The Howard Plaza Hotel has an excellent location, very close to Daan Forest Park and Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station. The surrounding area has a full range of amenities and is very safe. The staff are attentive and friendly. As an older hotel, the facilities are a bit dated, and the room decor has a classic, slightly old-fashioned feel, but all of this is perfectly acceptable. The only downside was that the room number sign on my floor (I think it was the 6th floor, facing Ren'ai Road) seemed to be incorrect, directing me in the wrong direction from the elevator. I walked all the way to the end of the hall and couldn't find my room, so I had to turn back and eventually found it in the opposite direction. It was a bit frustrating. I hope they can fix that sign.

There's construction on one side of the hotel, and the old windows don't close properly, so diesel fumes from the crane wafted directly into the bedroom. Not to mention the noise from the building work – imagine driving a car without air conditioning, stuck behind a diesel truck constantly spewing exhaust fumes. The result? A headache that required painkillers. Luckily, Trip.com was great and got me a room change. The mattress is very soft, so if you prefer lumbar support, you should reconsider. The family with kids next door was very noisy, and the front desk promptly moved me to another room. The transportation is very convenient, with the MRT station just a two-minute walk away. The hotel lobby is like an MRT platform, bustling with people – from young to old, student groups to limping seniors, all attending some event. It's the opposite of quiet. If you enjoy crowded fairs, you might like the lively atmosphere. Even checking in took about 10 minutes.

The space was spacious. I like that there are 2 lavatory sink which made things easier for us family to get ready and wash baby bottles. The bench near the window was also a plus, you can even sleep an adult there. Toilet has bidet too. No toothbrush or toothpaste provided so bring your own. There’s also play area for kids, gym and pool. Its few mins walk from the subway but you need umbrella if it rains. Great stay we like it! Its hard to find 3 beds room in taipei with affordable price. This is one stn away from ximen stn. We also had a nice view of the city.

I did have some difficulty booking their room's as they change availability... Less said about this, but I reccomend returning to check prices more than once.

Next time I'm in Taipei, I'd love to stay at the Grand Hotel again! I particularly enjoy hotels with a rich history, and the Grand Hotel was the perfect choice in Taipei. We stayed in the Kirin Hall in the back building, and they provided a dedicated car to take us there, even helping with our luggage throughout the journey – truly excellent! The Kirin Hall rooms offer direct views of Taipei 101, which was fantastic. The hotel also has two secret tunnels that guests can tour, and since we stayed for a week, we got to see both, which I really enjoyed. A huge convenience is the free shuttle service; besides the regular shuttle to Yuanshan Station, they also offer a weekend service to Jiantan Station. The only minor improvement I'd suggest is for the housekeeping to be a bit more meticulous (it's already very good, but sometimes I noticed a few hairs that weren't cleaned). Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I'll definitely be back!

The environment is great, with a mall downstairs that houses several major brands – perfect for a rainy day. The surrounding area is also very convenient, with plenty of places for a walk. Ningxia Night Market is within walking distance, not too far at all. Service and cleanliness are excellent. The front desk lady who checked me in was Japanese and spoke Mandarin; she was friendly and patient. The bellboy was also very polite, proactively helping us with our luggage and very chatty. I had left a note requesting a firm pillow, and housekeeping brought it to me the very next day, which was fantastic. However, the facilities are really hard to rate... The hotel is quite old. My room was on the top floor and lacked the desk and chair shown in the pictures, as well as the shelf under the TV that could be used for storage. On the top floor, there was an intermittent low-frequency noise during the day, whether from the air conditioning or something else, which was quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, it wasn't there at night when I was sleeping. I don't think the room facilities are up to five-star standards, but the service and breakfast were still excellent. Great service and location, but an absolute nightmare of a stay Rating: 1/5 I booked this hotel for a one-night trip to Taipei for a concert—just me, alone, excited to see my idol. Unfortunately, the stay itself was a total nightmare. Let me start with the positives: the service is excellent—knowledgeable, quick, and polite. The location is also perfect, with a direct path from the Taipei MRT station to the hotel, and you can reach Taoyuan Airport in under an hour. There's even a water machine in the corridor, which was handy for getting hot water. But that's where the good ends. The hotel is shockingly old—worse than any dilapidated hotel in Hong Kong at a third of the price. For what I paid, I did not expect this level of neglect. I couldn't book a single or double room, so they gave me a room with three beds. I lay down on the first bed furthest from the window and soon felt itchy—I suspect bed lice. The other two beds near the window seemed fine, but that's already unacceptable. And the blankets were so thin I felt completely insecure—like there was nothing protecting me. The bathroom was a disaster. Hair on the wall, a small dark spot in the bathtub, and no hairdryer. The toilet barely flushed—I had to press the button multiple times, and the toilet paper just wouldn't go away. As for the shower—I've never seen anything like this in 40 years of traveling. Not even in mainland China hotels I visited as a kid with my grandparents. The knob was super loose and barely functional. Turning it to the hot water side did nothing—no water came out. Slightly turning the other way (still on the red hot side) gave only cold water. I could not get hot water at all. At breakfast, I overheard Japanese ladies complaining about the exact same issue. Unbelievable. There were also zero amenities. They hide behind ”eco-friendly,” but in Japan, you can still ask for supplies. Here, I didn't even have tissue paper in the room—I had to go back to the toilet to get toilet paper. I couldn't take a proper shower. I feel so dirty and uncomfortable. Truly a nightmare. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The location of the Hotel isn't that convenient to go to, so it's recommend to look at their shuttle bus timing or simply book an Uber to ride up the hill. Each room that you book also comes with a 1x free visit to the outdoor Spa facilities so I highly suggest you to bring a swim wear to go as it's pretty good even at night time. As for the room it's spacious like other reviews photos have shown but not a lot of people have shown the bathroom/toilet so I'm including it here. It's a very spacious Toilet with the bathtub that has the Onsen water, and the shower head beside the bathtub.

I stayed for 2 nights and woke up with an itchy body, my feet covered in bites from what felt like an unknown bug. The itch was unbearable, even after applying medicine. Considering the 2-night stay cost nearly 2000 yuan, we bought a watermelon and asked the front desk if they had any tools to cut it, but they said no. I also asked if I could borrow nail clippers since my nails were long, and again, the answer was no. The room was spacious but lacked ventilation. If you're just looking for a hot spring soak, one night here is enough; other places offer better value for money.

1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. This trip exceeded all our expectations! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during check-in. When they learned it was our anniversary, they even upgraded us to a Maple Forest Room and surprised us with a lovely small cake in the evening, which made my wife very happy. The hot spring quality and facilities were top-notch. Although the water filter in the indoor water dispenser needed replacing, the staff quickly provided bottled mineral water. Overall, the minor flaw didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended!

Except for the location amd pillows, everything was good! Location wise - Quite in to the middle seems like no where. They do provide shuttle service to & fro to the nearest Xin Beitou station 9am - 9pm. Pillows were too flat even though they provided us with a total of 4. Stacked it up but was still flat. Im like literally sleeping on nothing. My partner's neck was crying for help. Pillows can be improved. Room was decently clean. Had a good soak with our private in room hot spring water tub. Toilet and shower room were seperated. Water pressure for shower was ok. Can be stronger. Aircon was ok for all sorts of adjustments. No amenities provided unless you wanna purchase from them through the reception counter (we brought our own) Breakfast was decently good spread surprisingly! Staff were friendly and patient. Overall stay 👍🏻!

Breakfast was also good. The bed was too soft and uncomfortable to sleep on. The staff provided good service overall.

We just returned to the Philippines after a wonderful 10-day stay at Finders Hotel Qufian, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience. We came in not expecting much, but this hotel completely exceeded our expectations. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and made both check-in and check-out smooth and easy. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. We absolutely loved the ambience of the hotel, everything was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, especially for families. Traveling with a child can sometimes be challenging, but this place had everything we needed. The kids’ playroom was a highlight, our daughter loved it so much and genuinely enjoyed every moment of our stay. The room, while not very large, was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The temperature and heating were just right, making it very relaxing after long days of exploring. The bed is more of a typical Asian-style mattress (not super soft), but it was perfectly fine for us and didn’t affect our comfort. Breakfast was consistently excellent. We especially enjoyed the Chinese cuisine selection, and the unlimited beverages, coffee, snacks, and even noodles were such a thoughtful touch, perfect for those late-night cravings! The WiFi was fast and reliable, which was important for me as I had online meetings and even did some Netflix streaming without any issues. Location-wise, it’s fantastic, close to many of Taipei’s must-see attractions like Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, National Taiwan Museum, and 228 Peace Memorial Park (which we absolutely loved). It’s also conveniently near NTU Hospital Station, making it easy to get around the city. This is a hotel I would highly recommend, especially for families traveling with kids. In fact, I’ve already recommended it to friends! We will definitely be booking here again on our next trip to Taiwan.

It was a very nice and clean place. It was right beside the Ximending and 5 minutes away from the station as well. They provide some nice snacks, drinks, and cup noodles for free as well at their pantry. If you require more room space, this is the only thing this hotel lacks. Not sure if more expensive rooms have more space since I booked the smallest one for myself only, but it was something that I could work around with. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely book here again if I were to stay in Taipei. Thank you for having me.

WiFi poor connection for our stay for 5 nights although we complained but no improvement at all. We forced to use our own data until we had to buy new data during our 6 days trip in Taipei. That was our 1st bad experience for hotel stay 🥺. Good location👍🏻. The hotel building got lifts connected to Taipei MRT station thru level B3 from hotel back lifts. For those with big luggages, can use the lift between Z2 & Z4 to the hotel building. Then access the main building door to the hotel lobby at 5th floor by using the last 4 lifts. If unsure, can ask the security guard of the hotel building. Hotel got washing machine at level 3, got vending machine, water dispenser & weighing scale 👍🏻😊.

I’m very satisfied with our stay at Roader Plus Hotel. The lobby is superb with friendly staffs (even at late night there are many of them supporting our needs). The design is beautiful and clean as advertised in photos. Lots of “interesting” snacks and very thoughtful to have disposable chopsticks, spoons, microwave, mineral water bottles, water heater and coffee packs for supper whenever needed. And we can chill at the eating area watching cartoons on big screens with kids. There is luggage packing area too for us to weight our luggages, and provide guidelines for different airlines limits (a list of table stick on the wall). Other than the cinema, there are 2 play areas for kids to hangout too. And there’s a laundry room with sufficient washing machines and dryer. The room is relatively compact but very neat and clean, limited space for luggage after open. The only downside is don’t have chair in the room, understand it’s due to limited space but it’s acceptable. The shower water pressure is very high (good), love it! Overall, it’s one of the best hotel I experience in this trip. Well done and keep it up!

This hotel is super conveniently located, just a 3-minute walk from Taipei Main Station. Right outside the building is Exit Z of the underground mall! The reception is on the 4th floor, and even at midnight, there were four staff members there to check us in – excellent service! The room itself was spacious and clean, though the face towels were a bit old, which was a minor drawback. On the plus side, the soundproofing was great, so it was quiet, and the mattress was really comfortable. The 4th-floor reception also has a huge kids' play area with multiple themed zones for children to burn off energy, plus free snacks! And if that wasn't enough, there's complimentary afternoon tea at 2 PM.

This hotel is amazing! The breakfast had a lot of variety and all of them were delicious. The location is very closed to the metro station. There are quite a number of restaurants nearby. All of the hotel staff were very attentive , helpful and polite. The ridge was filled up every night with drinks and they even provided the mask which was great after the hot spring. Toothbrushes were only provided upon request.

The room is dated but location is centralised with a mall next to it. Escalator and walking distance helps to make luggages easier to handle. Rooms are relatively big. The lift system - you have to press both lifts for it to work and often a long waiting time. The dryer on 4th floor had a ”broke down” notice and when asked the reception, she gave me a nearby laundromat but it is not self-service coin operated. We booked with breakfast but i'll say, give the breakfast a miss.

Myself and my friends stayed at Papa Whale Hotel for the 2nd time, and we had another great experience overall! *What we loved: 1. Room: The room was awesome – clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. 2. Room Service: Almost perfect! The staff were quick and attentive. 3. Breakfast: Fantastic! Myself and friends really enjoyed the variety. Would love to see a few more options next time, like fried chicken, French fries and more. 4. Location: Location is convenient and perfectly fine. It’s a bit of a walk from Ximen MRT Station, but nothing major. Small note: On one day the staff forgot to replace our towels, but it was a minor issue and didn’t affect our stay. The hotel's location is a bit average; there aren't many shops nearby downstairs, so you have to walk a bit. It's right by a main road, but luckily the soundproofing is quite good. The room isn't very big, a twin room, and the beds are a bit small. There's also no luggage rack in the room, which is inconvenient – I was hesitant to put my luggage on the carpet fearing it might be unclean, and putting it by the door would block the way. I didn't use any other facilities, only had breakfast, which was decent. Luggage storage was also very convenient.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Okura. The service was excellent and they upgraded my room, wich was awesome. It was large, spacious and very nice to come back to after a long and hot day out. I really appreciated that. I also liked the construction quality and use of good quality material throughout. My only gripe is there was a slight musty smell until the cleaning lady turned on the dehumidifier, and then it went away. Overall, it was superb, especially the service. I also appreciate that there was a cold plunge in the spa and that it was freezing cold. So many places compromise nowadays on everything. It’s nice they try to stick to the standard here.

Our cat already thinks the Kimpton is her home; she absolutely didn't want to leave at check-out... Next time we bring her back to Taiwan, we'll definitely choose the Kimpton again. We stayed on the executive floor, one-bedroom suite with lounge access and were extremely disappointed by the service quality. Housekeeping was far below 5‑star standards — our bedsheets were never changed once during our 6‑day stay, and even the daily bed‑making was sloppy and careless. The executive lounge experience was equally poor. We stood at the counter waiting to be checked in while three staff members were present. Only one was serving a western guest; the other two completely ignored us. After waiting several minutes with a toddler, we walked in to find a seat first. A staff member then approached us impatiently, telling us we “should have waited outside,” despite the fact that they had ignored us the entire time. The attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming. For a hotel that markets itself as 5‑star and charges premium rates, the service and attention to detail were nowhere near acceptable.

Is this a good hotel? Yes, but it's also lacking in many aspects. It leaves a bad impression on returning guests. My last stay was a very unpleasant experience, and I believe most guests wouldn't return a second time, but I'm a loyal customer and a member. Last time, the housekeeping supervisor sincerely apologized, followed up multiple times, and promised to earn my trust, asking for another chance. That's why I stayed here again. ”Today's sword doesn't slay yesterday's man” – the room upgrade or suite promised by the previous supervisor, Ms. Chen, was naturally nonexistent (I later found out she had already left). Even the welcome fruit, welcome drink, and complimentary gift that were previously offered were all omitted. The treatment was worse than my first stay. Turndown service wasn't provided, making me wonder if I was at an economy hotel. At least I'm a senior member of this group, not the highest tier, but I feel misled. Even if the guest booked a standard room this time, the treatment shouldn't be so drastically different from the previous suite stay. This hotel seems dedicated to transforming itself into an economy hotel. For example, they don't provide toothbrushes, bath salts, or mouthwash. The room decorations are paper flowers. Their official app offered an option to request a toothbrush. I clicked it in the afternoon and received a system confirmation, but it was never delivered to my room, nor was I informed by phone that they couldn't provide it. After searching the entire room in the middle of the night and finding none, I finally learned they don't provide toothbrushes. One phrase stuck with me: ”You won't find a single toothbrush in any hotel in Taipei right now.” After checking out here, I went to Villa 32, and they provided one proactively without any excuses. When I called their on-duty staff to inquire, all I received were endless complaints about their mayor and policies. When I mentioned my vocal cords were damaged and I couldn't talk on the phone for long, he interrupted me and continued to ramble on. They seem to lack a complete management system and service process. I called in the afternoon to request two tea bags, but they weren't delivered that day. The next morning, I called again, and they said ”shortly,” but the service was never completed by check-out time. I mentioned this incident when I stored my luggage at the concierge, and they confidently told me they would give me the tea bags when I picked up my luggage. Predictably, their promise remained empty. They shouldn't have promised anything at all. There probably won't be a next time. Because this time was even worse than the last.

This hotel is superb. Location.. Easy to connect anywhere, walking distance with a lot of local shops. Everyday day evening serve local porridges and diff favourite of ice cream to stay in guest. I feel so warmth especially come back fr work everyday, and the hot porridge is serve. If I choose not to clean my room during my stay, I can get a small gift for that day. This is so sustainable tourism stay, I ma looking forward my small gift every day with just small step of action to support SDG. Their politeness, helpful make me feel very warmth The bed is so comfort, room is very quite, I love their Dyson hairdryer so so much. Overall the stay is above my expectation and feel very warmth and satisfied stay for my 5D4N here.

Next time I'm in Taipei, I'd love to stay at the Grand Hotel again! I particularly enjoy hotels with a rich history, and the Grand Hotel was the perfect choice in Taipei. We stayed in the Kirin Hall in the back building, and they provided a dedicated car to take us there, even helping with our luggage throughout the journey – truly excellent! The Kirin Hall rooms offer direct views of Taipei 101, which was fantastic. The hotel also has two secret tunnels that guests can tour, and since we stayed for a week, we got to see both, which I really enjoyed. A huge convenience is the free shuttle service; besides the regular shuttle to Yuanshan Station, they also offer a weekend service to Jiantan Station. The only minor improvement I'd suggest is for the housekeeping to be a bit more meticulous (it's already very good, but sometimes I noticed a few hairs that weren't cleaned). Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I'll definitely be back!

There are also plenty of food stalls and restaurants in the vicinity, and you can exchange foreign currency at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The National Taiwan Museum is also within walking distance, and Taipei Main Station offers excellent accessibility. The front desk is on the 11th floor, and there are water dispensers on each floor, so you can refill your water whenever needed. (I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and they provided 3 bottles of water.) There's a nice surprise when you check in: you get some snacks.
