Everything at this hotel seemed nice, until I lay down on the bed in the evening, about 11.30pm. I felt something on my skin, and when I put my hand near it was gone in an instant. I didn’t pay much attention until it happened again. I realised that they moved away much too fast to be a flying insect, so it must be fleas. I spoke to the man on night duty and asked to be moved to a different room. He said that they were fully booked, so I would have to move to another hotel. He said he would call round to find a hotel for me. So I repacked and after a few minutes he rang to say he had found me a room at the Holiday Inn, and that he would call me a taxi. When I got to the Holiday Inn, the man on reception said he had been at the desk all evening and that no-one had called to arrange a room for me, and that anyway he wouldn’t have been able to agree because (a) they weren’t allowed to accept a walk in, there had to be a prior credit card booking, and (b) it was after midnight and the hotel system had moved on to the next night, Monday, so could no longer be used for a Sunday night booking. He very kindly called the man at Cathedral Gate and had a long argument with him, insisting that Cathedral Gate must accept responsibility and that he was sending me back to them. So he called me another taxi. (The journey by the taxi which the man at Cathedral Gate called took a long time and cost £28 – the journey back by the taxi called by the Holiday Inn took about half the time and cost £15 – I leave you to draw your own conclusion). I was exhausted, upset and worried as to where Cathedral Gate were going to send me next. But when I got there, lo and behold, he said he had a single room for me. Strange how that suddenly materialised in a fully booked hotel! The next day before getting myself out of there, I spoke to the couple who own the hotel – it was their son who I’d been dealing with the night before. They agreed to refund my money, but not the taxi fares, and made a number of excuses, blaming Holiday Inn and giving a ridiculous explanation of why their son hadn’t given me the single room. They said they would write asking Holiday Inn for the fares and copy me in, but I’ve received no copies and no refund.

The breakfast was plentiful, the staff was very nice, very friendly, and I was very impressed. It was raining heavily that day, and we warmly greeted us to rest in the dining area and help to look after the luggage.

When you stay at the hotel, you need to pick up the keys at another hotel, 300 meters away. No one informs me. I stood at the door of this hotel for 20 minutes and the hotel did not have any staff. It feels very bad.

Stayed with my partner for 2 nights. I have nothing but good things to say about The Hampton. We were checked in early and with great customer service. Our room was very clean and more than suitable. Buffet Breakfast is fine, maybe there could be a bit more variation with The hot food but more than ample and no complaints from us. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and located perfectly. Close enough for everything you need and quiet enough in the evening with a few bars and pubs to finish off the day. All in all a lovely stay and would not hesitate to stay again or recommend anybody that a stay here is well worth it. A very enjoyable stay in a lovely City.

A small hotel with British characteristics. The rooms are not big. The key is that the rooms in the UK are small. There are many small country-style hotels in the UK. They are small and warm. I like this style very much. The restaurant on the first floor has very good business. The rooms are very clean, the heating was given early, and the breakfast was excellent. The disadvantage of this hotel is poor soundproofing. A few steps from the door is the most beautiful garden westgate gardens written on the guide. The cathedral is also very close and the price is moderate. This is a good choice for personal travel

On a fleeting visit to Canterbury, this family run establishment's location drew my attention, reinforced by the modest tarif. Thanks to the railway service I did not arrive at the planned time, but a short phone call modified this without complication. I had a pleasant single bedroom on the first floor, which offered all the facilities I wanted. The cat on the stairs outside my door was a homely touch, but I doubt that this could be guaranteed. I slept well. Breakfast was cooked to order, and arrived swiftly.

Close to shopping mall, there is a very nice Chinese restaurant opposite. I will choose this one next time. The first floor that likes to drink is the bar.

Our stay at the hotel was amazing. Excellent check-in by Dario. He was really professional and gave us room 409 which was awesome. Housekeeping also did a really good job with room cleanliness. The rooms were perfectly clean and I felt safe sleeping there. Had breakfast in the morning which was okay, bacon was a bit dry but apart from that our stay was magnificent. Also, make sure when booking to consider parking charges as the hotel does not have on-site parking. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights and had a fab time. The lady who owns it was so lovely/kind. She checked us in quickly, was chatty and gave use some great recommendations of places to go/eat/see both in Canterbury and nearby. The room was clean and beautiful - big four poster bed with big mirrors. Some nice little touches with biscuits/tea/coffee and mints left in the room. Breakfast was really tasty and everything seemed to be good quality. We had such a lovely few nights away, would highly recommend and would likely stay there again if we went back!

As a family we recently stayed in one of the cabins at YHA Canterbury. What a fantastic place. The cabins sleep up to 5 and there is plenty of room. They are spotlessly clean and extremely well kept. The shower was a really good size. Lovely quirky accommodation that was extremely comfortable, warm and fun. Was greeted by the manager who was extremely friendly, welcoming and great knowledge of surrounding areas. She is an amazing host. Can’t recommend a visit here enough and looking forward to a return visit very soon.

On the same day, because the car was broken, I could only ask the local taxi phone by the telephone hotel. The front desk uncle patiently called me, because the accent problem has been confirmed for a long time. On the night of the hotel, the hotel uncle and other waiters are very nice. (The hotel waiters are all Indian and the guests are mostly Indian) I have stayed at 2 hotels near Canterbury, and the chain economy hotel is good. Breakfast buffet, simple and convenient. It is best to book a lot cheaper in advance, and it will be more expensive on the same day. The room was quite tight during the school season in mid-September.
