Room is spacious in Japanese standard with an excellent view by the sea. Scenic spots at Miyazaki along the coast are within an hour's drive. There are 2 restaurants which offer buffet breakfast at your choice. Choice of food is many for the western-Japanese restaurant but not the Chinese-Japanese one. while the quality of food at both is exceptional. Location is a bit far away from city centre by walking distance. The spa is reasonably good, though not as close as we may expect from the main hall and also a bit difficult to locate. Hotel is thoughtful in offering warm outer jackets which you may use when walking to the hot bath as there are open areas. Overall a very pleasant stay for a family of three. We will definitely stay in the same hotel when travelling there again,

This hotel is cool! It was our last stay at the end of a very enjoyable 2 weeks on Kyushu. We had already experienced a gamut of lodgings (traditional ryokan, onsen resorts, and business, boutique, and big international franchise hotels), so we were open to something a bit different. We had read about and experienced the modern urban hotel idea in Europe: placing a building with modern style and construction materials in an older urban setting while incorporating elements of nature. We stayed at such a place in Zurich, and while it was okay, we probably would not return. However, should we return to Miyazaki, we cannot envision staying anywhere else other than the Garden Terrace, in fact, if going to Nagasaki, based on our Miyazaki experience we would definitely check out the Nagasaki Garden Terrace too. This hotel is a modern design with only 2 stories. The first floor consists of front desk, reception, courtyard with pond, 2 restaurants (1 slightly elevated teppanyaki-counter style with a view into the courtyard and the other French theme with a window into the kitchen), wedding party rooms, and super modern wedding chapel that cuts through the courtyard diagonally and slopes slightly upward. Wedding venues are a big business in Japan. If you are looking for a unique destination wedding spot, give this place a good look. Note, no wedding took place on premises during our mid-week 2-night stay. A true boutique hotel, there are only 12 guestrooms, all on the second floor. There is an elevator. The guest rooms are good size. They have high ceilings, are finished in light woods, contain complimentary beverages in a refrigerator, and offer high-tech electronic amenities. Elegance and Scandinavian design spring to mind. A separate toilet room is by the room's entry door (also high-tech). In the rear of the room is a bathroom with sink and mirror, and Japanese traditional style separate shower/washing area and big bath tub. Also on the second floor of the hotel is a shared lounge that opens at 4pm and offers complimentary healthy snacks, finger foods, and various beverages. We ate dinner in the Japanese restaurant and breakfast in the French restaurant and were very pleased with both meals. The hotel sits in the middle of a neighborhood, with other commercial properties and mixed residential (some high rises) close by, as well as a raised local rail line. The hotel incorporates a line of surrounding bamboo and small trees outside, plus bamboo used inside and in guest rooms. Small trees and pond are in the inner-courtyard. Service was very good, greeting and seeing us off, coordinating meals, and setting up station shuttle rides. When queried about the staff's English skills, they said they could handle common questions, but that more detailed questions might be harder to answer. At check-in our room was upgraded from standard to deluxe twin. In addition to being bigger, it included an outdoor under the sky 2-person Jacuzzi and a de

Reading reviews on TripAdvisor, I was expecting the worse but what a surprise! The room was large with 2 twin bed. Room looks like it has been recently refreshed with new wall paper and configuration. The shower was smallish but adequate and well stock with everything one's needs to start the day. There was hot bath facilities although not truly onsen as in the Japanese term. Breakfast was of good quality and adequate choice. Free coffee and gassy drinks near reception. For the price one's pay, you cannot ask for more. As I was there merely to enjoy the Sakura, I hardly stay in the room except to sleep so I am perfectly happy with this facility. I would recommend this to anyone on short stay or a business trip on a Budget.

We arrived at the west side of Miyazaki station by highway bus from Beppu and just had to walk through the station to the east side, from where the Richmond Hotel is clearly visible. The train tracks are elevated, so crossing the station at ground level is very easy. We crossed the road to the hotel. The ground floor is shared with the hotel's restaurant and a hairdressing salon. An escalator took us up one floor to reception. Check in was swift and efficient. Within a few moments our passports had been copied, our payment had been taken by the check-in machine, which also issued our room keys, breakfast coupons had been handed to us and we had been escorted to the lift. Our suitcases, sent on from Fukuoka the previous day, had already been placed in our room. As we were staying for 7 nights we had booked a larger room. This was on the 9th floor and had a pleasant view that included the Space and Science Museum, with its observatory roof - and a 40-metre rocket! The room was well-equipped with trouser press, phone charging cables, fridge, nightshirts, toiletries, tea and coffee. The TV included the English language NHK World channel. If you indicate that you are happy not to have the sheets changed daily, bottles of water will be left for you by the efficient housekeeping staff. This was our first visit to Miyazaki and we found the Richmond Hotel's location ideal. Next door was a neat and tidy 7-11. Tourist information staff in the nearby station provided us with detailed travel information for local buses. Aoshima is easily visited by train or bus. Most local and highway buses go from the west side of the station but frequent buses to the Aeon Mall (the largest in Kyushu) depart from the Richmond Hotel side of the station. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. As this part of Kyushu is sub tropical, we shouldn't have been surprised to find fresh mango and mango juice on the buffet. Local specialities included delicious fried chicken with vinegar sauce, small fried fish, and a cold cucumber miso soup. The pickled plums were large and juicy. In addition to the usual items of morning curry, vegetables, Japanese omelette, salad, etc, there was a comprehensive selection of western items: scrambled eggs, small sausages, bacon, hash browns, and croissants. The coffee machine produced good coffee. In Miyazaki we looked forward to breakfast each morning. There were two coin laundry machines and two coin dryers in the hotel. I didn't understand the instructions but, putting the clothes in, closing the lid, and inserting 200 yen produced a washed load in 30 minutes. The dryers cost 100 yen for 30 minutes. On previous stays at Richmond hotels we have borrowed an iron and board but in Miyazaki we found the same-day laundry service for shirts and blouses was reasonably priced and efficient. We usually send our luggage on separately to our next hotel. However, as we were travelling by highway bus to Kumamoto wher

The location of this hotel is so good. Downstairs is the bus station, train station and the office. Foreigners can buy a bus ticket for 1,500 yen a day downstairs. The room is quite large and has a sofa. Clean and good environment, surrounded by parks, science museums, etc.

Came to Miyazaki for a day to visit an old friend. Stayed at this hotel for a night before returning to Osaka. The outlook of the hotel is cool, with a marvellous look. The service at the reception was exceptional. The room is considered big in Japan, even for a single room. The bed was comfortable and big, the room comes with a TV, hairdryer, bathtub and many other amenities. The bar on the 18F is also very nice, with a city view of Miyazaki, it’ll be a nice place to chill in the evening. Only thing is that i guess the wall are not very soundproof as i am able to hear guests snore and walk in other rooms, beside and on top. But other than that, everything else was very good. I would definitely come back here to stay. Highly recommended! 👍

The location is next to Miyazaki Station, and the trip is very convenient. The place to eat in Miyazaki Station is very good. The Miyazaki Niu shop is delicious, and there is KFC. But also because of the station, so the noise is quite big when the car passes, until the evening passes the zero or there will be a car passing, breakfast is in the hotel lobby

The Hotel JAL City Miyazaki is located just on the edge of its central business area. its about a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the closest train station. It is quite close to restaurants and shopping. There is also a 24-hour supermarket very close by. The room size is a bit better than the standard Japanese hotel room. The hotel is about 15 years old (they are celebrating their 15th anniversary). The room design, decoration are bit aged. There is no safe in the room. The hotel also do not provide complimentary bottle water. I am not sure whether this is a common practice for hotels in Miyazaki or just this hotel. Service was quite good and the front desk really tries hard to please the customer. Unfortunately, the English competency of the front desk staff (or all staff for that matter) are quite poor. We have breakfast included in our room rate. The breakfast was OK with fairly limited selection of western food. There is also a Japanese section available too. The service was a bit passive as we have to ask for coffee refill each time. Overall, its not a bad hotel. May be our expectation is a bit high when compared with service levels of hotels in places as Tokyo.

It was the best facility to stay alone. Breakfast was also delicious. It's near the downtown area, so it's a great place to go for a drink.

Just a short 5-minute walk from JR Miyazaki Station, and 5 minutes away by car from the liveliest part of town. For those coming by car, the hotel is situated just 15 minutes drive from the Miyazaki IC. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms as well.

Conveniently located <5mins from the station and 2mins from Aoshima island. I stayed in the mixed tatami dorm which was comfortable but without much privacy. The bed was good and warm but not too hot. However the hostel has a weird layout - the kitchen is only accessible via the bathroom or the dorm room, so anyone who wants to use the kitchen must go through the bedroom if the bathroom is in use - waking people up in the early morning. On my first night people were up talking loudly on the balcony outside until midnight which was a bit thoughtless. If I came back to Aoshima I would stay here again as it’s the cheapest place but I think it’s better to do a day trip from miyazaki

The hotel gave one a grand feeling upon entry - ample of space and the decoration was modern. The room was upgraded to the premier floor - 2 semi double beds Ocean View Room, very comfortable for two persons. The hotel is definitely constructed for a resort area providing varies type of out door activities. Unfortunately during my two nights stay was unable to enjoy the facilities because of the inclement weather. However would like to mention that could still enjoy the excellent dinner and breakfast and the hot spring bath. For those occupants leaving the hotel there were staff at the main entrance to provide towel and umbrella. This is commendable. On the whole had a good and comfortable stay plus all staff were polite and helpful. Will definitely return on next occasion.

The hotel is in the city center, there are a lot of food nearby, there are also many pharmacies, and it is very convenient to travel; by the way, we introduce the restaurant Xingjia next door, Miyazaki beef must-try restaurant; this hotel has new facilities, but the rooms are too small, but we have been used to No wonder; in addition, the late-night ramen provided by the hotel for free is of poor quality and definitely eats at the entrance; the only point that is deducted is the hot spring, which smells a lot of chlorine water and immediately reduces the desire
