The room was clean but quite outdated, with a musty odor, reminiscent of damp towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which was a plus. However, there were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided. The coffee machine in the room had water pooled in the tray, likely from the previous guest's usage and it appeared never have been cleaned. Additionally , there was no hot water kettle or bottled water provided in the room which was disappointing. The lobby, corridors, and other public areas had a strong smell of bleach, which was overwhelming.
The buffet breakfast was a highlight. For CAD$20, it offered a wide selection, and the quality was excellent, making it a great value.
Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Restaurant staff, especially Erica, was fantastic—attentive, polite, and thoughtful. She checked in with every guest to ensure they were satisfied with their meal. Unfortunately, some of the male staff seemed to be less eager to serve non-Caucasian guests, which was disappointing and made the experience feel less welcoming.
I also want to give a special mention to Chitra at reception. I arrived early, and she went out of her way to accommodate me, even managing to arrange an early check-in. She also informed me about the late check-out benefit available to IHG members, which the other male receptionist had not explained when he simply rejected my request.
Overall, the hotel is somewhat pricey, but the breakfast and service (especially from Erica and Chitra) made up for some of the other shortcomings.From€83

Super clean, comfortable and cozy home away from home with creative decor inside and out. This one bedroom apartment has a spacious open concept lay out with a large well equipped kitchen and living room area. There is a sofa bed and electric fireplace in the living room . Roku TV and surround sound plus many many movies for the whole family to enjoy. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom plus access to a single foam mattress if required. There is no laundry facilities in the apartment but I do offer a free laundry service if in need . The half acre property is completely fenced and perfect for your dog to run leash free and the host dog is always up for playtime. There is a patio with a fire pit surrounded by gardens exclusive to guests but you’re also welcome to roam the property at your leisure. There is free parking for one vehicle in the back yard parking lot. It’s a lovely neighbour hood to explore with the Grand river right across the road , ball diamonds and soccer fields , parks and trails and two of the cities favourite restaurants are all within walking distance. It is a quick drive to anywhere in the city yet still in a small town setting . A short drive outside of the city puts you in the heart of Mennonite country with villages that offer local attractions and markets. Also close by is the Elora racetrack and casino. I also offer the opportunity for you to take a private three hour canoe trip down the Grand river where you’ll be surrounded by nature . The room was clean but quite outdated, with a musty odor, reminiscent of damp towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which was a plus. However, there were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided. The coffee machine in the room had water pooled in the tray, likely from the previous guest's usage and it appeared never have been cleaned. Additionally , there was no hot water kettle or bottled water provided in the room which was disappointing. The lobby, corridors, and other public areas had a strong smell of bleach, which was overwhelming.
The buffet breakfast was a highlight. For CAD$20, it offered a wide selection, and the quality was excellent, making it a great value.
Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Restaurant staff, especially Erica, was fantastic—attentive, polite, and thoughtful. She checked in with every guest to ensure they were satisfied with their meal. Unfortunately, some of the male staff seemed to be less eager to serve non-Caucasian guests, which was disappointing and made the experience feel less welcoming.
I also want to give a special mention to Chitra at reception. I arrived early, and she went out of her way to accommodate me, even managing to arrange an early check-in. She also informed me about the late check-out benefit available to IHG members, which the other male receptionist had not explained when he simply rejected my request.
