Baia di Ulisse Wellness & Spa ★★★★

📍 Via Lacco Ameno, San Leone

"Good staff, good rooms, middle of nowhere, manager is a tyrant, refused to provide any chairs outside near pool for guests!! There were 48 of us plus a tour guide temperature was 35 deg every day we were there. He will not heat a good review from any of us. He lost a lat of money as most of us bought drinks from outside the hotel to drink on our balconies."

"Great place for families. The beach was fantastic, and the staff were friendly. The kids enjoyed the water slides, football fields and swimming in the sea. We had two different rooms while we were there, both were comfortable. We’d love to return."

"What we didn't like · Booked 3 nights through Booking; upon arrival, check in, they don't even tell you which side your room is on, the building is divided into east and west, obviously I went to the east one but no one had told us where to go. Small room, poorly maintained 70s furniture, non-existent mattress cover, disproportionate bed for the room, let's forget about the wardrobe and the only chair present. Refrigerator too big, more like a home one than a hotel. Minimal bathroom, toilet flush that didn't work, it struggled to drain water. Muggy heat, we went out leaving the air conditioner on. When we returned after dinner, he was literally pissing water on the table below where all our things were placed. We called the reception, but the phone did NOT work. My wife went down to give us news about it. A technician was sent to us at 10:30 pm because they had no other rooms. The maintenance man replied that he couldn't do anything; I told him and the reception to leave it alone, that we would be leaving the next morning. At that point, the availability of a quadruple room even appears!! Plot twist; room slightly larger than ours but in the same conditions. We give up. Night in the heat almost sleepless. Morning breakfast: huge room not very clean, tables with dirty stain-proof tablecloths, waitresses who do not deign to say good morning and who do not explain anything to you; you have to make do. We check out; they make me speak on the phone with the manager, I explain the situation and tell him that I hope only one night will be charged. To my great surprise, they charged me for the 3 nights booked. Never again in this hotel for sure!!"

"we stayed last weekend for a triathlon competition, the hotel had an agreement with the event. I found the reception staff unprepared, first of all they didn't give any information on the hotel services, I had to ask for the breakfast time, they hadn't foreseen a storage area where to put the bikes, they hadn't foreseen an advance breakfast time for the guests. athletes on race day, did not provide post-race support rooms to take a shower. The hotel pools are thermal and still too cold to swim with children, and obviously in the entire pool area but also at the reception there is a typical spa smell (rotten eggs), I would recommend the hotel to put flowers or perfume the reception. The mediocre breakfast, the undrinkable machine coffee, the croissants and hazelnut cream of very low quality, the simple daisy-type cakes and the empty croissants are good. The room is nothing special, the bathroom needs improvement, old sanitary ware. The only good thing is the location because it is close to the town and there is a beautiful equipped beach underneath the structure."

"We honestly expected the hotel to be better. I definitely wouldn't rate this hotel 4 stars. The only thing I would rate 4 stars is the room, which was really nice, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, well-functioning air conditioning, lots of space, nice terrace. Food - almost always the same, small selection of meat, desserts almost all with the same cream. In Italy, I would expect at least tiramisu every day - there was only once during the entire stay. My wife doesn't eat fish or seafood and mainly eats chicken, which was about twice during the entire stay. There were days when she only ate potatoes and grilled peppers for lunch. The beach is really nice, fine sand, plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas, ideal entrance to the sea, no stones. A big plus is the possibility to rent a paddleboard or kayak for free. However, there is also a big minus, which is that it is not possible to use the all-inclusive at the beach bar - so you have to pay for drinks on the beach. Another big minus is that beach towels cannot be changed for free, the fee of 5 euros per towel is a bit expensive if you want a new one every day. To sum it up, we expected more from this hotel, just a nice room is not enough for me to perceive the hotel as a 4 star."

"Place was nice, great view and friendly people. Food was good- great pizzas. However, double bed is two single beds put together and is quite uncomfortable to sleep on. One very annoying red haired woman who shouts through a microphone when she talks to people 2 metres away from her. Decent music, but not very peaceful as lots of noise, especially very late at night on some occasions. Would recommend for families with children, but not as a peaceful getaway. Bosh."

"Recently refurbished to a very high standard (many pics on Tripadvisor no longer accurate). Family run, their care and passion shines through. Stylishly done, with rooms and everything in them quality. Rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast was perfect too. Advisable to book directly via the hotel’s website. The whole team are kind and welcoming. Gerlando was especially attentive, going the extra mile to help me while I wasn’t well, including booking me urgent physiotherapy. Thank you!"

"Wonderful B&B that is its own oasis in the country yet very close to the Ancient Greek ruins. The hosts were amazing and made us feel like we were visiting family and treated us as such. Rooms were a nice size and well appointed. Highly recommend - we visited there with our two teenage boys who loved it as well."

Resort Fontes Episcopi Hotels in Agrigento

Resort Fontes Episcopi

"We spent 7 days at this stunning bio resort in the Sicilian countryside, and it was one of the best hotel experiences – and we’ve stayed at our fair share of high-end boutique hotels across Europe.

This place is an absolute hidden gem — and while I hesitate to share it (for fear of it becoming too popular), it truly deserves the recognition.

The resort is intimate and beautifully designed, consisting of a main building with seven rooms, four bungalows a short walk from the main building (70 meters), and with a pool in between. We stayed at a bungalow. Everything was spotless. Attention to details, daily cleaning (of the rooms and the entire area) and a clear sense of pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort.

We travelled as a family (two adults and three children) and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed as if we were part of the family. The hospitality here is genuine and heartfelt. Every member of the staff radiated warmth, positivity and a sincere desire to make our stay special.

The location is ideal — a short drive to the charming town of Agrigento with excellent restaurant recommendations from the staff, and many cultural and historical attractions within easy reach.

And then there’s the food… Every morning, we had a delicious homemade breakfast, and in the evenings, we had the option to enjoy a four-course dinner — at an very fair price. Everything, including the pasta, was made from scratch by “Nonna” (Grandmother) in the kitchen. This woman is a culinary treasure.
In short: luxurious yet down-to-earth, elegant yet homey. A place with soul, heart, and top-tier quality in every detail.

 We will be back."

"I often book hotels on Ctrip but rarely write reviews. Today, I felt compelled to write about this hotel. What touched me most was the incredibly warm welcome we received from China. "Our stay at Borgo Giallonardo was one of the highlights of our 18-day trip to Sicily. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional, we ate there 3 out of the 4 nights. The design of the property is exquisite, combining traditional accents with a fresh modern twist. Our suite was comfortable, spacious, quiet and well appointed, by far the nicest accommodations we had during our time in Sicily. The location is an oasis of olive trees and grape vines, all which are highlighted at the restaurant. We used it as our base to explore the area, and felt compelled to take some time to enjoy the resort-like feel and beautiful view of the hills and the mediterranean. IMO, it deserves more than 3 stars. We would go back in a heart beat!"

Baia di Ulisse Wellness & Spa ★★★★
"This location was booked for us at the end of an extensive tour of Italian and Sicilian cities and historical sites. By the due date we were really ready to have six carefree days of R&R - or so we thought! For starters, the "wellness and spa" aspect was confined to three days per week. The private beach was only accessible, even just to walk the beach, on payment of €15 per person per day! We didn't even see the beach. On our date of arrival, we had been restricted by timetables to either noon or midnight arrival. Glad we took the 07:30am bus option because the onward connection to the hotel would have been nigh to impossible to achieve at a late hour. We arrived in Agrigento at 11:30 and a bus service was the most practical option. We took the bus and were left at the nearest stop. This is where Mr Google intervened, sending us on a long way around to the venue. It was noon, 30 degrees and the sun beaming down, with us two seniors trying to find the hotel and two 20kg cases and backs on tow. The area was deserted and the pathways were overgrown and damaged. We challenged Mr. Google and found a shorter route, backtracked a bit and then faced the final part of the journey, described as mostly flat and 330meters. It was more like 800 meters with the first have on a 40 degree steep incline on a rough road surface. We had no choice, so we got on with it. One can imagine the state we were in when we arrived at the locked main gate. We were exhausted, our clothes soaking wet and perspiration dripping from everywhere. Our greeting was barked at us, "your room won't be ready until 3pm, you will have to wait outside". I simply asked if there was anywhere we could shower and change, even in a room the was not yet cleaned. An abrupt "NO" was the response. So, without any attempt to help with directions, we ended up having to find the pool area and parked ourselves in a shaded terrace where other guests were sitting. We couldn't buy anything because all had to be charged to the room, which we also did not have, I called our operator's concierge service to see it anything could be done to shorten the 2.5 hour wait in the condition we were in. I fully accept that we were early for check-in, but I don't think any other hotel would treat new guests in such a dispassionate and rude fashion in such circumstances. Our room was miraculously ready for occupation by 2pm. The accommodation was reasonable but not what one would expect from the grand surroundings and corridors en route. It had a tiny shower, loose & broken toilet seat fittings and a safe that was already locked! The shower drain was partially blocked and the aircon was switched off. I reported these to reception but not all were attended to. The welcome pack only contained the list of TV channels, a room service menu and a comments card. No directions, guidelines, rules/ opening times etc. The actual complex was expansive, as we found when we showed ourselves around. The majority of the faciliti"

"We had a fantastic time at the Serenusa Resort! Everything from the facilities to the food was excellent, but what really made the trip special was the incredible animation team. A huge thank you to Federico, Nagi, Giga, Gloria and all the other staff for their hard work and enthusiasm. They made sure there were activities for everyone to enjoy, and their energy was truly contagious! We will definitely recommend Serenusa Resort to everyone we know. Connie, Catherine & Jennifer"

"One of the worst New Year's Eve experiences of my life. The food was embarrassing to say the least: tasteless, cold and of poor quality, it seemed prepared without any care. The organization was a total disaster: very long waits between courses, no clear communication, and the staff seemed unprepared. Not to mention the general chaos, with people not finding a seat. The price was too high for the poor quality of everything and coffee was not even included. Truly a New Year's Eve to forget. I strongly advise against it!"

"As the only English couple here...its very geared towards French and Italiens. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and hotel if a little dated and tired is impeccably clean. Enrertainment...all in Italien and French... Jet 2 should not be sending English people here...very few ..one trip with an English speaking guide... The food ...well I have lived on salad...lots of cheap pasta and poor pizza... Food is cold and its like a school canteen..no tablecloths... However we did enjoy the beach which is stunning.. The guide managed to lose us on a trip which was scary..we were told to be back in 50 mins..returned and no one there...as she did not spesk English we had to ask tourist office to call our hotel...no apology at all.. After originally booking Sicily in June and had to cancel due to family illness..in.our haste booked this..great if you are Italien or French.. It was a life plan to visit Sicily...but have seen little due to lack of available trips from this area with English speaking guides. ."

"Our two-night stay at Alba Palace in Favara fit nicely into our planned tours to Valley of the Temples and Agrigento. Our accommodation with large jacuzzi was very comfortable. Rossano sent detailed instructions on how to get to the hotel. It otherwise would have been very difficult and complicated to find. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable, except that one morning they ran out of some hot items and did not replace. Unfortunately, the one dinner experience in Ristorante Le Traveggole was not particularly impressive given our high expectations. Perhaps this was due to the fact that they were entering low season, and the hotel also seemed very quiet."
