Hotel itself is quite modern and not a huge hotel so quite nice. downsides would be the reception staff very stern, the deposit issue is a complete pain having to pay €100 per person in cash is an awful way to begin a holiday especially when your check in is late after a long day travelling. Room smelt of sewage, would have complained if staying longer or with kids. Showers cold every evening, only warm in morning which doesn’t help after a day of sun cream. Not allowed at pool area after 7pm, bar closes at 6:30pm , not ideal when the sun still shining. Decor of the hotel is a positive however no tea or coffee provided by hotel so bring your own. One internal toilet for a full pool to share for some reason. Bar staff were pleasant. Located between old and new town which was fairly handy to everything. Beds not the most comfortable, only one pillow provided per bed which was extremely high so had to sleep with none.

The hotel is a nice hotel in a good location and easy to get to the main areas The customer service skill are auful from management in our paperwork it says 100 pound deposit in cash or credit or debit card when arriving under no circumstances was we allowed to pay via credit card or debit card and it was 100 pound per person so this equals at 400 pounds per room this I think is unreasonable for 4 mature ladies The reception got in touch with love holidays to see the wording on holiday package this was sent to me and confirmed that it was 100 per room to be paid via credit card debit card or cash I showed the email stating and even forwarded it on to her team the manager said she would come and speak to me the next day but never did Leaving 100 pound of out holiday money left some of our 20 friends and family with out money and some having to go find a atm this being a 76 year old lady Room smelt of drainage Two towels Left for four people No tea or coffee in room Most of the staff were lovely apart from manager and the reception lady they were quite rude

Booked via love holidays for my nieces hen weekend. I was very shocked when I first arrived to be told that we had to leave either €100 euro or £100 in English, cash only, due to any potential breakages/damage. The hotel would not accept credit card under any circumstances. I strongly felt that £100 per person (4 adults in our room, aged 76, 55, 48 and mid 40’s) extremely excessive and unnecessary, but apparently this is hotel policy and is clear on love holidays website, we checked this and their terms and conditions stated £100 per room, cash or credit card, I have a copy of this as it has no doubt been amended now. This really put a dampener my first couple of days of the holiday, I never carry much cash, mainly for safety reasons, I was relying on my credit card, so due to this I was left with absolutely no cash whatsoever, which did cause me anxiety at first. I felt that the hotel showed no understanding or compassion whatsoever, they just said there is a cash machine at the bottom of the street, but even though I said we would incur bank charges having to go to the ATM, they didn’t care. Moving on from this, the room was pleasant, more 3 star not 4 star in my opinion, there was an awful smell coming from the bathroom that hit you as soon as you entered the room it was similar to a drainage smell, there was other little things, such as only 2 bath towels for 4 people and no table or chairs on 1 of the 2 balconies. The pool area was nice and the food from the pool cafe was also nice, the staff was lovely and kept it clean. The breakfast area was also lovely, clean and plenty of choice food wise, my only criticism is that the English breakfast was not hot, more lukewarm, but there was plenty of choice. This hotel is not for families, but is brilliant for young people.

Spent a week at the Emeralds from the 13th May 2024. Staff were great especially Magdalene (hope I spelt that correctly) in the dining room and the young girl in reception ( sorry we did not get her name) The Standard room was adequate for our needs toaster, kettle and fridge and air conditioning. Mattress slightly "lumpy" in parts and softer pillows would have been welcome but all in all, no major issues. Breakfast was more than adequate with a good choice. Could not fault location of the hotel - easy to get to the old and the new town ( about 15 mins walk or a few Euros for a taxi) Good sized pool and plenty of sunbeds. All in all an enjoyable week at the Emeralds Hotel. Would definitely return in the future!

We stayed in Emeralds Albufeira for 10 nights in April 2024. I was a bit worried about the hotel after reading some reviews, but I can honestly say the hotel was lovely. The room was spacious with plenty of space for clothes, etc. The small kitchen was perfect. The shower was powerful and always had hot water. The pool was lovely and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The staff we dealt with were very pleasant and friendly. We especially found Julia very friendly and helpful. The night porter was a nice guy. We will stay here again when we return to Albufeira. It's 15 minute walk to Old Town to the left & 15 minute walk to New Town/***** to the right.

Had read the mixed reviews so was not sure what to expect. The room was a decent size with good sized balcony. It was spotlessly clean and I really could not fault! The location was perfect and only 20 min walk or 3€ in taxi to Old Town. Pool was lovely, lots of free beds to sun yourself, only downside bar and pool closed at 6:30 pm but that will not stop me returning. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning myself soon😁

Don’t come here!! Absolutely ridiculous, me and my friends come here on a holiday to get away the staff are rude, we had a grow man (who was a staff member) follow us to our room at 2 in the morning for no reason. Do not recommend not a safe place to stay!!!

This hotel felt like a youth hostel doesn’t feel like a proper hotel avoid room 402 room was so dark depressing with a tree blocking the view ! Only place I enjoy was Old Town and everything else was a great holiday shame about this hotel won’t be back again.

Stayed for four nights and didn't really have that many complaints. We were on the 3rd floor, which is where you enter the hotel. The rooms clean. Tidied every day. Had everything we needed. The beds comfy. My only criticisms are that there is no entertainment. The bar closed at 7pm and waz really expensive. 10€ for a gin. There was little to buy from the vending machine. I would have preferred a double bed as opposed to two singles. The staff were lovely and helpful.
