|0.93km from city centerWe would never stay here again the staff were so rude there was a lady manager the was so so rude. Also there was a constant beeping noise out side our room. And about 2am in the morning whilst we were sleeping someone from reception called the room phone and said that the smoke alarm in our room was going off due to someone smoking in the room. Both me and my partner are non smokers so it clearly wasn’t use. Worst hotel experience ever.

|0.97km from city centerWe had the pleasure of staying at this guest house and were warmly welcomed and given a first class room that was dog friendly and very spacious. We had a large king sized bed with Freeview TV and a fridge included access to a shared kitchen and bathroom, with no one in the adjoining room, we effectively had a self-contained apartment. The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet and the city centre was a brief 15 minutes walk away offering shops and restaurants etc. Breakfast was included and was a traditional Irish break fast consisting of sausage, bacon, hash brown, egg, tomato, baked beans, white & black pudding, mushrooms and toast . The breakfast lasted us all day and tea/coffee and fruit juice, fantastic breakfast. Overall our stay was exceptional and we will return again when we go to Peterborough, Kevin was a gracious host and lovely man. Parking locally was Resident Only, but you are added to the scheme to get free parking.

|0.64km from city centerArrived at the hotel at 14:57 after a 2 hour drive to be told that I could not check in until 15:00. Was told to wait outside, did this and checked in just after 15:00. Asked if I could leave a package for friends to come and pick up but was told no. Got through the reception door to go to room using the supplied key but it would not open my room door(14). Trapesed back to reception for another key. This time it worked but upon entering the room, it stank of cigarettes. When my friend turned up a few hours later after I had to wait for them, I took the parcel to reception and handed it to them. Went back to my room and key was not working again so back to reception I went again. We have stayed at this hotel many times before but this has put us off staying again. Premier inn from now on.

|1.05km from city centerNice, cozy and very comfortable hotel. We stayed in room 203 that is spacious and very well decorated. Staff very friendly, breakfast is bed was a bonus! We booked direct and got free breakfast and free upgrade. I see several negative comments about charging in advance, but I don’t see a problem here. All hotels, especially privately run, have their own terms. We were advised that we’ll be charged and we went ahead with it. We’ll definitely stay again when we visit peterborough next time.

|3.22km from city centerWe booked in here for 2 nights as attending a conference on site .We were booked in to Room 208.Reception staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout .Impressed with the air conditioning as it coped very well during such hot weather and in the conference room too Great sleep here on both nights .Breakfast was impressive with so much continental choice .Great coffee machines producing good range of tasty coffees. Two small downsides bacon so hard and overcooked particularly on Sunday morning and most pieces in the tray stuck together, Food okay in the café and Caesar salad with chicken and a burger .Flat whites were so good on the Saturday afternoon had too order more. However the next day when ordering flat whites from a different barman they were the worst my wife and I had ever tasted-need consistency .Overall though very good

|0.34km from city centerI was arranging a charity dinner and rooms for up to 90 in the Great Hall. The location is beautiful, and the hotel is clean and well presented. All of the staff I encountered throughout the booking, arrangements and the event itself were exceptional. They were always polite, professional and couldn't do enough to help. The evening went extremely well with fantastic feedback on the hotel, the food and also the staff from all who attended. If you're looking for a location to arrange an event, look no further.

|1.83km from city centerI stayed at the Dragonfly as I was attending a two day work related course in Peterborough. On check in I was asked to leave a £1 refundable deposit on my card - this seemed a little odd as I’d already paid for my room but I agreed. I have not had this deposit refunded - in fact it was taken out of my account five days after I left the hotel. Nothing was broken on my stay. Upon arrival to my room, I noted the faint stagnant smell of old cigarette smoke . I used the bathroom and the hot tap swivelled which I found odd. I was able to use the tap by pressing down hard. I went back to reception to address these issues. The lady advised me they would look into it and get back to me. They didn’t. I found the room I was in (109) was an odd shaped room. The television faced sideways to the bed so made watching television and relaxing in the evening not possible. The double bed I had was in fact two singles pushed together and not of the same height. This made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. During the night, the room became immensely hot which woke me up. I couldn’t see why as the electric storage heater wasn’t on. The corridor outside was also hot. In the morning, I found the shower door to be stiff and would not close properly. Upon going to dry my hair, there was no plug situated anywhere near the mirror. Being someone with very curly hair who needs to see how they are drying their hair, this was impossible and I had to use the camera on my phone as a mirror. Unfortunately I suffer with food allergies. I spoke to the waiting on lady at breakfast who advised cornflakes were available for myself. Not what I expect having paid £10 for the breakfast. She appeared very put out when I asked her to check with the chef about items on the hot menu. She came back with ‘ the chef doesn’t really know but here is a photo of the hash brown packet’ . I was able to eat either cornflakes or scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. Not really acceptable for what I paid. I have contacted the hotel but haven’t heard anything back. It’s a shame this hotel is so outdated- not just in the rooms themselves but with education of allergies for staff and also in their lack of trust for customers when they already have their card details from room paying . It may only be £1 deposit, but every time they don’t refund £1 deposit to 100 people, thats £100 in their pockets for free. This is such a shame as the hotel itself is in a lovely setting.

|0.83km from city centerGood hotel quite well placed from the A1 . Good room with all you need for an overnight stop. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, no bacon, but it is an express Hotel so there will be limitations on what's offered. Negative - many of the breakfast tables were not cleaned ready for incoming guests and they were not busy.

|6.8km from city centerStopped here after a delayed flight from Stansted rather than drive home late. Reception smelt a bit funny but we were not expecting too much, we were pleasantly surprised however in the room, lovely and spacious room, comfortable beds, very good powerful hot shower and other usual facilities you’d expect in a room. We had a lovely relaxing evening before a long drive home the next day, it was very welcomed.

|0.57km from city centerWe stayed here for two nights. Lovely hotel with parking in the centre of Peterborough. Couldn’t get our cases up the stairs as no lift, but Kirsty on reception put us on the ground floor, thank you. Ate in the hotel one night, food was good but the service was very slow. Breakfast on both days was very busy but the staff coped very well. There were a few problems, eg a couple forgetting their room number, Losing of car park tickets etc, all quickly sorted without fuss by Kirsty. All hotels should have a Kirsty 😀 Would stay there again next time if we visit Peterborough.

|0.8km from city centerFirstly, I like this old hotel, it has some real character, the rooms are large and stylish but... A) the parking is now extra, and the advert should say so. B) the staff are clearly inexperienced - helpful yes - but you really shouldn't greet staff as 'mate' or bud,' it's just the wrong 2star tone. C) if the kitchen staff don't turn up to cook breakfast, yes a refund is great but 'sorry for the inconvenience,' is better. It shows you, as a member of staff are invested in the hotel. When there were issues with my rooms TV my room was instantly replaced to an equally stylish room, no issues with that kind of service. I don't blame the young staff, it's about leadership. I saw a review where someone complains about rats and beggers. City facts you're never far from a rat or poverty, you can't realistically blame a hotel that there's a rat in their car park or begging in front of their property, one is environmental and the other economical, and a police matter. (I've stayed in this hotel three times, it's always the same individual, and it's the same story every time, no one can lose their ticket that often) This is a 3 star hotel with memories of 4 stars, staff are helpful, friendly but inexperienced, lacking confidence and pride in their profession, leadership is needed and this could be easily turned around. But despite these issues I'd still rather stay here than a characterless travel lodge.
