|2.06km from city centerGreat hotel. Room size is slightly bigger than the normal. You can open your luggage comfortably. Daily change of towels is a bit much but could be useful for others.
Hotel amenities and locker for luggage after checking out is a big plus.
Hotel is near 2 stations (hibiya and asakusa) and a quick walk to Koami shrine too.
There is a building full of food options near the Ningyocho Station. Close at 11pm. Check it out!

Shinjuku Area
Tokyo
|7.2km from city centerIt only takes 10 minutes from the B&B to Shinjuku in Wang District, which is a good choice! Our family of 5 people (2 large and 3 small), the room was very clean, as the photo introduced on Trip.com; There is a large room with 2 double beds and the other room with a double bed, which is just enough to sleep in the larger room than 3 children. The homestay provides toothbrushes, shaving cream, shower gel, shampoo, moisturizer and basic tea bags and coffee. And the same good thing is that he can cook there, and I will book this one next time! Also make a Shabu Shabu!

Hachioji
|2.74km from city centerMy first impression was that the door to the room was very close to the bed, but on the other hand, I didn't feel it was cramped during my stay. I didn't notice it when I checked in late at night, but when I woke up in the morning, I was glad to see the top of Mt. Fuji clearly from the window. The shampoo and other bath soaps were in large bottles, which were normal, but there was also a bottle of foam soap for washing your face and hands, which was nice. The bottle had POLA written on it. The bed was comfortable and supported my body well, so I slept well.
The table, chair, slippers, etc. seemed to be quite well-used. I also noticed some small pieces of lint-like garbage on the hallway and floor of the room, and wrinkles in my pajamas (which were washed, of course).
However, considering the price, I think that's about right. Overall, it was good.

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi
Tokyo
|2.98km from city centerIt's a short walk from JR Akihabara (about 10 minutes if it's your first time), but about 7 minutes from Akihabara Metro Station.
(Once you get used to it, you can go faster)
The entrance to the building is a little difficult to find at night, but
There is a signboard and an orange flag at the entrance.
I was able to find it safely.
Even if you check in late at night, please put up a sticker etc.
I was able to enter the room smoothly.
There are more toilets, sinks, and bathrooms (3) than I expected.
There are many hair dryers,
Paper towels, free ear plugs, and shampoo treatments are also available.
Although it is an unreasonable price,
It is very easy to use and I would like to use it again.
The receptionist I met in the morning was also very nice.
thank you very much.

Immediately walked us to nearby convenience store, even warmed t store’s meal for us as we were hungry. Staff Du Zi Yang also very polite. Very clean. Spacious by Jap standard. Separate bathroom n toilet.
Very convenient, convenience store, minimart stone’s throw away. Short walking distance to eateries, restaurants, shopping malls eg Sunshine city. Hotel very near Ikebukuro station easily accessible to other main districts / tourist attractions eg Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku.

|4.33km from city centerI ain't sure why a lot of people left a very bad comment regarding this property, the room size is quite big compared with JP standard (we got room at 6 floor with 2 beds (5ft size) for 2 person) the location is good (a walking distance to Kuramae station 200-350m (for Toei Asakura & Oedo line), surrounded with good restaurants such as Ramen, Tonkatsu (authentic one open since 1977), origin Japan (ready to eat JP meals & side dishes), etc. including a good Patisserie shops, a convenience stores (Lawson, Family mart, 7-11, local supermarket). Yes they have a rule regarding towels (1/ea/2 nights) & cleaning services (not on daily basis but if you want you can ask them to do), the guy at the receptionist may not always smile but if you asked something he's always respond & support, they have a common area (2nd floor) which there is kitchen, kitchen utensils, microwave, coffee machine, dining table, couches and air conditioning (and they are allowed us to use with free of charge) personally my friend & I would booked this hotel if we visit Tokyo next time.

1. When you get to the first floor, please make sure you understand the intercom password before you can open the door and take the elevator. The elevator is a bit small.
2. After going upstairs, find out the password of the room door first, and remember to lock the door when you go out
3. If there is no hot water, the control panel is on the kitchen wall or there is a panel in the bathroom. Just press it to turn it on.
4. A hair dryer is available
It's a short distance from the subway, there are few shops nearby, but everything else is ok. Affordable family room, the sofa bed in the living room is big enough for sleeping

|7.42km from city centerIt was good that rich, convenience stores and McDonald's from the station were nearby, but the unit bus was too narrow. The door didn't close tightly, so the air conditioner came in, and the shower curtain caught on my body while taking a bath, which made me feel uncomfortable. If you are a tall person, you can't take a shower unless you bow. The toilet was impossible unless I opened the door. I'm sorry that the customer service was good.

|3.58km from city centerI booked a shared room with this hotel. What I love about this hot hotel is that it is very near the Subway Station, there are a lot of restaurants around and a lot of convenient store as well. The front office staff is professional and polite. I was just surprised when the towel is not included and you need to rent one for a 100 yen, but it is not a big deal since it is my first time to try a dormitory type of accommodation. I love this place so much.

|2.7km from city center

|4.31km from city centerDormy Inn Ueno Tokyo – A Small but Well-Equipped Stay
During my recent stay at Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo, I found it to be a compact yet highly convenient hotel, especially for travelers who prioritize location and practical amenities over excessive space. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it does a great job of providing a comfortable stay with thoughtful touches.
Location – Perfect for Travelers
One of the best things about this hotel is its location. Just a short walk from Ueno Station, it offers easy access to the JR Yamanote Line, the Keisei Skyliner (for Narita Airport), and multiple metro lines, making it an excellent choice for those who plan to explore different parts of Tokyo. Additionally, the Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko) Market is just around the corner, where you’ll find everything from fresh seafood and street food to clothing and souvenirs. It’s a lively area that adds to the appeal of staying in Ueno.
Room & Facilities – Compact but Functional
As expected, the rooms are small, which is pretty standard in Tokyo, but they are well-designed with everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the room included basic amenities like a TV, a small desk, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but for a short stay, it was manageable. The bathroom was also compact, though the onsen (public bath) on-site makes up for it.
Onsen – A Small but Relaxing Bath
One of the highlights of staying at Dormy Inn hotels is their public bath (onsen), and this location has one, albeit on the smaller side. It’s not the biggest or most luxurious onsen, but it’s a nice way to unwind after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The water temperature was just right, and while the space was limited, it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited.
Freebies & Unique Perks
Dormy Inn is known for offering small but unique perks to its guests. This location provides free popsicles and yogurt drinks, which is a nice touch. However, they are only available during specific hours, so if you’re out sightseeing all day, you might miss out on them. They also supposedly offer free late-night soba, a Dormy Inn signature, but I never actually saw it happen and didn’t feel like asking about it. Maybe I just missed the time window. Free manga reading
Housekeeping – No Room Cleaning, Just Fresh Towels
One thing to note is that Dormy Inn follows a no-daily-cleaning policy. Instead of a full room service, they simply drop off fresh towels outside your door. This is fine if you’re staying just a few days, but if you prefer daily room cleaning, you might find it lacking.
Staff & Service
The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. They handled everything quickly and provided all the necessary information without any issues. While I didn’t interact with them much after check-in, the overall service felt professional and welcoming.
Final Thoughts – A Solid Stay for Practical Travelers
Overall, Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo is a great choice if you’re looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and functional stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent, the onsen is a nice touch, and the small perks like free drinks and late-night snacks add to the experience. Just keep in mind that the rooms are small, there’s no daily cleaning, and some of the free amenities have limited availability. If you’re okay with that, it’s a great place to stay in Ueno!

|6.71km from city centerNice hotel and the hotel room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel front desk is very helpful. The most good things is they are able to check in early if there is a available room. Although there is a early check in charges for 5000 yen but still worth it. There is a Lawson just 30 second walking distance to the hotel. Strongly recommend to the travellers who is bringing kids or old ppl to stay this hotel.

|5.46km from city centerI loved the beds! I stayed in the shared women's dormitory and the beds are much larger than they appear in pictures, with enough space to accommodate a lot of stuff. They provide great privacy for when you need to get away, considering it might be hard to get work done in the common room as this is one of the more ”social” hostels. Movie nights, games nights, and many more activities organized during my stay. Great for solo travelers wishing to socialize. I also saw some families staying.
Overall, a great experience. I can't wait for my next visit!

Back alley of the hotel is kind of shady with night clubs and day use hotels....Ironically, the hotel is next to a church. There are a few eatries on the same row as thr le hotel and 2 convenience stores.
Rooms were tiny, as are most of Tokyo hotels.
breakfast was some donuts, bread and dried fruit....
Free alcohol fr 5 to 8.
Nice boutique hotel.
One of the main reasons we chose to stay here was they have a 3 bed room configuration.

It's a little far from Tokyo Station, but if I have the chance, I would definitely use it again, so I highly recommend it.

|8.91km from city centerIt's a little far from the downtown area, so you have to change from Nakano Fujimicho Station to Taya Shibuya Ginza Tokyo Station two or three times, but it was quiet and there was a pretty Gaecheon-gil in front of the station, so it was nice to take a walk.
The hostel was spacious and clean, but the bathroom was narrow and it was too cold at night to be in February with one air conditioner ㅜㅜ
Convenience stores, moss burgers, bakery (really delicious) are crowded around the station, so you have to walk for about 5 minutes.
I am willing to visit again in the season, not in winter ^^
