|1.29km from city centerMy wife and myself are just back from having a lovely 2 week stay at this lovely hotel. It was quite with it getting towards the end of the season. We stayed from the 20th of September until the 04th of October. We had booked a Chic room and was upgraded to a Deluxe suite at no extra cost. We stayed on a B & B basis and could not fault the breakfast as there was always plenty of choice. The staff was always chatie and PAVASKEVI always had a big smile when ever you seen her. The pool area was well maintained with plenty of sunbeds and umbrella's no matter what time of day you went down. As for eating out there was ample restaurant's to choice from. Would we go back to the Koukounairia Hotel and Suites yes but a bit earlier in the season.

|9.99km from city centerMy husband and I have been coming to the Bay hotel since 2010 twice a year: May-June and September-October. Those are the best times for “pensioners” as it is not so hot. And every time we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the staff, the warm hospitality, the beautiful location, the very well kept spacious grounds, our usual room, magnificent beach and sea, the food, the swimming pool… practically everything. The hotel has become sort of our second home where we fly in excitement and anticipation of pleasure. I believe there is no need to describe all the amenities as, apart from me, lots of people already have left their written impressions and experiences of the Bay on this site. In short, we hope we will be able to enjoy this paradise for years to come and at the moment looking forward to May. Strongly recommend this hotel to all who are looking for relaxing, quiet and safe holiday among caring staff and beautiful nature.

|10.26km from city centerJust back from our 6th. visit to the VBH and everything about the hotel and the staff was wonderful (even through the pandemic!) We are retired so are able to visit out of the school holidays. Hilary runs a very happy, relaxed ship and is always ready to help e.g. contact doctor if necessary. The little bar under the trees is open again in the evenings making an after-dinner drink a must! The pool area is beautiful and well-served by the bar-staff, the pool-side toilets are particularly well-appointed with showers, baby-changing facilities and automatic lighting. Although the hotel is B&B, lovely food is always available on request from the bar and the breakfast is excellent! There are several restaurants and a couple of bars within strolling distance, as well as car-hire and bus stops into Zakynthos town. St.Nicholas's beach and water sports are just around the corner, as are Vrahos and Plaka beaches. The standard bedrooms could use a bit of updating but the views over the pine trees and the gardens make up for it. We have already booked for 2024.

It's not in the city but it is right in the centre of the island, so it serves as a perfect base for daily excursions in the mainland and the wonderful beaches of the northwest. Nice, cosy, clean hotel with very nice breakfast and friendly staff that will help you with your trips. Definately will stay again, thank you Zefyros!

|7.3km from city centerWe had completely managed our expectations due to it being end of season and having read reviews on here but goodness me there was no need! We have just had a wonderful week at the Galaxy Beach Resort. The staff were amazing, from lovely Evie and Sonia on reception, to the smiley cleaners and especially the wonderful Esmerelda in the restaurant and Daniella at the pool bar who both made a huge fuss or our little boy and looked after us beautifully. The rooms we had were perfect with the most incredible sea views, it was always brilliantly cleaned and just what we needed. The food we were also totally impressed by, ok it’s not super hot but it always tasted fresh and made well. We definitely enjoyed our special holiday in Zakynthos and wouldn’t hesitate returning to The Galaxy.

|2.65km from city centerWe booked an apartment for ten days at this hotel to celebrate my birthday and our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were doubtful after reading some of the reviews from previous visitors. So glad we didn’t take any notice of them though. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The hotel and apartment were kept spotlessly clean. The food was varied and plentiful so much so that we gave up on lunch after three days as it was too much. The restaurant staff were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them both in the buffet and the actual restaurant. The beach is as all beaches along that coast, stony and difficult to get into even with beach shoes but the pool is lovely and we had our own pool too as many others did. We had some lovely early morning walks and would go back again. Cannot recommend this hotel more unless you want a buzzing atmosphere. The only con to the holiday is that the drinks at the pool bar on the all inclusive menu were served in plastic glasses but this did not worry us as we found a bar (the old petrol station) on the main road who served cold bottled beer in iced proper glasses. The owners were so welcoming and lovely.

I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, there was no room left, I could only wait for someone to check out, but the hotel said that I could go to the restaurant for breakfast, but it was more humane. The location of the hotel is in the mountains, so you must consider renting a car when you come to live, otherwise you will feel that it is difficult to move.

|3.56km from city centerI need to say that this hotel is nothing special. I do not know why it has such a good rate on booking or tripadvisor because it is not so good. They are not prepared to any changes or they do not try to fulfill some of your desires. We were there in July. We understand that this is the top season. But when we make a reservation through mail we kindly asked them if they have an open sea view for our stay. They said that for the first night they are booked but for other days they have it for us. We asked about our open sea view couple times and they said always the same “you have side sea view” which is basically parking view…even on the day of our arrival we send them a mail about sea view and they said: “Yes you have it” but once again it was more parking view than sea view. The receptionist was friendly but we felt like we are in school and not an adult couple because they took us to our room (we are able to find it by ourselves) and she explained about everything…even that we need to put their card to the card slot to have the electricity…we know that because it is not the first thing being in the Hotel. Immediately we told that we do not like the room. It was near the car park and near the exit to this car park, during the night there was a lot of noise. Rooms are not good isolated and you hear every person who comes to Hotel by car and takes a lift to higher floors. You hear the talking and everything else. We said to the receptionist first day that we do not like to be near the exit due to the noise but she just smiled and said it should be ok, do not worry. Is that an answer? When we said the we asked for the room with open sea view she said: “You have a sea view, I do not know if we have any rooms with open sea view but i will take a look and let you know” but she did not inform us about that. The breakfast is tasty. But ok…nevertheless we just slept there and it was ok. You also need to know that you have to walk to Tsilivi for about 20-30minutes to get to the city centre because the Hotel is on the hill.

Set back from the main area just far enough to be free from any noisy traffic but near enough for a gentle three minute stroll to the shops, bars etc. As with most budget Greek hotels, basic but exceptionally clean and not a scuff or mark anywhere! A small quiet pool with bar which is shared with neighbouring hotel. What impressed me most, apart from Elena's very warm and friendly welcome everyday, was the absolute quietness of the place. I would sit on my balcony overlooking the fields and all I could hear was the occasional distant dog bark and a cock crowing. Delicious bliss in my book and as a frequent visitor to the island, I will definitely return. Thank you Elena x

- wifi is not good: no internet access from the bedroom, maybe a little from the living room early morning, would need to sit on the balcony to have a slightly better connection. Cell reception could be really bad here as well.

|1.45km from city centerA lovely little hotel set back amongst olive trees, up a steady climb on the road followed by a short, sharp hill to the hotel itself. The hotel has a nice decor to it, the swimming pool is a good size and generally has enough sunbeds to go around. The rooms are spacious, kept clean and tidy every day, and the views from the balcony with sea views are a treat that never gets boring. The staff are all friendly, accommodating, and always there if you need anything. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options, whether you prefer cereal or toast, with eggs sausages, cake etc. The only fruit on offer seemed to be peaches so no other choice in that regard. The lunch and dinner options are also good, plenty to choose from the menu and were nicely made and well priced. The walk down to the local tavernas, bars and beach is about 10-15 mins away, depending on how fast you walk, it might take a bit longer if you decide to go to the far end of the resort. There are taxis available for those who do not want to walk back, they cost anywhere from 7-10 euros and can either be hailed down on the road (if your lucky), going to a taxi rank or asking a restaurant to book one for you. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Tsilivi, it is located in a quiet spot in the Planos end of the resort, situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main *****, but close enough to get to without too much effort. Special mention to Dimitris for helping to decorate the room for a family member on their birthday, it was well received so thank you for this.

I have seen some reviews mentioning the rooms needing renovation; I felt very comfortable and please keep in mind this is an island in greece, not Manhattan. It’s a top pick for Zante town.

Beautiful clean hotel , amazing scenery , lovely pool , less than a minutes walk and you're on the beach. The staff here are a credit to the owners, from Sophia and Mava the two lovely ladies on reception , to Helena ( I've probably spelt her name wrong ) she is absolutely amazing she really engaged with our grandson William everytime she saw him. Cannot fault any staff , from the cleaning ladies , dining room ladies , poolside bar staff anybody else I've forgotten to mention, thank you all for making our holiday special. We will be back.

It is super comfortable to sit on the chair by the swimming pool every day. However, the tourism consulting services provided by the hotel are lacking: I stayed for 4 days and the weather was bad, rainy and windy, and the boats out of the hotel were suspended. The hotel only provided their own services. When asked if there were restaurants or other nearby, they didn't know/or didn't tell. I can only stay in Shadian for 4 days. Actually, it’s not the case. On the last day, there were many restaurants and travel-related sea tours, including horse ride, car tour, jet tour, etc., just 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. It was very lively.

|3.79km from city centerHaving visited other Greek islands we were underwhelmed by Zakynthos in general and Argassi in particular: just 2 roads of souvenir shops, car/quad rentals, tour operators and restaurants all offering pretty much the same menu. No beach to speak of and difficult to get in and outof the sea due to all the sea****. However the Papillon gave us exactly what we wanted - a relaxing week in the sun in a clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. We had a great room, 412 overlooking the pool which had a lounge area as well as bedroom and balcony. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated so ignore the old photos. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good though I would have liked more fresh fruit. Would be happy to stay here again if somewhere else. Restaurants we'd recommend: Charlie Chaplin, the Green Frog and Peppermint.

The room was cleaned everyday. Fresh towels every two days. Pool area clean and tidy too. The lady behind the bar from Leeds is really friendly and helpful. Always said hello to me everyday and made the effort to talk to all guests. Sorry I'm rubbish with names. Check in and out was easy. Room comes with free air con and safe. It is in a quite part so no issues with noice late at night. Has a car park too Water park is across the road which was great for the kids

As everyone, a long over due break is what our family needed, 2 weeks chilling in the sun is what everyone works hard all year round for. We booked a 3 bedroom villa with Jet2, it didn’t disappoint, it was clean, spacious fully air conditioned, own pool, what more do you need on this beautiful island. The walk down to Tsilivli is about 10-15 mins downhill, which isn’t to bad to be fair, lots of amazing restaurants and bar’s to enjoy the night. We always walked back up the hill, if you have issues walking I would advise a taxi, plenty available. I honestly think is just what we all needed after been stuck at home for 2 years. Thank you so much to the team at St John’s villa’s. Keep up the hard work, it’s very much appreciated. See you soon

On the way to pick up the car from the car rental agency, the uncle of the car rental agency asked us where we live. After we talked about it, he said ”very good choice”. The hotel is very clean, and across the restaurant is the beach, where the kids are very happy. Recommend friends who bring children to Zha Island to stay. Just listen to the side of the road at the door. The whole Zakynthos feels clean and tidy. This impression starts from the arrival of the airport. The airport is spotless, very new and very clean. This hotel is very cost-effective, and the waiters are also very good.
One thing to remind, this hotel’s breakfast, fried eggs and sausages are per capita, and the waiter will come up and ask you what you want to eat after you are seated. You need to know a little English. Choose the same from the options she provides, free of charge. Yes, don’t get me wrong. Ah, I miss the days there.

|4.13km from city centerThese apartments are less than a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport (13 euros). The small complex of 8 studio apartments and 4 family apartments, are set in a quiet and gated grounds, the pool area and garden are beautifully kept, they are maintained every day. The apartments themselves are basic, but adequate. We didn’t cook in the apartment as we ate out most evenings, but did make simple breakfast and lunches. The room was very clean with daily cleaning and changing of towels and sheets every fourth day. The pool area was never crowded, plenty of sun beds and not on top of each other. There is a small cabin/reception area were you could buy drinks, snacks, and meals. (Small menu). Kalamaki strip was about 15/20 min walk along the main road, being in Greece there are no pavements, so had to be aware of the vehicles driving past, at night the road it not lit, so a torch would be handy, especially to access the apartments from the road, you have to follow a dirt track across a small field. Kalamaki has plenty of restaurants, we visited about 10 different ones over our 2 Week holiday, we felt they were very much of a similar standard, with the cost of our meals being between 29 euro which was the cheapest to 40 being the dearest (we had 2 starters to 2 main meals and drinks). There is a supermarket very near the apartment, across the field on the main road and also a bakery about 200 yards further along, with seating outside, we enjoyed coffee and croissants for breakfast.

|6.77km from city centerWe are currently staying at this hotel. It could be amazing but it lacks refinement. We are staying in a Sapphire nest room. It is adequate but quite small ( little hanging space and move move in the room with 2 suitcases. and has an adjoining door to next door so you can hear through the door. Luckily the hotel is not to full so the room next door is empty otherwise it would feel claustrophobic. We have a seaview room which is nice, wouldn’t want a room looking at the hotel blocks and gardens. The bathroom is tiny. I think we were the first of the season in the room and bathroom not as clean as it should have been when we arrived. ( marks on sink and toothpaste marks on the side.) The housekeeping have kept it very clean since. The food in the main restaurant is good but good not warm enough. ( people are all saying this when you speak to them) This is day three and don’t think the meats or meat dishes have ever been warm. The meat and fish have also dry as been left out a while. The selection is good and salads varied but as I have a garlic and onion allergy can only really stick to tomatoes and cucumber 🤪. The staff in the main restaurant are all lovely and work very hard, My allergy has not been catered for well. The Grilia restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. They knew I had a garlic allergy ahead of time and still served me bread with garlic dip as soon as we arrived. My friend ordered roasted veg with roasted peach ( I couldn’t have it due to the garlic) and no sign of peach just chopped apple. For mains we ordered Stonebass fish which was served with stone cold wilted greens. Maybe they were supposed to be cold, not sure, but it ruined the meal. The service was appalling. We were in the restaurant 2 hours and only received a starter and a main. After waiting 25mins with dirty plates and being ignored we gave up waiting for dessert. Two other tables also gave up and walked out. It was not busy, not even half full, The breakfast is excellent, amazing choice, our favourite meal. Have yet to have a decent cup of coffee. Always Luke warm and just had a cold one from the the Meze bar!! Very disappointing. The pool area is nice but no pool service. The lovely lady at the pool bar is run off her feet, and the queue can be a while. The hotel only has 40% capacity at the moment. I dread to think what it is like in the height of the season. There is no food menu at the pool which is very odd for an all inclusive hotel. There are a few snacks in the fridges by the bar. The hotel is very near the airport. You can see and hear the planes landing. Doesn’t bother us as good entertainment. This is the beginning of the season. The gardens are very sp**** looking and patchy. Needs replanting . Could be lovely. Looks quite dusty and muddy. The Meze restaurant is not open, neither is the Pita place. The hotel shop is also closed. Two double beds, a sofa bed, wardrobe, a shower room, a balcony, (tv), air conditioning, and a fully fitted kitchenette - even has a bottle opener. Is very clean, as it’s cleaned every day, clean towels every other day. The breakfast is good. A decent selection of food. Pool area is clean, crystal clear and cool water. Short walk - 3/5 minutes to town where you can find gift shops, café shops, bakeries, bars, restaurants and spa treatments. As well as lots of day tour operators. A narrow beach - it shelves a long way out , making it ideal for families. Also buses to other towns and beaches & the tourist train. Avoid the taxis, very expensive. Local buses are 1.60€, train 7€ return. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Mini fridge in room, and a large walk in shower in the bathroom with a glass screen. The room was immaculate and cleaned to a high standard every day. Eleni and Athena couldn't be more welcoming and so helpful. Thank you for everything you did for us. The bar was well stocked and the food on offer was beautifully cooked. Pool and sunbeds were amazing. Always found a sunbed with ease and the pool was a good size. Close to all the amenities and village. Could not have wanted for a better place to spend a wonderful holiday

|5.07km from city centerWe have been to Kalamaki many times over the years, and have walked passed the Athina Apartments on our visits, so we took the plunge and booked to stay here for 9 nights from the 8th September. The apartments are ideally located. They literally back onto the main ***** in Kalamaki, and are a few minutes walk from the main Kalamaki beach. We stayed in a top floor room, overlooking the pool. The view was great, and lovelly to wake up to in the morning or to enjoy of an evening before venturing out. Because we faced away from the main *****, we did not hear it at all. The rooms are basic, and could do with a little spruce up, but they are clean and comfortable, so that's what is most important. If you are looking to cook in the room, the cooking facilities consist of 2 hot rings and that's it. There is no oven or even a microwave. So you may struggle. But if like us, the only thing we cooked in the room was some toast for breakfast (yes there is a toaster and a kettle) then its fine. The pool area has been recently installed / renovated. Its is a lovely area, however during our entire stay, we did not see any member of staff tidy up the area at all, not even straighten the sun beds at the end of the day. When we had finished using the beds, we always tidied up after ourselves, and straighten the beds up etc, but not everyone did. So the pool area tends to look very untidy at the end of the day, which is such a shame, as it looks very tranquil in the evening, so it would be nice if it looked neat too :-) There is no lift in the hotel, so if you have struggle walking up flights of stairs, we would suggest opting for a ground floor apartment. However these do open up right onto the pool area so privacy will be a factor. The staff were great, and were always at hand should you need them. Would we stay again? Of course we would! In fact we have already booked to return again next September!!

|0.11km from city centerThe hotel is very central. You walk about a minute before the ”Sea (through stairs is access to water) and is in a few minutes in the city center. I had a room in the third floor and a very beautiful view from the balcony. The beds were OK, only the mattresses were a little hard (but I had that in many accommodations in Zakynthos) and yet I have sleeped very well in it. In the bathroom there is a light flood risk. A very small mini-fridge is available. Even if you have to be careful, because my water bottle was completely frozen next morning. The key had to be delivered when leaving the hotel. The rooms were quite bright (but I knew that also from other accommodation). When I lived in the upper floor, I had at least no noise from the top. The room was very warm overnight, air conditioning was unfortunately very noisy and on the street before the room was the traffic very noisy early. The chair was very nice, even though the door was a little tight. Breakfast was OK, there were: cut fruit, one vegetable shop, different bread varieties, two sauce varieties, two cheeses, honey, marmelade, coffee, tea, orange juice, a variety of corn flakes with milk, mirror eggs, a hot pasta, cakes, olives, yoghurt and cakes.

|2.03km from city centerThis hotel is the perfect relaxing break and it's really the staff that make it. They work relentlessly to make this the cleanest and friendliest hotel we have been to. (Special mention to Angela, Maria and Vlassis).A lot is made of the my favourite club option and we really didn't feel there was much of a benefit to it and we were glad not to have paid the extra. The food is some of the best we have had in all inclusive, while the buffet restaurant is not as vast as some the quality of the food is very high, well cooked and varies enough day to day we never felt it was repetitive. The a la carte restaurant was a nice experience and offered some authentic Greek options but it was a one and done for us. Drinks were varied and the staff in the bars were great. Lots of cocktails and spirits to choose from and self serve wine in the restaurants. My only criticism is the red wine is the worst all inclusive wine I've ever had! Freshly ground coffee machines were great though. Although obviously May is early season this is the first hotel were we didn't feel like there were sunbed wars. Could happily trot down with towels right up until 10am and know we would get beds that are comfortable. Entertainment is very limited, and there isn't much going on, so this is definitely a hotel for relaxation and not to be busy. There are other hotels in busier areas for anyone who wants to be consistently entertained. This is a relax and read a book in the sunshine hotel. Our room had a sea view was well furnished and very clean. We didn't think the bathroom was particularly small. More coat hangers would be nice mind. Tragaki is a nice little village for relaxation with a couple of shops and bars and a little beach nearby. There are places a bus or taxi away. You can walk, but the roads are not designed for pedestrians. All in all the aluasoul zakthynos is a lovely hotel. There are minor things that could be changed, but for a relaxing break you really can't go wrong.
