I feel like the people who rate this hotel highly have never stayed in a proper hotel before. This is a family run business and sure, they’re nice people, but this is my 8th or 9th stay here (I stay a few times a year for work) and this will be my last time. I will beg my company to put me somewhere else next time. On my hands and knees. The bedrooms vary from average with a double bed to horrible with a tiny single bed. There’s no air conditioning, just a €5 fan from Argos. The front desk are a mixture of lovely young people who will get you what you need, to a tired clapped out old guy who won’t tell you why the ‘gym’ is inexplicably closed. I say ‘gym’ because really it’s a few treadmills and a £60 weight bench you could have in your home garage. You need an iron to iron your shirts for a work event? Good luck!! There’s one ironing board in the entire hotel. You can go get an iron at reception, but it’s almost entirely potluck whether you can get an ironing board to go with it. And if the ironing board isn’t available they don’t tell you, just give you the iron on it’s own - great help - thanks guys 👍🏻 Breakfast is distinctly average ‘European breakfast.’ If you’re from England, don’t expect a decent breakfast. This is the most honest review you’ll ever read of this hotel so hope it helps. If you just need s bed for a night or two, sure, go for it. If you’re on a business trip or you’re here for an extended visit - don’t punish yourself. Stay in a real hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel and was treated really badly by staff and management. Stood at reception for assistance and was served only after all other guests who came in well after me were served first, when i asked the young lady at reception why this happened, she replied that she did not see me, ok you did not see me wen i was the third person there and the rest came after me? Sorry was the answer. Asked for an iron and was told ok its down there in the passage going to restaurant. I asked if i could be helped with it, answer was ; the iron stays there u can go there and iron your cloths: fine will go there. Then i asked her if they serve anything else besides beef and pork and if chicken is available, yes was the answer , please show me on the menu which one is chicken( after fumbling for a while ) it could not be found. I go and fetch a english menu come back to the lady , she tells mr Sir i worked at the restaurant snd i know that we serve chicken, ok i ask please show me because the waiter says they don’t. After a few minutes she says here Sir there it is , Thats not chicken lady its turkey , her reply was they are the same🤣. Ok i ask if there is a place close by where we could have dinner and if we needed transport to go there, her answer was ; there are lots of places find your way down the road we cannot assist with calling a taxi. Its like 20:45 so we let it pass. The next morning i spoke to the supervisor ( a lady) told her what happened etc. Her reply was we had over 100 guests yesterday checking in and the young lady might not have seen you. Really i ask we were only 3 people in the area please view your cctv camera so u can see what happen, at this point she got very angry because she started banging complaining in German. I ask her politely to speak english. She walks away. On check in my colleagues complained about the poor quality of the rooms that we had. Broken furniture , bad bedding etc etc, all this fell on deaf ears. We sent an email to the travel agent and company to get rooms changed. My room was full of insects and when i told the young lady this she told me sorry we cannot do anything about it. The rooms got changed but wow the treatment we got thereafter was appalling from the supervisor !!! ( extra was paid for room change) She made my partner checkout from the room at 11:00 and wait at reception till 15:00 to move into the new room. That was not all , i spoke to the cleaning staff and was told that the room was ready by 13:00 and could have been ready earlier if the supervisor requested it to be. On my return i went to reception to take our bags since my partner could not carry the luggage to our room, here again no help was given. Spent the night in the new room. After returning from business i walked past reception and after seen me the supervisor made remarks, how i know this is because the other staff members looked up at me and laughed. Not sure wether this was racially motivated or not because

My reason to come to Karslruhe had been a special exhibition at the Badisches Landesmuseum in the Schloss, a mere 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. It is also very conveniently located just around the corner from the Europaplatz, a main city hub for public transport (especially by tramway). Several restaurants can be found in the area as well, like the very close 'Badisch Brauhaus', if one wants to try local specialities. Staff at reception and in the breakfast room is exceptionally friendly and check-in was easy. I had booked a Comfort Single Room, which is a bit more expensive than the Economy Single Room. Rates vary quite a bit between weekdays and weekends, as so often in business orientend city hotels. The room was spotless clean, not very big, but all was well arranged and the bed was of a good quality. All okay also with the bathroom. My room was on the second floor, facing the street, but since Douglasstrasse ist not very busy, it was quiet at night. It is recommended after dinner to return to the room 207 (and a few others) more or less sober, because there are steps before and after going through the room door. Every day a new bottle of sparkling mineral water is brought to the room. All fine also with the room cleaning. Breakfast is offered for an extra 9 € and is really worth taking. It already starts at 06.30 in the morning (07.30 on Sundays) and there is a big and healthy choice at the buffet. Excellent coffee in a pot is brought to the table. Surprisingly I couldn't connect to the internet, nor in my room nor at reception. I told the staff, but they couldn't solve the problem. My I-pad worked at home before and after the trip and alone in the last two years it was of service to me in more than 30 countries. And when checking out the hotel's credit card terminal was temporarily out of order, so I had to pay by cash. But all in all I would definitely select this hotel again, if the Badisches Landesmuseum organizes another interesting exhibition, like the one this year about Mycenae.

(+) Hotel am Markt is comfortably located in the heart of Karlsruhe, very close to the Palace. You can actually see the Karlsruhe castle as well as Marketplatz from the terrace on the 4th floor of the hotel. The room for 3 was spacious but still cozy. The bathroom was big and had a bath. I really liked the breakfast! But you have to pay 10€ p.p. We asked the personal 3 wine glasses and cork opener and got them for free. (-) We booked a room for three persons and got 2 single beds and one unfolded sofa bed. The sofa bed was not very comfortable. At the end of November they started to build the Christmas market on the Marktpkatz, therefore it was noisy before 8 a.m. Coffee at breakfast was not good at all.

We had a room in the new building, opposite the main one. No luxury at all, but the room was clean, well equipped comfortable and very correct bedding. Our room was facing the backyard and was perfectly quiet. Front desk was maybe the most efficient we've seen in the last few years with a polite checkin expedited in 45 seconds and all this for a very very sweet price. Add a convenient, relatively central location and a garage and you've got a place that we would like to see more often when travelling around. Highly recommended.

I stayed here fore 4 nights during a business trip to Karlsruhe. It is directly across the street from the train station, so is very easy to find on arrival in the town. The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. There is a lovely bar downstairs that serves a good selection of drinks until 1 am - perfect for a nice summer's night. The breakfasts were very nice - freshly made coffee and tea to order, and a great selection of food to start the day. The hotel is also located right on the edge of the zoo - a really beautiful attraction. Unfortunately as it was summer, temperatures were very hot, and no AC available in the rooms. With its proximity to the train station, an open window resulted in an unfortunately early wake-up. However, I appreciate there is little that can be done about this. Overall was a great choice of hotel for a trip to Karlsruhe. I will be happy to stay here again.

There are 2 hotels in his house. One of them will be empty after 5pm. You have to run far and far to the check-in machine of another hotel to check in and get the room card. All this was not notified in advance and there was no One word description

My son is studying in Karlsruhe for a few months and we found it hard to find good accomodation. However, I found the Seeger Living site and after talking to Ralf, who was very helpful, booked the Premium apt at 49a Karlstrasse. It is literally brand new and perfect - it really couldn't be nicer. It's quiet, warm, well furnished and has quality bedding and towels. It is cleaned weekly. The tram is literally right outside the door, there's a supermarket just opposite and its 10 mins walk to shopping. The arrival instructions were clear and Anne-Katrin responded immediately to any queries. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed here for 2 nights. It was a nice hotel, seemed a bit old though. The first day, WIFI was awful, but that changed the second day. WIFI was great the second day. The quality of towels provided were poor. The quality of toiletries provided was just okay. Breakfast was great. My room was clean and spacious. It had AC too, which helped me have a peaceful sleep while it was really hot outside. The staff was friendly. The hotel was at a good location, a lot of places to see and eat nearby. Room price was reasonable. I have stayed in better hotels at the same price, but nevertheless, nothing to complain here. Happy and satisfied overall!
