|1.14km from city centerNice place, close to the beach, tasty breakfast, cozy rooms with everything you might need. But the best part is staff, they are always super friendly, they really try to help you with any of your problems. Most of them speak English but with an accent that is sometimes difficult to understand (for me personally). They also would never refuse to talk to you if you start a conversation and it’s really really fun. P.S. special thanks to our house keeper Sapumal, very cute and polite person, he even made a towel sculptures for us, adorable P.P.S. There’s also a view point with binoculars on 14th floor, access is free and it’s usually empty, highly recommend checking it out

|1.7km from city centerWe can not say enough good things about our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive to details. We arrived at 3:00am and the hotel had prepared some fruit and sandwiches for our arrival. My wife is celiac and the staff did an amazing job ensuring there were food options available for her. They even prepared traditional Sri Lankan food for us to try. The beach club gets very busy during the day but we still felt like the only guests there. This place has a great island vibe with music and different entertainment daily. We will definitely be returning before the end of our trip.

|1.1km from city centerThe hotel is really small, a bit disappointing. I booked a two-night, two-bedroom apartment. I want to try to discuss with the manager whether I can only stay for one night. After a fruit, a uncle who wears a tattered vest, shorts, and unbridled is a manager, then speaks. It is also very rude, the attitude is too good, and the words are rude and can not directly say no. There are only 9 rooms, in the mountains, black and dark at night, our 4 women, do not dare to go out at night. There are two beaches near the hotel. It takes more than 15 minutes to walk, and we meet weekends. Many locals gather for dinner, drink, and we go to the beaches in the afternoon. All the way to the big local men, a little scared, go On the beach, I saw two European and American girls in swimsuits, and a group of men who drank alcohol, they left, and the hotel was in a good environment, the room was very comfortable, and the surrounding environment was really bad. Looking at the sea view on the mountain, but the geographical environment is really bad, travel dudu, only suitable for staying in the hotel all day~ Breakfast is an order, it is quite rich, the staff are male, except for the so-called manager, the attitude is very good. Will not stay again

|0.72km from city centerWe thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Hotel Panorama. The bungalow was clean and spacious and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The gardens and views looking down over the bay are gorgeous. But like all views from such a vantage point, has a hill to climb however this was not a problem and when we were being lazy, we just rung the bell at the gates and the staff drove the tuk tuk down to take us up. Breakfast: fruit, eggs etc, toast, tea or coffee and of course the Sri Lankan breakfast which I highly recommend. Lots of animals including monkeys and birds too see and of course, not forgetting the resident tortoises 😊 A lovely place to stay and I'd like to thank the staff for their kindness and hospitality

|0.59km from city centerGayan and his team were amazing. I’ve not had such homely service like this before in all my travels!
They all went above and beyond to cater to all my needs and questions.
The breakfast spread was vast and memorable, days after leaving its still all I think about! The room was spacious enough for me, though, do note noise from the road could be a hindrance to super light sleepers. I’d advise you have a room not close to the road.
The hotel is serene and calm, giving of a relaxed and natural vibe in a bustling area. The change is welcomed after a long day out on the beach with people.
10/10 would return!

|1.15km from city centerThe view is great and breathtaking during sunset. They keep the hotel premises and garden clean. But when entering to the hotel, we feel like its an isolated/neglected place. Path is broken and both sides covered with ugly trees and bushes. No one to look at until we park and go to the reception. People park the vehicles wherever they want blocking other vehicles (we had to wait nearly half an hour to move our vehicle because someone was blocking it).We got a deluxe room with pool access. The bathroom design is so stupid and uncomfortable design. Rooms are not nice as the photos they have posted in web. Room amenities are ok but furniture and design of the room looks cheap. There is a very small staff. They looked like some random people found for day pay. Restaurant has no proper AC. We were sweating while having meals. There was only one guy to serve us who is not even wearing a mask. Special thank should go to the Chef. He had arranged very tasty food for the limited budget(we heard how they discuss the meal budget and all. They were too noisy and disturbing). Meal quantity is really small. Took longer time to serve. However next day breakfast was a buffet which was better. Rooftop is flooded when raining. Such a beautiful view is wasted. Elevator is out of service and we have to climb 4 floor to the restaurant. (this was reported in other reviews posted long ago). Such a beautiful location is wasted due to mismanagement.

|0.47km from city centerA beautiful villa, the location is super, next to the main street, but from the sounds only nature ... a lot of living creatures: monkeys, peacocks, parrots, monitor lizards in the river, once saw a snake on the territory and a lot of chipmunks. Cleaning every two days, cleaned well, even too much (after moving to another hotel, they found that some things were missing - clothes), perhaps the hostess does not know and the cleaners steal, be careful!

Lovely setting about 10mins from the main town. Lovey small 4 bedroom boutique. Amazing staff who will always help you with whatever you need. Nice breakfasts and met some lovely guests there too. Nice pool area where you can spend your time. Would recommend for couples of families.

|0.62km from city centerGood breakfast, typical English breakfast, the room is quite good, it is a hotel level, there is an elevator, very close to the beach, two or three hundred meters. The only thing that was uncomfortable was that Ctrip gave a house on the first floor. The house was particularly bad. There was one on the first floor, next to the kitchen, and the room was not well ventilated. However, the hotel service is not bad, and the cleaning is clean.

|0.85km from city centerBig loft with kitchen, amazing huge terrace to watch the sunset from. View on Unawatuna coast. In the jungle, a bit far from the center and the sea (10’ walk) but totally worth it. Keerthi and sujeewa are the nicest people we’ve met in Sri-Lanka (and all Sri-Lankans are very nice!), very helpful with everything and breakfast was delicious. Everything perfect, but if you are afraid of squirrels or open spaces in the jungle maybe you’d better stay by the seaside. If you love nature, want to wake up with birds singing, that’s the best place you can go in Unawatuna!! So sad to leave..

|0.96km from city centerThis place took me by surprise. Leaving the loud main road, you wind up briefly to a perfectly serene, quiet retreat, staffed by some of the most kind and genuinely invested human beings I’ve ever met. Our rooms were great, wifi worked without a problem, and there was never any power outage. The kitchen is what really got me, though. I normally don’t eat much at hotels, seeking more local experiences outside. But during my three days in Unawatuna I did not once eat anywhere other than Thambapanni. The food here is nothing short of divine. Margarita pizza better than I’ve had anywhere, sautéed Tuna that redefined how fish could be prepared for me, hell even the base salad was masterfully seasoned and actually full of flavor. I actually got to know the chef, Lionel, just to thank him for his effort and the clear attentiveness and knowledge he brings to his craft. The waitstaff was also very helpful. Deshan in particular was so helpful, ever attentive without being obtrusive. At one point he even offered to bike into town to get some antihistamines for my wife, who was suffering an allergic reaction at the time. And the owner, Alex, even took me and my wife on a tour of his farm! This was the other secret to why their food is so amazing—aside from Lionel’s experience and professionalism, they locally source their ingredients! Alex showed us where they grow cinnamon, coconuts, bananas, and the chickens, so full and contented. Everything about this place was clearly the product of dedication and love, from the field to your plate. When we had to leave, my wife and I actually felt sad to go. And the receptionist at the front desk, having noticed my wife photographing flowers, actually made her an adorable little flower keychain from folded ribbons. Delightful location, unbelievably good food, kind and genuinely invested staff, 5/5 would do it again.

|0.94km from city centerFabulous stay in this gorgeous hotel right on the beach. All of the staff without exception were top rate! They couldn’t have been more attentive, so kind friendly and helpful, always with a smile too. We had room 1, practically right on the beach. The room had everything you need, air con, fan, safe, hair dryer, good shower and very comfy bed. The restaurant was excellent with lots of tourists from other hotels coming to eat, always a good sign. I had the most delicious tuna which I like cooked rare and it came just as I wanted. Sadly we only had one night here but we would definitely come back.

|0.72km from city centerI can't recommend this place highly enough. Spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, effective aircon & good WiFi. Superb location for the beach and all the shops and restaurants in Unawatuna. The family that run the guest house go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the guests enjoy their stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the Sri Lankan breakfast is an absolute delight. Complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival and complimentary tea, pancakes and home made Christmas cake on Christmas day. Lovely, genuine people who want you to enjoy your stay.

|0.4km from city centerI visited Hotel J Unawatuna with a few of my friends, and we got two triple rooms with breakfast. It is a very calm and quiet place for a quick get-away. It is also located in an area where we could walk towards many restaurants and the Unawatuna Beach. The food we ordered from the hotel was really good and did pretty well with the quantity. The rooms that we got were spacious and clean (but the bathrooms could be a bit more cleaner). Even though they don't provide tea/coffee making facilities or water bottles in the room, as they do belong to Jetwing budget hotels, overall, the rooms, food, and service from the staff were second to none. I will certainly be staying here again!

|1.38km from city centerThe hotel is a 5 to 8 minute walk from the busier beach end of the road, making it a quiet hotel which we really appreciated. The sunset from the hotel is wonderful and you can see Galle Lighthouse in the distance. All of the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are well kept and housekeeping come every day, even if you ask in the evening. All rooms have A/C and a mini fridge, you are also provided with 2 bottles of water each day. There are tea and coffee making facilities. There's a good shower, with toiletries available if needed. There is fresh fruit and juice , pancakes, cereal and English breakfast with eggs of your choosing each day. A couple of days an Sri Lankan breakfast was offered. There are tuk tuks nearly always just outside the hotel, prices in Unawatuna and Galle are much higher here than other locations in SL. To get to Galle is 500 to 600 rupees, the lowest we found was 400. To Mirissa is 4000 but you'll be able to get back for 1500. There is a small pool with an outside bar looking over the sea. There are plenty of sunbeds and the pool is often quiet during the day. The only comment I would have is that the pool could be a little cleaner. It's by no means terrible and I still used the pool happily. The last couple of days the water did look a little murky compared to the previous 12 days, but the staff were aware and trying to rectify the problem. All in all an excellent stay for a good price.

|1.12km from city centerThe best holiday with this hotel 💕 Rest from 23.10.23 to 02.11.23 and here it was perfect. The staff is the best, in everything will help(call tuck-tuck, solve the question, to tell something), waiters wau (Chaminda ❤️), the cooks are perfectly prepared, everything is very delicious, cleaning the rooms super 🙌🏼 Looks and location are chic, walking can reach 3 beaches, free transport from the hotel to the most favorite Jangle beach, very close to the street with restaurants and shops, but at the same time you are in nature 🌱 Burundukki, monkeys, mangusts, Iguana, but you can not experience, They do not cross your personal boundaries 😁 Hotel is small and it is very comfortable, for you always there will be a place 🙌🏼 We will always go back there and I advise all that you also visit Paradise ✨ Another great thank you to the staff, you are wonderful 🥰 (Chaminda ❤️, Kavinga ❤️, Sandaka ❤️, Ranjith ❤️)

The scenery there is so beautiful that I can't describe it in words. I am very fortunate to see the beautiful sunset! ! ! But on the day of the check-in, it is estimated that the sound of the weekend will continue until 3:30 in the morning. After I fell asleep, I didn’t know it. Hahaha.

|1.14km from city centerIt's hard to know where to start with this review. From the moment we booked the general manager sent me a personalised message. We arrived greeted by a refreshing cold towel and a tour of this beautiful hotel. We booked the grand suite for 8 nights and 9n entering it exceeded my expectations. The room is huge tastefully decorated spotlessly clean. The bathroom is beautiful and there is even a small kitchen area. The veranda overlooking the pool was a gret place to have our morning coffee. The grounds make you feel like you are in a tropical rain forest and the pool and separate jacuzzi are lovely. Breakfast was a delight and they adapted every morning to our tastes. All of the staff are amazing and friendly. And the general manager is so lovely greeting us personally every morning asking about our stay and if there is anything they can do for us. All the staff were a credit to this beautiful place. Ps the private beach is stunning feels like your on a tropical island. I wish our stay was not ending tomorrow. Would not hesitate to come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay and happy memories.

|1.4km from city centerThank you for professional cooperation at the stage of preparing the trainings for dentists on 21.04-07.05.2022 and handling the event. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to your entire team, and especially to Mr. Sydney. I must emphasize the excellent preparation of the organization and professional service. He flexibly reacted to emerging situations, often exceeding our expectations. Unplanned room changes, additional training rooms or unexpected changes in schedules found great understanding and immediate action. His highly developed interpersonal skills and knowledge of customer service resulted in excellent and effective cooperation with us, ensuring the highest quality of event service. As a customer, I am convinced that he is a great asset to your team and I believe that his managerial skills and attitude benefit your company. We were captivated by the hospitality and friendliness of the entire staff. Special thanks go to the masterchef who every day planned various and delicious meals for us, both in European and Sri Lankan versions, and to Mr. Ravi who helped us when we needed it. Huge applause to the general manager that he was able to gather such a wonderful and committed team in one place. His personal participation had a huge impact on our positive assessment of the organization of this event. The high standards of service we experienced will remain in our memory for a long time. We have heard extremely positive opinions from the participants of our trainings regarding both the facility and the service provided. If you are planning a holiday, business meetings, training or a conference in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend to stay at the Thaproban Pavilion Hotel. It is a beautiful and distinctive facility located in an unusual place. I am convinced that we will return soon during the next foreign training courses in this region of the world. Best regards to the entire hotel team, thank you once again for a wonderful time. You wonderfully complement the pleasant experiences of beautiful Sri Lanka. I wish you a lot of success! Adrian

The family offer a complimentary tuk tuk service to Unawatuna and it is only 300 rps to get back.. The family who own the villa are lovely people and cannot help with your needs enough.. Food is delicious ( they even let my wife watch as part of a cooking demo) and delivered to your table outside your room.. I asked for a Scooter so we could get around.. They organised it.. In fact nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the deluxe room option and it was ideal.. Please if you are looking to enhance your Sri Lankan experience give this place a visit you will not be disappointed.. We were only staying for 2 nights originally but extended as we are enjoying it so much.. Well done to the owners if I could give it more than 5 stars I would..

|1.94km from city centerThe hotel is small, it is a pair of father and daughter operating, there are only six or seven rooms, but the hotels along the road are almost the same. The room is large, the bath is large, and all the supplies are available. You can ask the little brother to have a hairdryer. Can't swipe, want cash. The hotel does not have a swimming pool. The beach in front of the hotel has a good ecological protection. Small crabs and hermit crabs can be caught everywhere. There are no rubbish on the beach. Foreigners are seen along the road. The water is fine and the photos are beautiful. There are many big crabs crawling up and down on the reef, and small fish swimming in the pool. The breakfast at the hotel is very expensive, the bread is a lot, it can't be eaten and wasted.

|1.95km from city centerThe villa is beautiful, big, 4 bedrooms with its / u, large clean pool, the territory is walking pavilions, 3 crab, monkeys come. Around silence, rice fields, a situation of complete privacy. Many dishes in the kitchen. I liked Dima very much, he lives in a nearby house, is engaged in the service of the villa, and very helped us that with the tuck, that with the search of the nearest restaurant/shop. There was also an incoming assistant who cooked us breakfast and we asked her to cook lunch for a dop. For the purchase of products, money was given separately. From the downsides, we have not cleaned up, and it seems that it should have done it by the assistant, but she did not. The floors were dirty, the towels were all wet and smelly, the towels for the feet in the showers were wet all 3 days, the garbage tanks in the toilets were not empty, the table was not washed, all in the flies. And in the kitchen there is no desire to cook, because everything is dirty and when you take a clean glass, you want to wash it again. As a result, the villa is cool, but lack of purity all spoils, perhaps it is a feature of local mentality, but for this money, it is better to give preference to the hotel
