Villa Athena Resort

Agrigento|2.21km from A' Putia Bottega Siciliana
Villa Athena has been the top hotel in Agrigento and one of the well-known luxury hotels in Sicily for decades. We could not get a reservation there on our first trip to Sicily, but this spring we were able to stay for 2 nights. The location is as amazing as pictures and website show - you can look our your window or sit in the garden with a full-on view of the Temples. Absolutely stunning. Having said that, location and view are only one part of the hotel experience. Our room (temple view) was extremely small, but very well-maintained; the bathroom was decent-sized and totally modern. Still, it was the smallest room we've had anywhere in Europe in a long time, let alone for a 5-star hotel. Since we were there before summer, breakfast and dinner were served in a totally indoor space without any view and decorated in an ultra-modern style, which left us a little cold. And while the front desk staff were very welcoming, the restaurant staff did not add much to our experience -- on the first morning, we were ignored (for ordering coffee or seeing a menu) until we called someone over and we never got a single smile from anyone. We were so surprised that I mentioned it - quietly - to the front desk person. It actually made us decide to have dinner elsewhere. On the second morning, the breakfast staff was friendlier, but I have to say that it colored our opinion of the hotel. We were happy to have finally stayed at the Villa, but if I were to return to Agrigento, I'd seek out an alternative. If the Villa advertises itself as a 5-star experience and charges accordingly, it needs to deliver. We'd be willing to stay in less luxury but with warmer, more personal service.

B&B MiraValle Agrigento

This was a lovely place to stay. The host was responsive and accommodating. He arranged a tour of the Valley of the Temples with an excellent guide as well as suggesting a fine restaurant and making a reservation for me. The room was large, comfortable and well equipped with a view of the Valley of the Temples from the balcony. The breakfast items that were left for me were homemade and delicious. The location was a 5 minute walk from the train station and just a couple of minutes to ascend to the Centro Storico. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Small structure, very comfortable in the centre and almost ”inside” the railway station, which nevertheless does not have any disturbances and offers parking at a cost unrealized price inside the hotel (but free parking in a short distance). A quiet and secure area, though a little difficult to reach for the first time, coming from Palermo in the evening, for some torturous streets that have also made the navigator ”drunk”. Balcony with sea view (in the distance) and perfect bathroom. Breakfast is not huge, but still satisfactory and varied, sweet and salty ( only note: I would cover the stropped fruit with glass clock). Price in the standard. The hotel has a terrace which must be a pleasant place for relaxing in the evening in the summer. Finally, but to be emphasised with determination, the sublime courtesy of staff: gentle, courtesy and ready for any request. In particular, Mr Daniel, who we met more often, always smiling and sweeping, I would return to him without any doubt.
Esseneto Rooms

Grata a chi prima di me ha onestamente recensito Esseneto rooms! Struttura impeccabile, rimodernata e pulitissima. Consigliatissimo.

I think you're a genius and original idea, you're immersed in a world of fate ^^ almost forgotten to be in Agrigento :D I had the ”fortunate” to stay in Louis XIV room, which I think is the most obscure :) The owner was kind, what else to say? I'll remember the next time I'll have to stay in the area :) ps: I suggest a idea to the owner, I think it would be top if you had typical 1600-1700 clothes to borrow (including haircut) for some shots that leave the sign ;) advertising as if it rained hello

I stayed here for two nights ,down from Palermo. The room was more than comfortable ,every little thing had been carefully considered, which contributes to a very enjoyable stay . Every little amenity you would expect and more, two televisions,Netflix, quality toiletries, soft towels, slippers,I could go on and on,the breakfast as all other reviews have stated is exceptional and gets carried through to lunch in the form of a doggy bag, made up by one of the hosts. And finally ,the host ,completely charming ,more than helpful, and very good fun to talk to,all in all a perfect stay

I spent 3 days at Elvira's B&B with my family, we have occupied 3 rooms, one more nice than the other (including bathrooms) where cleaning and simplicity together with so many detail searched make the master, These, make the atmosphere of the B&B truly magic, one of those places I think that it is hard to go away. The B&b is located inside a very characteristic square, in the heart of Agrigento, a step from the Via Atena and from all the beautiful views to be seen in the centre. We will certainly see you again and thank you for your kindness, attention and willingness. Congratulations from all of Us! Daniela.
