My friend and I were quite stunned by the shabbiness of the hotel. Our room, especially the bathroom, needed a really good clean. There were bad odours in the foyer and no coffee or milk capsules were left in the room nor bottles of drinking water, even though there were tea bags, a kettle and two cups. When we asked for some coffee at the reception we were told that there wasn’t any. When we asked about a table at the restaurant we were told that it was fully booked and that we should have reserved it beforehand. I had spoken to the receptionist the previous day in regards to the parking code and she failed to mention this necessity. The breakfast was okay but the coffee cups provided were too small for the coffee machine and the guests were quick to grab paper napkins as the hot coffee spilled over the cups. We were there for the king tide and the location of the hotel was fabulous….that is its greatest advantage. With a price of 305€ per night, which included my 20% booking.com reduction, we felt that the price was truly exorbitant for what was offered. The staff could have been friendlier and made no effort to ensure that our stay there was a pleasant experience…they simply didn’t care.

We stayed here for one night and we were happy we did. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The ladies at the reception desk are helpful, kind, and communicate fluently in English among other languages. We were surprised with how quiet the room was even though it faced the street which was loud and lively. The room was clean and modern, but small. For obvious reasons, there isn’t a lot of room in the Mont, so most places are going to be small. We travelled very light, so the size of the room was not an issue for us. You will have a hard time if you go to the mont with large and heavy luggage. Why? The pedestrian-only street (yes there is only one) is narrow, crowded, and the further you go the steeper it gets. Oh and it is cobblestone (not luggage wheel friendly). Your hotel room will more than likely be on the second or third floor with narrow and twisting stairs. The rooms are small. If we had brought a carryon size suitcase, we would have regretted it. Luckily we brought backpacks. We had no problem with the room at all… everything worked well.

The room is OK, very close to Mont Saint Michel, the room can be seen without fear, the hotel angle is not very good, but there is a bridge next to the back door, it is suitable for taking pictures. There is still some cold this evening. . . The room has a bathroom that can be bathed and very comfortable.

There are some good things and some bad things about this place. The location is convenient to the shuttle over to Mont St Michel, and is also one of the closest hotels, which is helpful if you make the long walk there or back. The room was also decent, as was the breakfast. That said, the hotel did not send the parking access code in advance so I had to call to get it - and when I did the person suggested we'd likely be able to get into our room early, however when we arrived, the staff refused to let us do so, and didn't even want to hold our bags (and we know the hotel had only been open for 1 night after a month+ closure, so doubt the room was even full at the time). Also, it was very loud - we heard people going up and down the stairs all night long.

Parking - the directions were a little confusing for a first-timer, but the hotels nearest Mont Saint Michel are blocked off to the public and you need to use a code to access this area. Once in the blocked off area, it is easy to find Hotel Vert and park in the hotel parking area. Quad room - fine. Our room was all beds and not much else, but it worked for the one night we spent there. We walked to the provided shuttle that took us to Mont Saint Michel - which made the stay even more worth it. Breakfast the next morning in the hotel was pleasant if not memorable. Same with the staff. Pleasant. I would stay here again.
