Zenite Boutique Hotel & Spa

Adequate hotel in centre of Angra, no more, no less. Abysmal breakfast. Friendly staff. We stayed here because it was warm in winter. One of the last places in the Western world (?) to demand you wear a swimming cap in the pool! And there were other odd rules: you get fined if you put anything of your own in the room fridge!

There are two Hotel Zenites. Make sure you are in the correct one. The Boutique Hotel is in the centre of Angra and convenient for exploring this historic city. The rooms themselves are modern and comfortable. I did not like the lack of drawer space. I do not like to have all of my possessions in clear view of the housekeeper.

The suite had 2 floors, and the stairs were very slippery wood. Going downstairs to the toilet in the night was scary. A sign on the minibar said we would be fined 100 euros if we put food in it. We asked for an iron but couldn't get one in the room, nor was there an ironing room. We could only give items to the hotel for ironing. Coffee in the room wasn't replenished. The air con turned itself off in the night as it wasn't working properly, but no fans were available. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Only 1 drawer on both floors for storage.

Our suite was on two floors. Bedroom being top and sitting room and bathroom on first. The suite was lovely and had beautiful views from all windows. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was a very good assortment, something for everyone. We had one main meal there and the chef Vasco did an amazing job. Very centrally located with nice strolls in any direction. Thank you for a lovely stay.

All of the staff is competent, friendly and willing to help with directions, making reservations and even making you feel very welcome. The breakfast is varied, very well presented with numerous choices. There something for everyone to enjoy in a very well appointed breakfast room.

This is a lovely small hotel on as quiet street just a short walk from the town center. Although our room was near the front desk we were never disturbed. Our room had all the essentials we needed and I especially enjoyed the spacious shower with rain head feature. The generous breakfast buffet is served in a bright room which opens onto a patio in good weather. In addition there is an inviting minibar/lounge area on the street level for casual mixing. The staff was attentive, professional, and very helpful. They lent us an electrical converter & helped with meal reservations.

This is a very nice boutique hotel in the old historic part of the city. Hotel has been modernized and all conveniences are there, but room was very small. Only a couple of hangars and no storage space outside the suitcase. Hairdryer however was high powered, a convenience with longer thick hair. Location was good for walking around town (we were with a group and had no car). Breakfast also had a good variety of selections.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in 2 different rooms. The hotel is beautifully designed with a nice bar area and a lovely courtyard garden where we enjoyed breakfast each morning. The hotel is very conveniently situated within close proximity to shops, bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and whilst we didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant, breakfast each morning offered a wide variety of tasty hot and cold food. The hotel felt very relaxing and the staff were charming The only areas where I would say (small) improvements could be made are that there were no kettles available for us to make tea which is obviously easily rectified. That aside I can’t fault this hotel. Thanks for a delightful stay.

Brand new interior done in a very contemporary style. Rooms are very mindful, very functional and spacious for 2 people. Rain shower had the perfect pressure and was always hot. Bedding and bed lead to a good nights sleep. Room was cleaned very thoroughly and well replenished with amenities. While the hotel staff were nice, they made no effort to accommodate. 1. Took a red eye and arrived at 9am and did not get a room a minute before 2pm. Lobby was full of people who had checked out that morning. 2. Were not accommodated to have breakfast during that time. Despite explaining we would only use 4 of the 7 breakfasts we prepaid for. 3. Requested a massage at the spa ($100 euro) at around 11am. They said they would confirm. They sent an email at 2:30pm for an appointment at 4pm. I was out and didnt see it. They wanted to charge me $50 euro! 4. We had an early flight to lisbon. Front desk didnt mention getting an uber or taxi would be impossible at that time. Made the flight within 10 minutes of cutoff thanks to Catarinas help making about 10 calls to get a taxi. 5. Front desk confirmed lunch boxes for our flight. There were none. Hotel and location are lovely but service levels are not at the same standard.
