Dear potential guest, if you are reading this review, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY at Onkel residence hotel in Antalya. There are so many other great places nearby. You can read my story and understand why I had such a bad experience at Onkel residence below. My family and I stayed in this hotel for a week in April 2021. I am an avid traveler, I travel domestically and internationally 6-8 times a year and this was my seventh visit to Turkey. I always read reviews before booking my hotels and, although, this place had some 1 *(star) reviews/warnings already, I gave it a benefit of a doubt, because there was some good feedback on this place as well. Oh boy, was I wrong! I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you want to save yourself money and not experience a lot of stress during your vacation. Although everything looks okey from the pictures online, a lot of information about this place is misleading, in reality you find yourself in a remote location, quite away from a dirty beach, there are half-broken elevator buttons, scratched walls, broken furniture and, as the “best part”, you may deal with a terrible management attitude. The location of this hotel is the biggest disappointment, they claim it is located near the beach, well, in reality you will be in the port area, you will need to walk ~20 min across the highway and port gates to get to a dirty unmaintained beach area with garbage laying around. You will ABSOLUTELY need a car to get anywhere, to get to a Konyaalti beach area and restaurants, it will be around 7-10 min drive depending on traffic. From the positives, I can mention a free parking and that the place was relatively clean and spacious. Our A/C did not work, it would start and shut off after a minute. You will need to use one remote to operate every A/C (we had three rooms, good luck sharing it) if it works for you. They checked with maintenance personnel on our A/C issue twice, told us something was done with it, but it did not fix the problem. I gave up on this issue after some time (I was just tired of calling and trying successfully resolve it instead of enjoying my vacation) and just slept with my windows open. It may not work for you if you are light sleeper, you can hear the noise from the street and nearby rooms. There is no view from the room, balconies are facing each other, so not a lot of privacy and you will hear a lot of noise from neighbors. Wifi was quite slow and would disconnect several times a day. I stayed in the apartment with my retired parents and on the last day of our stay, while we were having dinner, a dining chair literally fell apart under my dad (just so you know, he is a skinny guy and weights 65kg). He hurt his arm and fell on his back hitting his head on a stoned floor, but we decided not to make a big deal of it, as it was the end of our trip, we did not want to concentrate on any negatives. I would like to thank volcan at the reception, he was amazing and super friendly, fixed any problems we had quickly with a smile. Nice calm place, clean flat, nice garden view (green grass and trees around the flat which adds alot specially when you open the big windows or set outside), had a washing machine and dish washer. Free parking for the car. We had a two weeks stay and we really felt like home❤ I would advice the owners to put more kitchen equipments

We lived in this hotel for almost a month. If you want ”like at home”, then there are all conditions for this - a kitchen-living room, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a separate bedroom. Modern, newly built complex. Bes pathos, but there is everything for a comfortable stay. Great area. Near the mountains and to the beach 2 stops by bus or 20 minutes on foot. Personal thanks to the manager Alina, who resolved any difficult situation in difficult times. We hope that the Hotel will maintain its level and we will be able to return Alina, thanks again1

Quality of the Room: • Lack of fridge in the room • The cleanliness of the room was not to the standards of a 3-star rating • Air conditioning unit was not functioning fully Quality of food and Dining Area: • The hygiene quality is very poor due to staff not wearing the right clothing when serving the food • I have noticed and reported to the Manager that the food is being recycled time and time again for guests to eat. I was astonished to hear his reply in saying that they are not able to waste the food due to the running costs. Then I told him that they will lose customers due to their extended recycling of the food. Most of the food was unacceptable to eat due to lack of a qualified chief. I believe that the hotel is run by the small team who are used for multiple jobs within the hotel. • I was given permission to use the kitchen fridge due to lack of refrigerator in my room. • Water cooler was malfunctioning – not getting to the required temperature • No menu or named tags to describe the food they were offering and also when asking staff, they can hardly communicate in any other language than their own. • I have asked why they are not servicing any fruits apart from apples (please note that most of the apples been rotten inside due to being recycled) and was told by the manager that it is very expensive to purchase anything else due to the running costs of the hotel

Greetings, During my stay at the hotel, I felt the need to write about the positives and negatives. (+) The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. It is said that hospitality will be guaranteed with regard to satisfaction. There have been some difficult situations lately, The gentleman by the name of Mehmet Altin provided us with the necessary instructions. Thanks to Miss Elif from the guest relations all the problems have been resolved and we have received gifts. I'm a neat guy so i love the cleanliness of the room. That was absolutely clean. They produce delicious and rich food. Bartender Dogan Demirhan is very knowledgeable and an excellent staff! The entertainment team amuses us and we have a great time. There's a tunnel to the sea When we have needs, people come to help us and give us their support. Turkish people are great! (-) Lobby bar personnel need to be trained to talk to the guest! Hotel doesn't have a lot of snacks. there are not enough deckchairs. There are only 1 slides as a Aqua park See you in the new year. Thanks to everyone for their hard work and guarantee!
