The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is in the center of Oslo and you can walk to any of the check-in attractions. The hotel is very good overall. The service is very warm. The front desk staff are very friendly. The hotel has a long history and the interior decoration is very retro and unique. You must try the buffet breakfast. It is very rich and the smoked salmon is enough. The only thing I want to complain about is that the hotel does not provide disposable slippers and toothbrushes and toothpaste. It seems that all hotels in Norway are the same. You need to bring your own.From$199

The hotel has old time charm and you can tell it’s very old. The receptionist were late check in us in as there was only one person working at the counter and then when it was our turn the receptionist left us without a word to talk on the phone. The staff are unhelpful, no one helped us with our bags or offered to help. We had to drag our bags through some parts of the hotel that had stairs. The towels weren’t clean either. The hotel has great location and we had fun watching the fireworks at the terrace.From$303

Arrived in Oslo specifically to see the Sam Smith concert. Could walk to and from the venue. This hotel has one of the best concierges in the business! Andrea was amazing - she answered every question and connected me with amazing providers. The bartenders are super nice. Staff is great. Front desk staff are super patient and you cannot beat the location. The room had a very nice balcony. It was clean and comfortable - if a bit pricey but in a country with 25% VAT what do you expect? Very cool hotel in a very trendy, unique neighborhood. The staff was extremely friendly and our room was very comfortable. The hotel is easily walkable to a really cool neighborhood in Oslo but a bit aways from most of the ”attractions” if you are a tourist - fortunately Oslo is a small city. The only downside is the spa - for the price you pay for treatments/entrance, the facilities are pretty mediocre. The chairs are all plastic so it's really not a comfortable place to relax and there's no hot tub, aromatherapy, etc which I would expect from a property like this.From$341

Arrived on our ferry from Copenhagen before lunch so left luggage and wandered until checkin was possible. All so good so far. When we came to check in we asked to make sure the room didn’t have feather bedding - assured it was clear of feathers, however when went up to room this wasn’t the case. Went down, explained at which point after many discussions (explaining that I’m allergic to feather bedding over and over (as we had with the booking) I was offered another room which apparently was better (but the guy on reception didn’t seem to understand my question as to whether the new room would be free from feathers ….!) Went up to the room and of course it had feather bedding. We moved all of our luggage into the new room and my OH went down to reception this time and the same guy simply didn’t understand what we were explaining so OH requested another member of staff who did understand second time around. (Later bedding was all replaced which was then fine. ) the surprising thing was they had members of staff on reception whose English wasn’t quite up to basic requests (unusual for anywhere in Scandinavia) (while admitting my Norwegian is non-existent!) The bathroom was possibly the smallest I have ever witnessed, albeit it did have a bath with shower over. All v clean and fully functional. The pool and sauna were ok but a little small, but if you timed it you could use them. Generally the staff were a little slow (perhaps the hotel doesn’t have enough staff currently to service guests?) and service alone would put me off coming to stay here again unfortunately.From$153

If you're travelling solo and want somewhere handy in the centre of Oslo and aren't too fussed about some usual hotel comforts, then this will tick the box. It's not super expensive but it could also be a bit cheaper for what it offers. The rooms feel like university student rooms, which isn't a bad thing per se. I'm unsure what larger rooms looked like but despite mine having a double bed, 2 people would feel pretty cramped in there. The bathroom/shower was good, no fault there. The bed was comfy but the matress tended to slide around. There's no room service for cleaning up or refreshing linen, they do that on rotations of their own choosing. If you really want that service (which in any other hotel is a daily one) you can request I think. This is fine for 1 night but after a while you feel a bit grimy. I found some clumps of hair on the floor and in an underbed drawer. There's no kettle in the room which is the bare basic that a room should have in terms of amenities so people can make their own tea, coffee or noodles etc. You can buy tea or coffee in reception but it's worth just heading outside to grab something. My room didn't have wardrobe storage but did have wall bracket-hangers which did the job. There were plenty of sockets for charging things. Like I said for a person solo travelling and not wanting a hostel, this place is fine for 1 night or 2. I stayed 3 and it was too long in that hotel and too long in Oslo in general.From$57

From the airport, take the train to the Central Railway Station and walk for more than ten minutes. All the way to the street, the location is very good. The facilities are not bad. Comfortable centrally located.
Issue with this is that there is no public parking or pvt parking at the hotel. Hotel access is on a no vehicle access road.
I arrived via motorcycle, asked if they new where the motorcycle parking bays where? Staff did not know.
I found 2 parking bays after a hour of searching not too far away and not close either. HahaFrom$77

Super location. Right next to oslo city mall and central station and all transport and entertainment food options. This is a modern hotel (or very thoroughly renovated). Entrance was very busy or maybe because I was there at around 2 pm. Very nice looking lobby with lots of seating spaces and good vibes. An Andy Warhol is a. Ice touch. Check in was smooth but room was not ready so I kept my bags in their bag room. It was ready when I came back at around 240. Elevator is a combination of using your card and entering your floor on a touch screen so don’t just hop in with someone else. Room was really modern, hip and user friendly. Smart tv, lots of storage spaces and big bathroom. The view was of the inner courtyard so not much. Bed was very comfortable and really overall liked the room a lot. Depending on your room number it could be a bit of a walk from the elevator so keep that in mind. I tried out the basement level which had sauna, pool, gym. Gym looked good but didn’t use and the sauna was very nice. The pool is round, very small and about the only negative of the hotel. Forget laps, you can sort of float around but even that becomes a problem if 2 or 3 people are in there. I wanted to see the views from the top so went to their restaurant and must say had a wonderful time. I wrote a separate review on Norda but suffice to say it was well worth the visit just for the views alone and the food was very good as well. Finally the breakfast was something else. Honestly I doubt if anyone can try out all the dishes as there are so many. Quality stuff I must add, different types of salmon, avocado halves(!) and what not. Really something to behold. Overall though definitely not cheap, I really liked the modern aesthetic, the prime location and excellent room facilities and the breakfast and Norda were just icing on the cake.From$160

Note no tea/coffee/fridge/safe etc in room but all these were available on the ground floor, Breakfast (included in our online offer) was great - the usual Scandi buffet with the only problem being holding back and not overeating. The hotel has a good central location on the west side of central and we found that we could walk everywhere no problem. All in all a great stay and we would certainly consider staying again were we ever to revist Oslo, which I hope we do.From$74

The room was wide, clean, light, soundproofed, well furnished and provided with everything: towel, hot coffee machine, tea and tea boiler, chibate, shower and shampoo cream, true phon, frigobar, The bathroom was very large, modern, with double shower and was clean. The very comfortable bed, in the Scandinavian style and also clean, large, with double coats, applies with USB grip, soft lights and faces a large LED TV with Norwegian channels. There was a chair and a desk with a chair, a mirror, and a courtesy light. In the very well furnished area of the restaurant, you could have a buffet breakfast that was excellent, you can find almost everything and the very kind insights; the only sin was that there were too many people approaching food without. The latter were very helpful, even though they were sometimes a little sweet, no one of them spoke Italian but it was not a problem. The location is not very close to the centre, it is a time ranging from 20 to 30 minutes, we were well with the bus that stops right in front, the distances gave us no problem. The price compared to competition was advantageous. I strongly recommend booking standard rooms in dependance 2, on the opposite side. It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel thon.

The room is not small, the bedside table and table are small, not commensurate with the room area, the bathroom is large, but unfortunately the glass door of the shower room is not well designed, the water will still be immersed. The advantage is that the landscape is good, the breakfast is good, and the breakfast area is cute. The overall service is ordinary, not professional and procrastinating.

|1.43km from city centerMy understanding, and that of a couple who shared the apartment with me was that we would each have a private room in a hostel. This isn't a hostel at all, the budget option is actually an apartment share which we were only informed of when we arrived. Firstly, I will say the bed was really confortable with nice linen and the space for my possessions in my room was good, a nice large mirror too. The kitchen was ill-equiped, the door on the fridge only sealed if I placed a chair against it, and the utensils and knives and forks etc were not adequate if the place was full. Could have done with being re-decorated as rather tatty. The bedrooms have windows into the main living areas, but not to the outside, so fresh air was limited, and with flimsy curtains over those bedroom windows there was less privacy than was optimum, particularly when sharing with strangers. The doors to our rooms were extremely squeaky. Three bedrooms share the kitchen/living area and bathroom, so up to six people which should be manageable but IT IS NOT A HOSTEL. There was no information at all concerning local amenities, and no cloths etc for keeping the communal area clean. I requested and received dish soap from reception and was given a towel instead of a cloth to keep the kitchen clean. No hand soap was provided as the dispensers in the kitchen and bathroom were empty, something that should never happen at the present time. Whether you share or rent self-contained accommodation for your own party greater attention to detail would greatly improve things.

Good: 1. Great location with free parking. Not in the very center, but everything can be easily reached on foot. Oslo is an ideal city for walking at least in the summer.
2. Very decent breakfast. Three rooms, lots of seating.
Minuses:
1. We lived in room 210. Kavrolin dirty, evoked a feeling of disgust. The shower is leaking no matter how tightly you close it. After every shower, the entire bathroom is wet.
3. No ”welcome” bottle of water. When you travel a lot, you get used to it, but in Norway this is not accepted, I guess. Then we were in three more hotels and there was no complimentary water anywhere.

|0.48km from city centerPros: 1. The desk clerk waited 45 minutes past the check-in time as my flight was delayed and I needed the clerks help on two separate occasions to open my room door. 2. Breakfast was very good and the location is excellent. 3. There are Rituals bath products available. Cons: 1. My room door was terribly difficult to open- it required a lot of force and maneuvering. 2. Room was small and furniture was oversized for such a compact space making it tricky to move around without hitting my knee. 3. There was no sign available in the room for privacy/cleaning. Had to request one right away. 4. Nobody at the check out desk at 7.30am and had to leave a post it note so I didn’t miss my train and subsequent flight 5. Worst of all, room was not properly cleaned (despite using the newly obtained sign) -it was obvious that the floors were not swept/vacuumed , the top of the chest of drawers were dusty and on the last night of my stay, when I returned, the room door was not closed properly (after the cleaning) and essentially very easy to open. As a solo female traveler, this was disturbing to see. Overall a bit of a disappointment!

Short distance to the tram if you want to get around, but also in walking distance to the main street in Oslo (Karl Johans gate). The hotel has modern interior with happy colors, and the staff is service oriented. I love this place! The breakfast is good and is in the restaurant named Café Europa. (The café/restaurant is also worth a visit where they have exceptional great service. They also offer the food as takeaway if you want to eat it in your room.)

|0.83km from city center Clarion Hotel Savoy has got mixed reviews, but our 3-night stay was really pleasant and I would definitely book it again. The hotel has old-time charm, and though the standard room is quite small (compared to the huge bed, which occupied most of the room), it was functional with a beautiful bathroom. The location of Hotel Savoy in the city centre is excellent and unless you want to explore Oslo on foot, you can easily do it by tram or bus. The best part of the stay was the delicious high-quality breakfast and ”light” dinner, which turned out to be a 3-course meal (warm main, soup and various salads). I don’t eat meat so I just asked the staff member in passing if there was any vegetarian warm-dish option and the next night they had prepared delicious chickpea curry as an extra dish for me. That’s what I call real customer service!😀 Also, the afternoon final (coffee and cake) was a plus in this expensive city. The only (tiny) minuses were a very small selection of TV channels and (in my personal opinion) uncomfy pillows (one gigantic, the other flat and lumpy). But after strolling around Oslo for many hours and enjoying the evening meal, those issues didn’t prevent us from sleeping well in our quiet room facing the inner yard.

Room: The room is very small and well-equipped, even with an ironing board. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures. The bathroom has floor heating, which is very comfortable. The balcony is very large, 3-4 square meters visually.
Food: The breakfast was very generous, I didn't shoot the whole thing, and a bunch of sausage bacon and meat for the English breakfast. I have breakfast at the hotel every day and it's great.
Service: Five points for service, the staff will greet you when they see you, and the room attendants are all.
Price: It is not expensive in Norway. Considering the location, facilities, services, etc., I think the price/performance ratio is OK.

|1.73km from city centerThe hotel is generally good, there is a parking place at the entrance for loading and unloading luggage, the parking lot is underground, and a small door not far to the right of the hotel's main entrance enters. Note that the door and driveway are particularly narrow, you must drive in carefully. The parking fee is expensive, 250 crowns per night, but cheaper than outside. But there were few parking spaces. When we arrived at the hotel later in the afternoon, a waitress said there was no parking space underground, so I went outside to the nearby public parking lot to park. After I unloaded my luggage and checked in, I took a chance to go to the basement level and found that there was still a vacant seat. I immediately went to the front desk to handle the parking procedures. In the next few days, I walked around the city on foot. Without moving a car, I walked to the Sculpture Park, the Royal Palace, the National Opera House, and the Munch Museum. Hotel rooms are more comfortable, breakfast is great, there are salmon, two ways. Hardly ever seen salmon in hotels in Sweden and Denmark. In short, everything was satisfactory.

The room was nice, quiet and clean and the breakfast was good too. All in all a great experience taking into consideration what we paid for the room. Don’t expect any luxury though. Very convenient that there is a tram stop right next to the hotel and the tram takes you downtown in 15 minutes.

Firstly we arrived and couldn't get hold of customer service so we could put our bags in the luggage room. Spent 30 minutes trying to get through and in the end was given the wrong code! Luckily one of the staff helped us out after an hour of waiting around. Then when our room was ready we went up and it had not been cleaned. Old wet towels on the floor and dirty sheets. They found another room, but again we had to call (no front desk) - so another 15 minutes on the phone. The response was ”I don't think we have another room”!!! Finally got a clean room - well relatively clean. Room is okay. Small but nice to have the fridge and kitchenette. Bathroom is ridiculously tiny. Overall not great. it felt like a hostel more than an hotel. Area is not great at night and we came back to a dozen men hanging out the front smoking.

It’s very near to the Royal Palace, museums, the street food market, the piers ans a 10 minute walk from the Central Station. If you like to walk, you can walk for 40 minutes to Frogner Park. You may never have to use the transit system. My room was comfortable with its own bathroom (it’s not a given in Scandinavia). It had a window on the street. So it was noisy during the day but quiet late night. When I checked in, they couldn’t find my name. But this happens to me often when I don’t book directly with the hotel. The reception staff was very friendly, especially the morning (blond) lady and the afternoon summer intern. I did not like the breakfast they served. Might think of having it elsewhere. All in all, it’s a good place. If I go back to Oslo, this will definitely be my pick.

The facilities are not bad. Breakfast has instant noodles, it is a surprise. The front desk actually missed the wrong money. Very affecting the impression. Others are good.

|6.71km from city centerHaving visited this hotel some weeks ago when the room was freezing cold despite trying to get the heating to work, I fully expected things to have improved but unfortunately not. It seems unbelievable that a major chain hotel has had no working heating system for several weeks during Norwegian winter and waits for its guests to complain before providing them with the tiniest oil heater which has no effect. The weather was sub zero during my stay and the hotel acknowledged the heating system in the rooms was not working, apparently all the bedrooms are affected. A rather uncomfortable stay.

The dinner at the upper restaurant had one positive: a nice view at the city.The pork ribbes heavily ”workable” by fork and knife,we had to eat with fingers!? So,the best at the end: the breakfast buffet was rich, the breakfast room quite pleasant. Conclusion: not satisfied and never come again

The staff is also very enthusiastic, and the rooftop has a panoramic view of Oslo, which is very beautiful. The only drawback is that the paint smell of the bedside table is a bit strong, and the mattress is too soft. If you are not used to sleeping on a soft bed, it will be very uncomfortable. Another bad point is that the door of the dormitory is very loud, and people often come in and out. If you are a light sleeper, try to choose a single room.

|0.62km from city centergood hotel in the city center, 15 minutes from the railway station, 25 minutes from the DFDS pier, currency exchange 15 minutes on foot, metro and public transport nearby. we arrived late, settled without problems, the room is small but cozy. , all is clear. everything you need is in stock. liked the full wall window to the beautiful buildings of Oslo. breakfast is good, breakfast until 9.30, we came to closing, and stayed until 10.30, everything was in order. hotel recommend .

The windows overlooked the street with a tram, but this did not interfere with sleep.

|0.67km from city centerWe really enjoyed our stay at Hotell Bondeheimen! The rooms were clean and cozy. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for us. We walked everywhere, except for Vigeland Sculpture Park. We took a tram but the stop was really close to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was incredible! It was full of delicious foods that lasted me until dinner. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fantastic. See separate reviews for Kaffistova. I would highly recommend this hotel if you wanna be in heart of it all but without the noise.

|1.59km from city centerI have mixed feelings here. The location was really good for us (close to the library, where I was working, and close to Aker Brygge and the city centre). The staff were also friendly and tried their best to resolve issues quickly. We never got the heating fixed and our flat was extremely hot for our entire stay, and though they brought us a tiny fan, we were quite warm, especially at night. However, I agree with other reviewers here, who noted that the flats are pretty small and that for the price, you'd expect a bit more. I think for stays over 5 or so days, they should automatically clean, rather than charging for it. They should also offer more toilet paper and kitchen towels instead of expecting you to buy it, and they could provide aluminium foil and a few other basics (again, given the price we're paying). I'd like to see refillable soap containers, in order to be more eco-friendly, rather than small plastic bottles that they presumably throw away. And I think they could easily offer a vegan breakfast (you know, bread with vegetables isn't that hard to prepare...). In general, though, we had a good stay.
