I wanted to post an early review after staying just over 24 hours at this hotel. Suites are great, front desk is wonderful, bar and restaurant staff is very helpful. Parking is a bear, as you have to park at a location behind the hotel and then find your way. As seems to be typical in hotels, ice machines are not working. My big plus is their towels are the softest of any hotel I have been in in 6 months, but bring your own toilet paper and kleenex tissues. If you like sandpaper, this is the best.....so why, in a cold environment, do we have to wipe with sandpaper and blow our cold runny noses with sandpaper. Horrible! One other suggestion....some paper products in the kitchenette area might be nice. Trip to Wal-Mart is necessary for the extras. 0

The overall quality of the stay was average as there was more than a few issues that we came across throughout our stay. The first thing we noticed in the room was that over the window there was a foot and half in length tear across the wallpaper that was hanging down. Another issue that occurred was the demagnetizing of the hotel room key card. We had just finished swimming (also disappointing to see the jacuzzi out of order) and entering the elevator to go to our room to dry off, our keycard was rejected and we sent down to the lobby, quite cold, and had to wait in line to get our key card magnetized. A third issue also was brought up. We had been coming in from out of town and had ate out prior to checking in, saving some leftovers. Upon arrival to the hotel room, we found no method in which we could reheat our meal which was another inconvenience. These issues contributed to my feelings of a mediocre stay at the Fairmont, which was not what I had expected. Some pluses however, were a strong internet connection, a quiet stay, great bathroom amenities and decent television selection as well as a polite staff.

Hotel Fort Garry is marketed and priced like an upscale hotel but in reality it is not. There is no room service available due to staff shortages (according to the hotel). The Air Conditioning is also shut off until June 1. Given the rooms are completely sealed like a hospital which makes it extremely uncomfortable and stale, I found the conditions intolerable. After 1 night I had enough and asked to check out. On a positive note, the food at the restaurant was well made and the staff was all professional. The manager also compensated me for my inconvenience with extra choice rewards points. I was not charged for the unused portion of my reservation. The beds here are comfortable. If they can build on the positives, this could be a great hotel. Unfortunately I cannot take the risk of returning here until these basic points are addressed as my money and time are too valuable to deal with these conditions when I am on the road!

After 5+ years, Mel and her team are always welcoming and accommodating to our needs as guests at Days Inn Winnipeg Airport. We usually stay in either a queen or king suite because we enjoy the additional privacy and soundproofing of a separate bedroom. The pricing is mid-range and affordable, and I've felt that we've gotten more than we pay for. This hotel is also one of the very few who still keep and maintain wired Ethernet ports in each room, because Wi-Fi is generally too slow for my work requirements. I wish more hotels would recognize that wireless Internet is less secure and slower than wired Internet, but their foolish loss is Days Inn's gain. Although some of the staff have changed over the years, Mel is as much an irreplaceable fixture of Days Inn, and every time we return to the hotel, it's like coming home to an old friend. That said, we do like making new friends, because new staff like Victoria are a welcome addition. The proximity of the hotel to the airport, my client's office, and the Polo Park area makes it easy and quick to get around for work, travel, food, and entertainment. Throughout the pandemic, Skip the Dishes and DoorDash have almost always delivered directly to our door, and I've even had parcels mailed to reception for safekeeping and final delivery. The facilities are always kept clean and housekeeping services have been respectful of COVID-19 safety requirements even after the Manitoba government relaxed restrictions, which I appreciate. As a fellow business owner, I notice many of the little touches Days Inn does to redefine hospitality. For example, there is a rule that when a guest uses a luggage cart to transport items to the room, they are supposed to return it to the lobby. But I've seen staff bring back abandoned carts in the hallway without a single complaint many times. That said, I do not appreciate other guests who don't realize there are human beings running this hotel. Rude, arrogant, and highly demanding people have no place at this fine establishment. If you take the time to get to know the people behind this hotel, you'll realize they are amazing people who are working hard. I would never want to own or run a hotel, but the people here are doing such a great job and I left this review to show my appreciation to them and show others why they should - or shouldn't - stay here. Whenever I'm visiting Winnipeg for work or leisure, I'm proud to call Days Inn my home away from home! I hope you will too.

We stayed two nights - myself and two teenage boys for a sporting event in the city. The room was clean with exception of the coffee maker - water and an old coffee pod left in it as well as a strange bug crawling across the take out menu we were given at the front desk. The bathroom had only two towels for showering and the shower curtain was nowhere near sufficient for preventing a minor flood on the floor. The closet door was partially off it’s track so we just didn’t use it after opening it the first time. We had a “lobby view” and OH MY WORD the dust on the artificial ivy plants window ledges was insane. We actually stood in a row and stared at it while having a Mother/Sons debate about whether it was dust or if the ledges were felt lined. The dust on the ivy plants tipped the scales away from felt. Everyone was very friendly staff-wise although we did have limited contact The food from the morning Aalto’s breakfast was a bit overcooked and my boys said the scrambled eggs tasted weird but the Tavern evening food was fine. Service was quick - it was ready for pickup when promised.

We normally chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg-Airport West when we have a short stay in Winnipeg. We find the location convenient to many restaurants, the highway & a 10 minute drive to the airport. Driving in from Calgary, we had hoped to take advantage of the underground parking but with the hotel being so old, the height to enter is only 6'2", so our Nissan Xterra SUV wouldn't fit. Also note that no trucks or vans are allowed either. The hotel is older but has had some renovations over the years. Because of Covid-19, housekeeping does not enter your room during your stay. We had an east facing room on the 7th floor & it was quiet during our 3 nights there. It was nice to have the mini fridge to store our cooler items. Our room was comfortable & clean, although the air conditioning was a bit loud. There is a pool & hot tub but we have never used it & not sure if it was even open during this time. The lounge was closed but you could bring your own food in & sit at the tables to eat. The main restaurant opened for breakfast on the Saturday we left but we just picked up a Tim Hortons as we headed out of town. Reasonably priced, we will likely continue to stay at the Holiday Inn Airport West.

Overall very nice place place to stay and close to the St Boniface for hospital visits. Rooms are clean and fairly modern but beware the walls are very thing so you here the neighbors very easily. Disappointed that there wasn't a microwave and limited available electrical outlets. Shower in the morning was cold and took a while to "warm" up for a average shower. The Wood Tavern had great live music, food options and a great overall atmosphere. Overall the stay was ok and I will be back again when I need to come for hospital appointments.

Breakfast was exceptional served by a wonderful Victoria 😊. She was so kind and worked hard to get the food out by 5:30 am. Hot breakfast with top end bagels, fruit and more. We like to leave early so this was perfect and it got us on our way. A group of our family and friends stayed n a block of rooms at the hotel for several days in mid-December, 2021. The rooms were clean and everyone commented on how very comfortable the beds were. The hotel was very accommodating and were quick to address any concerns. The kids particularly loved the pool, hot tub and water slide. The adjacent tavern was perfect for everyone to gather to eat and visit as well as for drinks. We couldn't have wished for a better facility! Great location that was easily accessed and with more than ample parking. All of us enjoyed our stay, would do so again and highly recommend the hotel!

I was going to give a five star rating as this hotel deserves it, however, due to housekeeping issues, I will need to rate it as a four star. My wife and I stayed four nights in a 1 king room using our Best Western points; May 26th to 29th. Upon our arrival, we found the hotel to be very nicely laid out, very chic decor, clean, and comfortable - we were very happy to have chosen the Best Western Premier Winnipeg East. We got up the following morning and went downstairs for the superb buffet breakfast, then headed out for the entire day, returning to the room at 4:00 pm; we were shocked to see how our room was so called cleaned by the cleaning staff. The bed was a total mess (very sloppily made and pillows just thrown against the headboard), kleenex box just partially put together after placing a new box of tissue and the box tab left on the counter, and the clean towels just sloppily thrown under the bathroom sink vanity (it looks like they really rushed to get our room cleaned). We spoke to the duty manager the following morning and he was very apologetic and offered a discount to the room, however, we mentioned that we used points for the room payment, and even if we paid cash for the room, we were not looking for anything other than a properly cleaned room going forward and that the staff being informed of the awful job they completed. We returned to our room later that day and it was made up very nicely (the way it should have been). We headed out for the day on our last nights stay and returned to the room at 5 pm (we were going out to a family function for 6 pm and had to freshen up before leaving); we walked into a room that was not cleaned at all. The cleaning staff were down the hall a few rooms away and they heard that I was not pleased that our room was not yet cleaned; one of the cleaning staff (40 to 50ish year old female with a long braided blonde ponytail and glasses) then rudely yelled at me stating that she had cleaned 93 check-out rooms and our room and was going to get cleaned after she finished the check-outs - very unprofessional attitude! We then headed downstairs and waited until 5:30 pm before heading back upstairs to a cleaned room; we had to rush to make our family get-together reservation. The hotel is beautiful; lots of parking spaces, awesome buffet breakfast, well appointed rooms (with the exception of the bathroom - we found it to be very tightly laid out), very clean, bright, very large and well laid out lobby, etc. Although the on site Sherwood's Lounge and Bistro has a very limited food menu, the food is extremely good - we both had the pulled pork sandwich on our first night at the hotel and it was excellent (so, so tasty). We found the waitress we had (young woman - new employee) was very slow, forgetful, and had a lot to learn about making alcohol drinks - lots of room for improvement. Covid protocols are in place, however, many customers were not wearing face masks in the omelet room despite th

The suites are great. Very spacious. Clean. Great amenities for a lengthy stay. My floor was quiet and I could not hear noises from other rooms at all. Beds are comfy. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a grab and go (Covid related I am assuming as their is quite a large dining area that is closed). As good of options as possible to take back to your room as one could expect I would say. One suggestion would be to add bread as an option as well. The one big downside to my stay was, the security presence was alarming. I figured out why after the last three nights. My room was facing the parking lot and another hotel. Throughout the night and into the morning there is constant yelling, flighting swearing and screaming from other hotel guests lingering around outside. I think the security folks are doing their best by being a presence but it’s not enough to prevent the constant disruption. I’m going to try moving “across the hall” to the other side of the hotel, assuming it will be better as i won’t be facing the hotel parking lot. Aside from this issue, the hotel is pretty darn perfect. Thus why I gave it 4 stars. Unfortunately, the constant sleep interruptions is a major issue.
