undercooked and off. Bananas were bad. Second room - curtains hanging off the rail and no net curtains Hugely understaffed, I actually felt sorry for them, far too much which meant that the lady on breakfast on the first morning just couldn’t manage. Complaint lodged with Premier Inn but avoid st all costs!!

|0.39km from city centerA really well designed space and great value. It's also well located - a bakery, several pubs, cafes and restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away. It's next door to a lively pub, but the noise was very contained and didn't affect our sleep. Great shower too. We were walking the Shropshire Way - this was a perfect overnight stopover.

|0.19km from city centerThe Bull in Butcher Row is an iconic piece of Shrewsbury history. It is an old traditional inn. The rooms are small and clean.
The staff are exceptional. I would give a hearty recommendation , in particular to, Aggie, Mia and Joe, who showed me the greatest of respect.
Apart from a minor hiccough with the heating, which was resolved, my stay was a wonderful experience. Should I return to Shrewsbury I will certainly stay at the Bull in Butcher Row.

|0.58km from city center2 night stay with friends while touring Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. Private grounds, off road parking covered by CCTV and a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Rooms were en suite, clean and warm. Breakfast was included in the room rate, was of good quality and plentiful. Hotel has bar and light bites menu or there are restaurants and pubs a short 5 minute walk away. Family run hotel with a small, long serving, team and it shows. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to my next stay.

|2.67km from city centerThis is my second stay at the Mercure Albrighton Hall. I really enjoyed my stay, Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. I'm slightly disappointed in comparison to my last stay though, last time we were in a privilege room which was gorgeous and unique. We had booked the privilege room as a birthday celebration, so wanted something extra special, however this time the privilege room was nothing special, just a slightly larger than average run of the mill hotel room. There was nothing wrong with the room itself, just not as nice as our previous stay. If I was to stay again, I wouldn't bother with the room upgrade - I'd just stick to a standard room. The only flaw I can point out is the door to the lakeside rooms. The security door that's opposite the lake was open the entire time we were there. The door did not lock when it closed over, which was a security concern - especially at night time. The leisure facilities are great, the pool is a touch cold but this isn't anything major. The sauna/steam room selection is brilliant and there's plenty of room. There are male/female changing facilities and they have private shower and change cubicles which is a big win for me. I didn't choose to book breakfast this time as the price seemed excessive, and I'm not a big breakfast eater. Instead I went to Battlefield 1403 'sparrows cafe' which was a 5 minute drive away and was absolutely lovely! Overall it was a great stay and I will stay here again!

Shrewsbury
|0.42km from city centerSecond time we have stayed here, birthday gift Bubbles and Breakfast voucher from work. Stayed in room 20, the room under the main house, really spacious and clean. Decor, furnishings and attention to detail is lovely. Really is fine quality. The bubbles were served in an ice bucket as promised. Such a nice place, best place in Shrewsbury in my opinion. Breakfast selection quality of the food and service also spot on. Couldnt ask for any more.
