Via Del Faro Massolivieri 26A, Plemmirio, 96100, Siracusa, Sicily, Italy
"We booked a week at the Minareto from 6th October. There are two really positive things about the hotel - the stunning views of the bay to Ortigia and the staff who are mostly helpful. However, the negatives outweigh the positives as far as we are concerned. The weather was really stormy on our second night and the rain came in the front door and patio doors. I got up to find the floor flooded. We had to move the furniture and our possessions about to stop any damage. We reported it to reception and some cleaners arrived. They mopped it up and left towels on the floor which we had to put up with until the weather improved. There was no word of apology from a manager or anyone asking if our possessions had sustained any damage. The hotel is some distance away from local restaurants so unless you wish to drive into Syracuse there are one or two adequate places to eat, but after experiencing the breakfast we were very glad we did not pay to have dinner at the hotel. The cooked breakfast options were very limited (bacon, frankfurter and congealed scrambled egg) and they were never hot. There was a cook offering fried eggs or omelette to order but it was either undercooked or burned. My final complaint is with the overcharging for a bottle of wine which we only found out about when we paid the bill when we left. On our first night we asked the porter if we could buy a bottle of white wine to take to our room when we arrived after midnight. He drove us to our room on a golf buggy and got a bottle of wine and 2 glasses. When we opened the wine it was a fizzy rose. I was concerned what we may be charged for the (wrong) wine but we assumed it would be €30 maximum. The bill showed a cost of €45. I asked to speak to the manger. I also pointed out that the wine was rose and not on the room service list. The manager refused to see us but the receptionist offered us a €10 discount. My overriding memory - anger and feeling that either the driver or hotel had overcharged us for a very average bottle of wine. We would recommend going elsewhere - either to stay or have breakfast. It was not value for money at all compared with the last hotel we stayed in in Sicily. We would not recommend it. "
"The hotel is in a wonderful situation with a view looking directly at Ortigia and its ancient fortifications. We had a very good room with a balcony overlooking the sea. Room service was excellent. Breakfast buffet style and with good choice and all excellent other than the coffee - which is unusual for Italy. Restaurant food good as far as hotel food goes (which is never great - but OK and service good) and we ate in three times. Poolside restaurant for lunch excellent - light and just what was needed. Do not understand the comment saying there was no food! Staff particularly helpful and cheerful. Absolutely no need for a car (contrary to what other person said) - a shuttle bus in and out of Syracuse and taxis ad lib. Water taxi to go out in the evening to dinner best way to go - look at the sunset and get taxi back. Car would be needed if you wanted to travel around. The best hotel swimming pool I have ever used and not many people. Only minus comment would be that it is not luxury rather it is a good 5 star - and there is a difference - but we will go again."
"We had a seven-night stay here in early October 2020 and everything about the experience was good. A warm welcome on arrival, with our luggage we were taken by buggy to our room, a Superior Seaview with a nice small terrace and a view across the bay to the island of Ortigia. Due to Covid restrictions the bar was closed but instead the hotel had a WhatsApp system whereby drinks were delivered to your room, this worked perfectly. Breakfast is served on an open-air terrace overlooking the sea and we had dinner in the hotel three times, the food was top quality, the service efficient and they have a great selection of local wines. We also used the boat taxi service to Ortigia which was good, and at €20 return per person, considerably less than half the cost of a local cab. Finally, probably the best thing about the hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Everyone we came into contact with was lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay a great one."

Via Vittorio Veneto 93, Siracusa, Sicily, Italy
"My wife and I stayed at this hotel, it was a trip deferred from April, so we were a little unsure about travelling in October. The hotel changed from the centre of Ortigia to the Algila and I have to say we were delighted with the trip. The hotel is in a great location and close to the sea to offer a great view and outlook from the balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing seemed to present any problem to them and they were always pleased and keen to assist. It is a shame there is no outdoor space but most days we were on trips around Ortigia, the archeological park in Syracuse or the beaches further south along the coast. You can cover almost all of Ortigia in three days. I would recommend a trip to Noto and to the Marina, which is actually a beach and also Fontane Biache(?), which is smaller but still nice sand and clear sea. Hotel was great and we would visit again at some point, its about 1hr drive for the airport and close enough to a beach to travel by Taxi, which can be arrange through the Hotel, who can also provide beach towels. Great place to visit and an endless number of restaurants, all we visited were wonderful but for a truly magical evening dine on the Piazza Duomo looking at the Cathedral. We thought the prices would be inflated for restaurant in this spot but they weren't, so try it."
"Great stay (with excellent wifi) in this lovely quirky hotel facing the sea in eastern Ortigia. The staff are the great strength of this place which is just a very short walk to the centre of town but absolutely peaceful at night. We had a lovely room with a huge terrace overlooking the sea - a junior suite - with a lovely clean bathroom and great shower. This is an ideal place to stay for discovering the south eastern area of Sicily."
"Two days wasn't enough. Charming doesn't even describe how superb the hotel is. Staff was extremely friendly, breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, location was near the water and close to everything. Stuffing one's own cannoli at breakfast was a real treat; I wish I had taken some home in my suitcase."

Viale dei Lidi 412 int. 20, Fontane Bianche, Sicily, Italy
"I was lucky enough to find this fabulous hotel spa just around the corner from the villa we rented this month at Fontana Bianche. I have been suffering with a bad neck for several months at home & the travelling made it worse so I booked myself a massage here expecting the usual holiday rub with essential oils which I would've been happy with... OMG Menia (I hope I spelt that right) the masseuse was amazing - my Italian is terrible so we talked very little but she knew exactly where I was having trouble & what to do about it, giving me a thorough - I would say holistic massage - that left me much relieved. I wanted to go back the next day but she said I was not to return for three days..... I say this to point out it's not always about the money ! I slept better & had less pain in the following days than I have in months! I went back three days later & she saw me again to continue the treatment. She is absolutely gifted at her profession and I am going back to the UK painfree & rested. I cannot thank you & WhiteBay spa resort enough. On top of that - It's a beautiful place right on the beach & all the staff were friendly and welcoming too! Highly recommended."
"We were one week at this hotel. Our room veranda had direct access to the small public sand beach with turquois waters. The hotel is pretty small with less than 20 rooms maybe half of it with the veranda to the beach. The beach gets crowded pretty on Sundays. The hotel provides you with sunbeds and an umbrella. The people at the beach were all friendly families and behaving well (no litter at the beach). For icecream or coffee there was a local bar. The restaurant Malafemmina was very good. Just don't order too much because the portions are huuuge. Special needs are taken care of, for instance my wife was made a special cake and scrambled eggs because of her gluten and lactose intolerance. Personel in generally very friendly. Apart from the food, the view from the restaurant is spectacular. The price was also very decent. I think it is the best place with a beach in eastern Sicily."
"This beach resort is conveniently located next to the beach with direct access. The sand beach is nice and not too busy. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. The points of improvement are: - They charge you for everything, so parking is another €10 per night, and renting sun beds another €15 per day. I think this should be included in the rate. Especially as the rates were pretty high for end of September (€180 per night!). Also for the Spa entrance or bottled water in the room you were charged extra. - The resort could use some maintenance. The walls were full of scratches, the bathrooms are outdated and don’t look too clean and neat anymore. - We were on the ground floor, and we couldn’t turn off the light of terrace so it was shining in the room at night (curtains didn’t complete close). - The AC was making too much noise (ticking sound). - Breakfast was very basic and not fresh, although the service was very Corona friendly. You could choose from the buffet and the waiter would put it on a plate for you. Furthermore, if you want to stay here make sure to rent a car. There isn’t much around Fontane Bianche so you need to get to Noto or Syracuse for lunch/dinner. The area overall is not amazing. All in all, the price/quality was off and I would not stay here again. "

"My wife and I stayed at Calapetra Resort in October, 2018. The resort is right on the beach. What a wonderful place to stay. The young lady at the front desk (I think her name was Diana) was very helpful. She took care of our every need. The room was right on the beach. A lovely room with a king bed downstairs and a loft. The room was very clean and decorated very well. Extremely nice and quiet. We were there for 2 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Huge shower!!! We had a large deck that was perfect for watching the ocean. I would definitely stay there again."
"I spent 2 days with my girlfriend. One day prior our arrival I have asked if it was possible to deliver flowers and champagne to the hotel room and in just a few hours they confirmed me that it was possible and that it will be delivered in the room for the next day. Furthermore the staff was always friendly and helpful. They suggested us several nice local restaurants and places to go. On top, they always tried to accommodate our needs. We will definitely come back soon!"
"On one end of the Fontane Blanche beach you will find this little gem. We had a spacious room with large balcony overlooking the beach. On the side you had a lovely garden with the restaurant and above on a ledge the small pool. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice breakfast. Only small downside is the stoney entrence in to the water and seaweed. "

"Ha ING jyst returned from a visit to Sicily we were so impressed with this hotel from the rooms to the breakfast and most of all the staff. Our room was so spacious lacked a little storage in terms of drawers but we had slippers dressing gowns all the toiletries you could imagine and the all important air conditioning. Whilst breakfast was a strange experience initially with COVID the choice was exceptional and the staff were amazing. The pool area was beautiful and mist days we had the place to ourselves. Want to call out Manuela Federico and Letitzia all were amazing so helpful and spoke perfect English. Beautiful bakery within walking distance but limited bars due to COVID a lot of places weren't open or had gone out of business. We had to talk taxi journeys into Ortigia but that was well worth it. What a beautiful place so much lovely architecture bars restaurants and lovely people. A call out to Forte Campana restaurant fantastic food and such good value for money. Had an excursion with Marco to Ragusa Modica and Noto what a fantastic day. I must admit we were nervous given the current pandemic but cannot fault the hotel taxi drivers etc for kepping everyone safe. Would highly recommend"
"I stayed in this hotel over a 6-day stay in November 2020, when the Italian government declared Sicily as an Orange region. While the street is not really a tourist region, the hotel is within a 10 minute drive of the main touristic centre and principal shopping street. The hotel itself is a lovely villa-style building, with a very pleasant garden and pool area in the front of the property and a convenient parking area on the side of the hotel. The ground floor of the hotel is very attractive, with large rooms, maintained in perfect condition. The rooms are large and well appointed. Staff are friendly and very service-oriented, making it a real pleasure to stay in this hotel. The hotel has taken serious COVID precautions, with sanitiser, signs mandating face coverings, distancing and room cleaning. The hotel restaurant is in a very attractive location, with garden and pool views. I particularly appreciated the change of menu every couple of days, very pleasant for a long stay guest. I think it is this sort of thinking about guest needs that sets this hotel apart."
"We chose this hotel for its convenient location, nearness to the ruins, on-site parking, swimming pool, garden, elegance, and on-site restaurant. We had been travelling by car and this city would our third straight one-night stop. Our goal was to arrive early enough to relax and recover from several very busy days. For this, Parco Hotel Delle Fontane was perfect. A relaxing swim, a fine meal in an elegant setting, a walk about the dramatically lit garden, a nightcap, music, and even --perhaps -- some septuagenarian romance. Our attractive double had a fine bed, ample room, strong WiFi, and a great bath. Dinner (extra) and the free breakfast were excellent. Staff was professional and informative. They were quick and happy to tote our bags. It felt like a splurge. But at the Internet price it was a bargain. We thought about staying another night. Maybe next time. Greatest strengths: its overall atmosphere and the lovely pool."
