The service was very good and helpful. We checked in earlier than anticipated. The room could do with a touch up but otherwise very clean. Bath was a bit of an inconvenience as my wife is disabled. The bistro ( orrest head ) was very nice indeed. Staff were very accommodating and nice. No problems whatsoever with staff and food was outstanding and even catered for birthday and anniversary celebration. Nice to see vegetarian options as well.

The hotel is located on the hillside of the lake area, manor-style, beautiful appearance, with a garden and large lawn, the environment is beautiful. Originally booked a classic twin room, after considering such a good environment, I still enjoyed it, so I looked at the picture and added money to book a club twin room. I was very looking forward to it. As a result, I was disappointed when I went upstairs. First of all, the elevator went to the first floor (the second floor in China), and our room was on the second floor. So the chartered driver who can work hard for Trip.com helped us take the box, and then after entering the door, I found that it was completely different from the picture. It was worse than the classic twin room we originally booked. There was a sofa, no coffee table, no desk and chair, and the service desk negotiated. The front desk staff was busy with restaurant service. So every time I asked him to ring the bell and wait, and I denied that there was a mistake. I insisted that the picture on Trip.com was wrong. What was given to us was the club twin room. There were no other rooms at present, so I could helpless stay and spent the worst night of the 16 nights of the trip. Fortunately, later Trip.com came forward to coordinate the refund of the difference and made corresponding compensation. We are still satisfied with the after-care work of Trip.com .

Very recommended hotel, thanks to the warm reception of the hosts and women, the breakfast was great. Homemade cakes are unforgettable. Room: The bedroom suite on the second floor, the room is small, the layout is very warm, and the view outside the window is very good. Every day, hygiene will be taken care of and consumables will be replenished, but slippers and other supplies will not be provided. The water in the shower room in the room is not very hot, which is hoped to be improved. Location: More than 10 minutes walk from the station, up and downhill. It is about 10 minutes from the main bus in the Lake District. It is also about 10 minutes from the center of Windermere. The location is very quiet and quite good. Breakfast: Very delicious, English standard breakfast, yogurt juice coffee bread, full British breakfast, and various cakes and pies made by the store. It is the most recommended place in this store, and I like the craftsmanship of the host and hostess.

The feeling of an English country villa is very cozy. When traveling with a family, we thought that three people would squeeze into one bed, but when we came back, we found that the service staff had put up a folding bed. The service staff was very nice. If there was no service staff after 7pm, you could call if you needed anything, and enter and exit the hotel by yourself with the key. The restaurant is warm and clean, the service is good, and the dishes are also rich. It has its own independent parking lot. I will recommend it to my friends.

The hotel lobby has a very British aristocratic style, and each restaurant is very distinctive, but my favorite is the breakfast restaurant. It is so beautiful and comfortable to sit by the window, look at the lake through the green lawn, and eat English breakfast. We ordered dinner, which was also very good, especially the appetizers. The room is also very large, and we can see the lake in our room. It is very shocking to get up in the morning and look at the lake under the blue sky and white clouds. The facilities are also very good. It is a hotel that is worth staying in many times.

Rum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself. We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too. We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful. After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks. We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

The house is located in Windermere, the whole house is well decorated, clean and tidy. It should be a family hotel, with a total of three floors and a room of 7-8. Our room is quite big, a four-poster double bed, a pair of bedside tables, a pair of sofa chairs plus a coffee table, as well as a wardrobe and a five-case cabinet, it feels like we used the tabletop, it is better to change to a desk, because I can squeeze on a small bedside table when I need a laptop . There is also the wash basin in the bathroom can put hand sanitizer and facial cleanser, if you install a small cabinet on it, you can put toiletries and skin care products, etc. The breakfast is very good, it is checked on the menu every night, so that it can satisfy everyone's taste and avoid waste. Very good 👍🏻 We went by car. There are private parking spaces in the yard, and you can park your car. It seems that you can park for free on both sides of the road outside the yard. My husband and I stayed here in one of the larger posh 4-poster bed rooms for 2 nights nights. It is an ideal location, being a very short walk from the village high street, across the road from the harbour with beautiful lake views, but tucked high enough away from any street noise. And because it's a proper hotel, the room we booked was large enough, and even had a bidet. There was adequate parking, a lovely full English breakfast buffet, and a fancy bar and restaurant onsite. The only downside was that the lift was broken, so we had to climb to the top floor many times a day, and construction was taking place on site, but that was quiet for us as our room was around the other side of the building. If you're there in the dead of summer, there was no AC. (Just a heads up in case you're from the states and used to it all hotel rooms) Not currently any pool or hot tub at the time of typing this. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to my friends. 👍🏼

Overall, it's pretty good. The decor has a bit of an American style, giving it a warm and cozy feel. The view from the window is lovely, offering a direct look at the lake. The hotel restaurant is right downstairs, and we saw many foreigners sitting there enjoying drinks. The town itself is small; you can explore most of it within a 15-minute walk, which is very convenient. There's no mini-fridge in the room, but you can ask the front desk for ice, and they'll provide a large bucket.

The location and hygiene of this hotel is okay, except that the carpets don't seem to have been cleaned for a long time. I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a ******, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted.The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved.

I booked a room for 3 people, on the top floor, the room size is okay, there is room for luggage. The facilities are new and the mattresses are comfortable. The landlord is very enthusiastic, and my son chatted with him very happily. I must give him a good comment. Breakfast is also very good, with a set of bread, bacon, omelette per person, yogurt and fruit buffet. The hotel is located in the middle of the railway station and the pier, and there is a 599 bus stop at the door. When I arrived, I felt that it was a long way from the train station, but after getting familiar with it, I thought it was okay.
