I visited Sapporo in late November, early winter. Perhaps because it was still the off-season, I booked this Grand Mercure for an average of 400+ yen per night. The room was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel, and the decor resembled an older five-star establishment. From the window, I could see snow-capped mountains. It's about a kilometer's walk from Odori Park and Sapporo Station. What really deserves praise is the complimentary self-service lounge available every day, offering a wide selection of snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages. I feel it offers excellent value for money.

Location: Right next to the JR Sapporo Station East Exit, with clear directions leading the way. The front desk is on the 1st floor. The hot spring is on the 22nd floor (2150 JPY extra if not included in the room rate), guest rooms start from the 23rd floor, and the breakfast restaurant is on the 35th floor. Facilities: The hot spring offers a 41℃ pool, a 37℃ bubbling pool, a mist sauna, a dry sauna, and spa services that can be booked. After your soak, there's a relaxation lounge nearby with free popsicles (the Hokkaido milk flavor is delicious!). Milk is available from 6 PM. There's no self-service laundry. If you need laundry done, there are bags and a form in the drawer. Fill it out and call the housekeeper for pickup. The multi-functional electronic clock by the bed has two buttons: one for room cleaning and one for 'do not disturb'. Pressing them will light up an indicator outside your door, or you can hang the 'do not disturb' sign from the drawer on the door. Breakfast was decent; I chose the set meal both days. Rice and miso soup are refillable for free.

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellency of services and amenities in this hotel. I stayed 6 nights so I got to use everything. Great breakfast, very professional staff (front desk, restaurant, room cleaning…), 24 hrs open washing room, little details on the room such as phone chargers, toothbrush, clothes drying rope, vending machines on many floors, little shop inside the hotel with a good selection of souvenirs and everyday needs, scale for luggage, iron board upon request, all in all, everything you need. Very close to both Hokkaido University and station. Spacious room with a proper desk to work, and coffee table. Ask for a south or north facing room if you care about direct daylight. I asked to change and I am happy that they gave me a room with sunlight! Would recommend %100.

Nakajima Park Sapporo|1.38km from city center
The hotel boasts a prime location right by Nakajima-Koen Subway Station, just a minute or two walk to the entrance. The lobby features a complimentary drink bar with a selection of juices, cocoa, and other beverages. While the hotel's front facade is currently undergoing renovations, thankfully, my room was allocated away from the work. My room was a standard, comfortable size and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was truly excellent! I'd previously stayed at a Vessel Garden Hotel a few days before, and the main distinction in their breakfast offerings was that the Vessel Garden provided snow crab legs, while this hotel featured delicious grilled Wagyu beef. The breakfast here is absolutely worth trying.

Great value for money. The breakfast restaurant is located in the hotel's airy atrium, and the breakfast spread is quite generous, featuring a lot of local ingredients. It's right next to Odori Park, which was perfect for viewing the autumn leaves. Getting around is very convenient, with both the Namboku and Tozai subway lines not far away. The facilities aren't the newest, but what surprised me was that many of the front desk staff couldn't speak English.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel in Sapporo. The room was a decent size and came with a couple of thoughtful touches that made the stay more comfortable. One of the highlights was definitely the view—our room overlooked a beautiful park, and since it was sakura season, we were lucky enough to enjoy the cherry blossoms right from our window. It was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The TV offered a surprisingly wide variety of channels, which was great for unwinding in the evening. Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently close to Nakajimakoen Station, making it easy to get around the city. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with a perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and seasonal beauty.

I often book Daiwa hotels when I'm in Japan. The location is excellent, very close to the subway, Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade, and other malls. There are also many dining options nearby, and a 7-Eleven right downstairs. The airport limousine bus stop is also very close. The front desk is on the second floor, and the staff all speak fluent English. You can help yourself to drinks, drip coffee, lotions, and bath salts. The room isn't small; you can open your suitcase, and it offers a street view. I also really enjoyed the breakfast; it was very Japanese and had a good variety.

Love everything about this hotel! 2mins walk to JR Sapporo station - so convenient near to bus terminal North Exit so if you booking Klook tour, the meeting point is so near! And all the nearby J38 Tower, Tokyu Departmental store, Yodabaishi Camera and Hokkaido University are really nearby and walking distance. The location is superb and love it! and digital checkout from TV was also great! ill definitely be back here again! The Staffs are very helpful and polite, just a bit of room not that soundproof but that's minimal minus! Free amenities and onsen bath powder so great, yukate and back/shoulder massager in a room is so superb too! It's beyond my expectation and definitely STRONGLY recommende for those visiting Sapporo!

The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the subway, which is pretty good. There's a small supermarket, McDonald's, and Sukiya right across the street, making breakfast super convenient. The room wasn't huge, and the disposable amenities could use some improvement – no disposable slippers, and the toothpaste was really hard to squeeze out. The most baffling thing is that the hotel's hot spring facility is open to the public for an additional fee, even for guests. This really brought down the value for money for me, so I probably won't choose to stay here again.

Booked a room for three of us — two beds and one sofa bed. The room feels quite cramped, with limited tabletop space for our things. Once the luggage is opened on the floor, there’s hardly any walking space left. The laundry room has five combo washer-dryer machines. If you have a heavier load, it’s better to run separate wash and dry cycles instead of using the combo option. After a soak at the public bath, you get to enjoy an ice cream popsicle — it’s really good! The hair dryer is powerful too, with just the right temperature that doesn’t scald the scalp. Location is very convenient, just across the road from the shopping street. However, access to the metro station is mainly via stairs, but if you could locate big department stores like PARCO or 4PLA, around the hotel, they would have lift or escalator going to the metro basement level

Location of hotel was at the furthest end of Susukino Street - only plus point was there is a limousine bus stop near it. Service is poor - kept insisting my booking was at Annex Hotel even after showing them my booking; no apologise even after checking. There is a smokey smell in the hotel - perhaps due to the aging building.

I stayed here for 10 nights in low season (May) just interrupted by going somewhere else when the price shot up on the Friday and Saturday nights and at the price I paid this was the best value I’ve enjoyed in in the few months I’ve spent in Japan (having visited all four main islands). Microwave and fridge (with ice cube tray and chilled glasses in it) in the room, bathroom gleaming, onsen includes sauna, water cooler outside onsen. Livemax does need to move all the furniture around every few months and properly dust, plus you can see scuff marks if looking for them, but I thought this place was great other than not having a real window.

The hotel provides a shuttle bus pick-up from Sapporo Station (Bus Terminal), but reservations can only be made by phone call. Email requests are not accepted. We arrived on a Sunday, and the bus was already fully packed when leaving Sapporo Station, so it is best to book early. The hotel itself is a little old, though the public area toilets appear to have been recently renovated. The public onsen pools are large and relaxing, but the stone tile flooring can be slippery from long use, so be careful when walking in the bath area. The buffet has a good spread of dishes. I especially enjoyed the dinner scallop miso soup, handmade sushi, and desserts. The restaurant was lively and fully packed with both local Japanese families and overseas tourists. One minor downside was the seasonal fruit such as lychee. It would be better if the hotel ensured the fruits were properly washed before serving. Wi-Fi connection in the hotel is strong and stable unlike the big spa hotel in lake Toya which I just stayed a few days ago.

Traveling in early December, I chose the Crowne Plaza brand, and overall, the experience was quite good. The hotel's location is excellent; the Sapporo subway station's Exit 21 is right at its doorstep, and Tokyu Department Store is diagonally across. The airport limousine bus stops directly in front of the lobby, and it's the first stop, so departures are punctual, and you never have a problem finding a seat. The facilities are complete. There's a rooftop bar with special discount packages for guests. On the first floor, there's a 24-hour convenience store (it's great to be able to buy food at night in winter without needing a coat!), a bakery, a gym, and a craft beer shop. On the second floor, there's a souvenir shop where I found a cute ANA airplane charm. However, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast; there's nothing particularly unique to Hokkaido, and for the same price, you could get a fantastic seafood bowl at Nijo Market. Three of us stayed in a standard room with an extra bed. The room was genuinely small, only fitting two suitcases, and we had to open them on the bed. Despite the small size, ventilation was perfectly fine, and the bathroom facilities didn't show their age at all. If I come back to Sapporo again and the price is right, I might consider staying here.

Location of the hotel is quite alright. Walking distance from Sapporo JR station less than a km. If you have heavy luggage then it would be an adventure rolling the bags along the sidewalk. - if convenient is your ultimate goal, booked hotels near or opposite of the station. - and if you want to book the hotel, it is quite a walking distance to the nearest station (non-JR). - (bonus tip) have a go at their Japanese breakfast (22nd floor), it’s worth it. + view of Sapporo. - it is an old hotel, the toilet can be a little on the smelly side. But if your preference is to stay longer, the price was not too bad for a 4 stars. - since it’s autumn nearing to winter, better to use Go taxi to get to all the attractions areas, if you are not used to the windy chill.

Nakajima Park Sapporo|1.61km from city center
Located near Nakajima Koen Station (Exit 3). Overall, it’s decent. There’s an escalator from the subway exit, which is convenient. The hotel is right next to Nakajima Park, great for taking walks, and there’s a Family Mart across the street. However, there’s no coin laundry, and no amenities such as facial cleanser provided. The air conditioning system is centralized, so the room temperature cannot be adjusted individually. The only way to make it cooler is to call the staff to open the window — but even when opened slightly, it makes the room too cold.  As for service, staff attitude and hospitality were below average for Japan, both at the front desk and the staff who came to open the window. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a foreigner, but their facial expressions and manner felt less welcoming than usual. I’d rate it 3/5. If you can find another hotel near the station for a similar price, choose somewhere else.

I was really satisfied with my first night in Japan. It was 500 per night. It's a bit of a distance from the subway station. Breakfast was booked on-site for 110 per person, which was cheaper than booking through Ctrip. The room was spacious and clean, and the surroundings were very quiet. It was a Japanese-style buffet breakfast. The grilled scallops were really delicious; I ate several! The lychees, however, were black and not appealing at all. It seems the high price of fruit in Japan is true. It's a pity I didn't know how to use the complimentary Hokkaido Enjoy Pass.

Our stay at Cross Hotel Sapporo was nothing short of amazing! We are a group of 5 & were traveling around Hokkaido, starting & ending off in Sapporo. We emailed the hotel to request if they could store some luggage for us till we return, as well as help us with restaurant reservations, and the staff were super prompt & extremely nice to accede to our requests. We even got upgraded to bigger rooms when we returned! We always felt so welcomed by the staff who were very attentive & so willing to help us. Needless to say rooms were very comfortable & onsen was great too (equipped with Dyson hairdryers). The overall experience was excellent. Slippers are required upon entering the inn, and the tatami mat flooring felt wonderfully clean and comfortable. We booked a room with a private indoor hot spring, which was incredibly convenient, allowing us to enjoy a soak whenever we pleased. The half-board plan was very practical. We stayed for two days, and each meal was different, which kept things fresh and exciting. There were complimentary snacks available near the dinner entrance, and they even offered free ramen as a late-night supper. Each day, our room was also replenished with complimentary drinks and snacks. If you're visiting Dingxishan for a hot spring getaway, I would definitely recommend this place. The only minor drawback was perhaps its location being quite close to a main road. My room and private indoor hot spring, at least, overlooked the main road, which wasn't very scenic.

The soup curry was slightly spicy but still quite mild, and a hot bowl of soup in the morning was very comforting. The public bath (onsen) was a bit small with only one tub.
