We had not planned to stay at this hotel but after staying at another Heritage Hotel it was top on our list when we found that our return flight home was canceled. I booked online very early since the reservation center was not open at that hour in the morning. (5 am) I had remembered seeing the hotel previewed on the heritage channel during our stay at The Inn and Spa at Loretto earlier that week. Once we obtained our rental car and had some coffee we contacted the hotel and asked if we could drop off our luggage since there were a lot of alerts about car break ins at a lot of tourist locations. We were told that we could absolutely do that and to come right over. The valet attendant James took care of our luggage quickly and efficiently. We returned to the hotel around 2 pm to see if we would be able to check in early. Sarah at the desk was very kind and welcoming while briefly listening to our plight. She got us checked in early with swiftness and efficiency. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable with every convenience we would need. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and welcoming even the hotel security Michelle who brushed the snow off our rental. Absolutely loved this hotel and can't wait to go back.

This is a lovely hotel - beautiful rooms and nice amenities, great rooftop bar/restaurant for viewing sunsets, and handy location to Old Town shops and restaurants. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. However...they are some communication disconnects if you're used to having food and libations available early morning or other less mainstream times like mid-afternoon on a Sunday. There is no paper guest guide in your room - you'll be directed to the hotel website that has some navigation issues. Like, where is the room service menu? Only if you know where to find the PDF (!) on one of the restaurants' pages, it's the only way you'll get breakfast (beyond coffee and a pre-wrapped pastry) in the hotel. Same with Sunday afternoons - get back to your hotel after 1 p.m. on Sunday - you're out of luck for anything to take to the pool until after 4. The company that owns the hotel also owns the Sawmill Market across the street and that is the default food service for the hotel. BUT they open at 8 a.m. (so if you're going on that e-bike tour at 8:30, you're rushing for food) and on a weekend afternoon you'll find yourself waiting in lines and scouting seats. So not really ideal.

It’s not the case that the hotel is managed by Marriott, which has the usual style of Marriott. The hotel only opened this year, everything is new and comfortable. Compared with the nightmare of last night, today is in the sky!

The grounds and ****** were very nice. However, the music in the ****** was just a bit too loud. Heard someone else complain about that too. The hotel room was quiet, spotless, and absolutely beautiful. Nice touches all around.

The staff here was super friendly. I was traveling alone and ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Dani was my waitress and she was great. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. I’d stay here again if I was driving through Albuquerque.

Great place to stay - comfortable bed and pillows. Check in staff was awesome- waitress at restaurant provided a great customer experience. Great view- enjoyed seeing a winter storm come through - heavy clouds around the Sandia mountains.

First the good: everyone was super helpful and accommodating, especially the ladies at breakfast. The made to order omelettes and pancakes were really good and the lady making them was so friendly and eager to please. The happy hour was also nice and the bar tender seemed to be a really good guy and was very efficient. The main desk staff were pleasant as well, no problems there. Here’s why I am giving 3 stars: The shower and shower curtain were not clean looking. The toilet bowl was the same way. I think it maybe just needs updated but it still left me with a gungy feel. Actually the whole Bathroom in general felt gross. Same with carpet. But here is the main reason why I would never come back: the water in the pool was so disgusting that I can’t even. There was no smell of chlorine or chemicals and the water was green and cloudy. Like real cloudy. So I thought it must be a saltwater pool so I swam but was still grossed out. The next day I asked the front desk if it was a saltwater pool which would explain the cloudiness and she said no it was chlorine. Girl, that pool hadn’t seen chlorine since like 1985. Ughhhhhhhh. So grossed out to be swimming in essentially dirty bath water. It was a busy pool. really hope the front desk clerk was wrong and if I find out it was a saltwater pool I will amend my review. But if this is correct, people clean up your pool!!!! So if you stay here, expect a great breakfast but stay out of the pool and don’t expect it to be a shiny and updated room because it is not. Or at least our room wasn’t. Yuck.

We have stayed at this hotel several times as it is very close to UNM hospital. It is always very clean, beautiful rooms, friendly staff, great food. The use of the Hilton app is wonderful, no check in required and your phone is the key. Will stay here again!

Reviews From Real Travelers
A knock on our door at 8pm my wife opened the door to be met by the front desk lady aggressively telling her “multiple complaints about excessive noise and shouting from our room, she had listened at our door and heard screaming and if she got one more complaint we would have to leave the hotel”. I called back down stairs as I was in shock - i thought she must have the wrong room - the only noise was from our perhaps boisterous 6 year old who was watching a kids show on YouTube kids. But she again reiterated “screaming” and that we would be forced to leave. In my opinion I don’t think you could find a quieter family. Certainly the TV would have made more noise. Shocking unbelievably bad customer service - simply asking us to keep the noise down as someone had complained would have been sufficient - but the instant escalation to leave the hotel…..left us feeling very upset. If we disturbed someone at 8pm in the evening, we are truly sorry. The noise insulation seemed good in the hotel - we only heard occasional doors closing and the freeway traffic outside. We had got in from dinner around 7:15pm after a 9 hour drive. After the complaint at 8pm we spent the next 45 mins whispering and stressing that somehow we were going to be put out in the street in a Saturday night in Albuquerque, before going to sleep. Needless to say it was a restless night sleep. As for the hotel, we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express hotel the night before in Fort Worth. So we had a direct compare and contrast. In Albuquerque the shower did not work and there was a problem with the functionality of the blackout shades. The breakfast was a little disappointing as there was only half of the items offered actually available (the sausage and biscuits were great). No yogurts, cinnamon roles, bread for toast. And there was a distinct absence of any staff replenishing food, or cleaning tables etc. Check in was also odd - we had booked a prepaid non cancellation 2 x queen bed room (for our family of 4). Arrived around 5pm. At check in “sorry I don’t have that room, but I do have a king suite with a sofa bed; the hotel is fully booked”. I explained that didn’t work for us, we needed two beds. After some time on the computer the lady said ok, I have a room for you “someone else is going to be disappointed when they check in tonight”. I have no idea what the criteria used to select disappointing a guest were. Overall something just not right with the way this property was running.

I stayed in room 306. This is the second time we’ve stayed here and it’s consistently great! Front desk service is wonderful, rooms are nice and clean felt like home. I was worried because we were right by the elevator and I thought it might be noisy, but it was so quiet. Breakfast was really good and hot. The breakfast host laney was phenomenal. ”GREAT” experience! 10 out of 10 Would recommend :) Thank you IHG.
