Hotel Issacs Cork City has a good center city location, close to the main sites tourists would like to see and not too far from the bus and train stations. When we were there recently, our room was very spacious, especially by European standards. There were 2 drawbacks to the property I feel visitors should be aware of, however. The first is the parking situation. The hotel has no parking of its own, but rather allows you to park in a church lot that is isn’t particularly close, for a fee. The issue is if you have even the slightest mobility issue, it will be rigorous to get your luggage to the hotel. It’s easily .3 -.4 of a mile away and you have to descend a steep incline and get the luggage down several steps to reach the hotel. Then you have to reverse the process when you leave the hotel. You are entirely on your own to handle this. There is no one on staff to assist you. When you want to enter the parking area to drop or retrieve your car or any forgotten belonging, the gate which guards the parking area is locked and you have to call the hotel to have the gate unlocked remotely. It’s a pain and especially so when the staff is unavailable to answer the phone quickly and open the gate. Right now the road in front of the property is all torn up for repairs, so possibly the situation will Improve when those are done, but that is the permanently designated parking area and there is no ‘set down’ space to leave luggage and go park. It’s enough to make us never under any circumstances return. Additionally, our 3rd floor room was not air conditioned and the sun came in at such an angle that it heated up the room until dark, which was late due to the long daylight hours. The day was only about 65 degrees F, but the room temp was 80+ and never cooled down enough to sleep well. If you visit in the summer, be aware that you will be cooked on the 3rd floor. There was only 1 available room we could have moved into and it was air conditioned, but only had a double bed, which wouldn’t work for us. All in all, we wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

Love the location. Close to everything including the train station. Great and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Love the waterfall in the court yard. Would recommend to friends and family. Let kept our luggage safe while we enjoyed the City before departure.

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating a family wedding. Food excellent and staff very friendly. One member of staff who really stood out for us was Don the Night porter . Such a gentleman who was most friendly, helpful and funny . He really made our stay extra enjoyable and would most definitely make you want to revisit.

I stayed here for a family wedding last weekend and it was fantastic. This hotel has a wonderful historical charm with such spacious rooms and traditional decor. The food was top notch and we found the staff to be very professional and friendly. Don the barman in particular made us feel extra welcome, he’s a gent.

We stayed for 3 nights in November as a large group of 14 adults and 5 children, it was our third trip to Castlemartyr as a group and we had a great time. We rented out 3 of the Gate Residences which are located just as you drive in. The houses have everything you need amenities wise and were absolutely spotless. They're bout a 5 min walk to the village and a 7 min walk to the hotel itself which is super handy. The village has a Centra, Greengrocers as well as a couple of pubs so all you need really. Concierge service is available from the house but it's such a nice walk especially at night so would highly recommend once the weather is good. We had dinner in The Canopy Restaurant on the first night and the Hunted Hog both other nights. Food was absolutely delicious in both as it always is and the service was fantastic. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner the food is really good in the hotel. One thing I would say, if you have a baby who is only moving to solids, there are no options available except soup. So I would advise bringing your own if you have a young baby. It would be great if the hotel offered something even like Ella's Kitchen pouches in the future. The pool is great for adults and kids alike. There are alotted times to bring children and they have a ball. But alternatively there are adult only times which is great too if needing to chill and have a swim. Have to give a special mention to the babysitting services onsite as well. If you require a baby sitter the hotel will provide numbers to organise yourself. We've had Eileen on every visit and I can't praise her enough, she has been amazing and so good with the kids as well. It's great having the option if you want to go for a bite to eat and a drink knowing the kids are being so we'll looked after in the house. Overall another great few days in Castlemartyr and we're looking forward to heading back in the future.

Stand out experience was dinner in Terre, Michelin star restaurant. Chef's table. It started with a guided tour of most of the ingredients used in the dinner menu ,followed by amuse- bouche with champagne while observing the calmest head chef, V Crepel at work,in a stunning dimly lit kitchen with amazing upbeat tunes . Service was excellent. Food was utterly memorable, a culinary extravaganza..from scallops to lobster to caviar..wagu beef..local deer ..fabulous petit fours in the decadent old world bar next door...wonderful opulence in Christmas decorations throughout the hotel...super cosy and warm...Enjoy !

Extraordinary stay. Particular highlight is the friendliness of the staff and their attentive manner. Kate in the spa deserves special mention for going above and beyond to fit us in. The spa itself was beautiful, spotlessly clean and the treatments delivered with great care and skill. We ate breakfasts daily and had one dinner in the restaurant. The dining experience was first rate, significantly better than decent hotel fare. Wholehearted recommendation and thanks to the team.

Attended with a large group of friends for afternoon tea. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, food was amazing and beautifully presented. A very enjoyable experience from start to finish. The hotel looks amazing with their Christmas decorations. Highly recommended experience for all.

Rachel at reception saved our vacation to Cork! Upon arrival to Cork, our airbnb had visible mold and smelled of mildew. Even though the Jury's Inn was fully booked, she helped us try to find a new location. After spending time in your lobby, Rachel rushed out to tell us there was a cancelation! Not only did she help us get a room, she provided complimentary drinks for ”our rough day”. I can't say enough good things about how caring Rachel was through the entire process. Thank you Rachel and Jury's Inn!

We stayed at the Jury's Inn for a couple of days and we really enjoyed the experience with great staff and a very nice room with good views over the river. The hotel is very close to the shopping and entertainment centre of the city with lots of lovely restaurants and bars in a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel is situated with the bus station just around the corner and further down is the main area called Oliver Plunkett St and St Patrick Street running parallel to it with more shops and bars. The hotel is a good place to stay in Cork and its got a car park with secure parking spaces but it's got limited spaces so you need to get there before the rush.
