The environment is very good, and the traffic is very convenient, but there is no place to eat at night, and the hotel bar closes at 9 o'clock. There is nowhere to drink in the evening. There is a laundry on the second floor of the hotel, which is very convenient and easy to use. There is no need to dry the clothes after washing. $1.25 to wash a tub, $1.25 to dry.

I have stayed in this hotel for over 40 years and have always loved it. The new remodel is gorgeous and everything is spanking clean. I love how the artwork is related to Iowa State University, our alma mater.

Room was big and nice but the floor was cold. It was 20 below outside abut the floor doesn’t have carpet.

Daughter and I came for a weekend trip and everything was perfect. Our room was nice and warm which made it extra cozy after driving for an hour from airport. It was one of the coldest weekends and to go into the hotel and our room with warmth was amazing. If I’m ever in Ames, Iowa again I will for sure stay here again.

Front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was very comfortable and pleasant. Wish they did a small continental breakfast in the morning to be included with room but that would be my only slight complaint.

This is a classy place to stay. The rooms are very nice. I only dropped a star because I ran out of TP and because the was no grab-bar in the shower.

The hotel room was nice, could have had more thorough cleaning. We selected this property because it had a paid, buffet breakfast. The breakfast was the equivalent of your typical free continental breakfast at a motel, with the addition of cold meats and military grade powdered eggs. We were disappointed enough to leave and find breakfast elsewhere.
