|0.51km from city centerVery happy with this hotel. Easy self check in, good location in the Old Town, very helpful manager (Cristian) who I met briefly. He also responded very promptly on WhatsApp to several questions and gave advice when I asked. Room comfortable and clean, on 2nd floor (I think all the rooms are upstairs, on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors) but there's no lift - I think help is available for carrying luggage if you ask in advance. Location is in a very busy, lively and noisy area especially at night (Friday/Saturday until around 4am!), but with the window closed the double glazing and extra soundproofing sliding screen worked very well, although I used earplugs too to get a good night's sleep, and would recommend this. Air-conditioning unit very effective and quiet. Shower good. Limited quantities of soap/shower gel/shampoo provided (sachets) but room made up daily and more available on request. A bottle of water was provided each day. Plenty of power sockets and decent amount of clothes storage. No restaurant or bar but plenty in the immediate surroundings. I stayed for 6 nights and the hotel is an excellent location for exploring Bucharest- a fascinating city. Thank you Christian for a great stay!

|1.35km from city centerAttended this hotel after booking due to lovely looking pictures. Was very disappointed on arrival. Firstly, the outside makes the hotel look awful, it’s situated above some shops and has a huge billboard attached to it. Once inside the lift is terrible and was shocked to find you had to manually close the doors. Once inside room found it to be very run down. Headboard was scratched severely and parts were broken, aircon was very outdated and looked dirty, wardrobe didn’t shut properly and a couple of other issues. The main issue though was definitely the bathroom. On *********** no pictures of bathrooms are shown and it is obviously why. They are horrible. They’re so outdated, sink was stained, toilet sloped, shower and bath were horrible with a nasty shower curtain (looked so bad I didn’t even use it). Will say the bathroom looked clean but it was so stained and old I felt dirty using it. One bonus was that sheets were clean which made the stay bearable for one night. But just be aware this hotel now looks nothing like the pictures advertised.

Rooms are spacious enough but some of them are located over a street with a night club and are very noisy all night (especially lower floors) - this has to be mentioned at check in to relevant customers. Staff is very friendly and helpful - especially at reception. Rooms cleaning needs some improvement as some negligence showed and called for our intervention. Breakfast is great, large choice and comfortable dining room including outdoor seating Fitness center is quite small and at basement - could have been located on an upper floor facing the old city - would be wonderful

Positive points: - The breakfast offers a wide variety of options suitable for different dietary needs. - The hotel is generally clean and maintained to an acceptable standard. - The location of the hotel is convenient, being well situated in relation to the city center. Negative points: - The first room had a noisy ventilation system in the bathroom, which would only stop after 10-15 minutes of turning off the lights. Additionally, the showerhead was broken, and the water pressure was barely noticeable. - The wifi provided by the hotel was often unstable or unreliable. A suggested tip was to use a personal hotspot connection from a phone for better connectivity. - There was a lack of shower gel in the provided toiletries, with mostly shampoos available, which was inconvenient for showering. The staff was helpful. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

|9.24km from city centerStopped here in a King Suite with my husband for 2 nights, visiting family and was seriously impressed. The room was bigger than most of the flats I've ever owned! Everywhwere was kept clean and we really liked the fact that there were sofas on each floor if you wanted to relax/have a drink/wait for lift. LOL, Not that we're lazy. Every member of staff we came into contact with were helpful, friendly and courteous. Don't expect a full English or American breakfast though, it's traditional fare. Everything we had was fresh and flavoursome - cold meats, salads, cheeses, etc. 10 minute walk to the metro and retail park. A fraction of the price of hotels in Bucharest and only 20 minutes on the metro into the city centre. Only 10 days to go before our next visit and cannot wait to get into the outdoor pool and top up our tans!

The food and service was excellent, the only minor faults for not giving five stars was the room was far to hot and not controlled well with the AC unit, so dread to think what it would be like in the summer months? The room service and bar shut far to early, so if you want to eat or drink later in the evening do it before coming back to the hotel. The staff were amazing, but keep hold of your plates at breakfast or they will be zoomed away!!

|1.78km from city centerMyself, my partner and my 12 year old visited Bucharest for 3 nights last week. First of all, the hotel reception was an attractive space, scrupulously clean. The staff we encountered were all excellent English speakers and gave the impression they were very helpful ( although I'll revisit this later in the review). We arrived at almost midnight and were checked in swiftly and efficiently. When we got to our room it was clean, modern and in good condition. However we immediately discovered there were only 2 single beds, two lots of bedding and 2 lots of towels when we had booked for a pair of adults and a 12 year old girl. My partner went to reception and was told ( not at the time of check in) that the hotel was very full and they didn't even have a spare fold out bed for the night, however they would remedy that the next day as they would move us to another room. We then had to ask for an additional pillow and set of towels which was swiftly delivered to the room. We decided to turn the beds sideways and push them both together and we all just shared the makeshift bed. Our safe also didn't have a key and when we asked about this the woman at reception sent us back to check if there was a key, and said she would get it sorted, but that did not happen so we had to carry all our valuables ( passports and cash) with us at all times and take our chances leaving iPad etc in the room. The beds themselves were again scrupulously clean and very comfortable. There were complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was served 7am til 10am and was a fresh and delicious continental breakfast, with something for everyone, (although some less typical options such as pasta, chocolate mousse, and mixed vegetables!) Because we were only staying 3 days and wanted to see the city we made the decision to not pursue the change of room on the morning after night one, because check out time wasn't until noon and we didn't want to have to hang around all day and waste our time in Bucharest waiting for someone else's room to be ready for us to move in to- however the staff did not contact us to ask if we wanted moving to the correct room, and seemed happy to just ' forget' that we were squeezing 3 large people into 2 single beds. On day two something happened with our toilet and it kept trickling water continously- again we went to reception and the lady said she would ask someone to come and sort it- my partner observed her speaking to the handyman on the phone, however when we returned that night the room had been cleaned but the toilet was still trickling, so my partner went back to reception and was told someone would be right up- however this didn't happen and we had to spend the entire night listening to the toilet trickle. On day 3 we were leaving, and the reception were happy to allow us to leave our suitcase behind reception until we had to leave in the evening- however this is advertised as a left luggage room, and there didn't appear to be a room, j

|0.45km from city centerMy teenage daughter and I stayed here recently for a quick getaway and were not disappointed in the least. From the moment the online reservation was made, the staff communuicated via email asking about airport trasnfers and tours as well as any other requests that we may have. Andrea, Alex and Christian all went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. From offering suggestions for things to do, restaurants to eat at or just basic conversation about the area, all of them were extremely helpful and never seemed too busy to chat. We also enjoyed seeing the resident cat, Tom, hanging about in the lobby. We had the Nautica room and found it to be both comfortable and spacious. The bed provided a good night's sleep and the room darkening shades almost worked too well. Other reviews have commented on noise from outside being too loud but we did not really have any issues. We did hear some noise from the restaurant downstairs but most of it was over by 10pm and we never did hear any nightclub noises, however we were not there over a weekend. My only criticism of the room (and this is a personal issue) was that the theme of the room allowed for a window to be placed between the bedroom area and the bathroom such that someone using the toilet could be seen by anyone in the room from certain areas. It may be fine for a couple but as we were a mother-daughter, it was a bit awkward although we did find a solution and managed. Other rooms may not have this configuration. Breakfast was simple but good. Most days had the pretty much the same offerings but there were a few items changed each day so there was some variety. They arranged a private tour for us to visit Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and Brasov with a quick stop at Cantacuzino Castle where the Netflix series Wednesday was filmed. The locations themselves were nice to visit, but what made the tour the most fun for us was our tour guide, Serban. He was extremely energetic and well versed in the history of Romania. We could have booked a group tour, but Serban made the private so fun that it was well worth the extra expense. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking to most of the touristy things to do and some excellent restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Bucharest.

|2.44km from city centerWhen I arrived at Hotel Tranzzit there was absolutely nobody manning the desk. Granted, it was around 11pm, but the website lists no set check-in time limit (just that it begins at 2pm). I waited around 45 mins for someone to show up, and the person who did arrive was not very friendly or communicative. After some back and forth I was told that they had no record of my booking — however I had just received a phone call from them the day before (no message left) so they definitely had my information. The night receptionist showed me the personal information of everyone else staying there to ask if I was staying with those guests, which seemed like a breach of privacy. He asked if I had paid yet, and I said no, but he gave me the keys and let me into the room without paying. Very strange check-in experience. Overall, the room was not bad. Unfortunately I was in the room directly beside reception and you can hear absolutely everything, so I was awoken every day by the phone ringing or people chatting. The daytime receptionists were very friendly although did not speak English, and I made sure to pay for my stay in the morning. My room had one large bed, a closet, a bathroom, a window to an outdoor seating area, and a television — although I never tried the TV as you could hear everything from the lobby and vice versa. No hot water on the first day but the second day was fine. Soap and shower gel is included in the bathroom. No fridge or kettle in the room but there is a kitchen. Breakfast is not included but one coffee per day is allowed if you ask the reception to prepare it. Wi-fi is uncharacteristically spotty for Romania and would connect and disconnect every minute or so. The great thing about this place is not only price but location. You are only around 8 mins from Gara de Nord and there is a laundromat on the way as well. Lots of Mega Image grocery stores nearby and even a nice park. Metro, etc. are all located conveniently. It's very easy to walk to the Old City and the area with the Atheneum. Overall, I didn't hate my stay here. It was a bit awkward and strange but the daytime receptionists were very sweet and feigned being impressed with my almost-non-existent Romanian, hahaha. I would stay here again for one or two nights if I was travelling by train.

However, wifi was not working on rooms in the second floor of the hotel for the entire day. Wi-Fi was fine on ground floor, and 3rd to 5h floors.

It was during the pandemic and one of the main reasons we chose Marshal Garden, is the fact that they are very strict in respecting all the legal safety requirements. It is all very clean and even the most risk adverse guests told us they felt very safe. We appreciated that the offer included all we needed, from welcome drinks to the tasty cake, outsourced to Armand confectionery. The fruit bar was a surprise, as we did not expect it to have such a lovely design, with sculpted melons. Also, it was great that it included forest fruits. They were much appreciated! Should you organize a wedding there, you must know that having 2 rooms included in the offer is a huge plus. It makes everything much more easier. Last but not least, we appreciated their flexibility in offering solutions to various requirements we had and also in solving certain administrative aspects that arised. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

I managed to flood the bathroom while taking a shower and I have no idea how as the shower panel was in place, it seems like maybe they were expecting that as their is a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor. Unfortunately I did not foresee this and ended up getting my towels and clothes which I had left on the floor soaked. I stuck to the bath after that! Breakfast also wasn't great, the food was okay, pretty standard but they clearly could not cope with the amount of guests that were staying in the hotel. It was really difficult both mornings to either find somewhere to sit or find clean plates, cups etc. The bed was comfortable and I did sleep well. The wi-fi was good. This was also the first hotel I'd stayed in with a kettle. Tea bags & coffee were provided but no milk. However there is a fridge in the room, so you could buy your own and store it there. The location of this hotel is about a 30 min walk to old town. Overall pretty standard accommodation.

Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. Helpful staff that speaks English. Easy to check in and out. There is a Japanese restaurant in the hotel but we didn’t use it. Then there is a bar and a nice patio where you can have drinks. Rooms are nice. Decorated in black and white. Clean. Beds are comfortable. Only drawback is that there is nowhere to sit except in bed or at one stool. The safe didn’t work. The AC didn’t work either but we got another room without a problem. Takes 20 min to walk to the city center. I would stay there again except it is little too far from everything.

There is la large balcony which catches the sun all day. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The addition of the Fridge was very handy. The location is excellent. 5 mins walk from old town ans shopping district. There are numerous cafes near the venue. There is also a pharmacy and Carrefour beside the hitel. Staff wete very helpful with recommendations and booking tours.

The rooms are very spacious they have like three separate rooms and they have a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. Staff was flawless hotel was very upscale. The only problem I have with this hotel is that the pool is very very small and I like to luxury ate and of huge swimming pool when I am on vacation and the pool here very small maybe only suitable for children or for someone who doesn't like to swim laps. I never took a dip in the pool and I changed hotels because I wanted a spa / swimming pool hot tub amenity for my vacation. If you were not into pools then this is the perfect place to stay. I got this room for $100 a night and that is truly a steal.

The lift is seriously problematic there’s no way you can choose if you are going up or down - you end up spending time with whoever is inside. (Cleaning staff, customers etc). They have a phone in the room that doesn’t work at all so you have to use your mobile phone to get some amenities or whatever you need. (Seriously!) Great restaurants and food. Restaurant staff super friendly both dinner and breakfast. Reception staff kind and courteous. Can you please extend the room service menu? 9.30 pm isn’t great at all. Please make sure the rooms have a good smell when you switch on the AC. Thanks !

We ordered airport pick up , the Driver nice & good , his drop us and open the lobby door for us , take the room keys in letter box for us and explain where ours lot . feel good ( around 22:00pm local times)… .. after in ours apartment, look new and tidy inside , but we can’t find any brief-notes for WiFi passwords, even found the modem , password was chance !! so thinking paid for roaming , ( Vodafone get in data ) , work only few second than died line all night till morning even walk around at city . ( choose Orange will more better). Service or Staff ? We stay four nights, none seen one . The window & balcony full of dust . By the end, if you’re self drive tourist is ok to stay here .

Breakfast was at the restaurant downstairs. I wouldn’t get this again, they have a hard time understanding you, and there are 4 choices for breakfast which you can’t adjust much with. 3 with some kind of eggs and toasted bread; that wasn’t always toasted and 1 choice with yoghurt and a croissant + pain au chocolate. I would have liked to be able to choose my breakfast more and Mitch and match. The pre made choices weren’t that nice, when eating it many days in a row. There isn’t any people in the hotel; you have to call to ask for something. The room was very nice, but the bed was a little hard to sleep on. I asked for an extra duvet, so I could fold it over and sleep on it. This made a great difference. Big tv in the room, with smart choice, so you can watch Netflix, YouTube and some other apps. Cleaning crew was nice and the room was nice every day. Nice big bathtub! I was told that not every room has this, but if you do, it’s a great experience. If you have problems with internet in a foreign country, make sure to save the phone number. You get an access code to enter the building. Overall it was a nice stay, with just a few things that could be adjusted.

Some of the issues i have were no fault of the hotel ie groups of kids outside the hotel late at night , dogs barking . Hotel also needs to remind the cleaning staff that not everyone gets up early and that shouting to each other from different parts of the hotel is not on . Wi-fi was painfully slow also . Checked in easy and staff were nice and for what we paid was better than i expected .

The bed is very comfortable.
They also serve a breakfast in the morning, where you can find a variety of buffet-format products.
The hotel staff were very good.
The hotel is not near the centre, but the bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the hotel.
Also, if you come from the airport, you have a good location.
I would repeat it again.
Very recommendable.
