First time booking a stay using Trip and while the overall process for booking was easy, the stay at the hotel was a little lack-luster.
Prior to arrival, we didn't get any check-in information; I had a bit of trouble contacting the hotel to get this info. On my part though, I think I did mess up with not providing my contact info (apparently). I got a hold of front desk and the woman I talked to was super courteous and had apologized in advance for the delays. We were told that our room would be ready at 5pm instead of the opposed time at 4. We ended up arriving at 5pm anyway, so time wasn't a problem. When we arrived, everything was fairly clean except for a couple of towels that had brown stains on it. We were short on toilet paper, paper towels, and other small essentials. We were able to get these things the next morning, which was great. My other complaint was that some things were left behind; ie; someone left a pair of their Crocs, and some bar soap in the shower. Even though these things were minor problems to me, it definitely isn't enough to make me lose sleep over. Location: 10/10. 5 minute (or less) walk to the beach. I would definitely still book this place again as long as these issues are not an issue in the future. SOLD OUT

The home is a wide open floor plan that makes being with friends and family fun and enjoyable. The home has games, beach toys and beach towels that are available for guests. Wonderful home with amazing amenities and the best views in the entire area! Step onto one of California's best surf break beaches, Silverstrand. On the North side is the Harbor and the Channel Islands out in front. The rooftop deck is with BBQ and sitting areas and dining table. Great place above it all to entertain or just relax. The kitchen is a true chef's The home is equipped with chef's kitchen and supplies. The entire house has a filtered water softener with extra water filtration In kitchen sink and refrigerator. There are 4 kayaks, 2 standup paddle boards, boogie boards, and 2 bikes for enjoying the outdoors. Beach chairs and beach towels provided. Everything you need in bathrooms, hair dryers, straightening iron and curling iron. Waking to the north jetty you will see the historical La Janelle sunken ship. Restaurants within walking distance to eat in or take out. The home was remodeled 5 years ago and has electric blinds, tv surround sound, beautiful marble countertops and a Restoration Hardware Cloud couch. The kitchen has everything you could possibly imagine. State of the art appliances. Oxnard is centrally located to be able to go to Santa Barbara or Malibu easily. The Camarillo outlets are less then 30 minutes away for great shopping. The sunsets are incredible. Enjoy our family cottage by the sea, that sleeps 8 and is a short stroll down the quiet street to a huge and pristine beach. If you've stayed with us before, you will be excited about recent upgrades including a newly remodeled main bathroom, 2 large flat screen smart TVs, new exterior siding (no more yellow) and all new patio furniture. If you haven't visited before, you'll appreciate the cute beach decor, comfortable beds, and how easily it accommodates 8 people. The best part though is the large patio, it's like having a whole other living room outside.Silverstrand Beach and adjacent Ventura are old fashioned California beach towns. We are within walking distance of the Channel Islands harbor that boasts large waterways for kayaking or tooling around in an electric boat. Silverstrand is also a popular local surf spot, also great for boogie boarding and sand castle building. You are almost guaranteed sightings of sea lions and often can see dolphins too. First time booking a stay using Trip and while the overall process for booking was easy, the stay at the hotel was a little lack-luster.
Prior to arrival, we didn't get any check-in information; I had a bit of trouble contacting the hotel to get this info. On my part though, I think I did mess up with not providing my contact info (apparently). I got a hold of front desk and the woman I talked to was super courteous and had apologized in advance for the delays. We were told that our room would be ready at 5pm instead of the opposed time at 4. We ended up arriving at 5pm anyway, so time wasn't a problem. When we arrived, everything was fairly clean except for a couple of towels that had brown stains on it. We were short on toilet paper, paper towels, and other small essentials. We were able to get these things the next morning, which was great. My other complaint was that some things were left behind; ie; someone left a pair of their Crocs, and some bar soap in the shower. Even though these things were minor problems to me, it definitely isn't enough to make me lose sleep over. Location: 10/10. 5 minute (or less) walk to the beach. I would definitely still book this place again as long as these issues are not an issue in the future. SOLD OUT
