Arrived at Aachen by train from Bonn via Cologne. The hotel is no more than 200 yards from the train station; straight across the square up Bahaoff street and the hotels on the right. A straight forward book in (face mask on) and straight to the room. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom likewise. Ample wardrobe space but alas no kettle; but this loss is made up with the room having a fridge. However, with the temperature reaching the low 30s the room required Air Conditioning sadly there is none. We don't pass comment on sleep quality as you either have good night sleep or you don't can't blame the hotel: simple really. The hotel is less than half a mile to Aachen town center and the local sites. The Dom is certainly worth a visit and the hotel will supply a map. Breakfast at the hotel was certainly worth the money although we declined their tea offer! Overall a good clean and tidy hotel, in a good location and, with an equal pleasant staff. What more does anyone want. Bon journey

Excellent value for money. The hotel is located near the Aachen Railway Station. From the train station, turn right and take the 1-200 meter. Very convenient, we lived in the twin standard room, originally thought that near the train station, the price is relatively civilian, the hotel environment will be average. When checking in, I saw that the lobby on the first floor was spacious and bright, with various facilities, billiards, many sofas and small round tables, bookshelves, ATM machines, coffee machines, freezers, and bar counters. Both yellow postboxes can accept international postcards. The problem is that the check-in time is 3 pm, early arrival, you can put in the luggage room. The room is wider than the city, at least much better than Paris, the sanitation is also very good, the bathroom is hygienic and bright. There are hand sanitizers, two-in-one bath, bath towels, and sheets, but other comments say that these things seem to be incomplete in the dormitory room, I am not sure. In addition, there is no air conditioning in the room, the bathroom is a natural exhaust vent, and there is no exhaust fan. We checked in at the beginning of October and had no effect. It is estimated that there is no problem in winter and there is heating in the bathroom and the room. I want to clarify a problem. Although I am squatting at the train station, I don’t feel the noise of the train when I close the window at night, or the train noise is not as big as some netizens said. Maybe some girls have poor sleep quality. Also, Chinese restaurants can be found nearby. We have been to two cities, namely City Garden and Jinlong Hotel. The city garden is about 15 minutes walk from the buffet hot pot. One person is 19.8 Euros, the dishes are complete, the drinks are free, we both Drinking two large bottles of Sprite, his home cooking is not expensive, a dish is about 13 euros, the price of vegetarian dishes is almost the same, as long as the order, it is free to provide rice, rice is not limited, the amount of food is enough for our northeast boys eat. Jinlong Hotel, walking distance is also about fifteen minutes, cooking is one or two euros more expensive than the city garden, the environment is very good, there are roast duck. From the hotel to Aachen University of Technology, a taxi is about 13 Euros, and the bus is 2.7 Euros per person.

Spent two nights at this hotel. We were very satisfied with both the room and the service provided. We were met by nice, polite and friendly stuff. Breakfast was great too. we were lucky to get a room with a view of the old cityport Marschiertor. The location is very handy very close to the main train station and also just a few minutes walk from the city center and Aachen dom.

good location and service. but there is no fitness gym; the room is a bit noisy as it is near a main traffic road; and the curtain doesn't fully block the external light so I had to wear an eyemask for sleep.

We have used this hotel many times as a stop over for trips by train beyond Aachen into Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. On this occasion, as usual, we stopped over on both outward and return journeys. This time, however, due to the closure of a favoured (I use English spelling) nearby restaurant, we used the hotel restaurant for the first time, since we are now less mobile than previously. There were not many customers but the service was excellent and while the menu was fairly basic, it suited our needs and we were able to make acceptable choices on both occasions. Ibis offers good value for couples; but rather expensive if you're on your own. Curiously the basic room price was higher on the return journey. - European Railwayman

Paying public parking in street (meters). Very small, only 1 person at the reception with no around the clock coverage like in standard hotels. No elevator. Rooms are fine, nice balcony with view and vines (overgrown).

I have stayed in this hotel quite a number of times and I never get disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. My room was quite small, but it was very clean, fully functional and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. There was sufficient storage space for the clothes, there was a water cooker with complimentary tea and coffee, and a safe large enough to fit my 15" laptop, plus some other valuables. The bathroom was really small, but had a nice shower. It was also very clean and everything worked fine. The two things I was less impressed with were the desk and in particular the chair. This is not suitable at all to sit at for a longer period of time. Working from your hotel room is not such a good idea with this kind of chair. I also think there should be some thin curtains or another way, like blinds, to block the view from the buildings on the other side of the street. You're completely exposed now and that is not pleasant. The regular curtains block all light, which is fine to sleep, but it does mean you either are visible to many others, or sit in the dark with the lights on. Regarding the furniture and also in the bathroom, there were some signs of wear and tear. Not a big deal, but it doesn't make a good impression either. The breakfast buffet is superb and I can highly recommend taking it. The food items are fresh, delicious and of very high quality. There are also many choices. The location of this hotel is really convenient. It is literally just a few minutes away from all the famous city sightseeing locations and stores in Aachen. Last, but certainly not least, I was there while the COVID-19 outbreak started to hit really hard. Hotel attendance already appeared to be low, but I admire the staff that under these circumstances provided the same great service and friendliness.

What a disappointment - the last night of our holiday and we were arriving into Aachen after a long days driving. We had booked the hotel due to its central location and private on-site parking but when we arrived we were told that the hotel has no parking and was issued a piece of paper with the names of local car parks - none affiliated with the hotel so we had to pay and walk 10 minutes back to the hotel. Annoyingly when we checked out, a different member of staff apologised and said that there was in fact parking at the hotel both around the back and underground. The room had no AC or ventilation and was incredibly hot & humid. We tried to keep the windows open but the noise from revellers on the streets and noisy cars until the very early hours meant that this wasn’t possible and we got no sleep whatsoever. There were soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall but both were empty. Water left in the kettle from the previous occupant and powered milk to make coffee with! The breakfast tasted good but service was hurried even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. No wi-fi, or if there was there were no details of the log in etc. A real shame as it’s a modern hotel in the right part of town but it was the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had.

During a trip to Europe prior to Christmas I booked this property for one night to explore Aachen and the Christmas market. It is in a great location near the cathedral and the market. The entire town center and shopping areas are in easy walking distance. The room was small but certainly functional and in line with many rooms in smaller Europeans hotels. Nice bed, adequate storage space, and a desk. The bathroom was also appropriate. Downsides were the fact there is no registration desk and no fulltime person to help you. You are provided a code to get you in the property. You then go to a machine to check in. The machine is a little temperamental. I had problems with it and I watched multiple others fight with it has well. Ultimately we all got registered. After excepting your registration, the machine assigns your room and code to access it. Note this code is different from the main door entrance code. You check out using the same method. Makes an early check-in very difficult. I didn't need a later checkout but checkout time was 10am which I think is too early in many cases. Since there is no on-premise help, no one exists to plead your case to. You do have a number to call for problems if needed. No technical hotel restaurant but the hotel is in a building where an Italian restaurant is on the ground floor of the building. A wide array of eating venues are close by(and I mean close by). If I were simply doing the Christmas market or the Cathedral I would stay here again. Otherwise I might find a place with a front desk and a little more flexibility.

The hotel is located right on the main square and a very quick walk to the Dom. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with good bathrooms. Your room overlooks the square, but is not to noisy at night. Breakfast is great with many options. Their is parking close by and costs EUR15.00 overnight.

The Novotel Aachen is centrally located in the heart of the imperial city, just a few minutes' walk from the historic old town, cathedral and Eurogress conference center. The 154 rooms are air-conditioned, sound-proofed and very spacious, with WIFI, a desk, sofa and tea/coffee-making facilities in an innovative design. The restaurant offers regional and international dishes, along with the bar and large sun terrace. Relax in the steam bath housed within the fitness area, which looks out across the city.

We stayed one night on our way home from France and had 2 double rooms booked. We found them to be spacious and clean - in fact they were really great. The hotel was easy to find from the motorway. The personnel was very kind and helpful. Checking in and out went smoothly. The breakfast was fine and just what we needed to start the day. Within walking distance (5 minutes), theres a steak/burger restaurant and an italian restaurant - we tried the latter of the two and it was quite good. Theres also a Burger King just across the street from the hotel. All in all a good experience and we will not hesitate to book another night here. And we can strongly recommend it for others as well.

Booked this hotel for 1 night as I was planning to visit Aachen and the surrounding areas over the weekend. Was also curious to try out the Hampton Inn brand in Germany (my first Hampton Inn stay in Germany). The rate I booked was not too bad (although I was surprised it was not lower especially with the current situation - but I did noticed that the hotel was quite full, so I guess demand is still there) Location The hotel is located in what seems like a new housing area (the housing area at the back of the hotel is clearly very modern) and very close to the (again seems new) football stadium for the city football club, Tivoli. From the hotel it is about 20-30 mins by foot to the city centre of Aachen - I would recommend to do this walk if you are in Aachen by car, able to walk and do not want to pay the car parking fees (I just realized at quite a number of large German cities that even on Saturday's street parking is payable until 9pm and they don't seem cheap). Although there seems to be also payable street parkings at the housing area around the hotel - although I am not sure until what time and if it's the same as the city centre. I find the move of these German cities quite strange even with the understanding that they are trying to green up the city centre and not encourage car usage. Check In I was actually surprised that for such a rather new property, no digital key was on offer. I did still however do an online check-in and selected my room (as booked). Arrived late afternoon after 5 pm and there was quite a line at the front desk. Waited for about 10 mins before it was my turn. At check-in, the usual run down of current operations was done and I had to make a reservation for breakfast the next day - which for the first time, I could not get the time I wanted as it was already full, however luckily they do have also the option that you can come down and grab what you want and bring it to your room, which increased the flexibility of it. I was also informed of my benefits as an elite member (only snacks/drink from the pantry and none from the bar - which I believe it was closed) Room The room size and design was the exact same cookie cutter as the Hampton Inn's that I've stayed in the Netherlands. Even down to the brand of toiletries on the wall mounted bottles (Spa Thermal). The room did still have a water boiler and 2 cups and 2 glasses, however there was no tea/coffee sachets. There was however a note offering guests complimentary coffee/tea down at the front desk (which I believe is actually at the bar/breakfast area) - I did not partake in this. It was however a very good (and inexpensive) alternative compared to even some full service hotels within the Hilton change (looking at you Hilton Dusseldorf) for removing completely this facility with no alternative. Furthermore, there was another note in the room informing guest that they understand the reduced in service/facilities but if there was anythi

We stayed at this hotel during the weekend to visit Aachen's Christmas Market. The hotel looked very well maintained and very clean. The staff are friendly. I find the price a bit too high for what the actual room offers. There were 4 of us and they provided 2 singles beds and a sofa bed. There were drinks in fridge but it wasn't very clear to us if it was included or not. A bottle of wine was on the table with a price tag but the other drinks did not specify any price. If it was included in the price, then its a bit dissappointing because we would have not bought drinks from outside. It is advertised as a 4star hotel however, they do not provide slippers nor toothbrush. If I am not mistaken, you have to pay extra for it which is weird because being a 4 star hotel, this amenities should be complimentary. I sent an email prior to our arrival asking about the breakfast price. I was told that it costs €14- per person if you book it on check in. We were not asked about it when we checked so we asked it in the evening and they said it is €19- per person. Very overpriced considering Aachen is not an expensive city so we decided not to have it. I found the discrepancy dissappointing. Unless there is no other options, I would not consider going back.
